Episode 177: Jared Leto Ate My Baby

[Music] hey there it's the Machina nonsense episode 177 and we've got most of the crew here almost everyone here um Tomas was attacked by Jared letto um so rip Tomas but uh we're here we're going to talk some d23 some big announcements Gamescom and uh what we've been up to since the last episode it's been a while since we've recorded so um we've gathered a wonderful panel I'm your host Eric joined as always by Kayla hey hey and uh Tomas is not here but we do have Ryan is back on the pot everyone good day Eric good day hello hello and uh d here uh and and hydrated and uh fresh off his pink era uh his pink Crow era if you will uh Michael Nelson how are you every day is whing Road there good stuff uh Mike Mike went to the Pink concert last night and he's still able to pod uh so that's a message to you Tomas specifically um Mike is flexing all over you uh no uh Mike's Mike's my hero yeah he saw he saw pink at Soldier Field here in Chicago and that sounds awesome that's what was going on okay and Cheryl Crow I did you know she was opening I had found that out like a few weeks prior like I was just kind of look like oh I wonder if there's an oh [ __ ] because I know like Pat benitar was like last year the year before at Wrigley and I thought ah that would have been cool but this was even better I I Cheryl rocked it she did like uh I Want You to Want Me cover that was cool hell yeah um you know did all the hits it was cool I was hoping that uh her and pink would do that kid rock duet together oh man did uh Willow do anything Pink's daughter was she there at all I don't think so okay but pink was there she was there oh pink was there that's good that's good was of DNC she does a ton of cool like wire act stuff like she she flew around that whole place and Soldier Field is gigantic Co she was Peter P She does like uh she does like aerial silks and stuff too right yeah yeah well she does that and it's like oh that's cool but then she does full Peter Pan just literally she's singing and singing yes yeah she was yeah built different incredible flexibil I know Tomas had posted recently about how nonflexible he is these days uh Pink had stole all of that from from this is the official [ __ ] on Tomas pod by the way everything gosh she's in this like cage device that like cylindrical cage thing flipping around in that um she's 44 she's doing all that yeah holy great voice too powerful you couldn't make this pod what what what's what's wrong with you well pink didn't make this pod either in in tomas's defense you know so um yeah that that's awesome I I I envy you greatly I now that you guys keep calling pink like Peter Pan I feel like she could kind of pull it off right like she's got the pan haircut going on right now and stuff I I I feel like she could do like a Stage production of Peter Pan uh she may have already it's possible wouldn't it wouldn't be very surprising [ __ ] I I remember hearing a rumor in like middle school or it might have been high school that she she got her name from Mr Pink from Reservoir Dogs and I I think I've just proven it through research it's it's very hard to find like actually where she got her name from but my head Cannon is that it's it's a it's a reservoir dog's uh like yeah yeah reference I doubt that but I know you know I I bet you pink was big into Reservoir Dogs you know um at least the person who told meig right she's more of a Jackie round uh so we've got a a Big Show by the way uh it's not all about pink today or [ __ ] on Tomas um we got a couple announcements that I'm going to start with and then like I said we're going to talk about uh Gamescom and d23 and then we'll get to what we've been up to because we've all been uh checking out a lot of stuff um and that'll be the episode so announcements uh let's let's talk about him we have made a decision we teased it um but we are going to do our next disc dive into Metal Gear salad Sons of Liberty um that will be our next run of the dis dive series we're going to break it into three parts starting with the tanker section the first part will be our breakdown of the tanker section and our breakdown of um where the game kind of sits in our own gaming Cannon uh what we thought about playing it back when we played it originally Kayla's thoughts on the Metal Gear series uh Kayla um I I would like you for the next five minutes to break down um mgs1 uh for me every moment know you know I I am um more a fan of few words um weird sniper lady hard boss that's pretty much the the yeah yep um tanks tanks yes fewer tanks in uh in the sequel I'll say twins or S sisters or Lings or who knows knows what okay and uh with where do we go to next that's where I'm at now we go some places so I gave you five minutes but you got it in like one so wait way to go yeah that was that was wonderful um so this will be Kayla's first playthrough of uh MGS 2 as mgs1 was her first playthrough as well um thank you Konami for releasing that uh that REM Master package cuz that's how we're we're going to play it um so that will be once again our next disc dive series we're going to start with the tanker area of uh Sons of Liberty and then we'll discuss that um probably on the not the next episode not episode 178 because that'll be our breakdown of everything coming in September but the following episode will be the disc dive so everyone's got plenty of time to uh to get into the tanker Mission then from there there I think our decision is going to be uh we're going to end the second part uh after the fat man boss battle um that seems like a good uh place to to stop there and then um the finale will be the the third episode in the disc dive Series so um be looking for that uh go ahead and play that at home guys uh and play along with us uh yeah let us know uh how your experiences are are going with with that game uh it's it's I think they've heavily discounted it at this point that like remaster package so you can get even cheaper um you know and I bet you the Sons of Liberty is available you know on PC and stuff for by Standalone even cheaper and stuff and you know for those pirates out there I'm sure it's available for even cheaper so dis dive announcement complete um sure everyone's excited about that second announcement um the machine of nonsense is an official patron of uh the midmat ma uh probably a little bit in what we've been up to but got to meet Ben Hansen um the founder and kind of uh podcast Lord I'm in a video that they posted check out the um travel log for the the Chicago Community Meetup I'm I'm in that I had Ben sign a uh a magazine for me the last ever issue of Game Informer he he has signed that for me he's he's in a little picture of it so he felt okay signing it but he he also made a little disclaimer that he has nothing to do with the production of that that issue of um Game Informer uh Ben great guy uh go you guys go out there and Mike's been a supporter of minmax forever Mike brought me day I so I told Ben I'm a day two supporter of minmax because Mike was my my day one he asked me you know how' you find how' you find minmax um and I said my best friend uh he he he told me about it and um it's it's great I've been wanting to to to take the leap so in that we are are an official Patron we are on the wall of Heroes that they do so our logo um our I have the inclusive list of everything that was shown at d23 that doesn't have to do with like the parks or anything else I mean all the like Marvel stuff the Disney Pixar the the stuff we're going to check out probably uh I'm going to list it off and then um I don't know we can go around the room and and you guys can pick you know one or two things that you're excited about uh it's a it's a big it's a big bunch of stuff uh everything on this list is supposed to come out between now and 2026 um everything pretty much had a either now or 2026 release date here all right guys ready three two one uh we're getting Incredibles three we're getting Toy Story 5 Moana 2 Snow White live action Snow White uh Daredevil Born Again Dwayne The Rock Johnson's Monster Jam everyone uh Avatar 3 fire and Ash inside out colon dream Productions this is going to be a show set in the inside out uh Universe win or lose another show set in the Little League Universe um pretty excited about that one uh Elio poppers Frozen 3 zootopia 2 skeleton crew from Star Wars Mandalorian and grou also of Star Wars Fame Captain America New World Order Fantastic Four First Steps Agatha all along Mike's favorite iron har Percy Jackson season 2 Sea of Monsters freakier Friday the sequel to Freaky Friday the gang's all back for that one Lilo Lilo and Stitch not my cat lelu uh Lilo and Stitch live action uh we yeah yeah uh Tron Aries Lion King Mufasa eyes of wuka which will be an animated uh four-part animated series set in the wakanda universe and your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man coming soon actually in 2024 uh so quite the list um Ryan big Disney fan I know over there uh the the they call you d24 I know yeah and yeah on the streets what are you uh what are you excited uh from Disney Pixar and Marvel in the com uh not excited for Toy Story 5 I mean the concepts seems interesting the you know toys vers essentially technology which is kind cute yeah that's fun um Skeleton Crew I'm very interested you know Disney has been very Hit or Miss for me for Star Wars lately um but you know they kind of advertises like a Coming of Age film kind of like The Goonies or ET um I'm D for the judance with that one um Andor of course mandu and grou um really hyped for whatever that's going to be um Dar devil born again I loved the Netflix I think probably one of my favorite most favorite Marvel just anything in the past 10 years is fantastic show um agath all along giv me Wizard of Oz Vibes sure a bit I'm not not really sure where to to put it musical right I don't know gives me CW Vibes yeah there you go there you go fre Friday like I