[Applause] [Music] [Applause] I'm Brad nestler joined by the coach Lee Corso and the quarterback her curb Street no complaints about the weather tonight as we see nothing but stars in this contest between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the rebels of O Miss just getting underway in this college football season and we've got a great game for you but Alabama is led by their running back now I had a chance to talk to them about this game and believe me he is ready to run all over this defense coach I expect him to have a big game on the ground you're absolutely right I'm taking hammer r TI they'll set up shot at the 29 yd line 29 y first and they work from the shotgun they'll throw on first down he's looking he's looking deep down the left side incomplete and he overthrew his wide receiver I don't know too many seven foot guys playing football so maybe he should aim lower the next time so it's second and 10 ball in the 29 y the tide come out in the shotgun back to pass looks and he's hit as he throws and he's finally knocked out of Bounds at the 42 now that was a goodlooking play the quarterback put it where his receiver could get it and now they have a first down what I like is the faith that this quarterback has in his receiver he's not afraid to throw it downfield number four comes to the line with three wide drops back to pass he Jes he decides to run with it and they make the stop he got three yds there on the scramble it's second down and seven to go ball on the 39 y Alabama sets up with four receivers he drops back he steps up looking got hit as he threw he's going to come out it looks like he was hurt on that last play well it doesn't look like it's too serious guys but you never know sometimes those small injuries turn into season ending ones third and seven coming up here this is the fifth play of this drive number four is the impact player and he's feeling it right now back to pass steps up he's looking lets it Go Holden DRS the ball the receiver had the ball right in his sights but he couldn't gather it in unreal did I just see that did he just drop a touchdown or what they come out in a nickel the kick is up and it's wide left no good down there on the field at linebacker we've got one special player he's the heart and soul of this defense and the going to need him today more than ever as they go up against a very talented running back if there's anyone who can bring the wood to this running back then it's got to be this linebacker that's right he's a tough one there should be some really good collisions in this game it's second down and six to go ball on the 43 yd line oh miss lines up in a shotgun [Applause] set wants to throw outside it's def collected you got to be careful throwing in the coverage like that well coach I don't think it was a poor decision it was just a great reaction by the man in coverage thir third and six ball on the 43 on the 43 yd Line 6 DBS in the lineup drops back to pass steps up in the pock he's going left into traffic and it's picked off bubbles the ball jamee brings him down for a loss wow very close to turnning it over but they'll keep possession of the football way to play heads up out there that's just one more reason to play to the whistle it's first and 10 ball on their own 42 number 12 lines up in the shotgun they'll throw on first down he steps up throws this one out to the left and it's incomplete he let his wide receiver too far to the outside yeah he just had to pull the string a little bit more there so it's second and 10 ball in the 42 yd number 12 with three wide receivers he drops back steps up over the middle tackled that's a good nyd gain 9yd gain on the play Third and one ball in the 49 49 yd line Old Miss in a four wide set on the ground with a tail back Turner with a taked down that line came off the ball it just kept their feet moving and knocked them back good blocks and great running by the ball carrier also it's first and 10 ball on the 45 45 [Applause] yd nice play fake looks steps up in the pocket he's going left that's a gain of eight on the reception gain of eight on the play second and two coming up here and this is the fifth play of the current Drive Old Miss goes with the ace set here there's a play fake looking wants to go long and does and he's shoved on a bound and the tight end couldn't manage to stay in bounds that time yeah the tight end caught the ball but not before he stepped out of bounds good call there by the refs the defense will try to stop this third down as they were unsuccessful the first time on this drive the rebels come to the line with their jumbo package they'll Run for the First on Third and short and he's taken down well kerk managed to get enough there to move the chain yep that's a great effort there by the running back to be able to get the ball up field and pick up another valuable first [Applause] down it's first and 10 and this is the seventh play of the current Drive the rebel come out the shotgun and he's tackled that looks like a one yd gain one yd gain