POSTGAME PRESSER: Ole Miss LB Chris Pooh Paul Jr on 76-0 win over Furman

fans just finally getting this game under y'all's belt and everything yall put in just your initial assessment of where you think this defense can go and that that you kind of gotten this this one out of the way and played against somebody else uh I feel like we can be a pretty good defense uh just the model of coach Golden man just take it one week at a time get 1% better each and every week and I feel like we're going to thrive this season as long as we just keep working together and keep each other on track poo obviously you don't get the start um you come in the second half and have an awesome game um what kind of me mentally how did you kind of stay engaged obviously I'm sure you want to start the game what what was your mindset um I guess making the best of of the snaps that you got just um continue to bring the energy for those guys man there's there's no reason to sit back and just you know PR about anything man it's a blessing to be here like I always say it's a blessing to watch those guys work like I said those guys have put in major work and just trust in the coaching and things like that so my main my main thing was to just keep the NG up on the sidelines keep those guys engaged you know uh coach them up on things that I've seen on the field as well as take the coaching from uh the coach on the sideline and things like that so I was really excited to be out there really excited to get in front of those fans man and really excited to watch those boys work Chris in the back uh when we talked to Lane he said that he was proud of the way everybody on the team took the game seriously even though you're playing an FCS opponent just in your mind you know how do you go about you know attacking a game like this where you know you guys are probably going to dominate but there's always probably something that you know you know you're trying to take from the game anyway uh I think we take every game seriously I think we take every game as a big game you know you got to play every game as if it's your last and things like that cuz you never know when you can get another opportunity and things like that so you know just locking in and just playing to the standard that we've uphold ourselves to and things like that playing to the standards the coaches as well as the fans expectations and things like that so I feel like if we no matter what game it is you take it as your last and you go put everything on displ course there's a lot of transfers on the def defensive side of the ball as a collective you guys had a lot of big plays just from your perspective was it like having your first game here and just all you guys being together for the first time in an actual game electric and and you know in my previous Institute I played um oh miss here before and I could feel the energy from the fans it was kind of startling at times you know because you know when you we have such a good team who plays hard as well as have the crowd behind him throughout everything man it's kind of scary so once I got here I kind of had a feel of what I was going uh getting myself into and things like that but actually playing here and actually feeling that atmosphere and actually going out there to make a couple plays in front of the fans man it was electric was awesome and I can't wait to get out back out there next week you just mentioned it there talking about bringing the energy to the fans just this being your first game how much of a bummer was it not going to the Walker Champions because of the weather man it was a big bummer I was excited I had an outfit and everything already so you know when when the rain came I was kind of bummed I was like ah okay uh maybe next week we'll try again next week but man I'm come back and I'm ready to get down at Walker Champions next week so is this out going to be postponed the next week say it one more time is this outf going to be postponed the next week I got to come with some my teammates already seen it what's it like having two middle linebackers on the field when when you and daughter are together whether that's in practice or in tonight's game oh man it's fun it's fun to watch it's fun to be in there with that guy man cuz like I said TJ uh not only him but Kyrie Tyler Banks uh Raymond Collins you know players like that they've all really come together like I said we all come together and we've all you know just been on that one track upholding each other to the standard and things like that whether it that's getting extra walkthroughs and getting extra film and you know it's just things like that that help great uh that help rooms turn from good to great so you got to take things like that seriously each and every day just as little things in order before they become bigger things take care of the little things man that's how you become a great room thanks thank y'all