think going for they're reaching for a different audience on that and that's that's all right I feel the same about Iron Heart Like It's they're reaching for like a a young a a teen crowd you know a coming of a trout I think you're right I don't know what to expect with that one but it looks interesting um Snow White and Seven Dwarves I I don't know I think it looks like hot garbage I think it's going to be a train wreck it's going to be weird I feel bad because all the dwes are like CG and it's because Peter Dinklage outlasted Disney exactly you know like just like the great disturbance in the forest seven people were out of a job um all at once um um probably the most anticipated film of all that for me personally probably Lilo and Stitch I I love that that original movie nothing could beat it for me I love Stitch he's such a a great personality so I'm excited to see what they do how they bring him to the big screen because most Disney liveaction films um are not great so in Mufasa why that's all I have to say that's it I think that Lilo the uh the live action little teaser of him looked really good yeah he looks cool he did look good he looked good but I don't know I think I don't know it's like them taking away the Disney Vault with the app with Disney plus they have to just keep how do we get oh we'll just remake remakes remakes remakes and uh it works for them I mean they're very successful all of them yeah they'll be CL even the first Lion King which I didn't get there's a huge backlash because like you know the one of the 10 highest roasting movies of all time it's crazy but like you know the kids apparently didn't love it because it wasn't as motive as like obviously the cartoon so you could see that in the Mufasa trailer how their mouth a little more animated this time around you know what I mean have a more cartoonish feel to them and learning you know yeah yeah and lastly zootopia too um I love zootopia one it was amazing animated film I'm hoping yeah so big expectations for those films the ones I liked at least lot of stuff yeah a lot a lot of stuff I think you know even if half like hit it it's like all right I I I like your your Disney Vault thing Mike I feel like Disney is taking a uh kind of a cue from from Nintendo in a sense like with with oh let's put it on a new uh you know a new console or or whatever else let's let's re re-release it in a sense um at least they're you know I guess putting in the work to to make it you know uh live action or whatever but do we need them who knows I I actually liked I liked like The Jungle Book I remember and I think I like The Lion King live action more or less um I don't I don't have as much like preciousness myself for like the The Originals or anything so it's more like oh okay here's how's the CG in this how's how's the story does it tell like a decent heartwarming story and you know sure yeah they do uh but uh uh you know d23 um we we've got literally a guy named D on this L what are you most excited about um honestly I got jait so kind of salty the whole time I like I like Lilo and Stitch I think that's the one I kind of walked away I was like okay I'll take this but I don't watch d23 for the movie announcements I feel you yeah uh Stitch look good I've never seen the original so I think I'm gonna have to like watch the original and then see how I guess faithful or whatever it is but yeah Stitch looked great I thought that that uh that's all we saw it was like just him doing his his thing so we'll see what the the rest look like um integrated with humans is going to be interesting that I think is g to be like now that I think about it yeah it was just him up there look looked good but him interacting with the two main women girl well might be might be a challenge will be sure yeah he's a he's a speedy little guy so it shouldn't be too hard it's not like he has a lot of he's either being soft and cuddly or an absolute Menace in that movie so that's easy CGI because you just have people reacting to that it's not like he has to he doesn't have to have these big like uh long interacting type things so but there's like the big shark man and the other twoing alens that's what I was gonna bring up yeah those go king shark yeah he kind of looks like pretty much king shark you're right King shark's in leelu and Stitch yeah he's he's back baby coming back okay now now you got me one Expendable at a time man oh that's awesome um Kayla did you did you have a standout in the d23 performance Expo whatever Daredevil with John Bern thought in it kind of was like oh look at that excited about that that original show was awesome I'll take that yeah Daredevil yeah definitely yeah um yeah I guess they I I even yeah I liked the Netflix Daredevil too but there was a shift with Daredevil when he showed up in She-Hulk just of his like whole kind of persona which which I liked so I want I want to see where that goes yeah little little figy little yeah yeah little sprinkle dust yeah oh uh oh we might have lost M I'm sure whatever said Mike was was hilarious it it wasn't I'll be honest that's okay it it it is interesting to think like what that is going to be like now that we have Deadpool and Wolverine and you know a hard R in the MCU and everything else or at least like a soft are grated like film I would say they they had some FY dust as well uh in that one I would say but um yeah where does d Daredevil like lean towards those two um that spectrum is it Netflix is it um aath all along or is it like somewhere in between I don't know yeah it'll be in between but it's a very famous run of the comic from what I I've heard and I'm sure it's just as brutal kind of you know fight scene wise and [ __ ] as as what any other stuff be so I think it'll lean that way more more than the Agatha stuff I think it'll be leaning towards the Netflix side but not full fully over there anything from the uh Expo work for you Mike uh The Incredibles 3 could be cool um I like that second one quite a bit I know a lot of people were like man this is like 15 years too late disagree yeah I I don't know that's just a fun thing to do like they just kind of nailed their X-Men or Justice League or whatever you want to call them you know right away and uh Toy Story five I don't need that I never even saw four three was kind of the perfect send off for me so I'm fine with just leaving it there um I don't know if they really had news about Fantastic 4 but I'm I'm just kind of really eager to to get a trailer for that or and just to I don't know the Ralph andison casting was what really sold it for me I as galac I love him and uh that I think that Spider-Man show NE friendly neighborhood Spider-Man right I think that art pretty cool I'm excited to see you know I've always since that '90s Fox kids show I've always wanted just a really good animated Spider-Man and they've had a ton ton of runs at it there was like an MTV show in the early ODS at one point that was okay and uh maybe this can be that you know really really good needs a great theme song hopefully we'll see you know what's Wild is that so Coleman Domingo is going to play Norman Osborne in that series really I love wow and the wildest thing is I I've seen several Coleman demingo like movies and stuff and I've never put two and two together but he he went on stage and he did a little spiel about like what um what's important about Norman Osborne and everything else and as he's speaking he mentioned William defo he said like oh man you know I've got big shoes to kind of fill and everything else and like his voice and his Cadence is way closer to Willam defo than I've ever really like realized I don't know if he if he's going to like do a voice or do you know something more animated for the the show but his regular just like hey I'm talking to you voice is like it's kind of sounds like William defo so it's interesting like the casting in that sense uh I I think it's going to be that that's a really cool casting for for Osborne but that's coming soon that's in in like December I think um this year yeah so that's that's soon um yeah you you mentioned Fantastic 4 that was going to be my pick for kind of uh the interesting thing all they showed was um the the cast on set because they were I guess filming but they did show um the background looked cool it's this retr futuristic 60s thing and um I I thought the costume so um Joseph Quinn was in costume uh in in the footage and um so he's G to play in uniform right um he's gonna play Johnny Storm and um I thought it looked cool like it looked like something out of like early Star Wars concept art or something so it definitely captures that like um what yeah what they thought maybe it would look for look like in the future so um yeah I thought it it looked cool I I don't have a relationship with Fantastic 4 never read any of the comics never I've never seen any of the previous attempts at a Fantastic 4 movie um but great cast I I dig the casting now and I I like that they're going to the past and everything else and people seem to think it's going to be important as well so that that's cool flame on that's all I got to say about that Justice for Michael chickas geez no love for the original never seen never seen chickas I know I I I should have all right uh so that's d23 um lot of stuff uh and some of it might be before we move on I think I know why D's so salty about d23 okay is it because you didn't get your live action Kingdom Hearts is that it's because I it's because I got zero Kingdom Hearts news oh got nothing I will say uh for the Kingdom Hearts fans Kayla and I watched a really good um cosplay kind of music video of d23 and there was a really good Sora so if you could find that on YouTube uh d uh there's a there's a single Sora in the uh so search like d23 music video or something cosplay music video and there's there's a good Sora so there's that you know they they your people were represented is what I'm saying stifled sent to