couple weeks left let's look at the [Music] standings what is going on everybody Welcome to the SB baseball podcast I'm Rd flying solo baby happy Monday to you figured I hop on here take a look at the standings the Wild Card see what's up see who's been eliminated there's a lot of Ease on these uh rankings I'm on espn.com mlst ing for this one um yeah let's start in the East Yankees still on top you know they're three games ahead on the Orioles they're they won their last game not really call it a streak they won the last one they're seven and three in their last 10 they got a 99 the greater than 99.9% chance of making the playoffs at the moment um the Orioles um as I mentioned three games back they got a 99.7 right now I think they're the um in the lead for the wild card but uh yeah I mean they they lost their recent one Red Sox lost their last one Tampa um they're two games back as well you know it it's been between the Yankees and the Orioles the entire season in the East now the Red Sox made kind of a little bit of a run but uh yeah Yankees and orales and again I mention it every time I come on here and give you an update I want to see the Yankees and the Orioles in the playoffs this in the postseason this year so I think they're going to be a lot of fun to watch you know Yankees are plus 123 on the Run scored versus runs allow differential Orioles Plus 8 3 both these teams are 42 and 33 at home um the Yankees are 45 and 30 away Orioles are 42 and 33 away so that's really your difference there solid teams obviously uh the Yankees are the the best team in the e or in the American League they got 87 wins um next closest to them is the Guardians at 86 I mean Guardians are in the central they're in the lead in the central they're four games up on the Royals uh currently at 86 and 64 86 wins 64 losses with a 573 win percentage they're 45 and 27 at home 41 and 37 away they're plus 81 on the runs scored versus runs allowed differential currently on a two-game winning streak six and four in their last 10 greater than 99.9% chance currently to make the playoffs Royals got a chance um they're 82 and 68 they're pretty good at home they're they're they're 45 and 30 at home 37 and 38 on the road plus 103 on the old run scored versus runs allowed differential currently they lost their last game but they're s-3 in their last 10 they get a 97% chance but don't count out the twins they're six and a half games back right now they had a 84.6% chance or four- six uh 84.6% chance of making the playoffs four- six in the last 10 um they won their last game but uh I would say at this point Detroit you know there's less than a 10% chance it's kind of over for them they're just a little too far back slight chance for the wild card we'll talk about that in a minute now out in the west um Houston's essentially running away with this they're 81 and 68 they're 42 and 32 or 42 and 32 at home 39 and 36 away um plus 94 on the Run scored versus runs allowed differential currently on a four-game winning streak uh six and four in their last 10 97.9% chance of making the playoffs the only team that can kind of disrupt that the Mariners they're 4 and a half games back um Mariners are 45 and 30 at home 32 and 43 away I mean they're great at home they're as good as um you know the Royals and the Guardians that's a ton of wins at home they just struggle on the road 32 and 43 boy uh they like I said they won their last three they're 73 in their last 10 but they got a they're under 10% to make the playoffs so they're going to have to go on a heck of a run and you know as you know I'm the host of the Texas Ranger Roundup and I just recorded the the the new One Drops today and you can hear the defeat in my voice but uh yeah they're going to have to win out to even have a chance you got to win out and you have to get a lot of help um let's flip over to National League Philly's obviously running away with it they've reached 90 wins they're the number one team in baseball um they're 90 90 and 59 they're nine games ahead of the Mets and the Braves they're 52 and 26 at home 38 and 33 on the road plus 119 On The Run scored versus runs allowed differential they got a they're on a two- game winning streak seven three in their last 10 have a greater than a 99.9% chance of making the playoffs um Mets and Braves tied for second in the East um both 81 and 68 again nine games back you know solid teams Braves have just been dealt some injuries the Mets have turned it on as of late but currently on a two- game losing streak Braves lost their last one as well Mets are six and4 in their last 10 Braves are 5- five in their last 10 again for some reason that the Braves had a have a larger chance um of winning or getting to the postseason at 67.7 Mets are 44.2% chance um the Nationals and Marlins Athletics Angels white socks have all been eliminated I meant to talk about that while I was talking about the um National League or the American League along with that the Colorado Rockies so you'll see