hi friends welcome back to my YouTube channel my name is Ashley Ariana joined by the wonderful Tom Jensen and we're coming to everyone the day after a game because we had a Monday night football game um what was your immediate takeaway how are you feeling today I'm feeling great they looked much better than I thought they would that they got the offense going after the the first series where they had the three and out eight straight scores so it showed they got into Rhythm quickly and more quickly than I expected and the offensive line played great the defensive line stopped the Run they did everything they had to do it's really impressive from the ners um I we talked about this last week but like you always put out keys to the game uh in your articles and I think throughout this entire off season and and we'll get into it like how much you know does one game say about the the entire season I'm not trying to make Grand statements that it's going to be like this forever we have to remember that I feel like I was much more down on this Jets team than everyone else I also wasn't anticipating the 49ers continuing their streak of scoring 30 with pry every time they win um but Mr Corey who's I don't know if he's in the chat yet but he's a regular who listened to us and he did predict that so although I am happy that the 49ers were able to put up so so many points one I think my immediate takeaways were like this actually wasn't the best game that the 49ers could have played I actually I felt like they started kind of slow and even though so they went three and out on that first drive and then they did score on the next eight of their offensive um drives which sounds good but you have to remember you know a lot of those were field goals and they were there were there were opportun for touchdowns we're going to get into I think the star of the game not even I think but obviously the Star of the game Jord Mason later and his amazing production and then you have to think you you know once again highlighted this in your in your article but like he could have even had more numbers if some of his runs weren't taken back by small errors I will say has like a little highlight I did feel like the 49ers had less penalties than I expected one just from watching football on Sunday and kind of understanding that offenses seem to start a little bit slow and the 49ers I did feel like um carried in that Trend which is hilarious because they scored above 30 but at least with how effective they could be it's almost promising because it's like this is this is what they did on a game where they didn't maximize their potential they didn't have all their stars in shape on the field playing to the the best of their ability and they still were able to do this which is incredible and what I love that you highlighted right away is the o o line and the run defense are two things that we were going to this game specifically against a good Jets defense you know Robert Salah very familiar to the 49ers and just knowing that that was a struggle last season been a circle for more than that honestly um and then wasn't addressed to the to our liking this off season um those two areas performed a lot better than I anticipated once again not saying it'll be like that forever but they did but that was my two biggest worries coming into the game is what's the effort line going to look like and what's their run defense going to do and they answered both emphatically saying that no we're fine we're good we dominated it did and I certainly didn't expect that but happy to see it but as you point out there's a lot of room for improvement and so we'll see what they can do going forward it's great um in the chat hi Papa J and hello Daniel hi Papa and what's up Daniel and then I really quickly happy Victory Tuesday everyone and I love this comment and we'll we'll get into game balls a little bit later Tom and I will both talk about our highlights on offense and defense um but I know you know baldi's breakdowns on Twitter um he highlight did some just phenomenal plays with like almost like a little mini High highlight reel just from you know the game so it was only like three plays but of puny and once again again I I don't wna I don't want to speak too soon I always tell myself this like if I'm playing um like Golf and I I do good for like one rap one hole like a lot of golf left a lot of golf left so football get or football's just getting started this is just week one you know we don't even need the 49ers to be hitting their stride for quite a while but yeah I was it looks like they found you know a diamond in the rough third round pick Dominic puny um very very impressed with him so far he look good but we also have to remember that he was playing against Javon kinla he went against Quinn Quinton Williams sometimes right sometimes but most of the game he was playing inlaw see this is this is why it's good to have like your immediate reaction during the game and like right after the game but then you need a night to sleep on it and take in all the information to kind of give a an accurate assess assessment because like during the game you're like P's gonna be an Allstar all proo you know the wrestl league didn't know you get caught up in it because you love it it's a Niner playing well it's a rookie playing great yeah it did look really good you know he was their uh their best run blocker he had an 82 2.1 run block raid from PFF that was the highest in the ners so they had a lot of success running behind puny but that's also a lot of success running at kimla yeah so so context not surprising for to be successful to run at kinla um and that does you know put expectations in in order I will say with puny a positive of something that makes me feel like it's not so of a fluke or a kinlaw situation is that like you said his um his most dominant side of the ball was against the run and that was that was the same during this offseason too he was like very strong against the run which is kind of like atypical for or he I don't know I I just felt like puny did very well in the in the offseason he was better in pass Pro than run blocking which is what made this look even more impressive that he led the team in run block win rate against the Jets so it shows that puny continues to improve and I just I like what we're seeing from the line that they fired off the line well they hit synchronicity quickly and they fired on all five cylinders well and that's something I wasn't expecting and so for p to do that in game one even if it is against kinlaw it's still a great sign that yeah he deserves his start and he's going to play well berford uh win in because Aaron Banks had an injury mid game did you hear um Jordan Elliott who writes for NS MBC um asked spford how it felt for him to be back on that side of the offensive line because he played on that side all during out during college and then the 49ers had shifted his position and he said he felt a lot more comfortable there so I felt like hopefully the 49ers you know um have their antennas up and obviously Maybe we'll see because I think they're going to probably have to let Aon Banks go in free agency he's going to be too expensive relative to everyone else they want to keep with Mooney Ward and Lenor and Greenlaw so we'll see what happens with him but I thought that the plan was that puny would go to left guard because that's where he played in College of Kansas most of his time was left guard and for Spencer bford most of his time at Texas San Antonio was left tackle not he still said he felt better on the right side he felt more comfortable yeah I mean on that left side on the left side so it it might be that they have to have that they could look long term at berford if he plays well berford left puny right but my thinking coming into the year was puny next year to left guard because that's where he's most comfortable that's where he played the most snaps in Kansas okay I wonder why why did the 49ers like consistently DRFT these offensive linemen and then change their position or like change the side of the ball there on it depends on the skill set in burford's case they thought that he wouldn't be able to handle playing in an island and pass pro at tackle okay and that he was better off moving inside and they also liked his athleticism profile just in general and thought that that lended itself better to PL guard there's people that are debating that um yeah coach thinks that berford might be better at tackle and he knows o line so I trust his op opion but uh I'm I'm with Invader that I think that the Niners first instinct on berford was correct that he can't play on an island in pass protection at tackle in the NFL okay that's fair and I will say Invader also says puny is the best offensive lineman that shahan has ever drafted since TR Williams um this true but that's a really low bar Al also it's also it's been one game to be to be fair for expectations there's two things one that doesn't mean you're that impressive and two um I love how excited everyone is however