the back even though we're making them all this dumb money you still got like seven years till four is done man I know we're you know we're we're past the decade Mark got like seven eight years yeah it's good I only be 50 it's not a big deal yeah they're gonna put like a couple out on an end gaug or something first and then a couple sideo here here's what I'm really salty about there's a mobile game that's like past Beta And there's just no news about when it's releasing at all damn should have been their AG well they're gonna add some extra like uh subtitles to it you know yeah there's probably like two or three subtitles they new words once the words are invented they'll uh they'll get right on that oh oh good stuff so that's the uh Kingdom Hearts mobile game and all of our coverage surrounding it um we'll be doing a a disc dive one day into that I'm sure Gamescom let's talk a little bit of Gamescom the uh world's largest gaming uh convention um I don't I don't know why it game's Comm and I it's German you know it's in Cologne who knows you know it's those Europeans those crazy Europeans they're expanding that was one of the big announcements at Gamescom was actually this year they expanded into into Latin America they had Gamescom latam I believe it was called and then um next year they're going to do that again plus the one in Germany plus one in Asia I I don't remember if it was Japan exactly but they're going to have an Asian one a Latin American one and a a German one next year so ke coming for TGs gonna just devour that that show next he's going worldwide yeah yeah our boy key did The Opening Night Live uh showcase Mike you you said you were kind of impressed with his uh his showcase this year yeah this the first time I've watched an opening Night Live and I walked away from it like oh that was like a one of the bad uh game awards shows it was like on that level you know so not not too bad my expectations were set really low and he surpassed him so good good for key know he's just up there spreading the good word yeah I thought he had a great co-host this year I forget her name um Sparks was that her her name you're right yeah yeah but it was spelled very German it was yeah she had the most unique accent I think I've ever heard because it was like the most slight accent she spoke just like perfect English but you're like just a a little bit and it was it was I thought it was really endearing uh she's a great host Co now like British English or like it sounded like like if you had to like every fifth word you were like oh yeah she sounds like maybe she's German or or something but it was like just really like but she could also be from you know Texas or something yeah Ohio right yeah Middle America whatever it was I I thought she was cool and then uh show in a lot of uh the main the main show I thought Kyle Bossman did a great job I thought it was pretty funny um hard thing to do to just kind of make these things like just kind of roll and be good and funny and stuff and he he pulled it off pretty well um it's long long show very long definitely towards the end of it like all right what's is this going to be worth it is there going to be something you know one last thing at the end um I thought he had some you know some de like okay I didn't see that coming with the uh the mafia uh announcement at the end but uh yeah pretty good new looks at a lot of lot of great stuff um what everybody else think I I think you're right about it it being a little little long um but it enjoy it went it went by fast enough I've definitely had like game awards or uh summer game Fest where where they they're long and they also drag and I felt like this one was maybe fewer ads fewer things that you're not sure are are ads versus trailers that that kind of thing um it was like back to back to back fewer like I don't think there were any celebrity on stage kind of things like I feel like that that German crowd like they were like no don't don't mess with us man do that give us the meat yeah like when you're potatoes people here yeah when you're in California you can act Hollywood but hey Jeff stick to the the program here in Cologne no no no dael h David Hasselhoff or like that know there was that great Hasselhoff would have been good there was that um what was that weird I think it's going to be a mobile game or something it had that weird like key was in the trailer a a digital like an animated key but someone else was doing his voice but that was so weird there was of ham something something about what was some sort of ham Monster Ham that wasn't it but I feel like it was like the ham Monster Ham monster mobile I'm probably don't think you're close Ryan could you search ham monster mobile please I know you're the fastest typer amongst us uh monster mobile got you uh anything come up with Jeff Key Monster Jam Monster subj Jam well I guess samam monster puppet show I oh I guess that wasn't it um that was that was both um I would say the the weirdest thing the weirdest thing and also one of like I was like oh this is cute because there were all kinds of references to like um the weird polygonal faces of like golden eye characters and I feel like there there were like Resident Evil references and stuff there were really fun gaming references in that little little commercial for whatever ham monster mobile game you guys are all searching for right and you can't find it maybe it just doesn't even exist no clue what the [ __ ] you're talking about I can't find it Mike knows what I'm talking about remember what you're talking about but I have no idea what it was for right yeah so that's effective marketing is what I'm saying right just trying to key in on The Voice cuz it was so distracting cuz it was so obviously not him and was watching the minmax reaction stream and it took them longer to F they were like shout out to Ben and them we love them but they're like man Ben's gotten really or Jeff's been uh he's gotten really better at his acting shout out to him I bet I would love for them to put like a someone to put a clip together of all of you know ke's attempts at acting and these things and improv and stuff and uh then I think it was uh Jacob Geller I think was like that's not him is it that's not very funny uh funny moment oh that was but uh that was something um something I really liked from the thing it was a trailer for a game that I have no interest in but it was such a great trailer it was the uh uh Goat Simulator remaster trailer oh my God yes thato the show it was so good which wound up for something I don't care about but it was still really great just the the warcraft jokes the Grand Theft Auto remaster all the the rain just B like not being able to see anything through the rain uh that was very good so hats off just for trailer of the show for for them for me and that's back to back for them because they did the parody of Dead Island 2 trailer right and that's right like goat goat simulators on it man once like same same here no interest never played the any of the this is what the third one uh that they're advertising now or I I don't know they did the cute thing where they just went from one to three I don't think two and now they're just doing remaster one I believe so goon too uh deep cut um yeah uh goat goat simulator go out and play it so we don't have to folks uh Ryan that seems like maybe something you've dabbled in you ever dabbled in Goat simul later no no I haven't I can't I can't say I have it looks I mean the trailer was just chef's kiss like it was it was it was so good so quirky and so fun um something that stood out not my kind of game is uh infinity Nikki I mean it looks wild whatever the hell it is they're like advertising like this dress up like open adventure thing but like it looks hella cute for whatever demographic they're aiming for uh so hats off to that team but then there's also these like weird monsters like references and stuff it seems like it's also going to be maybe like a dark souls inspired thing as well I don't know be wild yeah that game is interesting very interesting I don't know what how to even describe that that weird one yeah what was your thoughts on Lost record guys you you guys remember that from the show it was like this mystery 1990s I kind of Know What You Did Last Summer video game adaption type of vibe to it really kind of like strange one with all the music Same Studio what did you guys feel on that I felt I felt I'm excited for that interested yeah the uh band name uh like was like Bloom and Shadow or something that was like the stupidest thing um I I didn't like that but uh but no it the the trailer was cool I I haven't played I played like a little bit of the first one of the life is strange series and I don't know why I fell off cuz I was enjoying my time with it I think just other games came up or whatever else but uh I like the in that one you had like the time uh mechanic rewind kind of thing and um I liked it and I as I've seen like subsequent um episodes in the life is strange series um they've always looked cool and interesting and and like have like takes on um move they feel very like like they're they're going for you said like um what' you say like I Know What You Did Last Summer or whatever like all of them seem like they're aping movies and stuff and I I I I like that and this one's music themed on top of that so um yeah it's one of those like maybe I won't ever play it but I'm still really interested in in what other people think of it kind of thing that's interesting because that first one is very like butterfly effect to me yeah yeah and I like that movie like you know I I don't know why I fell off that game but I did I don't know um yeah that one looks cool um loved seeing that that uh monster hunter Wilds yeah right is that what the subtitle for that one that spider ene the spider creature that they fighting in that so excited for that game that looks just really good from