on the [Applause] play second and nine coming up here this is the eightth play of this drive number 12 has four receivers lined up here back to pass he steps up he'll dump this one off got it to the senior he looks to be down there and so we've reached the end of quarter number one and we're all tied [Music] [Applause] up thir they line up for another third down and they've had no problem converting their first two they'll work from the shot [Applause] and the snap goes to the back a little Juke can't WRA him up he has some room tackle that was a pretty good run incredible effort there running the football by this guy [Music] if anyone can force a turnover right now then it's the man at linebacker touchdown Old Miss so he uses his legs to find the end zone this guy is a fiery competitor and his hardn attitude is what really gets his teammates ring behind him and he hits the Pat this drive fields at the goal line tries to shoot their kicker missed the field goal attempt the last time this offense had it let's see what happens this time around yeah and that poor kicker has to wait on the sideline and hope she gets the chance to redeem yourself after that last Miss first and 10 the tide line up with three wide he drops back throw and it falls incomplete he had it knocked loose before he could control it just a great play Here by The Defender to force the issue it's second down and 10 to go ball on the 22 yd line number four comes to the line with three wide here's a counter play he Jes it and they make the stop so the old counter gets two maybe three yards third and seven coming up here ball on their own 25 Alabama lines up with three receivers they go with the option he fakes a pitch he got nothing on that play the defense is really digging in now you [Applause] guys 11 21 yd they line up to putt this one away they get this one off and it's a beauty Evans calls for the fair Catch and they make the fair catch at the 32 they're ready to start another Drive hoping to duplicate the results of the last one which ended in a touchdown they'll start this drive at the 32 yd line on the 32 yd line the rebels come out showing three wide they'll throw on first down he's rolling right here's the long ball left side this will be a tough catch he comes down with it move those sticks that's a first down and a great catch too did you see how he looked that one in oh there's no doubt about it he can catch the football and since we're in the Red Zone let's have a look at field play action throws this one out to the right and that one's Fallen incomplete way to keep your head on a swivel kid that was a nice job of locating the football and knocking it down to prevent the completion sure was coach he put himself in great position to make a play second and 10 ball on their own 15 number four is in the zone and looking to make a play back to pass he's looking with the throw and it's the senior and tackled I like the defense that was called they just didn't make the play on the ball you're right it wasn't necessarily bad defense the offense just executed and the result is a first down it's first and 10 all on their own 27 they line up in the shotgun they'll throw on first down throws this one out to the right I know that pass was fired pretty hard but you still have to catch it that's right the only reason is out there is to catch the football so it's second and 10 ball on the 27 yd number four with three wide receivers drops back to pass wants to throw outside got it and he's tackled that was a big time play in a new set of down I think the defense might have been thinking run there coach well I don't blame him it's pretty common to see a run on first second down but this offense is keeping them guessing it's first and 10 and this is the fifth play of the current Drive they come out in a nickel they'll throw on first down he's going left the senior makes the catch nice decision by the quarterback Not only was it good decisionmaking but the offensive line protected just long enough for him to his Target and when you combine the two it'll be a first down nine out of 10 times Alabama goes with the ace set here they go with the option they'll bring him down Alabama takes a time out second and six this is a seventh play of this drive they'll work from the shotgun they keep it on the ground with a tail back tackle a two- yd run by the halfback gain of two on the play Alabama calls a [Applause] [Music] timeout it's third down and four to go ball in the 28 don't be surprised to see this defensive end wreak havoc back there brought down they won't get the first because of a great defensive effort this defense just really stepped up number 37 comes in to kick the field goal and he's going to have to get a leg into this one he gets it up and it sails right on him no good they'll take over at the 26 yd line Y first and 10 they come out in a nickel Evans runs a counter he tries to spin more brings him down Old Miss takes a time out first and 10 ball in their own 38 Evan wants the ball we'll see if they give it