Server Meshing Tests This Week & Star Citizen Alpha 3.24 Launch Issues FIXED? & More Of Pyro!

[Music] hello Ryan here AKA Mac and welcome in this video I will be running through all of the news helping to keep you all up to date with Star Citizen as always a huge thank you to all of my patrons and channel members thank you so much for all the support it is truly appreciated so let's begin with the latest on Star Citizen Alpha 324 now since its launch there has been a a lot of players dealing with a lot of blockers like the cargo missions not working hangers not allocating ships having ships missing inventory issues and getting stuck in the bed not even able to get out of your bed when you spawn in this of course is not good and it does feel like a little bit of a mini 318 right now it is definitely nowhere near as bad but still not a smooth roll out now since it's roll out to live which was on the 30th of August so about 3 to 4 days ago there has been quite a few hot fix patches to tackle these issu isues and as of the last patch that released last night they have resolved the bed stuck bug Oris and hanger issues Bounty markers not showing prison Merit values not working forever pending sell orders not being able to sell the Copan horns and morck Stones the hauling Mission bugs where crates are not appearing getting stuck in the hanger cargo boxes clipping from the cargo grid and the 30,9 disconnect issues as well stopping players from even launching the game plus quite a few others but this looks like most of the main issues that either I've dealt with or I've heard others dealing with so if you have been experiencing any of these bugs stopping you from playing 324 I do suggest downloading the latest build and trying it again as fingers crossed they are all resolved now but it was also confirmed that there will be multiple 324 Point patches to come with both content bug fixes and quality of life improvements which was obvious I expected this anyway as they work towards Alpha 4.0 also this week it was just mentioned that they are working on another 324 live build with further stability hot fixes plus they are putting together a new build for the tech preview Channel being a replication message queuing test with server meshing enabled this time we saw them running these rmq tests a few weeks back this time it is with server meshing enabled which is excellent news and the rmq is a change to the underlying Network code that will help more in the future rather than right now allowing them to process much more Network traffic more quickly and is an essential step to scaling the replication layer to support server meshing and increased player counts and even more interestingly they have actually been testing the new rmq in almost every 324 build since the PTU and they say they have gathered quite a good amount of data to keep improving it and in fact 50% of players are already testing the rmq on the live builds right now so firstly very sneaky and great news to see that the testing is ongoing but very happy to hear that they are planning on doing some tech preview tests with server meshing again as it is now onwards to 4.0 but that is the latest on the patch front very exciting news and here is to it all going perfectly well and smooth of course and don't forget that the Toby tracker 5 is still at 20% off for the next few days it is a great piece of kit that I highly recommend and I use mine every time I jump into Star Citizen using the link below will take you to that deal plus it does support my channel directly with a kickback so thank you so much to those of you who have done so so this last week we had a new inside Star Citizen this time it was looking at all of the possible dangerous Encounters of the Pyro system with pyro being a lawless system combat can erupt at any moment even in Social spaces with them potentially becoming War zones they want pyro to feel wild chaotic and dangerous as well so with each of these locations on Pyro's planets they are all designed to not just look interesting but accommodate ground vehicles and FPS combat providing enough cover and easy navigation so you could be doing a bit of trading and then all of a sudden a firefight breaks out outside and you have the choice to either draw a weapon and engage take cover and hide it out or high tail it out of there and fly away or run away now for the NPCs they have brought in a lot of the work that they've been doing for squadron 42 like NPC archetypes and classes meaning NPCs will now be able to defend specific areas and hopefully with the release of server mhigan 4.0 the game serers frame rates should remain at a higher more consistent level which will lead to a much more engaging experience with the NPCs and as we have seen already on various servers that we've been on where the server frame rate is high the NPCs are working great they are very formidable very challenging so it's going to be interesting to see how these new changes come in and affect the NPCs and just how difficult it can get now as mentioned there will be new MPC classes and traits as well rolling out with 4.0 like the techie they called it uh who uses light armor SMGs and is more aggressive so they focus on getting close to you and flushing you out cover and similarly we have the CQB I think they said a CQB class who obviously prefers Close Quarter battles using shotguns with an even higher aggression to that other techie who will rush and force you to get out of cover also NPCs will now be able to hold up inside rooms with shotguns waiting for you to step inside hopefully we can get flashbangs in game as well soon uh but this will make eliminate Target missions even more challenging not to mention if you're just trying to clear out a set settlement working your way in and out of the rooms you're going to have to be very careful now the Juggernaut MPC class is as you can imagine the heavy armored lmg wielding character that will just slowly push towards the player again flushing them out of cover we will also see Copan dogs as pets working alongside one faction uh I believe this will likely be the head hunters but they will be fighting you alongside the gang members hopefully we will see the ability to tame copion that would be very nice now the different factions will have varying accuracy profiles and aggression types so being very different to one another and when we get to pyro for the first time we will be able to join two faction options to begin with one being the head hunters who have a more tiered armor structure