so poorly that they want to do that all over again I can't get behind somebody who maybe I agree with certain policies on but their character is atrocious and lacks complete leadership she conveyed the calm she she conveyed a preparation vice president Harris clearly won the debate in terms of her delivery her polish and her preparation the moment of the debate if there was one I think was uh was when she baited him on the rallies people saw oh actually she's an intelligent capable person who has a point of view on issues and she uh she demonstrated that time and again she was composed she was prepared she kept her cool she saw advantages she took them Donald Trump look old tonight this is the difference between someone who's well prepared and someone who's unprepared whoever did debate prep for Donald Trump should be fired truly a a difficult [Music] night they're unvetted illegal immigrants over 11 million that they have allowed into this country the illegals that Kamala wants to Americans do do this they limit their intake of information to that which comports with their pre-existing beliefs and narratives it's a booming business websites cable channels that generally only interview folks from one party or the other with anchors openly rooting for one candidate or the other what we saw last night with Mr Trump however is something far more nefarious it's evidence of someone not just stuck in an information but a misinformation Silo the most notorious evidence of that last night came with this outrageous and more than a little bit racist lie about Haitians in one town in Ohio in Springfield they're eating the dogs the people that came in they're eating the cats they're eating they're eating the pets of the people that live there this must be the craziest subject to ever rear its head in American presidential debate Trump latched onto this dark corners of the internet claim with zero supporting evidence Springfield City officials tell CNN there have been no credible reports of pets being harmed injured or abused by people within the Immigrant Community conservative commentator Eric Ericson noted quote the Liars on the right got Trump to regurgitate their lie he could have focused on the actual problems in Springfield but ran with the LIE from the idiots on social media unquote Trump is actually traveling with some of these folks conspiracy Peddlers we should not a veritable Legion of Doom of bigots and Liars perhaps none so depraved as this woman Laura lommer here she is getting off of Trump's plane before yesterday's debate just on Sunday she posted an insanely insanely racist message that if Harris whose mom was an Indian immigrant wins quote the White House will smell like Curry and White House speeches will be facilitated via a call center unquote on this 23rd anniversary of 911 we should also note lommer posted last year that 911 was a quote Inside Job unquote Trump continues to bring this person Along on his Trav with with him why I don't know but we should note it's not just lummer who's in Trump's Circle embracing this migrants are eating your cats meme it was also pushed by Trump's running mate Ohio Senator JD Vance and other lawmakers who frankly often seem more motivated by a desire for clicks and owning the libs on social media instead of facts and Truth Vance has acknowledged the possibility quote but all these rumors will turn out to be false unquote but nonetheless he urged his supporters to quote keep the cat memes flowing so to not quote let the crybabies in the media dissuade you fellow Patriots Vance told CNN's Caitlin Collins last night the falsehoods are necessary necessary in order to shame the media into covering these issues the people on the ground dealing with this think that it is happening and I think that it's important for journalists to actually get on the ground and uncover this stuff for themselves wild stuff lies from a senator lies with a higher purpose now the misinformation Silo may be why Trump mostly bypassed all these issues or he could have scored real points against vice president Harris inflation the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal serious actual issues related to the immigration crisis Trump instead sounded like a forchan post come to life which is great if you're going after voters who want a focus on conspiracy theories and unhinged lies but if you're trying to win a debate in an election it's for the dogs just wonder uh you're a pretty smooth debater in your own right uh were you painting for Donald Trump a lot of his biggest supporters say that he just didn't bring his aame to the debate last night Carl Ro saying that the debate between kamla Harris and Donald Trump was a train wreck form do you agree with that you know I I thought or I just watched the pre previous segment that you did with Doris CN who I've known for know at least 40 years and her husband dick a good and who very very close friend since I was a little boy and I think I I I haven't seen a better assessment or more fairly delivered assessment than the one that she gave I think that uh uh vice president Harris clearly won the debate in terms of her delivery her polish uh her organization and and her preparation I think un substance uh president Trump wins in terms of his his governance um and but he didn't tell that story in fact the first question was an extraordinary lost opportunity because as there was a question and I think Doris pointed out that she never answered which is are Americans better four years later and there's really no argument for saying that they are by all the IND by which you measure social deterioration we have double the inflation rate the housing rate have doubled in the last four years there's 15 more 15 million more people in Americans living in poverty we have these enormous suicide rates enormous um uh uh uh overdose rates and we're in two Wars and all of these things can be attributed to the poor leadership from the Biden Harris team and that's the argument that he should have been making but and but he got distracted and uh I think it's unfortunate because he you know I think he really had an air typ tight argument for his presidency but he was not able to make that case to the American public I wonder whether you would advise kamla Harris to have another debate uh or she just sit on this one what do you think I I think she had a great night I think she managed to draw him out on some of the worst of his rambling conspiracy theories and uh backwards looking angry focus and she managed to present a positive and forward-looking agenda I think the American people would like to hear more from both of them about what will you do to make a safer and stronger at home and abroad and I think she should accept an invitation from Fox to come on and debate president Trump what about how you see it going now I mean it always amazes me at this stage that so the the these undecided voters I don't know how many there are you're up on this stuff far more than I am I I I I I I imagine a lot of people's positions are set but a good many are not so I I I I rely on the polls that show that it's a pretty thin layer of undecided Americans at this point do you think that this debate tipped it with independent voters they were going Donald Trump's way I wonder after the debate you still see that being the case uh look I do think that the debate to the extent folks watched the whole debate or got to watch some clips of it moves Independence and undecided in vice president Harris's Direction she seemed and was poised in command confident particularly when she spoke about decisions she's been involved in on the world stage and some of the ways that she challenged Donald Trump about his leadership as president the war in Ukraine the willingness to stand up and fight for Freedom the expansion of NATO investment in our military she was clear and forceful on a number number of important points that would allow an undecided voter who maybe hasn't watched her before paid close attention to say that's someone who could and should be commander-in-chief that's one of the areas where I thought she needed to make a clear showing of her capacity to stand up to Donald Trump to put forward a positive and clear record and to make it clear that she will stand by our troops invest in our military and work to keep the United States safe at home and abroad by strengthening our alliances something she's got real experience doing as vice president so just a quick one how does everybody actually feel about Jake Tapper um because I thought he had a dreadful AB him and Dana Bash had a dreadful debate uh with President Biden and Trump I thought they let Trump do what he liked they didn't do any fact checkin there was no follow-ups there was no push backs in fact to me it was all done to promote the Trump uh soap opera the Trump that's put a reality star as a politician you know it was almost outdoing Fox News uh now Jake tapper's kind of I suppose he's seen that he's uh out of favor and he's trying to put himself back in the right lane does he get a pass that's what I'm asking you is Jake Tapper back in the fold yes or no