what I've heard it's like the like an actual PS5 game like a nextg kind of thing five yeah looks really good I think it's in real Eng of 5 is it multi conso guys do do we know crossplay for like the first time that's huge even bigger relas yeah yeah very exciting that's going to be the one that's going to be the one no we have the other one that you got us Mike we're going to play it we're going to play it on our our train trip later this month or next month we're going to do it Mike train trip that game's fun train trip yeah can't wait train trip we're taking a train trip taking a train trip uh Bloom and rage is the uh title the subtitle of lost records is Bloom and rage and that's also the name of the band in the uh game so Bloom and rage uh he has a real issue right now with things named Lily Bloom I do or whatever I do okay so um 30 seconds here the biggest movie in America is um what what's the movie called it ends with us it ends with us cynia Hoover yeah Cynthia Hoover Blake Lively yes it's huge making a ton of money everyone loves it it's book adaptation um the main character's name is lily bloom Blossom it's all you need to know and uh Pokemon evolution there like BL do you guys want to know what she does for a living uh anyone she's a Botanical scientist uh no uh that would be just as bad but no she owns a flower shop that's good that's all we need to talk about uh that's good uh so lost records Bloom and rage uh sometimes you need to hit the nail on the head man you just need to to do it MH um so we've already given too much time to to that movie yeah that's like 40 seconds at least yeah um yeah Monster Hunter looks amazing I am excited to to jump into that and I think it it's going to be nice with Kayla and I playing our first one soon in about a month to get the feel for what those games are and and everything and then be able to jump in with all y'all uh that's exciting yeah I thought rean animal looked really really cool is that the same studio is like like the little Horrors or whatever games so it's so weird yes um so the first two little nightmares um yes that's it's the studio behind the first two now super massive is making the third one which was also shown at the at the show and they're it's real weird because reanal looked really really cool but it looked like little nightmares like it like that's why I thought it was at first it's the studio that made the first two they like spun off I guess from I think the publisher or what have you um and damco I believe right right so it's it's a weird it's a weird W Twisted kind of web of of games and they're going to like come out together it feels a lot like when Crafton made um what's the Dead Space inspired game that came out when dead space re remaster came out um we just played that one k Kalisto protocol Kalisto protocol yeah it feels a lot like that's going on here where it's like I don't think that's a dead space game but whatever interesting you know it's like much as he does no no it's yeah yeah but anyway um re animal looked awesome uh to to very good trailer very creepy and then the this was like our second or third look at little nightmares they kind of had more of a gameplay focused uh look and I I don't think it really held up against the rean animal trailer I don't know it was slower it was a little longer I felt but I showed Greg go ahead Eric S I was gonna ask which one of them had the the bow shooter because I could I got them confused with each other three did it looks like three is kind of introducing like some Trine aspects like have because it's going to be the first one that's Co-op and you're going to have like a character that has more to do than just you know pull levers and things you actually like have like a bow and arrow ability and stuff and that stuff looked neat great that's Greg's like number one g game he's looking forward to oh yeah I had to break the news to him that it was delayed because he thought it was coming out this year when I and uh told grego like that it wasn't coming out showed him the trailer for re animal and he was not into it he this is not little nightmares like what is this he's a I think once he like sees it but you know like an actual kind of gameplay of it he'll he'll be into it but uh he thought it wasn't distopian enough I guess he he wanted it to be more like post-apocalyptic looking okay okay Greg Greg's a metal kid he's he's and uh yeah that was I thought re animal was maybe game of the show for me probably as far as new stuff oh yeah baby that was high on my list um I also high on my list I had um uh dark pictures Anthology directive 8020 um love those dark pictures games and this one they're taking like it looks like it's going to be more action focused the the other ones are are very much like um Telltale type inspired um you not not exactly pointand click but but very like limited action more uh QuickTime event you know type stuff um looks like they're they're going to blend that with with a little more action and in like a um futuristic setting whereas the other ones have been more um grounded in reality Supernatural reality so um I thought that looked good I I also um the the like narrator guy um apparently passed away as well I wish I had his his name but uh he's really cool cuz in all those an uh dark pictures anthologies you you'd cut away from the action he'd be like what are what are the teens going to be doing in that that Lake and stuffin price he was a very Vincent Price kind of character yeah and it was really cool and and you'd have to answer questions to him and he'd do [ __ ] with like tarot cards and stuff and um yeah he he he passed away uh so I don't know if they'll cast someone else for this new entry but um those are just consistently like kind of also super massive uh as well on on that one but um yeah those are yeah just consistently fun smaller experiences love a good like more five six hour type experience as well so um yeah that one popped for me a little bit um uh anything uh jump out of you Kayla at all anything that you were excited about not that we haven't already mentioned or that is like coming out very soon like I'm the Diablo trailer kind of confused me a little bit uh I remember like we've already seen cinematic that went along with the storyline of where we left off and this just kind of was I don't I don't even remember what it was CU mercenaries They Se yeah yeah it's a good call still excited I had to do some research on that CU I was also really confused so like I guess these mercenaries they introduce these like four new characters they're not playable but you can hire them and do one of two things they can either like fill out your party in in Diablo or you can like attach them to one of your skills like a when your cooldown skills and when you pop off whatever skill you pop off that character will also do whatever like you're going to be able to like Junction them with different abilities and stuff they mentioned Junction yeah Junction yeah I I use that on purpose um uh like one is like a shield Bearer or whatever else and and one of the examples they did was maybe your attack leaves you open for a lot of like counterattacks and a lot of damage but you would junct this guy onto that attack he'd come out and create like a defensive barrier while you're doing your kind of highrisk maneuver or or what have you so that's cool it's like it's meant to like combo off and use them as like um even for like a one player experience now you can have the experience of like a team Synergy and stuff Combos and stuff like that yeah it seems interesting it seems complicated for like uh in in like the all the different choices you have and and everything else cuz it's four different mercenaries with four different I guess skill sets and then within those skill sets they have various you know additional skills and skill trees or or whatever um and level up and and all that so yeah it seems like it adds a super layer of complexity to a game that has quite a bit of complexity already but um we're getting vessel hatred pretty soon I think that's October Kayla yeah right yeah I think so yeah is there is there a BlizzCon this year or those going to be advertised I don't know I don't think there is but yeah they just had Quake con right that's right which they showed apparently uh Doom footage at for the new Doom Dark Ages which didn't get shown anywhere else um didn't they say they're skipping BlizzCon this year or something right I don't know G in 2024 okay cool cool cool yeah I I know if they had one since they got acquired so I was curious how they going to like work now be a good way to work in like you could do a joint BlizzCon and Xbox showcase or something like because BlizzCon has felt I like lacking seeing as like oh well we're not doing anything new for Starcraft and we're not doing anything new for like most of our properties so it's like like how are we going to fill out BlizzCon um but now that it's linked with with everything else with with you know the Microsoft Studios and stuff you could do a joint thing that maybe fills out a little bit more yeah I I just curious a lot going on you know uh War within this month I mean I think now actually or tomorrow yeah the new big exion giant um and then of course you know the Diablo I thought maybe they just had a little something to talk about or something I don't know cool Marvel R scared oh yeah can't wait for OverWatch Marvels for sure on that one that's getting I feel like people are are generally uh pretty high on that one R good reception Concord for sure yes yes Concord oh one I wanted to mention from gamescon was this uh I think it's called like arc Arc Raiders or something I think the same developer is the finals it just came out it's like a Survival PVP extraction shooter game the aesthetic feels very like alien like just the suits and stuff like that kind of retro like feel to it the art looked cool I didn't know what it