did I didn't try but I got tackled into Christian sitting right here with you like I cried KY you sck is here mcaffry as here as we're live at the 49ers training camp so that's how we're starting yeah great this just CU Kyle said CU that broke your streak did you ever think about not scoring on that play no way right you want him to Christian people don't forget juice see you still hold I don't forget to you I will say at the end we we we had one more drive and all the starters were out and I volunteered to go back out there and try and help Christian get in there again by the way I would have been upset if juice did not score on just so we're clear yeah cuz you're a good teammate let's start with you Kyle how's how's Camp so far I know you guys both had a vet day but just in general how's things in general it's been really good I feel like The Vibes been really high um feel like everyone you know has kind of been in a good mood uh and part of that was you know today was the first day we put pads on it's the first time you can really be critical on yourselves you know when you don't have pads on there's a lot of a lot of easy excuses you can make I I would have done this differently whatever so um I'm sure meetings will take on a different tone today and Kyle told you over the weekend today was your first vet that day in your career in the NFL what you do first one uh I got a little workout in uh did some Tempo runs nothing too crazy but just try to stay fresh for tomorrow and you had a vet day as well Christian and you've had a couple here and there do Bobby tell you when you're going to take the day off Bobby Turner because you're a hard guy to pull off the field how does that go down yeah I think it's just a um you know kind of a group decision from from the top down on on what the schedule is have the talk before Camp starts and uh you know I kind of know what days are my off days what days are my on days and just go from there just offensively uh Brock pie and and you you and I have talked about this every single year I think that we've been down here is you know they throw Camp stats out and all this kind of stuff but he went five of 12 three interceptions they say but explain what early Camp is like especially when you throw the pads on what are you trying to work on yeah I think it always needs to be reminded to everyone that these plays that they're installed like this is day six installed no matter what and we're running these plays against whatever defense they bring out there we're not game planning anything um and that's completely backwards from what would happen in season so you it's it's really hard to just look at the the raw stats and be able to draw something from that congratulations Christian three times over I guess so you got a lot going on contract extension cover and Madden got married you were at the wedding how was the how was the wedding did the boys all behave when they were there absolutely no it was amazing man it was it was such a such a fun time such a great weekend I think uh anytime you can get all your loved ones in one place to to celebrate something good it's it's special yeah it we had an absolute blast and I uh imagine too much fun but uh I I really do I always say weddings um it's a reflection of the couple that's getting married on just how fun they are and I think it's a reflection on on Christian Olivia just how much we all love them and what awesome people they are to what an incredible time everybody had there all right thanks man we were we were wondering before you guys came in who was the best dancer and who was the absolute worst dancer among 49 personel and you know who was Elaine from Seinfeld who was the worst that's going to be rough I don't know I don't I don't think I have that answer I think I think at one point in the night I looked on the dance floor and there was like 35 of the sweatiest gr seen in having a blast so fun man how was the head coach dancing was he good you know what I don't remember seeing yeah he doesn't seem like a dancer right no he I mean he likes to claim that he can he can do some old like '90s rap break dancing mov and sort of stuff I don't know I didn't see him that night but I didn't see him I didn't see him that was that wasn't the focus of the probably and then to cover him Madden in all seriousness I mean Niner Garrison Hurst way back when what a huge honor for a 49er was that mean to you huge honor man yeah I mean that's something I never really thought would would happen in in my career I don't I don't know why but um no it it meant the world to me man I remember me and my brothers used to play Madden 2001 on the N Nintendo 64 and uh you know that game just means a lot to my family and my brother so you know it's a it's a huge honor and uh Testament to my teammates man on on on a good year and hopefully we can do it again we're live at training camp juice and CMC here it's popping lond here on the sports theater mad rtings are a huge deal like the top 10 receivers came out and I think iuk was like a 91 or something like that like why is that such a big deal amongst you guys that what I'm like you have to be a are you 99 you're on the cover cover you 9 last year I would hope you gota be um no I think Madden ratings are