Max Strus Proud Of Cavs' Response At Home To Orlando In Game 5: 'Everybody Just Did A Good Job'

Bally um had a lot of guys Step Up um that was a fun team win um and a great M atmosphere and um was a good tough battle for us and I'm glad we came out on top what made it a fun win everything um we had a lot of ups and downs we had to battle adversity um you know we had guys step up that haven't been playing Marcus Morris sorry you don't know his nickname but Marcus Morris was awesome um Isaac was great starting um everybody just did a good job um and we made plays when it mattered and we got stops when it mattered so um Evan with a huge block EV was great all night just had a lot of guys step up and and play well and um help us get that uh you know team W Darius told me after this game that these are the moments these are the games that that you find the moments that you love how much energy did you have to exert out there to play the way you did tonight I'll be all right I'm ready for the next one but yeah I love these moments um feel like our back's against the wall um whatever it takes to get one and I think we all did a good job of that and understanding the importance of this game and um you know it was fun to do that with these guys Evan has talked about being a guy that can step up to make winning plays talk about a winning play with the block to basically super a game huge huge um we all are comfortable enough with you know guarding the ball so high cuz we know we got him behind us so um having a big like that helps you so much and helps your defense and um just being an elite shock blocker and uh having Elite length in the paint is is very helpful very key to our defense you mentioned team and fun I mean what do you think that says about this whole this group as a whole yeah I mean we've look we've had a pretty bad game three and four um and we didn't hang our heads you know we we took it on the chin and and and answered tonight so I'm proud of the way we responded um proud of the resilience we've showed to to come back and and get this one um but now you know the toughest one we got to get the next one um and try to do it on the road did something feel different for you guys late in the game what do you mean something in terms of crunch time close game competitive keeping your poos like that I mean I think we've been good in close games all year um just battled guys just battled U guys answered the bill um guys were put in tough situations and came up and answered um can't ask for much more than that you were somebody who had to guard frond a lot throughout the course of this series can you just explain how difficult that assignment is and and what Evan had to do in order to succeed in that moment yeah he's a great player um Evan made a huge play um yeah I mean got another one next game and just got to keep making it tough on these guys and you know they're a talented team those are talented players and um just got to do whatever you can to make it as tough as possible on them why do you feel like you guys are so well suited playing faster um I don't know just do just feel comfortable doing it what what did Evan show I know he wasn't the only one who had to step up with that Jared but what did he show you tonight with that Jared and the way he's able to perform nothing different than he's not showing us all year I mean evans's been great all year um Evan's been phenomenal so uh Evan steps up when we need him the most Evan has shown that he's willing to step up in big moments and he did again tonight so um you know losing ja was tough um and I don't know how long he's going to be out but uh we have guys that are willing to step up and I think we we showed that our depth tonight was is can help us can Max can a win like this do wonders for you guys going on the road and yeah I mean you would hope um you would hope and obviously there's still some things we could do better um there's still some things we can do better defensively and offensively so um you know I like where we're at and you know we should all have the confidence going into the next game and um put on our best effort in Orlando Dar darus mentioned that everyone's been yelling at him to sh be aggressive more often when he's not being as aggress as you guys want him to be why do you think that is you have to ask him he was great uh I think darus has been really good um one of the most talented point guards in in the NBA and um you know he showed that tonight and um you know he he leads us you know he leads us with the offense and we all follow him when did you find out that Jared wasn't going to play uh before the game thanks Max