was yeah yeah it's hard to put a you know P pen in it but uh it looked cool okay yeah um another what did you guys think of uh uh masters of albian this was the um Peter malanu uh weird God game um that that that was an odd odd performance over funny so for those who don't know all the kids out there Peter malanu was uh before Shawn Murray was making huge promises for No Man's Sky Peter malanu was making promises for every big game this was the former head of lion lion head Studio the Fable Studio before that you know made a ton of you know groundbreaking PC games back in the day populist uh black and white dungeon keeper and uh was kind of exiled to mobile uh development for a while uh developed a game called goddess uh where if you you play this game and you were trying to find some kind of like Pandora's Box in the center of it and then if the person who found that was supposed to get uh profits from the game or something which didn't exist there were no profits for the game and uh just another one of the big Tales that uh Mal news twisted and he's back and he introduced another God game uh where you can kind of drop down into the world and play as one of the the villagers or whatever from this uh you know down world that you're creating and it there was parts that seemed kind of cool you can create like fashion all of the weapons that your that your army uses and all of the armor you can like really customize all that stuff uh the cursor is like a hand from from like I think black and white or populace one of those and you're you know picking up the little guys and dropping them where you want and the Hand reacts when you're up against like different surfaces and walls and things and uh it had a very mobile look to it uh did not it wasn't very pretty and uh fire beware if you're dealing with malanu so I even key even thought like H what am I doing he's back he kept like shouting things at at malanu and uh uh to tie back to uh to minmax and Game Informer there is a very funny video of Dan rer uh having malanu uh rate uh fart apps W they found like One E3 years ago they found malanu like in a back hallway and got him to sit down and rate different fart apps that Dan rer had just you know fart sounds and and things and uh funny video funny video to see a elderly British man great F and it all you know uh Fable was a lot of fart humor 10 out of 10 10 out of yeah yeah those those Brits and they so what do we think of uh this God game whatever for me yeah it looked a little complicated like I like the animations I like Mike mentioned like the hand like it's lit the cursor's a literal hand that like plucks a character and you take it and they like you know do their little um flail and stuff yeah they're squirming in your hand and you maybe set them at the the other side of your village to go Harvest your plants or whatever um you know Mike mentioned how you can fashion your own weapons and armor and everything anything else it it looked like a really indepth system but the humor also came in that like one of the things was shown was like you could make a bread sword because you have bread and you have like sword handles or whatever and it's like it probably won't be effective right yeah it's like okay it's that might be fun to just like mess around with or whatever how how deep is this like of course I'm just going to put the best blade I have on the sword like I'm not how many different good options are there going to be yeah I don't know it had a lot going on I I didn't know what the hell it was when I first saw it I thought it was VR for a second there cuz the hand I thought like you had the headset you know you kind of go into the character and do that and I was like what the hell is this game this is just so many Concepts into one like one am I I don't know [ __ ] I'm doing it's so crazy it's like Civ 5 for a second there or you know a lot of different things going on so I don't know it was weird not for me though I don't think so yeah yeah there was a big VR game though with that uh that Arkham the Batman game oh God man yeah lot Troy Baker looking rough so much Troy Baker I don't yeah I mean it didn't have the Fidelity of course of any of those Rock Steady games but I I I don't know I it seemed like they were trying to keep that combat that same combat and be and having to like I maybe they'll have like in your peripheral like that like you know little flash that an enemy is to your right or something it seemed like yeah there was some some of that visual stuff yeah I could see myself just trying to like blindly just swing everywhere the the Barton Lisa taking kids out as you go um the they had like there was like a really nice like swing kick kind of uh thing that maybe just feels good in VR I haven't played enough VR to ever really tell what's going to be good or bad but uh I don't know could be they keep on trying to do VR so hard and it just doesn't work for me I don't know why I just nothing looks appealing future it's a tough like sell just just from the price standpoint for me with VR because it's like we we've played Kayla and I um uh played a little bit at at like our cousins and um and like beat saber as an example was like a ton of fun we had so much fun playing Beat saber but it's like uh $500 for beat saer I don't know and this Batman game is meta Quest three exclusive so if you have like a two you can't play it the good old days where you could go and kind of even rent a console at a video store you don't have those anymore yeah yeah and there's always that weird like um cleanliness factor of it you know like if I'm beating the [ __ ] out of like the Penguin and getting all sweaty and then all right kayin now it's your turn you I thought was going somewhere else entirely uh you know I just oh yeah yeah and all the porn games you know that's that's what that's you really get your $500 for no no being off to the penguin that's what that's what that's what I thought you were going to say beating the [ __ ] out of the penguin okay those are two different guys I know if you've seen Cape Crusader but uh I haven't oh penguin's a lady in that one yeah smash okay okay yeah yeah I was like Helen pharoh's hot awesome man love a big beefy penguin lady um I think one of the biggest things for me wasn't even the game announcement it was secret level the new show from blur studio uh it yeah I forgot about that for for a little second when we were talking about the beefy penguin lady why yeah that'll that'll take anyone's mind off of off of real stuff like secret level real secret level but yeah this is a show U from the creators of Love death and robots um I think this is also going to be Netflix Prime nope Prime oh it's going to be on Prime okay cool and this is all like oneoff episodes of just different game properties and stuff 15 total and we're getting like armored Core Dungeons and Dragons uh Mega Man which was like such a cool little tease in that the model for Mega Man looked really cool um we're getting sefue Spelunky outer worlds a uh a PlayStation just overall kind of uh thing which maybe it'll be like a All Stars Battle Royale type them I don't I don't know show Kos in like a modern uh a modern city which is why yeah that's you know the stage selection from allar who knows yeah that's a ra of the rappa [ __ ] background Manz you didn't notice it foolish God asot real tournament I think too um yes that one should be fun yeah Tiana Reeves is in the armored Core episode oh [ __ ] really yeah oh yeah yeah he oh yeah he's lended his likeness I and I assume his voice probably to the armored Core uh episode that's coming soon too December 10th at hits Prime yeah and uh the head of the studio was up there on stage he got real emotional about it which was a cool moment and uh yeah just one of them little Oddball things you know hats off to key for find you know let finding this a spot for it and uh man kind of Rose above everything else in a way and kind of got me you know my second win for the show at a time where it was kind of lagging I fell too and uh that looked really neat surprise of the show for me without a doubt like it did not think especially oh ke's announcing something that's not video games specific like oh boy what's coming on a lot and it doesn't always work and this one worked for sure yeah always does a lot of movie TV show tie-in kind of stuff and yeah yeah this I think this hit it out of the park did you guys uh have you guys checked out love death and robot yeah I haven't you guys like it a lot right I like it a lot yeah I haven't seen it yeah that got me really excited cuz like that's I'm interested to see how those uh that Anthology is definitely like not safe for children and stuff it's it's definitely like R-rated so I wonder what they're going to do with this if this is also going to be like a um more adult like uh um I hope for like a what if Star Wars Visions level of I don't know because I I like watching those with the kids we watched all of like Star Wars Visions in one go and uh it was a lot of fun hopefully these are like that yeah yeah you want to like you know you want pack but like weird like Pac-Man as an example it does look like way darker than you you would think it's like this post-apocalyptic weird alien thing and the Pac-Man is like um a I don't know like a creepy death robot so um okay yeah it's got teeth cool if they're just taking weird just taking it in Oddball places like that that it's not just you know Pac-Man in a maze fting goes or no I think he's some kind of weird like little uh companion bot that has like uh razor teeth it's pretty it's pretty nuts um fly's the main character me into it um yeah that was that was that was really cool so that's uh secret levels that's coming December 10th to to Prime um my my favorite thing aside from that was uh we Harvest Shadows um yeah that looked W so this is what was the what did they call this a um a dark farming allegory was that what it