temper expectations I and I'm not trying to be Downer I do we'll get into it probably at the very end but I I think that they'll have success in Minnesota um 49er poker says never like judging a line when they get to run block so much we'll see how it holds up long term but best possible start even berford looked better on the left side um I agree that berford looked better on the left side and that's why I was bringing up Jordan uh Elliott asking berford about that switch that is where he played in college and he said he felt a lot more comfortable there now maybe you know long term he's just not cut out to be a starter but if you're going to be throwing him in as a backup at least it was nice to see how he performed on that side of the ball um as a depth piece and can you explain this to me a little bit um why why do you think the line might be different in a more pass heavy game just because like certain guys like uh well so you mean why would bord you know what are you what are you getting at with that question Ashley I'm sorry I don't understand what you're driving at 49er poker says never like judging an offensive line when they get to run block so much so is he just kind of saying if like we'll see how it holds up in past protection okay yeah yeah so his point is that to really evaluate an offensive Line's ability you need to see them run block pass block and what they can do in in both ways in both ways if are they balanced um do they have the skill set to do both well where are they weak are to me I also evaluate synchronicity if is their timing completely together there's one play in particular around the 10minute mark a little bit earlier in the second quarter all five go at a right angle out fire out and all of them were in perfect timing perfect s it was impressive okay that makes sense that makesense Invader says oh Kyle and Mike Shanahan okay then that's not as low a bar as I thought I was just going by Kyle yeah perfect Kyle has drafted it is kind of yeah okay I I Mike okay I I get your point now I missed the plural plural on that one um I might want to move off the o o line a little bit like I said they perform better than I anticipated yeah I did anticipate that they would perform very poorly so that's you know and I'm I'm not uh I don't have them as you know the top top unit on on my grade right now I just I would give them like a b B minus because yeah well I I think that because you they had so many holes for Mason that I would give him a b okay is because the they won their matchup and they won it convincingly Mason had holes Mason ran well and the offensive line played it played a solid game there's a couple times when the Jets got in there to pressure pretty but it wasn't that often and so I think the ners were fine but I liked what I saw from them and I thought that uh Trent play played well one more St that that um supports that is Jordan Mason gained 94 yards before contact last night so and that speaks to the line yeah it speaks to the line it speaks to Kyle shanan both of them um I did I did think Kyle far out coached Salah and the and the Jets offensive and defensive coordinator I thought the Jets weren't prepared they look for as much should have as we've given uh Kyle and all you know I think deservedly so he is a very very good coach and I felt like he put on a a masterpiece in how he we have to give him a lot of credit because this offense hadn't been together since Super Bowl they had one week one week of practice and you know after the first series they score in the next eight that's impressive work that's knowing what you need to do in practice and his Invader says Chris Forester is one of the best o coaches absolutely you you I think that Forester is is quite good and I would just like to see the Niners give him more Talent me look at what puny has done and puny was one of many in this offensive line class where this was the best o class in a decade imagine if You' spent more picks on offensive line look what puny has done what else could someone else have done absolutely um okay I do want to move off of the offensive line to I think before we talk about the injury report or maybe we'll we'll talk about the injury report because it'll bring us into talking about Jordan Mason um today Kyle shanan did talk earlier this afternoon and looks like Chris mcaffrey has a killes CAF tendonitis um this feels like it's the same and I don't know how Kyle has avoided giving a straight answer on this he was asked it by Grant last um right before the game and then he was asked it again today but I think Matt baros and has yet to give like a yes or no response but this does feel like a continuation of the week 17 injury where he pulled himself out of the game mid game because he had a what we thought was a calf strain at the time he then did not play week 18 but the 49ers already had that weak One Secured I think people didn't really think much of it because of that and also because Christian talked very high like he was like you know I could play if I wanted to type of thing um then he played throughout the playoffs something to recognize and I thought it was just because going against against um higher quality defenses in the playoffs but Christian's um I was gonna say progress Christian did slip a little bit in how in performance in the playoffs now he was going against harder defenses but also so now we know he was battling through that injury that entire time he takes the entire offseason to both rehab and recover from that you know probably lots of rest lots of tissue work all that stuff flares up again after OTAs and pretty worrisome because it those that's um what a what a strain is and tendonitis is small micros microscopic tears and with lots of rest and lots of less work like I I'm someone who I got uh tendonitis in my calves after I I had fractured them in college when I was running track and I like could not run the same at the same volume for over a year and then to this day when I like I can run and do activities now but if I there was I went through a phase where I wanted to run a marathon anytime I got now in college mind you I was running like 90 mile weeks because I was on the track team um and that was just like what you did for prep sure if I if I get to 40 mile weeks if I start running like more than three days a week more than five miles each time my my shs will flare up to the St your party would let you know yeah that's true and like i' I've just gotten older and I wore down th those areas so what scares me for Christian is he has a lot of usage on those muscles now I obviously I don't want to compare it too much these are athletes with millions of dollars and um organizations that are heavily invested in these players and getting the top medical scientists to to help them but it does worry me Christian is 28 gonna be 29 he has been struggling with this for apparently over an entire offseason didn't help um like that that's multiple months of rest that didn't give him a solid foundation to even get to game one now he talked on Friday and also John Lynch talked on Friday early in the morning both of them said that they were pretty confident that he was going to be able to play in the game yeah then on Saturday Kyle shenan comes out calls him questionable even just now Christian mcaffrey um early today when Kyle talked apparently Christian told him if it was a playoff game he would have been able to go but they only rested him just for you know the just for safety reason which I'm glad precautionary yeah I'm glad I'm glad they did that but this this worries me long term for chrishan mcaffrey is this going to be something where week to week he has to decide is this a game where it's worth it to push it and if I do push it maybe I'm an aggravated it can't play the next week yeah yeah well would play against the Vikings because it's a short week but yeah well and and it's travel and it's Turf and you Minnesota doesn't have the best Turf either so I would I would hold him out I would keep Christian in reserve and have him fully rested or as rested as he can be going into the the game against the Rams at Sofi in week three because that's when they're really going to need so you know I would let Christian sit for another week There's a sports doc on Twitter that said his diagnosis is mcaffrey has acute tendonitis okay so that means the wear and tear of the tendon long term and that the tendon is inflamed and it as you pointed out that he might have interstitial tear tears within the Achilles tendon and so that can all be a problem where it's just you can deal with one thing with rest but you can't necessarily get through all of it and just get to a point where you're really clean that it's always going to be this lingering long-term issue and I think that's going to be the case long term for this season for Christian is that he's gonna have to be careful about it and fortunately Jordan Mason has just proved himself and so the Niners can confidently say we don't have to play Christian mcaffry to win we can win without him and