YouTube channel you can also follow us on all of our social media programu with a Z on Facebook Twitter Instagram Tik Tok all of that good stuff you can also find us on Spotify Apple podcast Google podcast wherever you get your podcast that's where you can find us boys I'm fired up I'm trying to get through this intro because it's a freaking game week we got a preview pod game baby or the people Oklahoma against Tipple on a Friday for some ungodly reason Oklahoma is opening opening up their season against the temple Friday night light um I have some thoughts on it but we'll get to it in a little bit but guys it's it's an exciting week we there's like five different times I feel like that football's back and now is like the real one right like week Zero's like the last oh football's back until the real football's back and it's it's exciting I'm happy what a week zero and what a week zero ask for I mean the first game was the best game Georgia Tech taking out Florida State at the very end the way that they do Brent key team just showing a physicality up front that the number 10 seminal had no idea how to deal with that [ __ ] was beautiful but then even you go to throughout the day SMU somehow coming back in that game that was nuts that was insane um shout out to Nate Anderson shout out Still rocking 69 and now starting for SMU congrats on the win big dog love that for him not a great show though when you are the number one school with the highest donation amount in the last year because you have literally the richest alumni ever and you show you have a performance like that not great not great against Nevada so I would some respect on this classic ACC team yeah classic ACC teamu Mustangs no one has ran the ACC more so than SMU everyone knows that oh my God AC looking looking looking tough well I guess GE Tech is also ACC the richest team the richest team in ACC history right here okay that's what we're looking at and they're one to0 or they want to0 in our power rankings keep listening all right yeah it it was really fun for to watch that Georgia Tech game and and see them beat Force say like that mainly just because of Rich it's it's fun because of uh Mark Mark's dad rich is a big Georgia Tech fan and uh it's U fan as well let's call let's call it like it is but um he he likes Georgia Tech and I'm a guy who covered a few Georgia Tech games when I lived in Georgia it's a it's a cool spot man it's middle of downtown Atlanta like obviously they played in Dublin so it's not they're not in Atlanta but Georgia Tech's a fun school man they got a rich history whether you remember it or not if you're a younger person they don't have an his a history for you but if you're you know our age or a little bit older you remember Georgia Tech being a really good football team and a good football program so it's cool to see them get a win against a top 10 team like that um like a really good school like academically and like all that kind of stuff like very like well-renowned I'm glad my dad doesn't actually listen to the whole pod these days cuz that's the part he would be calling about yeah that's the thing you Florida State just really wanting to get out of the ACC because they just you know no competition other in Clemson right yeah that's a it's a bad Resume Builder if you're trying to if you're trying to Exit Stage right man and how uninspiring does dju look so oh no like it's not like he played terribly but he didn't do anything no he didn't well and I saw at one point he was his average yards per attempt was like negative point8 or or negative point4 at one point during the game like it just just bad just bad stuff stuff um or it was like average depth of Target I think is what it was um so it was that makes more sense CU he yeah yeah it was average depth of Target he was like throwing just screens and like drag routes and that's it um okay that's enough Florida state Georgia Tech talk boys we got a football game to get to for Oklahoma against Temple but first the news coming out of the day on Tuesday Oklahoma self-imposing sanctions against themselves uh for DeMarco Murray uh I don't know the correct verbiage to use uh recruiting violations recruiting violation recruiting violation there was like basically basically illicitly contacting uh it sounds like 17 recruits through text and phone calls during a period that he wasn't allowed to and so I they like the NCAA and OU together came up with some punishment yeah oh you found it like oh you found it in phone uh records and stuff like that and then self-imposed the violations essentially like withing with the NCAA and reported it so I mean this was all like no one found anything like we basically like gave it to them and said like this is what happened like we are taking uh responsibility for this and and you know no one knew about it and DeMarco was still able to go and get a great recruiting class it's a dangerous Mason Mason I gotta I gotta ask you um are you concerned that we'll be able to compete in the SEC if we knock on ourselves yeah that's soft I was just about to say you have a prime example of the bad that can happen when you self-report in state we all saw what happened to Oklahoma State basketball yeah like don't report on yourself make them find it look at