the SMU must states start their campaign off with a road game in Reno Nevada are they ready to join the ACC let's talk about that coming up [Music] next how's everybody doing tonight I am Colin basingle your host here at bashes C FB show you can find me over here on Tik Tok basor CFB show you can just look it up or find the link down in the description below also down below you can comment what you think of this game and some other stuff that you want me to talk about and finally like the video as this will push it onto other people's uh recommended pages that love college football I would really appreciate it and certainly subscribe if you want some more college football content today we're talking about the SMU Mustangs opening up their ACC time as a member a full member of the conference on the road at Nevada which is a very interesting week Zero game it's definitely built in there for SMU to get a extra bye throughout the course of their first power for season and will that Pro prove to be beneficial I don't know the challenge that Nevada is going to be faced with is going to be defending an offense that replaces nothing essentially out wide just a couple of guys on the offensive line which were really good and I think this SMU offensive line could take a tick down from where they were last year as the best offensive line in the American Athletic Conference but Preston stone is an experienced quarterback that has a year under his belt now and comes off of injury from being the highest recruit in SMU football history to essentially being the guy that is looked to as one of the better quarterbacks in the ACC in their first year is going to have two guys behind him and Jaylen knon and also um LJ Johnson Jr who's really good as a Duo and they also got other guys too that are going to be able to play for this squad at SMU but they also return seven of their top receivers from a year ago RJ Maryland the tight end Brinson out wide receiver bayy and some other guys too and I think that this offense is going to be very dangerous in ACC play and they will be very interesting to watch I also think that what they did addressing the defensive line in the portal was Insanity I mean they were went off in the portal and certainly won it with the amount of money that they were spending got guys like Jefferson abore lockart to be able to strengthen that defensive line and strengthen their physicality to be able to compete in the ACC where they're going to have questions is specifically at cornerback and is Nevada capable of exposing that I don't really think they are they got a mobile quarterback in Brandon Lewis who is a guy that will run around a little bit but hasn't shown to be a very good passer in his long long time in college football let's not forget that he was a part of that 2020 Colorado team that actually had a pretty good season but he ended up getting replaced that season as a starting quarterback they do have good running back duo with Shawn dollars Pat garwo and a couple of other dudes too who will rotate in but overall what you're going to have to be built to do to be able to beat SMU with the offensive side of the ball is you can't especially if you're in Nevada try to out physical them and I think that's what they're going to have to do Nevada lost a lot in the portal when it came to wide receiver Talent they also are lacking certainly on the defensive side of the football and I don't want to gloss over that whatsoever because I think SMU could potentially run away with this as a result now don't overestimate the strength of smu's squad I think that SMU played off of a very weak schedule a year ago they had two big wins two big wins last season and they ended up losing the bowl game to Future acco Boston College and I think that SMU is not going to be as good as what a lot of people think they're gon to be this year but with that being said Nevada is in complete rebuild mode I think Jeff to Cho is the right guy for the job he comes in after you know rebuilding Montana State into a team that's currently a double digigit favorite over an FBS program tomorrow and I think that Jeff joke when he left and went to Texas and he did what he did over there it's an interesting situation that you find yourself in t taking this rebuild job excuse me from a Nevada team that has had success in the past and I think overall though this game is not going to be indicative I think Nevada is going to be on the right track going forward they're just a multi-year rebuild at this moment so I think SMU overall will cover the thread on the road I think that they will probably win this game somewhere around 49 to1 somewhere around there I think that Nevada is going to have a hard time keeping up and I think that the wolf pack are a little bit in over their head but good thing that Jeff Cho and the Nevada wolfback host a game getting the national Spotlight when it's basically a standalone game on CBS Sports Network in week zero but for that I am col baso here I'll be ready to react to college football news tomorrow thank you guys for tuning in really appreciate it and I'll see you guys in the next video