are so are they mean so much in the same way that like who the best pingpong player on the team means a lot it's like it's just something to compete at therefore it means a lot and it's something who is the best pingpong player on the team look I love I would I would love to you are I would love to say me and then uh then Trent Taylor I was going to say I'd love to see you that would be the premier match up we played we played at uh at a tournament and he beat me oh he's Lefty and it messed me up he's Lefty oh yeah got the spin on the ball kind of spin he can play very but yeah I think like Madden ratings it's just like if anybody who grew up with brothers or anybody who just had a group of friends our age like throughout middle school and high school that's what you did like you played Madden you played ping pong and you competed and so like that's why those ra ings like just mean so much to us like dud you guys actually play in the locker you're you're a gamer now aren't you Christian you play I wouldn't Define myself as a gamer I mean i' I've played video games yeah I don't know if I'm a gamer you know I I have a game yeah I wouldn't call myself a what's your Madden rating you the highest rated fullback in I would hope so um you're the highest paid One Forever um I'm actually I'm not too sure what my rating is this year I think I was like a 88 or something last year I'm not sure not bad for got to break to 90 I I know I broke 91 so I was a 91 my first year here but you know you can't control that stuff um last year I hate to bring it up but just a lot of the talking point is the first year uh you were here you were not here yet you lose that it's like okay we'll be back we're young we're going and now you get into last year and I was in the exact same position looking at the field going my God this feels the same so I can't imagine what what it felt like for you guys is it easy to get over that to new training camp you hit the reset button and you go is that easy I don't think it's easy no I think um but you know just it takes What It Takes I think you know whether you win or lose that game this is a whole new year and each season presents new challenges and and you know new things that you have to take care of and so um no it's not easy but it's something that you have to move on because it's better than the alternative and right now I think our guys are completely focused on this year one day at a time one practice at a time and just going about it like that yeah there's no question um one of the narratives that I hate to hear about us as a team is that oh the Niners can't win the big game cuz you know we lost in two Super Bowls which it it's just crazy if if you know anything about football you you realize how many big games we did win in order to put ourselves in those positions I mean uh what was in in 22 we started like three and five and had to win 12 games in a row those were big games and winning in the NFC Championship when you're down 17 and halftime that was winning a really big game um so I just hate to hear that narrative um but you know we do know you know if we get our chance again in the Super Bowl we just got to we just got to finish the job you are the longest tenure 49er by a couple of months over over George KD and when Brandon signs and Trent gets in Camp you're going to have all the pieces back on offense just over the years juice how have you seen this offense evolve um especially going with Brock pry a quarterback and bringing this guy into play halfback yeah no I think um you know each and every year you find what works for that Personnel the Personnel that you have on your team and and you structure your offense around that and you find you know what are the pieces that we could add to this thing to really throw the gas on the fire what's it really going to take it to the next level and Christian was a great example of that like you know how how could we take this offense to the next level let's bring in the best freaking running back in the NFL guy who can do everything catch passes block run the ball inside outside all that type of stuff and I I think we've kind of done that position by position is just bringing guys that all right we were good here but let's be great and I I think we it's just been eight years of adding to that yeah Kyle Y is here Christian mcaffry is here as we're live from training camp we'll be here tomorrow today tomorrow the morning show we'll be back on Wednesday you got a Brandon auk 11 hat on the offense is not complete without without Brandon auk so I don't want to get into the contractual side but just how much do you need them how much do you need Trent Williams yeah I mean those are two of the best players at their position around around the league and so you need good players and uh so you know we're hopeful that we get those guys back here uh sooner than later um but we understand you know this is a business there are things you need to work out um but I think at the end of the day and just speaking for everybody I think we're all just hopeful you know that we get them back here perennial pro bowler you are when you guys huddle up though you got the best halfback in football you got the best fullback in football you got the tight end George