Michigan Michigan still has nothing going on nothing yeah and they didn't self-report like just well well to to to an extent to an extent I I don't regardless no need to self-report and also and also does it really matter like if if we ended up getting the recruits we got and DeMarco Murray's got to set out a game because of it I call that a win against temple on a Friday night here's the other DeMarco specific uh uh pun ments 20% reduction in football recruiting days prohibition against uh football staff calling those specific prospects so that's not even a DeMarco thing they just couldn't call those 17 guys during a certain stretch of time DeMarco had to recruit about half as much as he did in the spring and he couldn't do offseason recruiting or off-campus recruiting during the 2023 fall evaluation period so all of this has already been like time sered more or and it was during the time in which we locked down Taylor Tatum that is that's impressive it's just impressive very impressive out ofar Murray it's crazy when I when I did first see this I was like wow this is this is kind of Rowdy um I felt like we needed to be in the SEC I was like yeah this this is an SEC school this is what we do and then I heard about the self-reporting and I was like soft I was like I don't think Alabama would self report like I don't I like I don't think LSU would self-report so I like we need to be a little you know I know like Integrity is important but we need to be able to compete so um but it didn't seem like it slowed him down at all so I think this is a big nothing Burger yeah I I don't think it I don't think it matters in the grand scheme of things like he's going to come back and again what the the game that he's serving I don't know if it's confirmed that it's the temple game I think it's just a one game is it confirmed different sources on it they're not appealing it they're a part of it gotcha okay so and then the and then the recruits can't come to the temple game we can't have any like unofficial visits but it's a Friday night game in Texas in Texas football opens on Friday like they their season opens there's some straty here I think there might have been some strategy around we why we move move this to a Friday night game in the first place like it's very possible we knew this was coming yeah and there was a second you know motivation behind moving this other than you know the prime time viewer viewing not being at 11:00 a.m. not being in the heat all of those things but like I I think it was definitely josc being like okay well we're gonna have to do one game without our recruits might as well put it on a Friday because they can't come anyway so yeah I 100% agree with that yeah the the Friday kick pisses me off but Ryan kind of convinced me why that makes a little more sense um yeah I'm not I'm not pissed off by the I I would rather take this than uh it's against Temple I would rather take this 11 a.m. this sucks for yeah I'm looking at Mark because he's going to the game this sucks for people who are going to the game and like have to like take off work and stuff like that like that's kind of annoying but um I'm G to sit on my couch and watch it so I I saw Barry traml of the tossal world tweet today uh asking OU fans to email him and tell him why they think that the that the ticket sales are so low for the temple game um because I guess they're having a hard time I can tell you why because these damn sccc tickets are so expensive that nobody has any money left to buy a Friday night ticket except I do think they'll be sold out by the time like we actually they're not they're not going to risk their streak that they got going absolutely not they'll give them away for free if they have to um but like I I you know we have so many good games this year at home and people are prioritizing what they go to this year I think a little bit more um but other than that I don't know it might be the Friday night thing yeah not sure I also saw and trying to find it right now some OU people refuting that from Barry TR saying actually it's it's closer than you think it is okay uh I'm trying to find a source on that but I'm sure that Stadium will be completely filled so oh yeah not worried about that they'll be fine um while Mark looks for that um a little uh thing that U's doing announcing a little fun I I guess you can call it better better game day environments or game game weekend environments they're doing something called Crimson Fridays on cus Corner uh and they're gonna it's like a concert series if I'm not mistaken yeah they they have like a concert series on campus corner like every Friday um and then it's like it'll be on I think it'll be like closing down like the streets of Campus corner I want to say I don't I don't know I don't quote me on that but I think they'll be like you know pep rallies music performances like making it more of like a fe festive like atmosphere um I think this is the right way the right direction to go I'm interested to see how this works for the first like season because I think it's going to take time for us to like establish something like this but we had talked earlier in the off season about like how SEC teams this is not just a game this is a weekend for people to go to these places and you know