was a farming horror allegory something like that um a ham Monster uh Jeff ke what what they call it no um so kees on a farm so this is like an isolated guy on a farm who has trouble getting outside uh as some sort of like phobia of of leaving this this house maybe thinking of um you know ending his own life or something like that the the task there's like one task in your notebook is is leave uh get out of the house he does and starts farming but also there's monsters I think that's what uh to Su that one up uh looked terrifying the I guess there's a bunch of hidden eyes in in the trailer if you rewatch it um I listened to a a little thing uh from the developer and so um yeah go ahead and rewatch it it's only like a two-minute trailer or something like that but uh I did catch one of them in in like the Wardrobe or whatever that they show early on um in the trailer but yeah it's so so creepy and and just like it's a cozy game but not cozy I guess yeah it just stardew meets like Silent Hill or something you know like something like that uh completely and then just like the agoraphobia kind of aspect of it I I'm kind of into as well as someone who did not feel comfortable at Soldier Field and wanted to go home many times uh stuck it out you know and someone who could feel like I just want to I just want to be home all the time I don't want to go outside I do like it yeah was definit that was part of the pre-show as well and uh yeah the the developer seemed pretty cool he was really wanted to focus on like kind of I don't know the the Poetry of of the kind of the the story that he want to tell and stuff and seemed like it was legit like it could be like a dark horse great game or something so uh very looking forward to that what was the game you wanted to note got a release date Kayla I supposed to write it down but then I didn't Plucky Squire the Plucky Squire yeah we got a September release date for the Plucky Squire at Gamescom so um good call on that that was exciting to hear that game looks so good it is so cute yes yeah if you don't know this is like the children's book kind of you know character you're actually playing you know going flipping the pages but then the character can actually break out of the book and he's on top of the desk and he's you know go you know on the the coffee mug and you that's a level that you play you know you're going around the coffee mug and interacting with any you know I I think uh there's like a magic card that you jump into at one point or something similar to that and that that looked really good uh can't wait for looks great yeah Exile too also got a uh a I guess a I mean that game is like Diablo and crack so yeah that's what it looks like it looks amazing I can't wait for it uh but it got its first uh I think early early access early something I think maybe beta testing in November so I'm really excited to get my hands on that looking forward to that for a while it looks amazing yeah the one I wish it was Co-op you know that's the one downside oh is it it is Co-op it is Co-op yeah Oh I thought that was a single player Oh path path Exile one you could play like six people or whatever so oh wow well they they need to advertise that better all right or I need to be more up on my [ __ ] maybe I'm wrong maybe I'm wrong but I know one is definitely uh you know Coop and they're very like they're very Community Centric so like they're very about like pleasing the cuz that's how path ex one got so successful cuz they're just like you guys want this okay this is what we're going to do we're going to make a different iterate on it um but yeah really excited for that really they pumped cuz yeah like it it looks like just a kind of a prettier Diablo and Diablo is pretty as hell already and but like that's what sells Diablo for me and Kayla is like oh yeah we can just sit and play this game yeah local co-op it says so okay well path Exile just rose on my uh sick dick um was that key game king of meat was that that dumb king of meat king of meat there we go what did I sayam monster the king of meat I was [ __ ] close I was real close guys yeah because I'm looking at it looks like Bugs Bunny with a [ __ ] helmet like a warrior helmet or some [ __ ] this game you said a mobile game it looked like a mobile game I don't know what it is ham monster king of meat that's what it was there was some things from the show that didn't really jive with uh the Borderlands 4 announcement oh yeah didn't really thought the trailer was neat like the whole planet like destroying another planet uh thing Indiana Jones still does not just kind of jive with me I don't think that's gonna be just the I thought the first person punching looked better than than the Indie stuff I and machine games I've said it before they're not they can tell a great Tale But playing it not not their not their best so we'll see and that Dune game just kind of looked not not like the best I don't know I don't want to build you know cubicles and on the sand yeah sand worm stuff looked cool but I want a doom game so bad but I don't want that Dune game like if they have like Early Access for like a beta test I might try it but other than that it didn't sell me that hard I I mean it looks kind of fun to play through homies for like a night or something yeah I think they should whoever's trying to capitalize on the Dune stuff should maybe lean towards like a life is strange style like that that stuff leans on like kind of the the back room you know whisperings and flashing you know from you know here to there to there you know not really focusing on the the desert combat of it maybe I don't know you don't want to Nuke your enemies I mean worm your enemies to death I I played a little of that Dune strategy game when that was in Early Access I don't know if that's fully released yet um and oh yeah uh it that didn't work for me either like it it wasn't Age of Empires so um I don't know uh just I don't know if Dune Dune Works May maybe like a life is strange Dune would be would be really cool I I think just a solo game story driven RPG same universe would work you know give me like a god of war whatever you know whoever some character You' never heard of like in that Universe I think that would do really well I think the multiplayer online thing is a hard stretch for that franchise it's really hard to do my personal opinion um I see that trying to do it I don't but people want to be you know the chosen one you know they want to play something you know special and do that kind of story which I would I'd be I'd play that for sure yeah yeah I I don't know and with like Marvel Rivals it's just like I keep seeing these games and I I don't want to play them keep showing me them for me dang it yeah only show me the games I like yeah me elen ring again I mean you you got it light uh black Wukong just relased oh yeah that's that's not Elden ring you're you're silly don't be silly all right yeah anything else anyone wants to oh ask I just want to touch on the Borderlands you know after that like insane you know flop in the theaters um I wonder how people are going to like you know kind of receive this new new one I mean Borderland is a great franchise it's just didn't they get bought recently or something like thater yeah and embracer group or something bought them just I got to see more I mean I'm interested kind of cuz the franchise holds a lot of weight but like I just got to see more of what they're going to do with it how they're going to make a different stand out in this like era where like so many different like you got Concord you got like all these different like shooter games that you know kind of trying to do something out of the box and how are you going to draw me back into Borderlands again that's what I want to want them to sell me on like bring me yeah sure bought it I agree with you this is a quicker turnaround than two to three was um it look the trailer made it seem like the art style might be changing maybe a little bit up from the from sell Shady stuff um not happy I imagine they're not happy that like you know I'm sure this was planned out well ahead of time that oh we're going to have this trailer at at Gamescom and everything else and oh we're going to coincide with this movie and I bet you that movie's going to do all right you know like video game movies has been doing all right lately um and them yeah you could even tell like some people were excited in the crowd but it's also was kind of like a kind of oh okay and and that game might be awesome you know the the series has been fine like yeah the the first three games have been fine so they shouldn't like I hope no one doesn't give Borderlands 4 a chance because the movie's trash like they kind of don't have anything to do with each other you know but um I I think it's hurt the brand value I would have to say yeah I don't know like the the lead guy getting caught like Randy Pitchford getting caught up in all that weird stuff didn't hurt Borderlands 3 I don't even know if it's gonna if people are even going to remember it once they finally see like oh they added a new class with a cool robot or something I I don't know let's hope yeah be fine you might be right the magician himself ran show clap trap and everyone will go that's not my clap trap that's not Jack Black anything else from uh Gamescom literally uh I just wanted to mention uh it because it was a funnest looking game uh maybe not the best game uh but squirrel with a gun nobody talk about squirrel with a gun yes I I know that's forg 20 tell me about it D tell what uh it just look he's just he finds an underground facility where he can exchange his the acorns for guns and uh you know he just keeps uh keeps shooting guns man it looks great tail old his time at this point you squir the gun girl with the gun it looks super fun it looks super fun and dumb and I need a you know they had Goat Simulator I'm like yeah you know it's been around but