we just did against a good defense not against a good run defense but against a good D and I think that they'll have plenty of confidence going forward but yeah Christian's going to have to be careful because you have an injury like this all it takes is just one play and boom you're done for the year yeah and that's something they have to be very careful of is that you've got to be just judicious in how you play mcaffrey and I think part of it is just last year he made this big push to get paid and so he didn't want to come out of games and he had way too many carries and way too many touches and just the wear and tear of all of that volume is is why he's where he's at right now but fortunately the ners are in a position now in terms of the roster where they can manage it so manage it I would be very careful and just pick my spots with maccaffrey part of me wonders like is he going to go on IR would something like that be smart would like what I'm thinking about is Dre green law and because not only do you not want to accidentally plant your foot be trying to break contact to get that you know first down and tear your actual Achilles that's inflamed but you also have the possibility which is what happened to Greenlaw is he was um constantly trying to push through Achilles soreness on his I think it was his right Achilles all season and because of that he was utilizing his left and then tore his left Achilles so some people have this wrong and they think that um kind of like what happened to Rogers last year was during training camp he had a calf flare up and then tore his Achilles on that on that same leg but what happened to Green law was the opposite he was over utilizing the leg that wasn't injured because when you feel pain unconsciously or consciously you're going to start favoring the other leg and you're going to be putting way more strain than you normally would on that so not only are you you know chance saying hurting the the injury that's already flaring up but you also have a chance of hurting a different part of your body that is over compensating compensating in order to get you to tell to do the things that your mind is telling it to do um but super super happy with Jordan Mason will'll go into him and how he does give hopefully Chris you know the 49ers Kenan and Christian the chance to actually rehab and not push him because what people have to remember is they they uh guaranteed Christian McCaffrey's contract this off season which is a whole other issue that the front office and Kyle shanan have to deal with but Christian pushed for it and they thought he earned it so they gave it to him if you're the 49ers you want to be careful because if he hurts his Achilles this year he's out for an entire year then he's coming back with one year left on his years old like you you it's smart for the certain players I feel like this is you know bad but I feel like a team will look at a player and it's like okay well I'm just gonna ride you until the BL breaks fall off then because you know at the end of the year not now yeah no last year they would have this year fortunately they don't have to yeah and I think they have to lean into that and make sure that they're careful with macaffer as JD says that and achilles takes time and it does absolutely and the problem is that even with time and rest it can still be a lingering issue never make it go away so week to week they're just going to have to monitor it and be careful especially ingame to see how Christian's doing and he's going to have a responsibility of the team to be very honest in how he feels if you're feeling any any problem at all in the tendon pull the plug last year when to take him off the field and you know uh maybe split up some of his usage which I'm not going to put this on Christian Kyle you need to be a coach and it doesn't matter if your player doesn't want to come off the field say hey no it's you're up by 30 you can get out of the game now um so that is on on Kyle not Christian but as if if I'm Christian right now you have to take your ego out of it we know you want to be out there on the field but you need to be honest at where you're at and don't push it especially early in you know what I we're in September and I'm not saying winning these games isn't important because I think you want to secure that number one seed what I'm saying is it feels like you can win games with what you have right now and CH when you need your highest weapons or when you're in the playoffs facing the best of the best teams well but in my opinion the division games are going to decide their seed okay so when you're playing division teams you have to go all in especially you know the Rams at Sofi that's one of the most important games of the year yeah Christian needs to play in that game and I think he will um but that'll be that's a he still needs to be very mindful of exactly how his body feels yeah he can't insist on staying in games and he has to be really careful of just where he's at and hopefully the team and Kyle and the medical staff can all monitor that so they could stay right on top agree agree um really quickly because I do want to get to the star of the game Mason but to finish out the injury report from today what Kyle was talking about Aaron Banks calf contusion is why he left the game Jaan Jennings has that ankle injury he was all struggling with that kind of the last couple weeks both of them are going to be daytoday and um haunga D winners gross MOS all have a chance to play this week so pretty good injury I mean that like best you can hope for with that injury report nothing knock on wood super longterm we either have week to week or dayto day injuries aside from obviously the bad news is the Christian mcaffrey news that right honestly we I feel like you and I not that we were trying to predict injury but when it was the off season and he wasn't participating in Camp and they were saying calf you and I were like calf or Achilles because these well it's always both they're connect they're connected and it feels like um these players try to do that uh he should sit for the next two weeks due to field surfaces this what I was interested because you said the ram yes but it's the Rams so I think that not only will Kyle want Christian to play Christian will want Christian to play he knows how important that game is he's gonna want to play yeah I I see what you're saying I I had the same thought as 49er poker here initially is that he would want to wait to not be on Turf but I understand what you mean with the division games being so important it'll be interesting to see where the Rams are at I I watched that Lions Rams game and was more impressed with the defensive defense on both sides that I anticipated being um Matthew staford did had have his ankle wrapped up for a second and I was like damn are we really gonna get that Jimmy Garoppolo game and if something like that's happening I feel like they can sit Christian out yeah yeah there there go the Rams if if Jimmy plays forget it did you see I was really impressed with Stafford though that you had all of those losses on the offensive line hukaa goes down and Stafford still puts the Rams in the lead and then Detroit has that final drive so yeah I was really impressed with Stafford I thought he played exceptionally well Stafford is so mind-boggling to me because he made I there was one of the throws that he they like slowed it down and replayed it and it was just like solely him in Cooper cup making something out of nothing getting a first down it was so impressive but then it feels like he impatient at the end of games given the offensive line how can you not be impatient is a true true true true but he th he throws some like I feel like it is very Stafford coded to just throw an insane interception and not only did he throw an interception but he threw an interception that wasn't caught and it reminded me of the tarte one because it was in the guy's chest in his hands oh yeah it it was it was gift wrapped yeah and but to be fair uh Jared goof also threw an insane interception and then I felt like the the um lines at the end there I didn't understand what they were doing at the very end right sorry to get into this but if you watched it I want your input right before they went into overtime there was like 30 seconds left or something and they just for three straight drives they didn't run they were they were just like passing and it didn't make any sense to me because I thought they could have won if they because they were doing so good in their run game I yeah I I guess that they thought that it wouldn't get them enough yardage to put them in a scoring position okay okay that's fair that's fair something like that but you look at the overtime and just say that you know both teams were gassed and then the the Lions just said okay we've got the edged offensive line we're just going to plow him that Montgomery guy that yeah we now know after week one that yeah there's two teams in the league that have a great tandem at running back Detroit and the