you don't just like the Alabama fans aren't just going to come in late Friday night and leave Saturday night they're going to come in during the day early Friday be there the entire weekend and leave on Sunday so we really need to amp up the atmosphere and the environment that we are able to provide so I think this is a right like moving in the right direction for it I'm interested to see how it shakes out um and see how successful it is the first year but I'm sure they're going to learn a lot as they go right Mark anything to add on Crimson Fridays you going to wear your Crimson on Fridays no I actually I don't love this um I think I like the idea of I mean I guess it depends on where you put it on campus corner right I don't know where they're going to put it but if I if I know the campus Corner area they're going to want to use it as a way to regulate some of that traffic and I don't love that I want that street to be overflowing the night before a game so I think that trying to put any sort of uh organized entertainment in that place is while it's well founded I don't think it's like the Practical right decision and I hope I'm proven wrong I just think for maximum rowdiness you you want to have people flowing a little bit more in and out uh turning up says to the thing earlier it says White Street saw oh it says it says where it is where it is White Street and ASP which is do you know where chewes used to be what is it now what is it now not chewy Sor Chim chimy thank you yeah yeah so that parking lot that that intersection right there kind of by the deli a little bit um by where I don't even know what that is that so they're going to put it in that parking lot that like CVS I think they're going to probably put it in that parking lot would be my guess I guess that kind of makes sense because we don't need that parking lot to be open for whatever it's open for no uh I don't think that I don't even know what's in that restaurant area now I don't I don't either so I I that's what I just yeah that's white and then as I bet it's going to be in that that parking lot where that hers Donuts used to be there didn't it mm be I don't know I don't know if it's still there I NOA I think that's where they're gonna that's where they're going to put it so good podcasting yeah this is great podcasting anyway I think I think if I was if I was trying to get ready for a game and I walked out of Lois and some shitty country music singer that I've never heard of is belting out a song over there I'm not going to enjoy that as much but it wasn't but it wasn't Rowdy Friday nights before games anyway like there wasn't anything there it was was at Lois and I knew there was a game when we have like a large amount of Alabama fans coming in like we need a large amount of u fans to come in also and I don't think you're G to get them there by just offering like the same stuff that we have been because they haven't been there before so I think you have to offer something new I don't know the solution I'll give you that I don't think we're gonna get that value of artist at these things that'll be a fun thing to track throughout the year yeah you don't think we're g to get like Zack Bryan or somebody you don't think he can he's always any joking I'm joking I don't think I don't think Blake Shelton donates his time I don't think he does either um okay we got a game to get to Let's uh let's talk a little bit about the game the dep chart was came out uh they officially released the death chart some surprises and maybe not so surprises um Jaden Jackson credit words due Patrick herzberger told us he did a long time ago that Jaden jaon Jaden Action Jackson was gonna be starting a defensive tackle and Patrick's right true freshman started a defensive tackle man Jaden Jackson for him man and he went back to that episode where he picked him first the 24 recruiting class draft and clipped that thing so fast to immediately post it what a guy what a Content master content King uh but that's that's awesome for Jaden um you look at it David Stone is like he's like third string with Devon Sears or isn't he yeah Grayson Halton is behind Jane Jackson um I I'm not crazy it says Kaden Ward or PJ out ofar out ofar I I wish PJ kind of won that job outright um it's kind of upsetting he didn't but I I don't well I'm sure he's still going to get plenty of playing time and it won't necessarily be an issue but uh Kip Lewis also go ahead no just on that on that point too um I'm interested in like do those guys switch sides here and there is there a world where we see Ethan DS and Kaden Ward on the field at the same time like perhaps on certain running Downs when you want to have someone a little bit bigger than our Mason Thomas is 243 and been exposed to injury before uh and and in that case if you do is there then also situations where you just see PJ on the field because the coaches want to see PJ on the field and it might be alongside Ethan DS it might be alongside Kaden Ward I think that that's they have to put out a depth chart that looks like this but I think we see PJ yeah I think you're I think you're right I think we're GNA see looks so big he does I think we're gonna see like a ton of these guys like because this is I think this is the temple game they are