um what's your favorite thing at the fair uh two things well obviously the food and I don't have a favorite it's I got to walk around and then when it comes to me it comes to me but I mean I will always get a corn dog prano pup before I leave for sure but I but I got to search it out and dog or if the line's too long I mean I'll always go prano PP but if the line's shorter I might have to sneak in a corn dog some good lines for the Pano P this uh new foods you you chase the new foods at all n I'll I'll check them out you know but I I'm a traditionalist you know I I'm not going to waste calories on something unless I'm sure that something I want I'm going to be picky and is there anything but I'm but I'm going to get my calories no question yeah is there anything that's a must do for you and the family I mean beond the food well I I you know my my son and I we're going to head up we we're with all the equipment all the the big toys up up in that corner so we can spend a whole day up there walking through that and then of course the live the livestock and the birthing suite and uh kind of those two corners of the fair is where we spend most of our time and it's a good way to burn off the calories in between you got it yeah yeah um all right anything else Fair related that you want to throw out or Traditions just the big just the tradition to come to this to the fair like we we've all been doing it our whole life heck when I was a young college kid I worked here so I used to park cars in one of the Lots in the hoit lot and uh so I I but and if you're from Minnesota you've been here and it's part of your you got to get here every year it's part of the DNA for sure yeah all right uh the season coming up schedule just dropped yeah long home stretch in there what are your thoughts no Road we're on the road to start to start from you're home from like mid November to mid January or something yeah well we got to yeah that's where I'm looking at the other way right now I mean the schedule's the schedule every year I I don't ever get worked up either way but we're going to get tested right away you know we go out to Las Vegas to start the the Icebreaker tournament with Air Force UMass and Omaha and that then we turn around come home we go up to duth for two uh and then we've got our first home game with St Thomas and then we play St Thomas at the XL Center so you know we're we're going to be in unfamiliar territory for five of our first six games uh but I like that for our team to get started that way and then we do then we turn around and you know you're a little ahead of me to get to November and December when we're at home but we we've got to plow through the ear early part of our schedule but we've got the team that can do it this year so and I know you said you're not looking ahead but is that too long without a road game uh no I mean I I don't break it down that way you the segments we we we'll go in four or six game segments and that's how we fight through our schedule and how you feeling about the team this year uh it's uh I always say the first test that I like to read is the eyeball test and the eyeball test right now is awful good um starts one leadership got great leadership on our our group and that's just been continually handed down you know since I've got here you know the Sammy Walker to Brock Faber to Jackson Nelson and now you know the new group of guys that are going to you know returning with Mike ker and never and then some of our young our sophomore class last year it's becoming Juniors we've got tremendous leadership we got depth all over our lineup um we got a chance to be awful special and we know it but we've got to we got to have a starting point get this thing going is there more pressure having four first rounders on your team no I mean when you coach in Minnesota you're going to have the pressure every year so it's never different but that's you know when you take the job I can just tell you I look more at the group that we've got uh and the excitement as far outweighs anything from a pressure to get this thing started you're pretty excited y very excited about this group you're you excited just to get going and yeah I mean I I you know the the state fair kind of has put the end of the summer you know and then our kids are moving in this weekend and we start school after Labor Day there's you know that that first month is a lot of meetings a lot of acclamation I can tell you I don't look forward to a lot of that I love it when we get going and we get in our routine but we've got to go through this this early phase until we get going get in our routine and that's what I look forward to the most
