hi Michael hi I'm as from the upcoming it's really lovely to speak to you today congratulations on this film can you tell me a little bit about what it was that sort of made you want to climb on board with this just uh the boys really I I didn't know anything about knap um until Connor was like uh we we have a company DMC together he got the script it was sent to him and he said look they've sent this script through then I just started Googling kneecap I watched their uh video on YouTube and I just love them I jumped on board straight away can you tell us a little bit about the carrots you play I know that you have played Bobby sanss in hunger and there is a little bit of form on this but can you tell us a little bit about what what your role is yeah it's basically uh I the father of one of the characters Nisha who's basically been on the run for most of nisha's sort of life and so he sort of comes back into his life at this sort of point in the in the movie and yeah it's just sort of you know the fact that he's kind of lost his family and uh he hasn't been around for his son so that's that's Arlo my character and what was it like working with wit and the boys on this film I mean it must have been I mean there's so many amazing themes to it but obviously some of their notion is comedy so were there some really funny moments on set for you guys uh yeah I mean you know it's it's we we had a lot of fun shooting you know as you can see from the energy the guys bring but they're super super smart they're very professional and um and they're authentic it was just a it was a joy to to work on it I I just felt like a privilege to be part of it to be honest cuz um as soon as I saw their videos I knew they'd be excellent actors they're they're just sort of Naturals they get it and you know watching them live again is you just look at them and you know that they're doing they're they were born to do this so it's cool I'm glad I'm very privileged to be a part of it and and obviously being Irish yourself can you speak Irish I do speak Irish pretty badly I will admit and also I speak you know the Irish that we learned down in Kerry is very different to the Irish uh up in in um Belfast Belfast GIC or gilga and so I had to do some work on that the boys helped me out they did recordings and I just sort of listened and listen and repeat I think one of the main appeals is it it touches a young audience as well was that one of the main appeals for you that it's bringing sort of this notion of Irish language and some of these amazing themes uh to a younger generation 100% you know it was just you know what what what I love about these guys is they're just doing it you know and it's such an inspiration for um young people that want to get into the Arts or whatever they're doing you know they just throw themselves wholeheartedly into it and and that was why I wanted to be a part of it because I I think you know there's such an inspiration thank you so much for speaking to me enjoy your evening thank you