these EAS popping up where teams are going to be eliminated as the just obviously as the season closes out almost daily at this point um and then flip over to Central Brewers strangle hold on it I mean they're 10 games ahead of the Cubs 12 games ahead of the Cardinals 14 ahead of the Reds 15 ahead of the pirates pirates should be the next team that gets the little check mark there or the E right now they are plus 134 On The Run scored versus runel out differential which is awesome their pitching's decent I shouldn't say decent their pitching is very good their their sticks are very good they lost their last game they're five and five in the last 10 so they've cooled quite a bit um but greater than 99.9% chance of making the playoffs they're great at home they're good on the road solid team fun to watch this year again the Cubs 10 games back they're I think they're pretty much done at this point all the team all the other teams in the central have a 0.1% or less than 0.1% chance of making the playoffs kind of sucks I'd like to see the Cubs get in there um they just didn't do enough they lost too much on the road that's I mean they're decent at home 38 and 33 along with the Cardinals they're 39 and 35 but both these teams the remaining teams in the division just suck on the road so it is what it is moving over to the West Dodgers still in the lead they got 88 wins 61 losses they're three and a half games up on the Padre's at the moment they're dominant on the road dominant at home plus6 on the Run scored versus runs allowed differential as I mentioned home 48 and 27 at home 40 and 34 away uh currently they won their last game they're four and six on the last 10 so they are kind of Hit or Miss right now they got a greater than 99.9% chance of making the playoffs the Padres right there hanging with them three and a half games back Padre's are good on the road good away I mean this is there these two teams right here are going to be a problem in the NL um in the postseason postseason excuse me plus 85 on the runs scored versus runs allowed differential uh currently on a three- game winning streak six and four in their last 10 98.7% chance of making the playoffs then you have the Diamondbacks still in it they're in third third in their division they're 83 and 66 five games back um great on the road great at home that's something about these teams right these teams are even like the Giants are good at home they just struggled really bad on the road Diamond Backs 42 and 33 at home 41 and 33 away plus 95 on the runs scored versus runs allowed uh won their last game they're five and five though in their last 10 89.2% chance of making the playoffs uh Giants they'll get like I said they'll get the little check the little e next to their name here in the probably within the week because they'll be eliminated they're just it just run out of time right um they have been fun to watch though the Giants and there you go there's your standings for the American League and the national league um just taking a peek at it you know I'm excited to see the Yankees and oral I'd like to see them go up against each other in the um ALCS I think the Guardians can make a case Astros I don't think they get past the divisional series if you know what I mean and we'll talk more about that when I pull up the the Wild Card Standings now in the National League Phillies and Dodgers man I wouldn't be surprised if the Padre's make a run but give me the Phillies love to see them play in the uh nldd NLCS excuse me I really don't care who they go against the Dodgers or the Brewers um I think the Dodgers would be kind of cool you got to go East Coast West Coast a lot of flying involved in that um yeah a lot of miles you got to put on those players but uh let's take a look at the wild card we'll start with the a obviously the Yankees have the East lock well not locked up let's just say at the moment right now September 16th the Yankees are that got the lead in the East Guardians lead in the the central Astros in the west now I was taking a peek at this the standings this is mlb.com standing wildcard and I noticed a little something it just popped up out of nowhere all these teams have good home records right 42 and 33 45 and 27 42 and 32 right um decent away records with the exception of the Astros they're they're three games above 500 on the road but when they play against teams with a better than 500 a greater than 500 record the Yankees are 51 and 33 the Guardians are 46 and 42 the Astros are 35 and 38 so that means they're not good against good teams right the Yankees are good against everybody the Guardians are decent against everybody uh against good teams and I was it dropped down into wild card and I was like okay see Baltimore is obviously leading in the Wild Card they're um 41- 38 along uh excuse me 41- 38 against teams that are greater than 500 The Royals are 41- 48 not that great buddy and then um the twins are 36 and 49 it does show you as well that the Royals have played a