Cleveland weather: Sunshine and pleasant for the Browns game with temps in mid 60s

Now we got to talk about that weather. I mean, we were hearing the rain coming down on those tents out there and uh just take a look at this camera behind us. I mean, it just can't really see much, we can hear it on our roof here uh at the studio. So obviously, it's a strata form steady rain across downtown Cleveland. Right now, we do have some areas that are experiencing heavier rain. Also the threat for some lightning. This will continue through nine pm for all of northern Ohio, but we're gonna shift it eastward as the evening goes on. Big thing here, have shelter nearby, not a problem to go out to football games tonight, get your slickers on, get the, you know, your rain suits and all the fun things. Uh But just be really aware and if you start to see lightning head to your car because you're definitely gonna wanna take shelter. The radar is definitely lighting up with scattered showers and a few embedded thunderstorms. 15 minute lightning strikes only at eight considering all this rain that we have going on. That's pretty good. The heaviest rain right now is coming down in eastern sections of Cuyahoga County, western portions of Lake County. We go in closer and you could see a track on this. Men are about 4, 19 or so. 421 for Paynesville, North Madison. 4 32 4 36 for Leroy, 442 for Geneva. And then of course, we put Trumbo Austinburg Harts Grove, those areas into that as we head on into, uh, the five o'clock hour, this batch of rain is just a really good downpour, maybe a couple rumbles of thunder in it, but nothing that is uh showing any signs of an uptick in wind at this point. No hail in there either. We do have that steady rain that is coming down. That Stephanie mentioned there's downtown Cleveland right there. What I want you to see though is that that same thunderstorm or shower that's headed over toward Lake County at this point is moving in a little bit different direction than the rain that is farther to the west. So this is a sign that we are in transition mode right now. And that's why I don't think we have a thunderstorm threat west of Cleveland at this point is just a good old fashioned downpour and the back edge of that downpour is beginning to move on to the 480 Corridor. So we will be seeing clearing conditions downtown Cleveland and along the Lake shore areas for all the football games going on. It doesn't mean we will be rain free for the rest of the night, but at least that steady rain will move out heavier showers now ongoing around Doyles town and up into uh portions of Norton and Barberton at this point, Kenmore, probably getting some heavy rain. This will continue to move into downtown Akron and not too long of a time, we also have a heavy shower that is right now right around Bolivar and Zor that has been producing some lightning and thunder that will move over through East Sparta and into areas uh around Carrollton in about the next half hour to hour. So definitely uh a few downpours to keep an eye on. But for the most part, we are not expecting the widespread severe thunderstorms. Thank goodness. Uh that could have happened as we have a very strong cold front coming in. The winds of change are already beginning to move into the northwestern part of the state. Rain cooled air is definitely evident here, we've got temperatures in the upper sixties where it is raining 88 degrees in tropical Dover right now. Friends. That is where the cold front sits. It's farther to the south and we will see a much different picture come tomorrow in northern Ohio as a reinforcing shot of air dives south and drops our temperatures. So as far as our hour by hour forecast from National Design Marcos, we'll continue with these scattered showers, rumbles of thunder through the evening, we could see an uptick, especially south. If you are south of Canton heads up, you may end up getting more thunderstorms as the evening goes on. However, the overall rain threat will really diminish from west to east after nine o'clock tonight. By tomorrow morning, we are going to be dealing with scattered lake effect rain showers at the same time that we're seeing peaks of sun in northern Ohio. But I do think we we will have periodic showers especially downwind of the lake. So those long riders that are in Veloz Sano and that are doing the big miles out to the east. You're probably gonna run into some of those scattered lake effect showers. So by Sunday, then we're clearing out much better conditions moving in temperatures in the upper sixties and next week in your union home mortgage forecast friends, we accept flowers and cookies, we accept all kinds of gifts because I'm setting you up for a beautiful summary week.