to him they'll throw on first down and that'll do it for the first half of play our halftime score Old Miss seven Alabama nothing and the teams are lined up to start the second half sends it sailing downfield and it sails out of the end zone for a Touchback time once again for this offense to come back out to start another Drive the play maker on this defense is the linebacker but until he shows up they'll continue to play from behind yeah I was expecting to hear his name called a lot more on tackles in the first half me too Kirk all week we've heard how this kid flies to the ball and is in on every plane but we haven't seen that today it's a direct snap makes a move and they make the stop picked up big yards there and he's going to have a first down yeah nice job there this guy does a good job in reading his blocks and accelerating through the hle [Music] it's first and 10 ball on the 44 yd line oh miss comes to the line only one man in the back field play action rolls to the left he's under some heat and he's going to be sacked for a loss the senior at linebacker is making his presence felt yes he is he was all over the quarterback that time earlier in the weekly he talked to us about how he was the vocal leader of this defense but that time his action spoke louder than his words second and long coming up here B on their own 36 they'll work from the shotgun steps up comes across the middle complete and down he goes seven yds there the reception seven yd gain on the play third and 11 ball on the 43 yd line number eight back in the gun back to Pat looks throws it to the outside someone got a hand on it great range as he's able to break up the pass I know that the safety makes a good play here but as a receiver you got to get in there and play some defense he's lucky that one wasn't intercepted the rebel are lining up the punt it away number 92 punts it and it's a good one Ricks signals for a fair Catch and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback and now a slight break in the action as the offense comes out onto the field for their next possession they'll set up shot at the 25 yd line they line up in the shotgun nice play fake looking he's going right it's TI oh he had a shot at the pick looks like he tried to force that one defense was in a Zone there and the quarterback needs to do a better job of finding a passing window to throw through well that window must have been tinted because he almost threw a pick it's second down and 10 to go ball on their own 25 Alabama sets up with four receivers drops back to pass with the spin Johnson brings him down for a loss third down and 12 ball on the 23 yd line the tide set up in the gun back to pass steps up in the pocket he's looking over the middle and it's [Applause] intercepted what an interception by the cornerback I love it a defensive back with soft hands this kid can play [Applause] they'll go to work at the [Music] 37 Evan is in the zone and looking to make something happen looks across the middle and it's the tight end way to look it in nice kick sure was he displayed some great hands there now we're looking at a first down [Music] it's first and 10 ball on the [Music] [Applause] 24 oh miss lines up in a shotgun set they'll throw on first down throw and it's CAU brought down in the open field that's four yds on the play gain of four on the play second and six ball on the 20 yd line y Old Miss comes out with five receivers wants to get it out of the screen Heenan lays it on him loss of a yard one on the third and seven coming up here ball in the 21 the rebel come out in the shotgun he drops back looking throws this one out to the left and he catches it off the tip have a look at our Old Spice Red Zone numbers Red Zone when performance matters the most number eight lines up in the shotgun they'll throw again defense hasn't stopped him yet Looks To the End Zone my goodness guys that was a spectacular play by the wide receiver the coach has gone to Great Links to shepher his receivers and we've seen the results on the field and he hits the p8 just a few seconds remaining now in the third quarter and our score oh miss 14 Alabama nothing [Applause] [Music] Old Miss is ready to kick it away he kicks it number 10 felds it at the [Applause] three we'll have to see now how the offense responds this time after throwing a pick on their last Drive they'll get the ball here at the 16 yd line the tied line up with four wide outs it's a direct snap and now he's got room to run at the 40 young with a taked down tremendous run right there and coaches just love it when they can run the football like that it opens up so much more of your offense it's first and 10 ball right around Midfield the Crimson side come out in a bunch formation with the throw great concentration so it's complete but they didn't get much there and that's because the defense was just waiting on it and they attacked the quarterback should have found somebody else down field second and seven ball on the 49 yd line Y they'll bring in their dime package drops