Joseph DeLucia killed 3 siblings, niece in Syosset murder-suicide, police say

the entire family is now gone five people were shot and killed in a murder suicide at this home in the culdesac on Wyoming Court in sasid Sunday morning police say the gunman 59-year-old Joseph delusa Jr killed his niece and three siblings days after the family's matriarch died and the family was planning to sell the house police say the thought of having to move from the only home he's lived in angered Joseph because of that perception he decided that day to get a loaded mberg shotgun 12 gauge approached them in the rear area of the house and from the kitchen fired 12 shots striking all four of them multiple times police say Joseph then went to the front lawn shouted incoherently before shooting himself in the chest 41 years that is probably one of the most horrific scenes I've ever seen police say the victims were Joseph's sister 69-year-old Joanne Kars of Tampa Florida 63-year-old brother Frank DeLucia of Durham North Carolina and 64 4-year-old sister Tina Hammond and her daughter 30-year-old Victoria Hammond both of East Pat hog just upbeat bubbly Mar and Powell says Tina and Victoria rented an apartment in her home in East Pat hog Powell says she's horrified to hear about the murders it's terrible it's terrible nobody should have a I just don't know which one went first and who had to see what that's all I'm thinking Tina worked as a cashier here at the meat farms in Bohemia for the past year and a half the last time she was here was Saturday the day before she was killed her co-workers are heartbroken she made a lot of friends as customers would come in um she helped train half the kids that are working here and like I said she's was part of our family she'll be missed terribly police say neighbors heard Joseph make ominous comments prior to the murder suicide neighbors have reported that he has made statements in the past that if you hear gunshots don't bother calling 911 it's going to be too late police say this this case highlights the importance of if you see or hear something say something let us look into it let us we're not you know we're here to help friends and neighbors are now praying for the extended members of the Delia family my heart goes out to them I'm so so so sorry for news day TV I'm Virginia Huey