they are going to be substituting a lot of people figuring out what works figuring out who looks good um I am I know there's some other things we're going to talk about with the dep chart I'm not going to be surprised if this starts changing across the year um so it's you know I think that's normal I do think there's some surprises in here but I think there's going to be a lot of play time for a lot of people who maybe aren't quote unquote starters on the list uh Mark I think you had a you had a take about Brennan Thompson being a wide receiver one if I'm not mistaken yeah uh you know maybe right maybe but the the sudden outpouring of headlines this week about how Brendan Thompson worked all off season to master his wide receiver one skills and is listed as wide receiver one or Nick Anderson who is dayto day I wouldn't even let him hit the field I wouldn't let him suit up like if you're dayto day at against Temple just sit this one out big dog but I'm just color me a little skeptical and it's one that I hope to be proven wrong about again but this sort of smells a little Gavin Freeman to me and uh it's not that we won't see Brennan play a very important role because he does have game-changing speed where Gavin Freeman just gamechanging effort and uh I think we'll see him a bunch for sure but this this re you know this this newly mastered the route tree Brenan Thompson I'm I'm a little skeptical of Ryan what do you think am I am I just like crazy here are you smoking it or because I'm not I'm not smoking that Brennan Thompson I don't know if I'm smoking it I think they're a couple reasons for this move um I think a the gamechanging speed that you talk about is something that like I like the Gavin Freeman comp but Gavin Freeman didn't have that he didn't have something that like exactly he was inarguably the best at on the team right like Brendon Thompson's the fastest dude like that opens up a lot of doors and we really haven't seen the execution there or just like the play time honestly he hasn't gotten a ton of grows to him in the past so maybe something did happen this past spring and fall where the coaches looked and they were like wow this is um like incredibly impressive and I like we have to put him first I think there might be a little bit of that and then I think there might be a little bit of okay our stud wide receivers are a little injured and we're not sure if we want to put them first on this list just because they're probably not going to see as much play time I'm talking specifically I know we're going to talk about Nick Anderson a little bit but Nick Anderson um and uh oh my gosh Michigan transfer just and Anthony like you know I I think there's a little bit of like okay let's hold on like putting them first and putting them up like but those are guys like I feel like those are our two guys as as well as Burks but like excuse me like I I I think that he has a chance here to prove himself I think they're they're giving him a chance to prove himself and they're going to see if he can take that chance to prove himself while some of our other people who um have shown more promise in the past are a little bit beat up and might take some time to get back to their you know stud levels so I think all of that is kind of true um but I think ultimately at the end of the day they're saying this is a game against Temple you're going to have opportunities let's see if you take advantage of it yeah um the one thing I wanted to point out on the offensive side Jake tayor or Spencer Brown just pick one like don't don't give me two starters at right tackle like come on like who what game are we playing here one guy had to stand out and he's the guy who's going to walk out there at first so tell me who's starting I don't like I don't like the two names on the offensive line we already know the five that are going to be out there aren't going to be the five that are there in four weeks anyway so just just stop with the ore just tell me who deserves to start let him start and if Bill decides that they don't deserve to start after two weeks then they're not gonna and you'll switch to someone else just do that I I don't know what game I don't know why we got to play this game all the time I all of the other ores seem like packages package specific things to me and this one feels like Bill's just not sure yeah but this is the but this is like what I'm talking about that this is the temple game they're going to try probably a bunch of different combinations to see what works you're right and like this is the this is the you know the offensive line we've talked about it before this is the one with the most question marks going into it um and they're going to try a bunch of different stuff and I think that's okay so like with the offensive line I'm not taking this depth chart too much like I think it's going to change a lot probably or maybe it won't and this is like Bill his first choices or or the ride choices but um I I think some of the other ones are going to be more like um more like I don't know cemented in probably throughout the year but like this one I feel you know could change drastically yeah um anything else on the dev chart before we before we move on I got a couple things so um Payton Bowen and Billy Bowman are