hey Billy we're in good company tonight here in Nashville Luke Laney Cary and Trace we're honoring American Icon Toby [Music] ke 20 number one hits 44 million albums sold do Toby was a roof raising flag waving country music legend who sadly passed away from stomach cancer earlier this year you know he was such a big towering figure red Solo I fill you up let's have ay country music's biggest stars are raising a Red Solo Cup tonight to Toby's Life and Legacy with a special tribute concert we've got your sneak peek we all here for reason this incredible man Carrie Underwood had the crowd singing along to Toby's [Music] hit jelly roll brought Toby's Widow Trisha to with his touching version of my list and Toby's daughter Crystal did her dad proud with don't let the old man in don't let the old the fact that you know Toby's not in the room is still um still hard to wrap your brain around tell me about your performance tonight what do you think it'll be uh should have been a cowboy should have been a cow when I found out it was still available you know that other artists hadn't uh I was like oh my God I got to do that because have been singing that song my whole life country music Queen lady Wilson's been singing Toby's songs her whole life too he was not scared to think outside of the box to stand up for what he believed in I brought to you [Music] courtesy country singer Trace Atkins was one of Toby's close friends what did he mean to you personally and professionally well it professionally it was you know Toby gave me that Mark to always shoot for and you know I never got to the level that he got to but it was a good Mark to shoot at and personally you know God just the laughs that we shared and times we spent together on stage and off stage it was just uh uh an honor to be able to say he was my friend and and uh he was a good man [Music]