back to pass and he's going to be sacked the quarterback had nowhere to go and he's brought down for the second they've got to do a better job up front with their pass protection if they don't start picking up everybody then this quarterback is going to be pretty sore in the morning that's for sure Old Miss has a defense that when well it's just playing bad have a look at the numbers yeah you're being kind Brad they can't stop anybody you better start tackling better it's going to be another long day six DBS in the lineup throws to the middle throw brings him down wow a long gain but still not enough for the first well the offense hurt themselves by digging themselves into a hole on first and second down so the defense didn't really have to put too much thought in how to defend on that third down a backfield gets the ball oh they faked it he tosses it short complete Coleman with a taked down 45 makes the catch 9 yd gain on the play and this defensive end is looking to get into that back field second and 10 and this is the seventh play of the current Drive Alabama comes to the line with three wide back to Pat he throws a dart to the left got it to the senior that's a nice six- yd game gain of six on the play third down and four coming up on this one ball in the 29 the tie come out in the Ace formation little shake and bake move now he pitches it sheds a tackler and he's tackled and they were lucky that one didn't go for more no question and they were not ready for that option play they had guys running everywhere except to the ball Lee you're right they look like they've never defended the option before the tailback had a ton of Running Room [Applause] there the Crimson tied come out showing three wide drops back to pass wants to throw outside and a good completion that time gain of eight on the play let's see if they can take this one in for six they'll throw again defense hasn't stopped him yet incomplete the halfback tried to make the grab inbounds but he couldn't do it well his hands did their job but his feet pocked out early Alabama lines up for a shotgun sack he drops back he steps up he keeps it touchdown Alabama so the quarterback decided to improvise and took it in for the touchdown this is why this guy is such a special player this is what makes the offense even more difficult to stop when a quarterback can take it himself and run that's just one more weapon the defense has to account for and he TS on the extra point so with less than two to go in the fourth quarter the score is Old Miss 14 Alabama [Applause] [Applause] [Music] 7 and it looks like they're going to try an onside kick here here's the outside kick sheds that one their last Drive ended with a touchdown let's see what happens on this possession they'll take over at the 25 yd line first and 10 on the ground with the tail back yuku broke away from one they may not catch him at the 40 at the 30 to the 20 to the 10 goodbye that was a big run by the halfback what his kid makes the defense look silly they're grabbing at a bunch of air down there they got to hit somebody [Applause] and he hits the pat so with just over a minute to go here in the fourth quarter our score Old Miss 21 Alabama 7 [Music] [Applause] [Music] Old Miss ready to kick this one off and he got all of this one great kick rcks FS it in the end zone the offense comes out on the field once again and it'll be interesting to see if this defense has made any adjustments to stop this running game because they sure couldn't stop them from going down the field and scoring on that last Drive they'll set up shot at the 25 yd line number four with three wide receivers they'll throw on first down he's looking he might not be able to get the pass off excellent job of getting a hand in there to break up the pass it was coach that one had reception written all over it but the defender stepped up and made the play it's second down and 10 to go ball on their own 25 Alabama in a four wide set throws in a hurry and it's caught gets past to [Applause] tackler and he's still on his feet and they make the stop I like to say one thing the reason they were able to get something out of this play is the fact that the quarterback had time to get rid of the football good job up front by the offensive line and don't forget the nice play by the running back as well third down and a yard ball on the 34 yd line Alabama comes out in the shotgun Alabama calls a timeout and they've got two remaining third and one coming up on this play ball in their own 34 the tide set up in the gun third and short and they'll throw for it throws complete drop back four yds on that one the Crimson Tide line up with three receivers bunched back to pass steps up they didn't get it they went for it but they were denied well that was a situation where they had to go for it I agree they can't afford to let the other team hold on to the ball the time is ticking away they'll start this drive at the 27 y number eight with four wide receivers they keep it on the ground with a tail back he Jes brought