now on returns which I think I've told you guys I don't like because I am scared they're going to get hurt however BV had a quote about this and now I'm kind of convinced because BV is you know Jesus um um and he's people are saying people are saying um he said that basically like we need to put our best players where they can make the biggest impact and he I don't think he completely referenced last year but I'm referencing last year in the back of my mind when we had those like two muffed hunts and like fumbles who muffed those Ryan I don't even remember who did pretty sure pretty sure one of them was Gavin oh well I think he was one of them but there was another I think there was another one was it the Kansas game that we muffed two which which game was it that we muffed two of them I don't remember remember sorry I interrupted no no no it's fine and so yes I'm scared about them getting hurt but he was basically like you can get hurt at any position in this game not just these um I think in particular I'm worried about punt returns um and however these are arguably our two most athletic players on the team and like you need to put yourself in a position to be able to make plays and I like the fact that BB is just basically saying we need to put these guys where they're going to make the biggest impact and that's in these positions so I've slowly come around to them being in those spots but do you guys have any thoughts about it I didn't like it last year I'm way more open to it this year because the depth back in the in the secondary is a lot stronger I think than it has been previously previously I thought you were putting your number one Far and Away best two dudes in the secondary out there and now I think we've kind of got an army of players that could be there personally I would throw a Sam Franklin or something back there and let a player who we know is dynamic with the ball but isn't necessarily that instrumental somewhere else uh unless you just see a very demonstrable difference between Billy and him or he's not listed on the punt return list but so I guess Billy and him would be the the comparison to make there Mason what do you think yeah so my thing is is this I'm I air more on the side of Ryan's original thinking in that they're too valuable for this team to maybe one time could possibly return a good punt or return a good kick that that just is not worth it to me and if you claim that Brennan Thompson is the guy that that you say he is sounds like he's pretty electric sounds like maybe he should be returning some kicks don't you think don't don't you think I mean that's a guy if you lose Payton Bowen or Billy Bowman your defense is is not in a better spot than it was if you lose Brennan Thompson or pick someone else I'm just picking Brennan Thompson because I know he's fast but you pick someone else that's wide receiver one Brendan Thompson yeah put some respect on his name all due respect is is Brennan Thompson the new Danny Suman people are asking um but I just think you can find other Playmakers to get the ball in their hands and do something electric then guys who mean that much to your team and you a lot of football is about mitigating risk like why would why do you pull starters when you're up by so much you know like you don't want to risk getting those guys hurt you don't want to risk keeping them out there for more plays than they need to be out there so that's exactly what we're doing I just don't I don't like it now is he right that every play is a dangerous play in football yeah of course of course it is but but can you mitigate that risk for your best players yeah I think so is Danny stman walking out there to block on a p attempt hell no hell no he's not out there like you you aren't doing stuff like that I just I think there's different ways to go about it I agree with you but I also saw what happened to his last year and like that can't happen that cannot happen against the teams that we are playing this year it can't like or else we're so screwed so sometimes go ahead no I mean that's my point like that's I I think he's he's taking a risk and he's saying like we're going to put these guys we know how valuable they are but we're going to put them in I think there's a reason pton Bowen is the returner I think that's a much more dangerous position in my opinion maybe I'm wrong but um I I think that there is more depth in in that spot Maybe then we like we can't lose Billy I that would be tragic well the interesting thing is Billy is the backup at pal Turner I just I just looked at it oh really no so sometimes sometimes a fun thing that I just do in my head is what does the other team not want to see and the other team doesn't want to see Billy Bowman or pton Bowen returning that's I think that that is like over all of the other options that we have I'm not 100% sure about some of the names you know maybe they're scared of Deon Burks in a different kind of way but I get you know put your best players out there I get it um I think I'm flipping on myself from earlier as I'm thinking through this let us know Down Below in the comments it's BV Jesus let us know Down Below in the comments what you think of the depth chart and how it was released uh the names on it where they're at uh do you