that players can acquire and the more higher the tier of armor the more tanky and resistant it becomes and as a head hunter you might be tasked with going to place like Sunset Mesa which is a location or a settlement owned and operated by the citizens of prosperity to sneak in and sabotage that location maybe destroying some fuel tanks taking out their defenses uh and if you are working or siding with the citizens of prosperity they have much higher in deadly accuracy using weapons that are more common to what we're using like bearing uh rather than these sort of New Frontier made style weapons or weapons like cams now working for the citizens of Prosperity a mission may require you to go to a head Hunter's location sneak in and then steal their scrap bringing it back to their own base for their own needs now regardless of whether you join the cop or the head hunters gang you will both be fighting the Xeno threat now these are found on pyro 2 pyro 3 and Pyro 6 and of course the gang controlled ruin station when that comes in uh and they are more like a PMC who are very cautious very careful they won't rush you they are a lot more defensive and will engage more at range having a higher accuracy profile to that of the other gangs plus they will conserve their ammo now it was also mentioned recently that NPCs will have limited ammunition they don't have infinite ammo anymore so hopefully we can use that to our advantage wait and cover let them use it all up if they do uh and then proceed forward now the Xeno threat settlement on pyro 2 is called last ditch and this is a large settlement with a town in one area and Mining sections sort of spread around tying into the law and history of the Pyro system as a place that was once run by a mega Corporation trying to capitalize on the system's resources now the settlement has been kind of turned upside down fortified with spiked defenses and barricades that are on fire and there will be a habitation settlement at the top and then down at the base of one of the Bluffs is a refiner area and a small mining Quarry offering some very interesting firefights as you progress through shadowfall is another Xeno threat Outpost which we saw actually in the St engine demo at citizen con last year and this lives in the shadow of a mountain on pyro 3 and sits at the shore of a lake a very nice spot unfortunately owned by the Xena threat but still a cool place to be now this has a lot of elevated sniper nests which will complement the sniper MPC archetype that apparently came out with 323 didn't notice that myself uh and these will allow NPCs to get a good sight down onto the location shooting you from a distance and of course if the NPCs can use them this also means that players can using these elevated location to get a lay of the land to plan an attack to provide feedback to players on the ground or friends on the ground or even provide cover and an OverWatch giving players the ability to inform themselves so that they can plan accordingly and this might also involve citing an AA turret and providing that information to someone in a ship so that they can come and destroy it or to people on the ground as I say guiding them to this location so that they can destroy it so that ships can get in and then you can come in in a drop ship drop off a squad of players and clear them out now it was also mentioned kind of off the cuff that these settlements May reinforce via another Outpost which I really hope is how it's going to work rather than just NPCs continuously spawning in Via spawn closets I hope that we can completely take out the gang in a location and then fend off any assaults as they they happen from other settlements as they fly in and it sounds like there is going to be a lot of contention between the factions in 4.0 and siding with the CP which I will be doing the citizens of prosperity fighting The Outlaw gangs will just be one option you may want to side with the head hunters earn your ranks unlocking better armor taking on the Zeno threat and cop as well these missions sound like they will be pitting each faction against each other and how you choose to complete those missions being either solo as a group how you approach how you ESS it is up to you and with all of these new AI archetypes and behaviors and abilities and hopefully the server frame rate remaining at a good steady 30 FPS it should be a lot more challenging I am very happy to hear that these new traits and classes are coming for 4.0 really expanding on the behaviors and the variety of how NPCs can react and for combat this should make NPCs a lot more difficult requiring players to properly think and react a lot more as well and plan an attack as going into a location guns blazing will probably be suicidal now I know a lot of people are concerned about how a player can just essentially walk up behind you and shoot you while you're say shopping or looting and yet that is definitely possible and I'm sure when 4.0 drops this will happen quite a bit but I am seeing more and more aspects come along that will deter this Behavior or make it even harder like NPCs becoming more deadly and and anti- ship turrets being very capable of taking out ships before they can even land so for players wanting to steal armor from another player they will need to plan the attempt wisely as just firing at you in a settlement will most likely lead to their death as well so they won't have time to loot your body meaning that it's going to be pretty pointless in the first place anyway that was inside Star Citizen let us move on so also this last week there was a new galact toeda update the agis saber perigrine was released into the wild with a Q&A as well this is a dedicated racing ship and I will be putting out a dedicated video giving it a little tour and Al lookie plus we have one to give away so do keep your eyes out for that one make sure you are subscribed and finally they brought back the f8c lightning gold ticket event for those interested in trying out the ship so that is it for this week's news update great to see more of what Alpha 4.0 holds and here is hoping that Alpha 324 can get fixed as soon as possible as it is such a great patch but it's a big shame that players are not able to enjoy it but with that said if you do appreciate my videos please do consider subscribing and helping the channel to grow also come and hang out over at twitch.tv/ Supermac brother you are on more than welcome over there we are having a great time in 324 living off grid trying to build a community out