ners yeah it'll be interesting they they match up later on this season right yeah can I ask another side note question why did the the Chiefs and Ravens play like it was like a a rematch of that matchup why did they play early on in the season but they had the Lions vers Rams instead of the Lions versus Niners like the NFC matchup I guess they're playing Market sizes and it's networks will just look at which markets do we want to draw upon and who's a good matchup and and who's going to draw a big audience okay Baltimore Kansas City was a great matchup last year in the conference Championship so you can see how that would go and for the Niners in Detroit I would prefer that they play later in the year anyway perfect perfect okay we're gonna get to the most important part of of yesterday's game sorry for all those side notes um and I can't believe we haven't mentioned him I mean we've alluded to him but Jordan Mason he had 29 touches in his first career start um depending on on who you've looked at I've heard anywhere from 147 yards so I put down 152 yards one touchdown could have been two touchdowns but Kyle Shanahan gave Deo Samuel the first touchdown which was kind of hilarious because I felt like Mason got him all the way down there well took the one touchdown and run away when he had the 17 yard TD run and then dbo had the holding go true true true true but I mean just a dominant Force he led the NFL in missed tackles um like I said earlier he had and impressively so don't just let that stat go by Next Gen stats had this today that Mason had 13 forced Miss tackles second in the league is James Conor of Arizona he had eight that's crazy pretty good that's really really impressive part of that is the Jets you know they were seventh in the league in in most missed tackles so they do that but it's also Jordan Mason just being violent just going after guys and making things work absolutely um I feel like as Jordan Mason supporters and most of the fan base has turned into uh It Feels Like Jordan Mason supporters but I'm thinking about like last year year when Kyle was asked why Mason wasn't the number two and that following game Elijah Mitchell got a half and yeah Mason has consistently averaged between seven and five yards per carry in every game he's played and a lot of these touches were at the end of games when the other team knew that the Niners were just going to try to run the ball out um he runs angry aggressive punish and I feel like maybe there was a a question that like is it when he's being played is it the fact that other the teams are so clu in on Christian mcaffrey you know like if it was all on him could he really continue that workload well he got the biggest workload I think in multiple years we got the answer to that one yes yeah yeah it's just he killed it and and so we'll see how that goes but uh I think that Mason was running for an audience of one as I wrote In My article and he was looking to convince Kyle that I need to be part of a twack system in this offense and he was that good yeah and you've got a thunder and lightning combo like Detroit has with Gibbs and Montgomery like even if Christian comes back do not bury me I'm right he needs to be more than just the the the guy to close it out where it says okay end of the game we're going to give him five touches no and as you're referring to two before where Mason had like a six-yard average and then Shanahan would deflect it and say well yeah but that was garbage time against you know second and third string guys he would always find something and then Grant was the one that asked him the question so naturally what does Kyle do in the next game he givs the ball to Elijah just like stubborn Kyle really and now Mason has forced the issue and proven that we were all correct about Jordan Mason from the beginning that he was a great player that he needed more opportunities than he got but now he's fresh he's ready and since Christian is gonna have an iffy go of it this year throughout the season Niners are lucky that they have Jordan Mason ready to go and they just proved to Kyle in the world that he's a great running back now what I will say when I was watching the game in real time and especially in the beginning uh the beginning half first quarter second quarter they were giving Deo Samuel a lot of carries in the back field I didn't like that not working they I don't know what creativity was happening with with Mike McDaniel I don't know if there was another wrinkle that he could have came up with but or or if the league just figured out whatever they were doing and it doesn't work anymore deo's great with the ball in his hands you got to you got to throw it to him you know at the line of scrimmage and let him run but that back field isn't working as much so what was interesting when I was watching I was like just give it to Jordan Mason he's killing it give it all to him now that the game has passed and I'm in a reasonable head space Jordan Mason had I think the most catches of any running back in multiple years with the 49ers including since Frank Gore most areas in the game since Gore so that tells you the usage rate so to go to somebody ex going to Debo is not the answer no Isaac Reno Debo got lighter and so he's not going to be as effective a running back and he's going to go down to power because of it and it makes him more tired as a receiver so I think part of this was gendo wasn't fully healthy and so Kyle didn't know if he could really go to gendo in week one and you for good reason they don't necessarily trust Patrick Taylor as a guy that could just take get on and and do well he's an unknown so they have to see but I think the Debo hopefully is a one week thing where they just look at it and say well we had to do Debo because this snuck up on us late and gendo was hurt and so we did Debo but hopefully next week greno in better health will get more of those touches and we'll see and also Patrick Taylor we'll see what happens with them um quickly in the chat Mitchell Ness asks didn't like how Kyle ran the clock and burned the time up before the half completely agreed Kyle needs to work on his time management and his game calls I don't I don't like what I saw and then taking the three points when you already had two-score lead what does that buy you nothing you know I would much rather learn about my team on fourth and one than take a meaningless field goal you I'm sure Jake Moody appreciated it but I don't know about anybody else I just don't think that that really served any need of the team completely agree really quickly to go back to those the running Run game and 28 carries for Jordan Mason um obviously I want Mason to continue to get the bulk of the carries I think that he provides a great level of security while Christian mcaffry is recovering I don't think you or the team should be rushing him at all until he's 100% healthy do they have like Matt breida or someone else who who aside from Samu and Isaac Reno do they have that they can start Patrick Taylor Patrick Taylor okay and he was active so they could have gone with him but didn't but then we also remember that and Taylor was a late edition and that Kyle only wants to play guys that truly know the offense yeah and that's part of why he was hesitant to go forward with Jordan Mason because he would still struggle to know all the plays he would still struggling pass Pro and they wanted to make sure that Mason had all all the eyes dotted te's crossed now he has he proved that in Camp and so now he's getting the opportunity he's making the most of it so as Invader said you you need the strong coaching the tough love to get Mason to that point where he's a more complete player that Kyle can trust F now he can and that's a great thing for the team going forward um trusting Debo over gendo you know in years past yeah but now that Debo has lost the weight I think that it puts Debo at greater injury risk to run him especially when they're not going wide all the time with them and just having them run inside sometimes I think that that's not necessary I would rather see them go elsewhere and I also want to see Deo saved for being a receiver as opposed to a runner especially while uh Brandon auk is getting back up to speed he didn't have a great game for being the $3 million man which I know some people were saying like um oh typical 49ers fan base to point that out and stuff but I think that that's a fair critique it's not the first time that Brandon iuk hasn't caught a perfect ball from back party in the corner of the end zone um and I believe that he'll get up to speed and hopefully it won't be like that the whole time and I'm not even saying it's all his fault I think we said when we were talking about the front office and Kyle shin and like when you don't get stuff done right away these players tend to struggle week one it took Nick Bosa till the middle of the season to get back up to speed took I mean Debo an entire year so so I wouldn't expect any instant impact from auk my hope is that he will still be a willing and capable