think they got it right who would you like to see moved round um also one more thing real quick uh Schmidt not the field goal kicker Zack Schmidt not the field goal kicker he's a kickoff kick off kick off but I think the other the other senior what is his name also why are there four kickers on the roster seems like lot of kickers seems like wasted Kelner yeah wasted roster space Kelner is gonna be the field goal kicker the starting field goal kicker and Schmidt is going to get kickoffs um and then I think we have a different punter yeah I think I so um and then one more kicker oh who's gonna be the holder Josh plaster GNA be the holder okay so there you go hell yeah that's plaster still has a spot he is the fourth kicker the third punter and the starting holder that makes sense he's gonna be the holder yeah so my thoughts on this is that Schmidt had a bad year last year so like I'm I I I think everyone assumed going in that he would be the guy this year and then it's like oh just kidding we're going to give it to somebody else for now and like see how he does I think that's interesting so especially with how much BB has talked about that like Schmidt's gotten better and he keeps improving and all of this kind of stuff um interested to see where this goes but I think this kicking comp competition is still alive and well perfect Mason to your thing about the kickers they're all red shirt seniors or super seniors yeah and I think that that's just like roster management you can't really account for sometimes yeah I I I think you're probably right um okay on to the Temple Owls not a not a lot to talk about when it comes to Temple but in terms of OU Nick Anderson we have an update on Nick Anderson he's dayto day uh Mark already made the point to not even suit him up not even dress him and I I agree with Mark honestly like you don't need to see this guy against Temple you honestly don't even need to see him the the week after in my opinion if he if he's still dayto day just give him time the time he needs to recover before you get to the meat of your schedule because this is a guy you have Mark really needs him to set out if his bold prediction is Gonna Come True want him get any more I actually I actually need him to freaking put up mad numbers but you need him mad numbers but also not get any more hurt just like yeah it's tough but I'd rather I'd rather us win than the than the Bold prediction come true so um yeah definitely don't play him yeah I think uh in terms of the stuff we want to see uh kind of what you're looking for in this first game you know we we don't really know what this iteration of this team is going to look like just yet so when the team takes a field on Friday night against Temple I want us all to kind of go through one thing that we're hoping to see out of this team whether it's on the offensive side of the ball defensive side of the ball or just a specific person uh who's who's going to be playing and uh just kind of what you're looking for for me I really want to see if the defense can live up to the hype now are we going to see what they look like in reality against Temple no probably not but what I can see is if you start off completely and utterly dominant and just physically overwhelmed Temple from the jump that would be something that would show there's growth and show that this defense continues to get better and better and better because under the previous reg regime didn't matter who you were playing you never physically overwhelmed anybody and on the defense side the ball at least so that's what I want to see I want to see the front seven really just Dominate and be all up in the quarterback's Chile all night long causing havoc in the Run game all sorts of stuff like that and be out of there be out of there by the first drive in the third quarter that's really what I want to see because they're doing their job so well and the offense is doing their job so well that that's when we can start pulling guys I'm I need them to get 15 sacks because I my bold prediction is 50 so I need them to like rack them up no I'm just kidding that's not my actual thing my my actual thing is uh I I'm looking at the offense because I want to see how different this offense is than the previous two years we've had with Levy and I think it's going to be mostly in how they utilize the running back room that's what I'm going to be watching the most of um because I I I feel like the running backs were underutilized last year and and probably the year before um but this year we have we have really good running backs this year we still don't know much about the offensive line and if it's going to be enough we still have questions about Arnold a little bit um I'm just interested to see if they can put it all together from an offensive side and I again I know this is Temple so we're not going to see defenses like we will later in the year but this is a perfect time to you know make mistakes and learn from them but I also want to see you know how different are we than previous years and um are we are like are we actually like are we actually evolving on that side of the ball I guess is what I'm saying ultimately because I want us to be able to use a bunch of different pieces and I think that goes for tight ends as well