Learning Crossword Week 19 | NYT Crossword Wednesday Sept 11th, 2024

I'm learning to do the New York Times cross word I usually only do the Monday and Tuesday but I thought I would give Wednesday a try today and I'm going to not shy away from looking things up and using the Checker I'm going to try starting with just looking things up but uh yeah we'll see how this goes Wednesday is probably still above the difficulty I normally can do which is why I'm giving that disclaimer um so yeah hope you enjoy this let's go break down like oh I'm not sure overly overly is like too much um three-letter word for overly seems difficult journalist Sawyer so I am just right away I'm going to see if I can find a sawyer journalist Diane Diane Sawyer that makes sense I've heard of her much easier to remember names when you can Google all right if you don't like this that I'm looking things up right away I mean I'm happy to have that feedback um just kind about it please I I I heard that like you got to do the harder puzzles so you can kind of get an idea of what comes up a lot and what kind of tricks they like to use how they like to word things so the more I do even if I'm leaning a lot on looking things up maybe that'll help all right not now um you know what I got Diane so why don't I look at these Downs postpone delay even just having one letter often helps me a lot for yucks ooh like things you don't yucks with I would Spell yuck y CK so I'm not the comments let me know what I should do at this point like the options I can think of again are to do a direct crossword answer site and just get the answer to something um I can check her abuse which I think is the worst op option um a checker abuse meaning like turn on auto check and just try letters until one locks in I can just keep flipping between them I feel like that's a bad option because I'm just wasting a bunch of your time so and I tried thesaurus excuses I don't understand the school teacher problem VI something r i could like do a um Scrabble Word Finder like a a word on Scrambler and put in v r a l with a blank and see what we get so I'm going to try that I guess and see if my theory is correct that it's a VI something so I'll use the Scrabble Word Finder site usually let's see so we've got VI something R Rivals but that doesn't make sense uh it's going to be a one two three sixlet word so the only sixlet word is Rivals and that's scrambled so it it that can't be right so what am I what am I messing up with that AAL no that doesn't make sense so what if I fill in blank blank ha a v i blank r a l um it only gave me two blanks out of that arch rival um archival no I don't think this is a good option what are some sixlet words that show up starting with v no that's not going to work arrivals right see that does none of that makes sense okay which one's going to help the most I I I just I need to know what this is like problems of school teacher might deal with I'm just going to look up the answer to that one behavioral it was a single word