blocker but as a receiver that he's not necessarily going to be as reliable as you would like and yeah he did drop that and hit him in the hands it was still a tough catch though is that you're Airborne you don't have your full body control and you're trying to bring it in from the wrist to your your hands it's hard catch to make but yeah you're getting paid the big bucks to make that catch but it's also unrealistic to expect him to make it after not having played in Camp he just doesn't have the Reps now really quickly I don't I don't know if you saw it but Jordan Mason um after the game obviously should be a night that he was celebrating he's been working so hard for this opportunity his family was there to watch him there was a very nice video of his mom and his fiance I think it is and his son they're pregame after the game he's very excited a sideline reporter comes up and asks him a question that is very common that any PR staff should be prepping him for this is not his fault but the you know woman is saying what a great job he did C you know celebrating with him Debo Samuel comes up and puts a chain on him uh KD lifts him up and congratulates him and the lady asked you know this is awesome for you for your family great opportunity when did you know that you were starting and he says uh Friday sometime Friday night now kle shanan came out on Saturday and said that Chris mcaffrey was questionable and I understand that some people are spinning it that like well you know they could have told Jordan Mason he was going to start but Christian mcaffrey wasn't necessarily going to be out for he just maybe wasn't going to get start and all that's fine but the 49ers are subject and maybe they've avoided it but it did sound like uh oh the team potentially lied and because we got caught in the lie and here's poor Jordan Mason telling the truth through a reporter and now he's gonna be the bad guy he's gonna be the Fall Guy no yep but my hope is that the team blows it off because you know what do you expect Jordan hasn't faced very many questions to begin with yeah he doesn't he don't he doesn't know to protect the team and lie and and so it's just one of those unfortunate situations but it hurt to see that he was just so D down in his press conf you played the game of your life and you're you're nearly in tears at the podium that was hard I know like what should be a celebratory moment for him and that press conference should be so exciting it looked as if either a he was just chewed out by the 49ers or B he was just so fearful that maybe he made Kyle angry or made you know made some sort of mistake I think it's more the latter I I doubt that the ners would have gone after him after the game he just played and said you really screwed us by saying Friday I I doubt it I I think that he more it might have been somebody saying you know the team said that we didn't know anything until right before the game on mcaffrey yeah he realized like oh and then he realizes his mistake and he takes it really hard I think that's what happened is that's more what you would expect from a young guy that hasn't played is it would be something like that but you know whatever happens does but the important thing is do the ners believe fully in Jordan Mason will he get every opportunity yes and and that's all that truly matters and hopefully Jordan will have that conversation with Bobby Turner with Kyle where he'll understand what's going on what happened and he'll be ready to go against Minnesota and they're gonna need him I think what was so what's so great for Jordan Mason for people who want him to continue to get his opportunities is my initial concern was like oh could they you know and and maybe this is mean of me to think that the that the 49ers would be this and vindictive but like could they punish him and then therefore not want him to get as many carries you know take away some opportunties crazy dumb he played so well that there's no way they can't that's the other thing is he play literally into a position they cannot take away I don't see any any vindictiveness there I don't think they're going to pull that they know they need Mason and they want him confident and happy and ready and so the way you do that is say Jordan don't worry about man we're good we'll go forward we're okay that that's the smart play and I think that's what they'll do just move on just move on I agree um Mitchell says hope Mason starts next week how long do you guys think Chris mcaffrey will be out we did touch on this with the injury report it's obviously that you know Kyle said it's a possibility that Chris mcaffry still plays apparently if it was a playoff game last game he would have played um I am of the Assumption since they've confirmed that it's an achill Achilles tendonitis um that he's been struggling with for since last year I don't think they're playing him next week it's a short week with travel um I also am still still kind of thinking that maybe they won't want to play him against the Rams because of the turf but I thought Tom made a good point of if you are really hunting for that number one seed that potentially he tries to go against the Rams in week three since that's an inivision game that's going to matter a lot more so I'm thinking he sits out at least another week maybe two I think Tom is thinking next week he probably won't I I don't think either of us think he's gonna start against the Vikings no I I think that he'll sit out the Minnesota game but I think that Christian himself will want to play against the Rams because arguably that's the most important regular season game of the year the Rams in La if they are going to get at least the three seed if not higher one of the absolutely critical elements of that is making sure that they win the tiebreaker against the Rams so that means either you you beat them head-to-head in both games or that means you're better in the division record that's how you get the it's how you win the tiebreaker so for the ners you that's an extremely important game I think that Christian saying that I could play if it's a playoff game in Christian's mind that game against the Rams in week three is the equivalent playoff game I see what you're saying um I might want to move on past Jordan Mason like I said number one game ball for him what a Just Master Class for him I feel like everyone who's been hoping that he gets his opportunity is just you know feels so gratified and Justified for all the support we've had for him yeah um I hope Kyle feels a little bit silly for not giving that opportunity to him sooner maybe then and and you know I'm not gonna put this on Kyle but maybe chrisan mcaffrey wouldn't be injured if you would have split up those carries maybe the 49ers would have won the Super Bowl and and maybe they wouldn't maybe but I look at it as Kyle was responding to what Christian wanted what Christian wanted was as many carries as possible biggest stats as possible because he wanted that extension he was after the bag and I don't think that Christian was willing to let Jordan Mason be a a second back in tandem where it was more balanced between the two Christian was going all out last year and he had a very impressive year but this this is where you also have to look at Kyle and go you're you're the coach do you know is it smart to be running this guy into the ground like this now what people have to remember is there was a touchdown record they were trying to break and they had other things in order Mr Corey says hello I want to give Mr Corey his praise I talked about you Corey in the beginning of the stream about 45 minutes ago and said that you did call that the 49ers would have such a dominant performance against the Jets b Tom and I didn't have didn't have this much confidence in them I think we both thought they'd win but not like that so conrat so Props to you Cory you saw you saw the truth in advance so good for you good ey well done I I agree Invader saying no other head coach I'd rather have than Kyle I'm I'm not sure about that no no other offensive coordinator I'd rather have than Kyle Andy Reed exists so head coach I would rather have Reed but Kyle is top three in the league my issue and it's I've always said this with you Ashley Kyle the GM is the reason they don't have ring that's what has to change he like Kyle the head coach kle the offensive coordinator he's very good Kyle the GM has caused problems um I agree I think that um Kyle is very good but I don't I don't know if I would go as far as to put him as as number one um and I liked your point like he has and this this was the same problem his dad had right like he has more power than even his title sest yes like he controls not just offense not just the you know or the overseeing of the team as a whole by the way in in the um call that he had earlier today someone finally asked why um or he finally gave a reason as to why he let uh crer or kubak sorry um the defensive line coach uh why he let him call offensive plays and it was not cuz he was trying to be laxed and nice um