I'm expecting a lot from bar sharp this year like I I want us to see a bunch of different utilizations of our offense so that's what I'm going to be looking for perfect Mark yeah yeah I was actually zeroing in on the running back room also I think that you know we've heard everything in the world about gavonte Barnes this off season and I'm excited to see that come to fruition uh you know Gavin sj's going to play a large role I just really want to see what the distribution looks like Caleb Hicks you're not going to red shirt him again all right let's let's get this guy on the field and I want to watch him carry the football a handful of times we just signed uh or signed got Sam Franklin out of the out of the transfer portal he led the team in carries in the spring game so you have to figure he's going to play into this as well and Taylor Tatum apparently looks fantastic and there's no limit on what he might do this year according to Brent vbl so that's a room that I think we could see go for I mean I I the owls the Temple Owls gave up 198 rushing yards a game last season I we we could go for 300 you know there's no reason we don't go for 250 and and I want to see what the breakdown of that really looks like at the end of the day that's the big thing for me that with the running backs go ahead Ma I think the thing that sticks out to me also on the offensive side of the ball is for the wide receivers I know what I have in Nick Anderson but I need to see even even guys like Jalil faroo what does this iteration of Jalil faroo bring to the table what has he done to improve his game and what does he look like on the field now a quiet year last year after if you recall that offseason hype last year all the talk was about julo faroo all all of it was about getting him the ball and making him a focal point of the offense almost and then just very quiet and I'm not here to hate on the guy I think he's a great football player I just want to see what is this maybe he plays a little more free because not a lot of the pressure is on him he doesn't need to be the guy anymore and I know that Nick is probably going to be that guy but like we were talking about if Nick doesn't play or is limited in any capacity other guys are going to get opportunities and you're going to get opportunities to get the ball thrown to you and get open for a Young quarterback get his confidence going let's not make a mistake here this game is massive massive for Jackson Arnold's confidence moving forward it's so big you this first game back first couple games back it's going to be so important for him to have good games and put up all due respect Gody numbers and I think U knows that I think it's important to them that he gets off on the right foot and they're GNA sling the ball around a little bit I think they're going to try to I really do um and it's going to be the wide receiver's job to get open for their Young quarterback and build his confidence as you head Into The Gauntlet that is the SEC season well then when it comes to Jackson it's just about getting actual real competitive snaps against a defense that isn't your defense you've been playing against all year and a guy actually wants to hit you right that's there's something to that experience from the quarterback perspective that you can't teach really in practice and I think we're going to see a lot of Jackson even as you see like until they start moving the offensive line into into crazy spots right we got a third offensive line in let's throw Michael Hawkins or Casey Thompson in the game and I think the coaches are smart about stuff like that but we'll see him out there with all sort of skill position players I wouldn't be surprised to see 10 or 11 guys get a touch on Friday yeah I I expect three full quarters of Jackson Arnold on on Friday I I think three four quarters is probably what we get out of him you gotta be up something stupid at half right you gotta be something like It's gotta be crazy yeah yeah um Ryan do you want you have anything to add no I mean I agree with everything you said I this is you know we're talking about a 43 point spread game but it's incredibly it's so important because it sets the stage for the entire season like it's the first game back we have a bunch of new things like we've talked about already with new coordinators new quarterback new offensive line like we we need to set a good tone for the year and it starts on Friday night perfect score prediction time let's do it oh God okay I'm going first because I picked U to cover the spread in in a lot of games this year so I got 59 to 14 Oklahoma wins it 59 to 14 cover the 43 and a half like Ryan just said right you said you gave me 43 and a half that was the number I I think I said 43 but it's right around there regardless covering covering regardless um so that I I think U comes out strong I think they start off hot I think they jump on Temple very very early and we see him kind of kind of Coast from that moving forward but like like Mark kind of alluded to wow excuse me sorry guys like Mark kind of alluded to I would not be shocked with a with like a 49 to to seven halftime lead something absurd like that I would I would not be shocked not at all um mine's actually really similar to yours Mason I'm going