THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR STAYING WITH US ON THIS ALERT DAY STEVE. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE REALLY WANTED TO DEAL WITH ON A FRIDAY. BUT THINGS ARE HOPEFULLY LOOKING UP FOR THE REST OF THE WEEKEND. >> YEAH, THE WEEKEND WILL HAVE DRASTIC IMPROVEMENTS. AMY. NOTHING LIKE WHAT WE'RE DEALING WITH TODAY. IT REALLY DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU ARE, HOW BAD OR NOT BAD THE CONDITIONS ARE. SOME OF YOU ARE LIKE, IT'S NOT SO BAD OUTSIDE OTHER. OTHERS OF YOU ARE LIKE, WOW, THIS IS REALLY, REALLY TOUGH STUFF. SO WE'LL BREAK DOWN THE SPOTS THAT ARE EXPECTED TO GET THE WORST IMPACTS HERE FOR THE REST OF TODAY, AND THEN MOVE ON TO YOUR WEEKEND FORECAST. SO WHAT WE'RE WATCHING IN THE WEATHER DEPARTMENT? YES SEVERE STORMS STILL POSSIBLE. OF COURSE. WE'VE BEEN REALLY HIGHLIGHTING THAT EMPHASIS ON THE POSSIBILITY OF SOME ISOLATED TORNADOES. WE HAD TORNADO WARNINGS THIS MORNING. IF YOU WERE WITH FIRST ALERT METEOROLOGIST TIM WILLIAMS AND MEG MCNAMARA, THEY WERE ON TOP OF THOSE CARROLL COUNTY WARNINGS AND HOWARD COUNTY RIGHT NOW, THE FOCUS THIS AFTERNOON SHIFTING TO THE EAST. SO THE EASTERN SHORE COMMUNITIES, COASTAL FLOODING. UNFORTUNATELY WE'RE NOT GOING TO GET RID OF THAT TOO QUICKLY. IT LOOKS LIKE WE STILL HAVE A FEW MORE HIGH TIDE CYCLES TO GO, ESPECIALLY IN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY AND UP IN HARFORD COUNTY. BUT THE TAKEAWAY HERE IS BY THE TIME WE GET TO THE WEEKEND, MUCH NICER WEATHER BUILDING IN, THE HUMIDITY GOES WAY DOWN AND WE'RE GOING TO BE LOOKING AT SOME REALLY ENJOYABLE NON-DRAMATIC WEATHER. SO A BIG CHANGE FROM WHEN YOU WERE WATCHING THIS MORNING. THE TORNADO WATCH HAS BEEN DROPPED IN AND AROUND THE BALTIMORE METRO, BASICALLY JUST LIVES ON HERE FOR KENT COUNTY. QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY, CAROLINE AND TALBOT COUNTY. THEY ALWAYS SAY IN AND AROUND THE WATCH AREA. SO WE'LL WATCH CECIL COUNTY AS WELL. BUT THE MAIN EMPHASIS OF THE ROTATING STORMS IS NOW PUSHING OFF TO THE EAST. SO THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO SHOW YOU ON THE RADAR PICTURE. JUST SOME GENERIC RAIN RIGHT NOW WITH SOME GUSTY WINDS IN AND AROUND THE BALTIMORE METRO INSIDE THE BELTWAY, TOWSON UP TOWARD COCKEYSVILLE, OUT TOWARDS TANEYTOWN AND MOUNT AIRY IN CARROLL COUNTY, WHERE YOU'VE ALREADY HAD A LOT OF RAIN. IT'S THIS LINE OF STORMS WILL KEEP A VERY CLOSE EYE ON. THAT'S WHERE THE SPIN IS. AND ONCE THIS LINE CLEARS, THAT'S WHEN REALLY THE TORNADO THREAT WILL END. BUT YOU CAN SEE IT'S TAKING ITS SWEET OLD TIME MOVING TO THE EAST, BASICALLY MOVING SOUTH TO NORTH. SO WE'LL WATCH THE EASTERN SHORE COMMUNITIES. WE'RE PROBABLY NOT DONE WITH THE TORNADO THREAT JUST YET. COASTAL FLOODING HAS BEEN A REALLY BIG DEAL HERE, AS THE WINDS HAVE BEEN PUSHING THE BAY WATER UP THROUGH 6:00 THIS EVENING. COASTAL FLOOD WARNING FOR HARFORD COUNTY. WE'VE BEEN SEEING LEVELS 2 TO 3FT OF WATER ABOVE DRY GROUND BALTIMORE CITY, BALTIMORE COUNTY, THROUGH ABOUT 2:00 THIS AFTERNOON AND ARUNDEL COUNTY, THE WORST OF IT THROUGH FOUR IN THE MORNING TOMORROW WITH THIS EVENING'S HIGH TIDE RIGHT AROUND 8 P.M. GOING TO BE TOUGH. AND THEN LAST BUT NOT LEAST, INTO KENT COUNTY. YOU'RE WARNING THROUGH THREE IN THE MORNING ON SATURDAY. WE'VE SEEN DAMAGE REPORTS UP IN HARFORD COUNTY FROM SOME OF THOSE GUSTY WINDS. YOU CAN SEE THOSE STORMS BLEW DOWN SOME TREES DOWN THERE. AND THEN CARROLL COUNTY REALLY THE EMPHASIS OF THE HEAVY RAIN, THE GAME CHANGER RIGHT HERE. THIS BLUE LINE IS A COLD FRONT THAT WILL END THE WORST OF THE WEATHER. 81 IN TOWN RIGHT NOW FEELS LIKE 87 VERY TROPICAL OUTSIDE UPPER 80S TO NEAR 90. BUT THE WINDS ARE STILL GUSTING OUT THERE. BUT HERE'S YOUR WEEKEND FORECAST. FOCUS ON THE GOOD STUFF HERE BECAUSE WE HAVE, AS YOU CAN SEE, THE RAVENS GAME TONIGHT. IF YOU'RE GOING TO THAT HAVE A RAIN PONCHO FOR A LEFTOVER SHOWER. STORM WEEKEND LOOKS AWESOME. UPPER 8