better quality of teams throughout the season right just the way it is they played some tough teams but uh anyways again Orioles plus four uh four and a half games on the Wild Card Royals plus 2 and 1 half games twins even and here's your AL Wild Card they're they're you know the people who are close let's just say that I'm not going to go all the way down because some of these teams have been eliminated uh Tigers two and a half games back Seattle two and a half games back white socks or excuse me Red Sox White Sox are eliminated baby don't even worry about that Red Sox 4 and a half games um Rays I'm going to say the Rays because I want to say the Blue Jays and the Rangers as well Ray 6 and 1/2 games back Blue Jays 7 and 1/2 Rangers 8 and 1/2 for me I don't think there's enough time or effort or even a chance for Tampa Bay Toronto or Texas to make it there's no way there's not enough games Red Sox will go have to go on a tear they're currently um playing against Tampa Bay so they got a game against them tomorrow Tigers play against Kansas City today and then the Mariners got to play New York tomorrow doesn't really bode well for the Mariners um the Red Sox might get a little bit of a bump because they get to play against Tampa even though Tampa no sloucher 73 and 77 but uh both these teams are really trying to gear up and get into the wild card the Tigers have a chance but they're they're running into Kansas City Kansas City does not want to slip out of the Wild Card obviously um be interesting to see how this pans out but yeah it just uh it's just running out of time it's mid September so flipping over to the NL obviously the the Phillies in the East Dodgers in the west Brewers in the central uh again taking a look at these games or the the teams against uh 500 um their record against greater than 500 teams Phillies 41 and 33 Dodgers 43 and 38 Brewers 39 and 31 so solid I mean Dodgers kind of you know don't really struggle but they're pretty close they're they're five games above 500 on that you know and where you have the Brewers where they're eight games above and then um the Phillies they're uh they're eight games up as well flipping over to the Wild Card you got Padre's at plus 350 or plus 350 I got the money lines in my head from uh the the NFL uh Sunday uh Padre's are three and a half games up Diamondbacks two games up Braves and Mets right there at the cut line and then you got the Cubs five games back St Louis seven games back Reds nine games back Giants nine and a half games back so this is kind of you know you know essentially the there's no way I don't think the Cubs can make a run they are getting to play Oakland for a series that begins today which is good for them I mean maybe they can make up some ground and then the Braves have trouble against the Dodgers they play the Dodgers today and then the Mets play Washington so it just yes hell could break loose and the Cubs somehow sneak in but I think they're the only team that has a chance to even get into the the the wild card but the Braves and the Mets are going to have to follow fall apart I think the Diamondbacks and the Padres have this those two locked down so it's going to be the Braves or the Mets to either win it or lose it on against they'll be beating themselves essentially but um you know when you take a look as I mentioned in the AO you know I think the Orioles are going to have a hell of a run and so are the rain uh the the Royals and Orioles no one else I I fear around this area I don't think the twins are going to have some crazy postseason run where they're like oh yeah you know they just get hot like the Rangers did last year and just start tearing through the Al I think the AL is just stacked with the Yankees the Guardians the Orioles the Royals it's just stacked right and then you flip over to the NL I think the Wild Card teams the Padres or the diamond bats could make a run and disrupt the entire NL postseason the Dodgers and Phillies they're just studs I think they're going to just they should make it right the money is on them to make it to the NLCS I think the Phillies I got to look up and see actual money lines um or um what the betting odds are next time but you know the Padres and Diamondbacks could get in here get hot and wreck the NL absolutely so I think it's going to be I'm more interested in watching the NL especially the wild card and the DS the NL DS series um because I just kind of feel like the the AL is just between two teams maybe three but it's going to be fun can't wait for it um postseason baseball October baseball is so amazing so much fun to watch and I love doing these little re I like doing Recaps and standings and whatnot and as the postseason as we get close to postseason I'll try to do a weekly show but um you know as we when we get into the actual postseason they'll be a little bit more active um you know talking about each series and whatnot but hey uh y'all have a great week happy Monday to you and uh hey thanks for listening by