it was because he wanted to listen into Nick Sorenson and make sure he was calling the defense correctly which he didn't did and I thought I thought the defense looked very good um he's another one that deserves a game ball as Nick senson did a great job completely agree but that was just a really quick going back to like Kyle is by title offensive coordinator and head coach but actually he's the defensive coordinator the offensive coordinator head coach and then also control John Lynch and um I think a he he could benefit from um looking after the other top coaches in the league and how they divvy up power and how they hire guys in to give their opinions to make corrections to oversee them because one guy doesn't can't do everything and you can't think of everything on your own um but I do think Kyle's very good I don't mean that as oh sure he is sure he is yeah offensive coordinator I don't think you can make any argument he is the best offensive coordinator in the league then Ben Johnson in Detroit head coach I would take Andy Reid and the proof is in the pudding in terms of what he's done in Kansas City now you can say that a lot of that is Mahomes and it is a lot of that is Chris Jones too A lot of that is [ __ ] but he's still running the organization running the team and winning and so I I put that above what Kyle has done um I don't think Kyle is trying to delegate more I thought maybe that was potentially possible when he gave up play calling in the preseason but then he came out today and said that that was not because he was trying to help anyone else or looking for any offensive suggestions like he took nothing away from that except for the fact that he got to oversee what was happening on defense he wasn't trying to learn he wasn't trying to incorporate whatever was happening you know he just wanted to check in on senson new ideas yeah no K was not gonna give up control loves control but I thought Corey asked asked a a good question does diva look like he's declining at all to you I would want to see more it's just there are some people in the chat that said that Debo losing weight is a myth well that may be so but if if that's true then I would say that his body fat percentage is lower he looks thinner to me leaned out yeah he's at least leaned out maybe he might be he might be um is more efficient but still the same weight that could be um but I think that the Debo of a couple years ago of the all World Debo in the wide back year is is not with us any longer that that player is gone yeah and I think that the wide back year took a lot out of them because the ners leaned extremely hard on them and he carried them as far as he could um then almost got them to a Super Bowl so I don't blame any of that on Debo but yeah is he declining we'll see I I want to see more games and I want to see with auk steps up that then Debo can settle into his role and that once Christian comes back then Debo can focus on just being a receiver and I think he'll be better for that I also think the team will be better off by trying to balance everything out that right now this game for a number of reasons Deo got too many carries too many touches and part of that was greno not being fully healthy that was maaf hitting so late Kyle yeah Kyle defaulted doing a lot of Debo hopefully he could get away from that in the weeks to follow and the team could be more balanced we've seen what Jordan Mason could do now I want to find out what coing can do I yeah exactly exactly um I would love to see hopefully we see some cow against the Vikings um this question is hard because like I don't think he's declined compared to last year but I do think like said the the star 2021 DEA that we've seen we haven't seen since that year which is sad because that's my favorite player yeah he shows flashes I mean think of the Eagles game last year like he has play great kind of like this too like they have an ability to take over like one game like a sole game can just be a Deo game um but yeah he doesn't seem to break his tackles as easily he doesn't seem to run as fast he doesn't seem to find the open holes as fast and how much of that is the loss of Mike McDaniel who used Evo very creatively how much of that is wear and tear on deo's body um all of that I'm I'm very interested in hopefully we'll see more hopefully we'll see see more this season and um because he is in better shape maybe he'll sure actually uh thrive in whatever new role he has but I don't think he's worse than last year but I think if you're comparing I think most people the image of Debo they have is the 2021 Debo so if you're comparing any version of him now to that it looks not as he's declined from 21 there there's no argument for that yeah clearly he has but that was practically inevitable given the workload that he was given and also that age that age catches up at some point and I will say even in 2021 just for Mr Corey who talked about even aloof UK was creating separation uh Deo samuo never was great at Route running creating separation even when he was his best version of himself um a lot of that was getting schemed open and then his you know where he stands out is with the ball in his hands after the catch and once again a lot of that was not only Debo being a superstar but also that being prep being paired with an excellent scheme and also kind of taking the league by storm like doing something that was unexpected with him Mike Mino extremely yeah teams weren't prepared for it now they are um but in terms of game one I think the Debo's workload was too big for us to really judge that and make a definitive conclusion on Debo is slower Debo is worse but let's see what Debo can do when he gets to just focus on playing wide receiver where auk is contributing where mcaffrey is back and now let's see where Debo fits in that that scenario I think that in that scenario Debo can still be the Deo we remember as an explosive guy let's continue in this scenario in this game he was overused let's continue to split up those um touches too I I want to see KD even a little bit more involved I'd love to see now that we you know Kyle actually gave Mason a chance I'd love to see Cen get some even if it's just three or four uh opportunities to catch some passes I think that could take you know it's just going to be a guy that maybe people aren't as honed in on Jaan Jennings had a great game and part of that is because Jennings is really good but part of that is just because Defenders aren't really looking at Jennings and so I think maybe they could utilize coing in a similar way where because he's just less of a star than the Stars they have maybe you know you catch some Defenders lacking on him and putting their energy but if a defensive coordinator is worth his salt he's going to tell his team watch out for this kid coing he's really fast true it's not like he can sneak him under the radar and they're not going to know oh gee this kid runs the fastest Ted Indie it it's they have to know that they have to scout that absolutely um what's up brick I wanted to say hi to him in our chat as always um we talked a lot about the offense do you have a and I know you do but I'm going to ask you uh for a defensive game ball Fred Fred played a great game and you know that green law is not there so Fred knew he had to step up and he was all over the field he flew all over the field he led the team in tackles he just keeps making smart plays smart reads being around the ball I like what we saw from Fred and he had to deliver that and I also give him credit that he's a great Prime Time player that when you have an elite matchup Under The Lights Fred usually plays is really well he did last night someone was saying that it feels like there the Nick senson called the game much more similarly to how Sol and Deo did and it allowed Fred to kind of thrive in his role did you see that and can you maybe explain what that means to the audience who doesn't me necessar yeah well so last year I I would argue that they tried to almost go from a legion of perspective of back to front in in the emphasis of the defensive coordinator with wils but also in just in their schemes that there was a lot of emphasis on what happens in the back end of the front this time they went back to what they normally do which is stuff the run on the in the front line and then allow the defense to come in and converge and so Fred can read where the runner is going to go and stuff him and that was Deo that was Salah wils had that but they didn't necessarily execute that the same way so going back to what they did I think is a better thing for them and I also like what we saw from Malik Collins I thought he played a good game too impressive well Leonard Floyd did well but yeah I like what I saw from Lee Collins that I was worried that missing Armstead what are we gonna get from our from Lee Collins what can he really do and we saw he made a nice play going uh going sideline to to make a stop and and get a no gain run with uh with Hall where he just he made the smart read and moved and got