to go 5610 oh covering as well covering as well I think again I said like I mentioned the tone that we have to set we have to set a good tone against this team we have to set a we have to come out like guns of Blazing right we we have to be able to show like if there is any kind of doubt against Temple what is that gonna sew for like the rest of the year right I just we can't do it like we have to I think we have to beat this spread are we going to I don't know I I think we will that's my prediction is 5610 but oh yeah Mark what we got yeah so I'm seeing it as 42 and a half right now and uh if we give up any touchdowns isn't that kind of a letup like if we give up anything at all because I think we're going to give up like a last like a fourth quarter like gimme touchdown that's usually what we do sure some garbage Time stuff yeah I don't really play for garbage time I'm going 52 nothing 52 nothing Mark Mark's locked in baby I don't really I don't really play for garbage time I freaking love it get out of here I'm all about it uh okay let us know Down Below in the comments thing you've said up your your score prediction uh after the game folks we're gonna have a postgame pod for you uh trying to figure out when that'll be we'll have a we'll have that announcement for you when when we get it um but tune in all season long going to have a game pod for you each week and then a postgame pod after the game uh where we break it all down um okay boys uh I think it's time for our pgp MVP of the week time and uh Mark we're going to start with you who's your MVP of the week man oh jenies I do not have anything I got one ready I I got you know what I'll just I'll just go uh Broken Bow I was there this weekend for a bachelor party and it is just it is just such a beautiful little town and we went to there's a place called grateful Head which is a fantastic name in a couple of different ways and they a Burg oh it's a pizza place Burg Place yeah so it's a pizza place and it's also a brewery and it is just like really good stuff so I had you go to no the new one Casino I don't really mess with Oklahoma casinos anymore because of the the 50 Cent ante you got to pay every time oh yeah that's such aack on the blackjack player that I'm actually going to switch this and go lvp Oklahoma casinos uh because it takes a lot for me to not sneak away and gamble a little bit when I'm that close perfect so lvp Sovereign nations of Oklahoma that's right you're no no no no no no no simply simply their leverage of the casino system okay yeah let's not let's not make this bigger than it is love that uh Ryan who's your MVP um I'm going to go we've already talked about Georgia Tech but I want to give my MVP to just the country of Ireland like that seemed like so much fun to be in that environment and I know there's been a lot of talk recently about like BB like never wanting to do that and like never wanting like U to open their season like overseas or anything like that but I think that would be so fun like I I I just genuinely think that would be a great time it sounds great it's like it's like 60° over there the beer is wonderful um you're kind of on vacation but you're also there to see your team and like imagine how good it must feel to be like a Georgia Tech fan who like went to Ireland and went to Dublin and was like we're probably gonna lose this game but I'm just gonna have a great time and then they won it and then you get to celebrate in Dublin like love it wonderful country of Ireland good stuff perfect uh round us out my pgp MVP of the week is the U NFL pipeline Creed Humphrey becoming the highest paid Center in the NFL at the same week cidd lamb getting the deal done with the Dallas Cowboys CD lamb getting paid $31 million a year I believe is the final number or is it 38 I can't remember I think it's 31 I think 38 I think it's 31 I think it's 30 you said I think it's 1 it's 134 right over no 136 so that's where I got the 136 from so 32 yeah 32 it's 34 34 34 because 34 J is 35 a year so he's the only one that's he did 140 lock CD locked in more guaranteed money than JJ that's place where he was able to get that and it was only 4 million more like it was 140 versus 36 so but uh huge congrats to those two guys they they so very much deserve it CD one of the best wide receivers in the NFL Creed Humphrey the best center in the NFL argue with your mother uh the we also waiting for Trent Williams Trent Williams man even though he's getting up there in age the dude's still gonna get paid someone's gonna pay him and if it's not San Francisco it'll be somebody it'll be somebody um so credit I think I saw something absurd like uh the U few players in the NFL are making over $100 million this year or some or something like that and the Texas players are making like 30 million less than CD c no it's it's just it's less than City yeah yeah the I think the thing was like total earnings of guys um two after Alabama I think I remember what I'm looking it was like 42 million Texas is on the other side of the graic somewhere like or 10 yeah they're just you know they don't they talk like it they talk like it but they don't ball like it and they don't walk like it so just is exactly lvp Texas Longhorns that's right always and forever that's going to do it
