let's go straight to Democratic senator Corey Booker from my home state of New Jersey he is a member of the Harris campaign's National Advisory Board served alongside Harris in the Senate they ran against each other in the 2020 Democratic primary Senator Booker sits on the foreign relations and Judiciary committees very important positions obviously Senator thank you very much for being with us today it's great to have two Jersey people together on thank you very much good to see you sir um so do those stances that you heard in the introduction on lowering funding for ice on even funding transgender uh surgery gender surgery for people who have come into the country illegally or for prisoners do those stances seem too extreme to you and for the American people well look I've served with KL as you said and let me just tell you in the Senate she was a pragmatist and one of the things I really admired about her the most was her willingness to cross the the aisle and look for you know pragmatic uh part bipartisanship and solutions and so this is somebody that I know will find ways to get things done any issue in the United States whether it's immigration or jobs or investment in education has to come through negotiation and she's somebody that's going to make sure that we as a country stop this awful really toxic kind of tribalism and get back to the middle and govern in a way where we can bring people together to do big things as a country so so is she going to explain tonight she all she said on this matter and is that her values haven't changed um but clearly her take on the issues has changed very dramatically she's now saying she's for the Border bill which includes finishing the border wall is she for finishing the border wall well I'll tell you what that bipartisan Coalition that came together uh from the most conservative Senator Senator Lanford all the way to a blue State uh Democrat and Chris Murphy was a compromise that would have gotten across the Finish Line If it wasn't stopped by Donald Trump for overtly political reasons he said it very plainly again this is not about winning right or left this is about solving problems and here you had both sides coming together coming up with a bill again that a lot of people had things they were dissatisfied but knew it would solve the problems she endorsed it Donald Trump sabotaged it yeah I I think it's a fair it's a fair criticism and and we should hear more about it tonight but I guess the question is as a member uh as the Top member of the Harris Biden the Biden Harris White House um they then signed an executive order in June so if she was so frustrated about what was happening at the border and the 8 million people that crossed under this Administration why didn't she she had his ear particularly On the Border issue Senator why didn't she push this a long time ago before cities and schools and hospitals got overrun with millions of people who crossed the border well again I I think it's extraordinary that we saw bipartisan deal come together and get sabotaged but I really respect the Biden and Harris Administration for them moving on an executive order that if you look the last five months at our border we're having record low Crossings but why didn't they do it years ago is my question I mean that obviously was a failure in Congress for sure and I I understand your point on that but but she had the power to influence the president on this issue and and wasn't successful if she even tried again I'm I'm proud that the Biden Harris team has done bold action that has produced results now uh I think a lot of people were looking to Congress that ultimately have to fix this problem and I'm glad that you said it you said it right we have a problem in our country right now with this Fierce uh extraordinary tribalism both sides tearing each other down not doing what Langford and Murphy and many of us have shown the ability to do which is find space in the middle I know when Harris was here that that's what she did I know that's the kind of President she will be if a bipartison bill comes out to deal with these border problems she won't rip it down like Trump did uh I know she will endorse it and I'm happy that she endorsed the world Democrats have been in power for 12 of the last 16 years and we we have not seen um success on that front and presidents have had to put their own measures in place in order to deal with it I I just want to um quickly squeeze in another question for you if not two actually um she said that her values have stayed the same you say that that the two of you are very close are we going to learn tonight how she got from these more extreme takes which she was very clear about when she ran for president to where she is now is she going to take us on that Journey so people can understand how she got to the Middle look I again I'm glad that people continue to learn and grow uh JD Vance had extreme views about Donald Trump literally putting him in the same sentence as Adolf Hitler when he began and he evolved as well we have to stop in my opinion again with talking about how people grow and really talk about where people are K Harris is going to come out tonight with an extraordinary vision for our country about bringing us together to tackle the housing crisis bringing us together to get back Reproductive Rights and reproductive freedom and she's going to give a vision about how we continue to low cost build on the Biden progress of lowering costs of things like prescription drug costs lowering costs of the way that Banks and Airlines have been picking away at us that now they can't do thanks to some of the good work it's about time we focus on the issues today and I'm proud that she continues to evolve as a leader well we look forward to seeing her tonight and hearing from both of the candidates tonight do you think they should do another debate and you know it's great to have so many of her supporters with us in the past week or so do you recommend that she come to Fox because we have 28% independent uh viewers and it would be a great opportunity for her to speak to the audience like you are I hope more Democrats do I I've been absence from Fox for too many months now I'm happy to be on here and I hope that you will invite me back because I'd be happy to come back we've invited many times so very happy that you accepted I I appreciate you being here you think there should be another debate people should get the opportunity for more debates I I'm a guy that thinks it would be good but I I understand I had only won for my Senate campaign uh this is going to be a narrow election and I know both both C candidates are going to be out there working uh whether there's another debate or not I think the two of them have to come together and make that decision well we hope there'll be uh lots of opportunities to interview her um and uh do town halls or debates or whatever it is we got a tight window here for everyone to get to know uh everybody um and vote so we look forward to that Senator Booker thank you very much it's good really grateful for you having me on well I appreciate it thank you for being here sir
