Tire Explosion At Delta TechOps Kills 2, Hurts 1

hey everybody ail tillay here back at it again with another video in Atlanta a tragic incident happened at a Delta Tech Ops mechanic shop where two people were killed and one was injured because of a tire explosion it's a sad situation I was once a mechanic I worked for Mercedes-Benz and General Motors and I understand how dangerous tires can be so without further Ado let's get to the video Welcome back here on live now from Fox we did want to take you out to some breaking news here right now you're getting a live look in the Atlanta airport after two Delta Employees were killed and another person was injured during an incident at a Delta Tech Ops on Tuesday Morning Delta Tech Ops is responsible for the airline maintenance and repair we do have a statement from Delta here that we are going to read out for you it says the Delta family is heartbroken at the loss of two team members and the injury of another following an incident this morning at the Atlanta Technical operations maintenance facility we have extended our full support to family members and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time the Delta family is grateful for the quick action of First Responders and Medical Teams on site we are now working with local authorities and conducting a full investigation to determine what happened this this is coming from Fox 5 Atlanta our partners sources told them that a tire exploded while it was being removed from a plane according to heartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport the operations at the airport have not been impacted again this is a we will bring you more as we learn it for right now though we did want to Pivot back here to some the just said I wanted to bring this to you guys because for me I was a former mechanic I went to school I went to high school Automotive high in Brooklyn and I was going to become a technician in one stage in my life and I worked for mercedesbenz shout out to Mercedes-Benz and I work for General Motors shout out to General Motors and I learned a lot and messing with Tires Tires is very very dangerous very dangerous you see a lot of videos online where you see tires that explode and they'll flip a person or person standing on the tire messing with it and boom ah tires hold a lot of pressure a regular car tire holds between I think between 30 pounds of pressure and probably up to even 50 pounds of pressure uh and uh PSI which stands for pounds per square inch so if that tire explodes it can seriously hurt somebody so imagine a plane Tire where it's holding a holy now I'm not very sure how much pressure a plane Tire can hold but I think maybe it's up to like 200 PSI that is humongous that is a bomb that is the amount of pressure like almost the amount close to like a bomb so dang man it's just sad yo sad my heart goes to that family man you going to work you doing your thing you working trying to take care of yourself trying to take care of your family and like that you're going damn damn man it hurt me because when I saw it I was like damn man I used to be a mechanic man it hurt man it hurt some of these news feeds be be hitting close to home man be hurting your boy man I be like damn it's just it's just wild man my condolences goes out to the two who sadly passed away my condolences goes out to their families I know they going through it man going through it one day dad is home next thing you know that ain't coming back damn now I'm not sure if it's if it's just men if the two who were killed were men or if it was a man and a woman or a woman woman I'm not sure but just B off the type of job I'm assuming that they were men and it's just it's just sad man so sad so sad and we have to really really understand that we you never know when is our last moment tell your family members that you love them tell that you care about them tell that you're doing things for them CU you never know when might be the last time you see them I know those workers didn't think about that I know those workers didn't think that that freak accident would happen and I said if it's a tire explosion some type of protocol might have been missed or something like that maybe the air the air pressure wasn't let out of the tires before working on the tire but damn man that's ah man that hurts man it hurts hurt your boy man hurt your boy I ain't going to lie I should have 10 when I saw when I saw a little bit of it I had to stop I was like I gotta bring it to you guys but I shed a tear because I was like damn man it's messed up man as a former mechanic I understand anything can happen out here man trying to do what you got to do for your kids for yourself for your family it's just hard out here guys please be safe do what you got to do we're doing in a safe way understand protocol follow you know steps so that things like this don't happen I know that Delta is possibly going to have retraining and like that to make sure that you guys understand do what needs to be done shout out to my Delta workers shout out to all the airline workers that do what they need to do Airline mechanics that make sure that those planes are up and running so that people like me