there and made the tackle played well I was also very I I like that you highlighted Fred Warner I want to give my game ball I'm trying to decide between Warner or between Ward and Lenor because Lenor had an excellent game but and and Ward is going to go under appreciated but Aaron Rogers was scared to throw to his side of the field exactly throw it all game he actually like uh they they put out Aaron Rogers passing chart and he just wouldn't throw to that side of the field which I felt like was a huge compliment to uh Ward but I I think I'm gonna choose Lor just because he was attacked and he made Aaron Rogers regret it and he was also responsible for the interception that was like the the yeah it's a real nice play to get in and get his handed he was the one that knocked it out right right right yeah but I think part of that also in terms of Rogers looking too much to a certain field is also a certain player that Rogers did this at Green Bay and he's doing it now with the Jets he focuses too much on one guy he was looking way too much at Wilson he was looking way too much at Lazard when he had Lazard as as the primary guy you know where were where were all the throws to Bree Hall where were the throws of the tight end why didn't this team use Malachi Cory at all all of those are questions but that's a deep flaw of Rogers now that he's 40 is he locks into his top guys and that's part of why he didn't throw at Ward because Wilson was playing on L North Side he had that same problem with with Devonte Adams right and then he just dejected towards the end of the game like when he's not winning or when that strategy isn't working out and it's like you've targeted one guy that everyone is queued in on that you're obviously going to Target and now you're looking at the sideline like and it's like and and not only that the Niners would specifically game plan for it and say we're gonna take away the guy that Rogers wants to throw to and then just watch him get frustrated and upset and that's what would happen in Green Bay it's part of why they lost the playoff games is that Rogers was saying I Gotta Throw to Devonte Niners would shut him down and say okay go someplace else with the ball and he couldn't and he wouldn't he would like try to force it right right yeah yeah what did you think of really quickly of Rogers in general I felt like he he looks old and not well I thought his arm looked good there were a couple of throws where it was really accurate somewhere he wasn't early but you look at it and say where was his his success it was when the Niners were in soft Zone coverage and Rogers could throw underneath to Garrett Wilson because he was open what did wall what did Rogers really do and succeed in other than the free play when Floyd jumped offside and he hit Lazard and when the ners were playing soft Zone on Wilson that was the majority of his success so I think that Rogers has a lot to prove but I do like what I saw from him in terms of his mechanics how the ball moved um his velocity and his accuracy I think that Rogers will be fine but he's going to need to do some more work and he has to move off of locking in it's just you can't just say where's Garrett Wilson and and make that your only read he's he's got to distribute the ball do you think that when we're reflecting on week one this says more about how good the 49ers defense and offense is or more about the Jets being playing poor both um the Jets the Jets were hurt and Kyle is the master of pre-nap motion and so he would get the Jets to move with that and he would make the Jets defense more pliable and he would go after it and so he' basically pull them until they break put them out of position and then kill them and that's what the niners did all day and and that's a function of Shanahan being great in pre- snap motion and drawing up plays but also the Jets being too vulnerable to that that they didn't have the the discipline they need and part of that is it's week one it when you're somebody like a Shanahan like a Ben Johnson you're GNA have an advantage early in the season because defenses just aren't ready for you yet later in the year they will be right now the Jets clearly were not they got moved around like putty and and the Niners took full advantage I definitely think they did do you have any other game balls to give out we talked about our highlights on offense and defense but I know your article but any that you want to highlight on um I like jwan I thought jwan played well I thought you Jake Moody give him credit six for six even though he did have the bank shot um Leonard Floyd I thought the issue is with Jake Moody is it feels like a a pressure thing more so with him yeah that's we're g yeah I want to see Moody go six for six in a game where every every one of those is lead in the game tied up play to to get it back I agree something something really big um Mr Cy says py gets a game ball yeah I have a a game ball for Chris Forester and the offensive line I was predicting that Aaron Banks was going to get worked by Quinn and Williams Quinn and Williams disappeared and I give the ners full credit for and basically working around Williams he did nothing and and puny looked great and was their best run blocker 82.1 by PFF and Trent I'll give him credit too that you know 33 dropback snaps no pressures and so you know Trent didn't have camp but he was still ready to play so give him credit he got himself ready to go for the season played well um the other one is is Sorenson I thought that senson called a good game you had the problem of the soft Zone and on where the Jets drove the ball all those third down conversions after that senson adjusted and he went to more where you're mixing up the coverage and so Rogers can't necessarily read what they're going to do I thought they did a better job of masking coverage after that and that they they got away from soft Zone which they have to do you've got guys that can cover you've got two very good Corners in Warden Lenor don't be afraid to use press man and fortunately they went to the skills of the DBS and got away from soft Zone and the Jets didn't do much after that me their scores were a free play touchdown where know Rogers is the master of that and they got a a garbage and they got a garbage time touchdown with with tyro so yeah well okay yeah they just didn't do much two of their touchdowns were weren't that earned uh Rogers is so concerned with his stat padding that I feel like he doesn't like to take opportunities unless he thinks it won't count against him if it messes up and that's why he's so good at those free plays part of it though he worked with Lazard and Green Bay and then they had a lot of of work together of you know because all the receivers know if it's a free play what to do and that Rogers will get them the ball if they're open and so that's that's something that they have the teamwork and the history together to seize on that moment and that's one thing that I think the Niners will need to work on is that one of the weaknesses in this game was that they had a loss of focus sometimes in key moments okay that was one of them where you you had a free play and and you didn't lock in knowing that it was a free play for Rogers you gave score that was an issue and that should be something you're prepped on like you know Rogers is going to take those opportunities if they present yeah you know his history you know that's what he's going to do and you weren't prepared for it um there were also some of the offensive line holding penalties or just the holding calls in general uh the one on Depot with Mason's run some are saying that that was that was a bad call I thought that was a bad play Mason's about to go in the end zone we don't need you to do anything Debo just yeah yeah you're like literally not affecting the play by do do not hold him and and the other one with Mason was with mckivitz holding call where Mason was practically you know was about to go by him I didn't think that mckivitz needed to make that play Mason was in position to go past that Defender so just be more you know situationally aware but it's something that's going to happen in week one anyway it's just something for the coaching staff to point out of we need to improve our Focus so that when we make these plays we take advantage we don't go back um we have some comments really quick I did want to shout out Niner gang he's in our comments but um I got this comment on my reaction yesterday about the safeties uh did you feel like they struggled yesterday I thought Odum did I thought that Jer didn't make as many plays as I would expect okay um but yeah I think that odm struggled there were a lot of times where you saw Odum there and he's making a tackle after a catch after yeah just kind yeah I I didn't like odm's play um but it might be that that hunga comes back against Minnesota you Kyle said he was close so maybe um but I would also even if hunga can't play I would start Mustafa I like what I saw from I thought I thought he played well too uh did you feel like the