squirrel with a gun that's new that's new Dumb fun Killer Bean what was the other one yeah yeah Killer Bean yeah oh my God they get Michael Bean in Killer Bean oh my God oh my God never see Eric again never again never again from orgasm overdose uh my one last thing it was part of the pre-show I thought it looked really cute and really cool was begone Beast yeah number one on my list here uh it was like a four player uh you play as like these little cute like animal kids I think there was like a lion or like a w like you know all four different animals and you're just kind of exploring a haunted mansion or something and it's like isometric you're shining flashlights and uh this elevator opens and all these like Elden ring hands are fing chasing them out of this thing um a really cool mix of tone I felt um very kind of like a monster house or parent Norman that kind of kind of style to it um but then at some point uh something triggers where you like trigger your like beast mode powers and you get like these cool weapons and stuff and you're just fighting hordes of enemies and it looked like just a fun cool four-player thing kind of like uh Maga which we kind of played back back in the day and stuff like that oh yeah um uh just looked neat had a lot of cool personality to it yeah looks really cute and pretty soon on that one too uh as soon as February uh 2025 is at this point which is which is nuts to say but um pretty soon pretty few months away a few months away it's crazy uh yeah beone Beast that that that was my favorite from the pre-show I think really cool all right that's Gamescom 2024 uh and d23 and um the final segment of our show is upcoming we're going to talk about everything we've checked out um in the long time between recordings um not everything because you know that' be just so much so much stuff but uh some of the the real highlights um Kayla and I went to the Final Fantasy 7 Orchestra I should mention how cool that was if you guys can go to to one of those um if you're a final fantasy fan um also heard they've done a good job with like uh other gaming franchises like like Zelda and stuff like that Ben Hansen said he he saw the Zelda one and and thought it was really cool but we saw the Final Fantasy 7 rebirth version um and despite some of my misgivings about that game overall um the music is is phenomenal and they really highlighted so so the orchestra's playing while they're showing scenes and and battles and stuff from the game on a on a huge screen and it really it highlighted all the things that I did really like about that game the the characters the moments the humor um and and how like the music kind of is such an important part of all those things so um yeah so big shout out to the Chicago Symphony and and Final Fantasy 7 rebirth concert and everything else it was a lot of fun yeah it was just very like trans transportative I don't know what were like you would just be taken away to the to the battle scene and it was fun yeah that was a good one yeah I telling Eric you know I've been to a couple it's just like the Zelda ones that are so are so fun cuz you get the cosplay of course like everybody you know got their switches out or or whatever and it's just so casual and easy just to talk with people and it's different you know different vibe love it yeah we we uh hung out outside a little bit and watched uh as all the cosplayers were were coming in there were some really really good on some really great t-shirts too um no big deal my t-shirt uh uh was complimented on by Ben Hansen but um uh there were way better t-shirts there than than what I was rocking um they they they were really cool and some great great cosplay just people um a lot of like of of the um we saw a really good uh the crossdressing uh cloud from from the first uh game the first remake and and stuff and a nice very like dress that you would wear to the symphony beautiful yeah beautiful dress yeah um people people were really going all out we saw characters from like uh other games too there was a really good uh Squall and renoa uh from Final Fantasy 8 there um oh so yeah there was there was great t-shirt great cosplay um good good time had had by all um and it was a 3:00 show perfect just middle of the day like come on that was that was cool um and then uh the other thing that I need to talk about is alien ramulus um you saw it oh oh yeah oh yeah appar great so no no spoilers or anything else I don't want to do that because I know you know Mike you want to check that one out and um but I I really enjoy my time with it I don't know where it ranks all time and we're we've been going and rewatching all them so we watched Prometheus Covenant and the original alien um this actually takes place in between uh Alien one and two and Aliens um in in the timeline um and uh yeah it it really captures I think like the uh the environments like the production of alien and Aliens it feels like it fits really well in those movies from the like kind of analog technology and stuff the CRT kind of monitors and the real like clicky buttons and everything all of that that that kind of dirty technology of of the the near future and there's a lot of callbacks to um there's maybe a little bit too much fan service maybe but um a lot of it's a lot of fun like it got some Chuckles me and and um uh I it's and it's it's from fed Alvarez who uh did like don't breathe and the remake of uh the Evil Dead um I would say it's it's somewhere in between those two movies in terms of its like gruesomeness um I I think the Evil Dead remake is one of the more like kind of hellacious movies I've seen in a in a long time and this doesn't quite go to that level but there's some there's some good kills and some uh some things that I think haven't really been in other Alien movies in terms of violence and and and cool cool things that the the aliens are doing and the humans are getting into so uh if you're I think it's it's an essential movie for an alien fan if you're more like on the fence and like H I'm not a big big alien fan maybe it's not as essential but um if you're a fan of of the alien movies or or even most of the alien movies I I think it's it's it's good for you yeah man that's great to hear yeah I'm off the next three days uh in between doing moving stuff maybe I'll try to catch uh romuli yeah the aliens win for sure it had some really fun like things that they did with the aliens and the girl I liked it I thought it was yeah Kaylee spanny uh is is blown up like I mean she's I thought she was she was good in this one but um saw her earlier in the year in Civil War haven't seen Priscilla yet but I've I've heard good things about her her performance and that as well so I think she's to yeah oh yeah May uh definitely um rising star and it's it is a younger cast and it's it's um it's a cool I like the cast they're all like 20y olds kind of um so it's um stranger aliens huh Str a little but it's not I I I don't they're all they're way grittier than it's it's a grittier movie than a stranger things you know these are kind of like shitty 20-year- olds instead of like Plucky fun you know teenagers or whatever usually you know it's D McBride and Billy crup and yeah lot lot of new youthful energy in this one I would say uh that's cool that's cool not that any of them survive but uh right but yeah no it's I I I do re recommend it go go check it out um was there anything else we checked out recently Kayla that's worth talking about I know we we checked out a lot but I mean we beat dungeons of hinterberg uh like that game a lot beat dungeons of hinterberg we watched X-Men 97 I liked that saw X-Men 97 yes yes o did you like it Kayla hell yeah I did like it I liked it a lot awesome awesome we'll definitely be coming up later in the year it worked in a in a rewatch as well I I rewatching it so did you get any further in villain sag Eric did you watch on your own time no no that's a that's a you and me and d uh exclusive I gotta I got to be with my boys so I'm still on episode six or whatever you think K would like it I think so yeah I I think I think so it's um I don't think there's anything at least in the first five six episodes that I've watched that I would be like uh Kayla would find that like problematic or you know or or uninteresting or something I think it's it's a pretty cool like straightforward Heroes Saga at least five six episodes in you know yeah I dig it I I like the animation too but um yeah that's that'll be all for for me and Kayla I think for for now at least uh go go play dungeon to hinterberg uh that was a that was an enjoying experience and it might come up at the end of the year for me uh so I like that one that's on Game Pass everyone um Ryan how about you man it's been forever oh man it's been it's been a hot minute Jan Wilds with your big bear man I know yeah janther Wilds amazing expansion loving every minute of it uh played a lot maybe too much this week um streaming it all that good stuff Gil Wars 2 MMO expansion it's all I need to know um I've been doing a lot of streaming of Final Fantasy 16 that has been pretty fantastic experience um in other games not much other games but a lot other movies and shows and a lot of different little things uh finally saw Wolverine in Deadpool uh that was uh that was a lot of fun a lot of laughs it was it was good I enjoyed it uh the cameos the cameos I mean it just uh I'm excited to see what they're going to do with all the trailers spoil every one of them now so it's oh that's yeah all right cuz you know I I been keeping ear to the ground on that one but uh yeah I loved it I'm I'm excited I I know it like made like a billion dollars or something so hopefully you know Marvel's not afraid to take that extra step and hey there's other franchises that we can do um what else have I been watching a lot of anime per usual um a lot of Animal Planet shows I don't know everything seems kind of the same these days so going back to that um