of a six week and a half old baby named Leon cats and they are seeking the death penalty so let's go ahead and talk about it and this happened in Pennsylvania in June a student faces execution if she's convicted of murdering her friend's six week old son while babysitting him and that was said by the prosecutors Nicole verie 29 years old has been charged with murdering 6 and 1/2 week old Leon cats while she babysat him at at the family's Pittsburgh home in June now the police alleged she is responsible for inflicting a fracture to his skull and several bleeds on the brain picked up by a CT scan she also accused of injuring Leon's twin brother Ari who survived now according to the court documents that were obained by the news Outlet District Attorney's office is seeking the death penalty against Bersy the filing which laid out the reasons for seeking the death penalty reads the defendant committed the killing while in the perpetration of a felony the offense was committed by means of torture the defendant has a significant history of felony convictions involving the use or threat of violence to the person the victim was a child Under 12 years old further details of these previous convictions were not shared a public records check for verie only showed you know up up to the details of the charges she faces over Leon's killing now verie was a trusted friend of the baby's parents Ethan Katz and Savannah Roberts who was watching the twins while on her college break her Father Peter Jersy is a top Cardiologist affiliated with Mount sa doctors and Manhattan and is certified by the American Board of Eternal medicine Internal Medicine excuse me the accused killer was continuing to babysit tiny Leon while his parents were up were at the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh with his twin brother Ari after ver say she spotted an injury on his groin area and this is said by the police she told the cops that she had gone into the kitchen to to get the baby a bottle when she suddenly heard screaming when she returned she said the baby had fallen out of his bouncer chair she then called 911 now he's 6 and 1/2 weeks old and he's sitting in a bouncer chair and she said he fell out of it h the injury sustained by both twins are consistent with having been sustained as a result of child abuse as these are inflicting injuries that are not natural and not accidental a doctor told investigators according to the court filings and remember she was a trusted friend of Ethan and [Music] Savannah bery has denied any wrongdoing and her lawyer maintains her innocence she is charged with homicide child child endangerment and AG assault cops have yet to share a motive for the horrific crime now a video posted days before the PHD student allegedly you know um unal lived her friend's baby shows her discussing a paper she wrote about depression in women in the video shared by the heart and mind academic journal on June 13th Nicole FY is wearing a white Blazer and comes it happens and it did happen but then anyway that's all I want to share about this case and when I find out more information I will let you guys know but she had some trouble in the past she had some type of work or way he works at but we just have to wait and see what's going on we just going to have to wait and see but something like this can affect the whole family and they are seeking the death penalty and they gave their reasons why they are seeking the death penalty and this is in Pittsburgh you know like I said every state you [Music] know have their rules have their laws some you