pass rush pass rush struggled I think the pass rush didn't get what they need you know Leonard Floyd got what four pressures in one sack and Bosa was held a lot as he always is but they've got to do more that you're going up against Minnesota next week you know from firsthand experience playing against that with with Sam darnold what's gonna cause him trouble is a crowded pocket yeah if he doesn't have room to place his feet he's gonna turn the ball over so that's what the ners need to do they need to get a lot of pressure they need to crowd the pocket that's how they're going to turn darnold over to Chris P Chris P makes a good point and Aaron Rogers talked about this on the MC show that he went on today when he was talking about going up against this pass rush that the game strategy going into this week was to get out get the ball out of his hands faster than he typically would well and Aaron is also in self-preservation mode at 40 that he's going to get the ball out rather than even risk a pressure yeah so he's gonna throw even when he shouldn't he'll still throw early to protect himself and so that's part of it but yeah Chris makes a good point that Rogers in particular is gonna get the ball out because he has to yeah got the ball out very fast and and that probably affects that uh Mr poker when addressing the safety comment Aaron Rogers isn't throwing the ball deep that much because he's getting the ball out of his hands so quickly that that's true yes so I think we're talking in safeties it's more of partially it's the soft Zone coverage but partially it's also Rundy is that I thought that Jer played better in run support than odm did last so did I so did I that that doesn't surprise me I don't know I I think of Odum as solely a backup player I don't well he's he's a solid player but he's not starter quality that that's how I feel that's how I feel I'm not I I think maybe that's why I didn't like feel disappointed in his play cuz he performed about how as well as I expected like I don't think of him as a high quality starter and it's not that I but I also like didn't feel down on him I was like yeah he did about what I expected like you don't want him to let some you know Giant plays go but I don't expect him to be the guy that is stopping the play before it happens as much as I would hope um from other and and we'll see but you next week they're GNA have to be concerned with Justin Jefferson so Odum would probably be more in the free safety mode than in helping and run support so it it might be that they say that maybe we play Odum one more week but we'll see what happens with t NOA that Kyle has said that it's close with hunga so is there a game strategy against Minnesota just to scare Sam Donal because we know that he can throw a to Justin Jefferson if given time but if the pass rush actually gets there I think that's when darnold can't handle it and gets flushed yeah and we know from experience in his time in in Santa Clara that he doesn't function well if he's got a crowded pocket no Minnesota has a good offensive line they've got good guards they they're good in the interior and we'll see what they can get done this time but I I think the Niners again need to bring more heat because you know Justin Jefferson cause a lot of damage Niners also have to be concerned with Aon Jones is that he left Green Bay to go to Minnesota he had 94 yards rushing for them I grant it's the New York Giants they're one of the worst teams in the league all that was my take away everyone Aaron Jones is a little too early in my opinion oh yeah yeah it's that you know Sam darnold benefited from who he played against sure but I would still be wary of two people Aaron Jones who had a great year once he was healthy in Green Bay he played really well I think the Packers goofed I think that Aaron Jones is better than Josh J Jacobs but that's me and it also depends on when Jones is healthy Jacobs will stay healthier longer and he's also a guy that you can rely on to give more carries to but I think that just in the abstract of give this guy the ball and let's see what he can do I I like Aaron Jones more but that's my bias showing um but beyond that the other one is Brian Flores the Vikings defensive coordinator he likes to Blitz a lot Vikings had some good defensive success against ners last year you know Florida is one of the better defensive coordinators in the league you need to respect him come up with a game plan of getting the ball out to make sure that you can negate that Blitz and and make sure that uh you don't turn the ball over and just play clean well Tom it was exciting to be able to talk about an actual game with you this was fun this was great Ashley it was it was a phenomenal game it was better than I anticipated a lot of those games I I did think the the Lions uh Rams game was a good game but a lot of those games on Sunday the offenses looked straggly they were not smooth they were not in a rhythm in the 49ers first quarter looked looked like it was going to go that way where I was just like they just don't feel like they really got in the most you know offensive flow which is exciting because you assume that they're only going to get better as the players that missed out on the offseason mesh and everyone gets healthy but turned out to be a really really good game even though sometimes you think those games where the E even as a 49ers fan like when they're winning so much it can get kind of boring because you're like okay they're but for some reason going again maybe it's just Aaron Rogers and once they took him out it was a little different but I was excited throughout the game I was thoroughly yeah me too yeah because I want to see him play well and I wanted to see him get into Rhythm so they can build on that for the season yeah it just we have football back that was the great thing yeah football yay and then beyond that is that the Niners played well and that they did what they had to do in this game to build on this win to go forward and have a lot of confidence on offense that now they're in a flow and they have rhythm and timing they're going to be good to go against Minnesota and that the defense has done a good job in figuring out run support and hopefully they can carry that forward against Aaron Jones I think that's going to be a bigger challenge next week in the Run game is defending Jones versus Bree Hall which surprising because I thought the would have a big game but no uh I think that Minnesota is going to be a good challenge we'll see what Aaron Jones can do but I'm confident in what we saw from the Niners and I think they'll keep going it'll also be interesting to see how the quarterbacks do against Jefferson obviously a phenomenal player and everyone is hyping up um I feel bad saying this name but fatty Momo uh I don't know if you missed it but we did talk about our game balls and Lenor got one also please please be sure to not only like And subscribe to my YouTube channel but to follow Tom it's 49ers cast or it's ners cast on Twitter and he puts out articles on SI before and after the game also about other things but he gave out game balls today so I think you'll find his article post last night very interesting everyone make sure to go read that a lot of our topics were you know semi stolen from from Tom's article but we left out stuff so there's there's more to get there for thanks Ashley I appreciate the plug of course of course of course but um it was so exciting to talk about a game with you Tom we'll be back next week covering the Vikings um it's pretty earlyer on early on to say anything so I'm not asking for a score or anything but you think the 49ers are gonna win yeah yeah I I think they'll turn over darnold at least once probably twice yeah and and that'll be enough I think the will do well too much it's too much it was against it was against the Giants guys everyone need calm down yeah yeah any team that has Daniel Jones at quarterback is not winning yeah yes thank you guys so and I expect pry to have a better game this week Meo very well he I mean he would have had that touchdown if if uh IU caught it was obviously a little bit of a hard catch but 19 of 29 for 231 yards is not a bad statline for game one without Christian mcav I mean I know I've been asking how is how is pretty gonna look without all these stars now he had a bunch of stars on the team still but not everyone had been flowing together and you know it was exciting to see my main takeaway like we've been saying all stream was just how exciting it was for Mason who's worked so hard to get this opportunity to actually ingratiate himself and then have such an amazing performance when he was given that but everyone make sure to like And subscribe to my YouTube channel right here Ashley Ariana and to follow Tom on Twitter and check out his article that he put out it was earlier today and then like I said there'll be another one previewing the game next week thank you guys so much um and have a great week it's gonna be a short one so enjoy it bye guys bye Tom bye asle bye