really looking forward to the second half of the year Well fourth part of the year really I mean you got squir with a gun rings of Power is coming up I'm really excited for days yeah yeah it just so much is you know it's hard to keep up with but man I'm excited for it you got Warhammer coming early astrobot you name it so so much look forward to the next like three September is crazy yeah it's going to be a crazy September uh other than that man not not much else on the gaming front uh again just a lot of anime not a lot of new other shows I have been watching um yeah that's that's kind of been it for the most part guys I got no cool you know concerts I've been going to or anything like that so well I'm glad because that then you were able to make it you know if yeah if you had seen like uh Jared letto or something you wouldn't be here uh D had to to leave a little bit early wanted to hear about his uh his Elden Ring Journey um but uh we we'll get that on a a future future episode um says he's doing good though he's doing just dodging slashing with that Katana he's doing he's doing bleed doing some bleed stuff hell yeah keep at it buddy where's uh where's your journey Mike going um back to hollow night uh I've I have replayed most most of hollow night now I'm trying to do the full 112% which I've never done I've never come close to but uh man what a game what a just God the combat feels so good the dodging the jumping the Striking down you know every Everything feels so good in that um great pacing in that game I still think it's the goat Metro Vania love it uh finish like the Coliseum the three big like Arena waves that you do and that for the first time and just was like felt like my heart was going to like float out of my chest I was like I did it I did it um but there's a more harder challenges to come in that game I hope I can do it um finish a smaller game uh thank goodness you're here uh this is from Cole supper the same Studio that did a Untitled Goose game and this game is kind of similar you play as a little character and you're going around a a town and helping or UNH helping a lot of the the patrons and things of the of the town and all the people residents and uh it's really funny I think it's I think it's a a blast it's like two hours long and you just play as this little character uh waiting for his meeting with a marketing executive I think and you're just going around the town and helping the the people at the meat you know shop and helping you know the meat shop shut down and the guy the the locksmith is having his pint at the pub so you got to go to the pub and fix the kegs at the pub so he can get his morning pint and then he makes it to the you know to unlock the door and it's it's one of those fun things you're just kind of going back and forth this town and more areas are kind of opening up and you're meeting new characters and the dialogue's very funny at one point there's just a guy outside picketing and he's just holding a sign that says uh BBA and as you get closer to him he starts bring back asbestos it worked in the 70s and it still works now good funny stuff like that it's very uh very British apparently this uh it's kind of a a town in nor Northern England I believe it's fashioned after and uh a lot of great accents a lot of great stuff uh the main guy uh tomas's guy from what we do in the shadows or whatever yes he is a a voice this and uh there's a there's a part at the end that is going to come up at moments and it's really cool I I thought it was it was very neat uh great ending to the game um I think that's about it on the games front you said that one's only like a couple hours right yeah yeah I think so nice um two two to three somewhere in that range okay finished it like like one or two sittings it was really fun at some point Owen and Selena sat down like towards the end and they saw the whole like ending part and we were just cracking up and laughing together and it was it blessed it was fun and um watched some stuff uh saw despicable me4 oh took a few of the kids to see that Selena took two of the kids to see Coraline for the 15th anniversary they saw that in 3D they really liked it um so I took uh Calvin and Owen to Despicable Me and it it was fine I've seen a couple of those uh no gentle minions no one dressed up I was disappointed in that um but yeah from like a six-year-old last night that said it was much better than you're giving it credit for oh wow oh yeah if if Owen was here he would have as soon as he walked in the door he was like great movie great movie mom you missed a good one that's awesome he they they both CL it um another movie I didn't love so much was Waters um Shan's daughter uh made this one um Dakota Fanning stars and just not it's not very interesting the whole of it they do I will give them credit the ending was not what I expected it to be they kind of do something a little interesting with that but man it just takes so long to get to to it and like 90 minutes and it but it doesn't feel like it it feels like it just kind of drags and just not not great not great stuff the I think it's the main actress from Barbarian is in it as well uh the one spooky older lady from Mandy with like the white hair she's in it um and I like those actresses and other thing you know that's Stu but and this they're just not not doing it not a great script um a movie I did really like was Challengers oh yeah the Luka guadino film from earlier this year with Zenia the theh tennis thle movie uh man Luca is my guy I I just he's he's great love bones and all really like this um we'll probably rewatch it at some point um did not anticipate at the structure of the film okay um won't spoil it but it's not just a straightforward thing I really like how uh it the story is delivered and uh it's just a fun sexy kind of cool movie uh and I don't think we get enough of stuff like that and highly recommend it and uh I think that's it for me nice nice yeah here there's a churro action so I'm I'm I'm excited for any sort of churro action in any film that might be the best scene in the my favorite scene in the movie is the the churro scene okay it's all I know all I know is there's a churro somewhere in that movie so well if you're looking for hot sexy movies I mean the crow it's coming out so you know yeah no thank you yeah I don't like that lady Twigs or whatever her name FK twin yeah I don't know I don't know what her deal is I yeah yeah uh yeah watched I also watched half of the bike riders okay mov is it with um I really wanted to see that but it went out of theaters really quick yeah it did Z Pika oh is it oh okay how was it how was it I was really looking forward to that uh Selena finished it I I fell asleep because you know bedtime and uh she really enjoyed it I I I'm digging it so far I've watched like half it's two hours uh good Tom hard he's doing a fun little you know voice it of course Austin Butler doing yeah they had Norman Reus in right no he's not in it he's got to be it's a bike it's a bike movie nor no he's right here they say nor Marita is funny Sunny he's in the movie funny Sunny that's his name right here I'm looking at the the cast yeah Mike tell me all about funny Sunny ter Kayla might have a problem his teeth are horrendous I bet God they are just like a color I've never seen yes uh oh they I already feel like I'm gonna have a problem with Tom Hardy's mouth he looks like he does weird things with his mouth I he doesn't open it very far he just kind of is just speaking through his lips through most of the film and uh B in it I've heard a lot about uh her voice work jod Comer's Voice work that's her name right yeah oh yeah yeah and uh sorry I was cutting out when I was trying to figure that out and uh she's doing just like an old timey like Chicago accent I think she's doing a great job I don't know it worked for Meo I like Jody comr a lot I I think she's really talented yeah I I will finish that and uh if I liked it I'll check back in you know on it and if I didn't uh you'll know why because I didn't say anything yeah report back um all right well I think that is everything uh that we had to share in episode 177 just oh Ryan's got his finger up what is he got I I I wanted to mention I am going to be starting my first Chrono Trigger play through shortly I have downloaded the game it is on Steam I know you guys are big fans of the trigger so I just wanted to put that out there so I can kind of never played it I never played trigger no okay awesome yeah I play I played a little bit of cross back in the day and uh I'm excited I'm excited oh that's awesome one of the best G all right well you're gonna have to be on some future episodes then cuz we're going to need to to know what is going on with Chrono Trigger um you plan on like streaming it or anything or yeah it's going to be a stream only game it looks very digestible easily to do so okay yeah cool cool that's a good one man it starts quick and just always there's never not a real not a lot of side quest aame or anything just keeps action-packed it's great that's a quick start yeah yeah without a doubt compared to like the final fantasies of the area era and stuff like that definitely um cool man yeah I'm going to watch watch some of those streams or or the vods either way um brimstar right on on Twitch oh yeah twitch.tv/ brimstar if you're curious about tad Tad C some we'll see I mean not as bad as uh the like mgs1 I mean more I think wow I'm swe okay see I told Kayla I was like oh I know mgs1 was was tough for you cuz that's a that's a weird perspective and it's it's not as modern I feel like mgs2 is way more modern but now Mike is like no [ __ ] that it's it's terrible there there's a lot of addition there's a lot of weird things the but the pressure sensitive uh things you can do with like in first person and things um maybe I I don't want to you know like scare anybody but uh I just remember there being a just a lot a lot of weird