KD you got the X and the Z I mean the five eligibles when you get in that huddle uh Christian and obviously Brock is Brock and you got Trent in the offensive line I mean you look around in that huddle do you ever think wow we are just over owering good at the eligibles I think yeah I mean that's that's well said I think uh for me when I first got him I realized how confident your teammates can make you and that's why football is such a special sport I think when you look around our huddle I have so much confidence in the guys around me therefore I can have confidence in myself and go out there and be me and I think that's um you know you're only as good as the guys around you and then and then after that it's up to you to you know do your job and then go above and beyond when when you can and so um we have a great team you know I think it's just about uh keeping the mentality which is what we do of taking it one snap at a time one day at a time we know what we can do but we know what it takes to to be able to you know put yourself in a position to do it and um takes a lot of work and I think that's what's so cool about our team is we have such a good team but guys work really hard how about with you like I I can remember many of times where like you're running down the sideline going they forgot about first play of the game they drop you you you ever say like to hey man I'm on this team and I'm I'm open man nobody's covered me every Dublin mcaffrey right right yeah no I mean obviously when I'm open yeah I do want the ball wide open you're not like a regular receiver where they're always open right right but I I am totally understanding of you know the talent that we have on this team and I think it was so well said with Christian um was saying there is just the confidence it gives you when you walk into the Huddle and you you know you look around you're like damn he's really good he's well that guy's really fre I guess well I guess I gotta be good you know what I mean so it it it UPS your game and uh it pushes you to do your best people forget you were talking about that long winning streak you know it started with Jimmy Garoppolo the quarterback and then Jimmy got hurt but a word about about Brock because he has to walk into that huddle and stare you guys in the eyes a Galaxy Superstars then you got a you know Hall of Famer first pallot at left tackle and Trent when he walks in the huddle uh just the the look in his eye from the first game against Miami Christian what did you see from Brock and and what are you seeing as time develops from him man I saw a stone cold killer I think he he showed up and and showed up to play I think he was confident um he was prepared and uh he was Brock and I you I haven't seen anything different that's what's been so cool about his growth is uh he's one of the best players in the National Football League and he approaches every day like it's the most important day every meeting every practice everything he does do he's extremely critical on himself obviously he has you know I think everyone always talks about you know he's the last pick of the draft and and I get that but I think people forget he's one of the best players in the NFL and was an MVP candidate last year and and you know where you were drafted means nothing it's about what you do when you get the opportunity and he sees the day and um is where he is now and I also think it's a huge Testament and there's a lot of unsung heroes in football um huge Testament to to coach greasy to Kyle to the whole staff for preparing each guy to go out there and win games that's a really difficult thing to do and when you can you know come into a game after the starter gets hurt the second string guy gets hurt and then you come in and the offense you know continues to have success that's a that's a testament to a lot of different guys so uh it was cool to be a part of that juson CMC with us says we're at 49ers camp we've heard too that in the Huddle it's kind of like he's he's all serious and everything like and you see like this a Shucks guy in these commercials and everything but he's different his demeanor is different the Huddle isn't it yeah no question I mean Brock in general he's a serious guy he understands that um there's a lot of weight on his shoulders I mean he's carrying the weight of this entire organization this entire city and like we talked about earlier he's got all these great players around him that are expecting him to perform and so he take he doesn't take that lightly and um it's something I respect about Brock because he is always dialed in he is always ready to work and like Christian said like when people are asking like you know how how has he changed from that first game in Miami yeah he's he's gotten he's gotten better in you know all aspects but he really is kind of the same guy uh he's been the same guy since he's been here and I think that's something that we all respect just popping up on our TVs more with the commercials what kind of acting ability Colton is that you actually one of my that one of my favorite commercial incredible you like him is I think he's good yeah theit or birdie both of them that was great I'm for it unbelievable that's awesome man hey thanks for stopping by have a great
