the Halloween season is officially upon us as Tim Burton returns to direct Beetlejuice Beetlejuice I'll stop right there and this movie does pick up 36 years later after the original as we are reunited with the de family well not all of them and we do have newcomer Jenna Ortega who joins the family and I must say I thought her character was kind of bland it just seemed like they were playing off of her mom's character from the first movie also something that didn't quite work for me is the whole Monica belucci storyline of being beetlejuice's wife coming back to get revenge it just really goes nowhere in the end now to go into some highlights of the movie I am going to start with Katherine O'Hara who does return from the original also William defo who once again just always does great in anything he's in and then of course I have to talk about the production design uh practical effects the movie just knocked it out of the park I thought it looked absolutely phenomenal the biggest highlight of the movie is the man himself Beetlejuice Michael Keaton it was just great to see him back again he is so funny he eats up the scenery in every scene he's in so anyways that's Beetle Juice Beetle Juice it's a little clunky at times but I thought ultimately it was pretty good really
