[Music] hey what's going on everybody Sammy L Kim here and I'm back with another one today we are looking at Mark granowski and cam Miller two who I would say are the two top quarterbacks in the FCS subdivision of football um each of them have won a national championship in their own right cam Miller in 2021 Mark granowski 2022 2023 season the 2023 championship and the 2023 season which would have been the 2024 Championship um just amazing players really good quarterbacks very accurate players they both have been blessed with great talent around them really good head coaches really good um organizations really good schools everything everything they've been blessed they're also blessed themselves with great arm Talent great running ability as well we're going to be looking at cam Miller we're going to be looking at markowski markowski film is going to be first then we're going to be looking at some cam Miller Clips um I have some stats for each of them Mark gronowski two uh 3,000 passing yards 29 touchdowns five interceptions 68.1 completion percentage um he carried the ball 93 times last year for 402 yards eight touchdowns 4.3 yards per carry and cam Miller we got 26 almost 2700 passing yards 19 touchdowns four interceptions 71 1.2% completion percentage um 135 carries for cam Miller so he carried the ball a little bit more than Mark 629 yards 13 touchdowns a few more touchdowns in Mark and 4.7 yards per carry so not that much difference in the yards per carry but he was asked to run the ball a little bit more um in terms of passes and rushes per game um Mark gronowski is passing the ball 20.4 times per game and he's averaging 20 just over just under 204 yards pass yards per game for rushes um Mark gronowski is carrying the ball 6.2 carries per game and he's averaging about 27 rushing yards per game for cam Miller he's throwing the ball 19.4 uh around 19.4 times per game um one less than mark on average and 179.1 pass yards per game so about 20 less than Mark so that's interesting um he's passing less passing for Less yards but he's rushing more so maybe the passes that he the the one or two passes that he's throwing less than Mark he's asked to rush nine carries per game 41.9 rush yards per game so more than Mark also asked to carry the ball a little more we're going to be looking at both of them make sure you guys hit the Subscribe button make sure you guys hit the like make sure you guys leave me a comment down below of what you guys think of both these guys obviously they're stars in their own right they're both FCS royalty at this point both National excuse me both national champions both have um a ton of awards underneath their belt to quarterbacks who are the class of the Missouri Valley we are going to be taking a look at their film make sure you guys leave me a like we will get straight into the video okay so first things first here got a little play action for Mark granowski um they run the ball a ton their offensive line was really good last year you're going to see this um tight end slip out on the corner route Mark's got a little bit of pressure in his face but he's still able to get a good ball to his guy who was obviously wide open and it's a touchdown nothing crazy right there they're playing Northern Iowa I think they ended up blowing Northern Iowa out they blew out most of their opponents out last year so that's no surpris but that was the first clip right there here we go right here he's going to throw this out route I one wanted to commend this receiver this is a really good route you got the DB playing outside leverage he's not really getting up out of there he's still right there good break at the top he drifted a little bit quite a bit he drifted he hit the break at like the 47 and he ends up floating almost five yards five or six yards but I like the ball from Mark rowski getting in on his guy in a man coverage I don't even think it's man I think it's Zone but it's it's one-on-one down here so it's really man but he looks like he's trying to bail good route good ball for Mar granowski a little inside on the ball but getting it to his guy and pretty good completion right there pretty good pretty good result right there here we go right here dropping back he's got his tight end um who's running they're running like this switch concept up to the top um switch concept with I think that might be another tight end yeah so two tight ends running that switch concept I think that other tight end that's running in front of him is number 34 you got number 87 I think his name was Hines is Hines not was is hin um Zach I think is his first name going to get him the ball on the switch release Post Corner combination ball on a rope for maranowski right across the middle really really good job I think we might have Endzone view right here yeah yeah you get a better look at it right here right in the guy's bread basket and for the touchdown really really good what like um one thing I would say about Mark ganowski and it's not a knock against him or anything but he was dealing with a lot of times and what you're probably going to see on this cutup a lot is he was dealing with a lot of wide open receivers not that that's any fault of him of his own I mean it's not his problem that he had a bunch of weapons around him but I will say comparatively to comparatively to what I've seen with Cam Miller and Mark granowski I think cam Miller was asked to throw in many more Tight Windows than Mark granowski was I'll say that here we go once again you got a uh an out route to the field I like this throw CU it's a Big Boy Throw he's got to get it all across the field on a rope right in his receiver's hands easy catch um really good ball from maranowski really good ball going all the way across the field to the opposite numbers really really good job like it I like it here we go looks like we're going to throw something deep scrambling and getting to his guy uh along the sidelines tried to find somebody deep nobody's open he's going to scramble um obviously he's pretty good at using his legs so guys are going to respect that but good for him to keep his eyes downfield finding a guy along the sidelines really really good job right there I think he's going to throw oh no something across the middle right here right where his Tian can get it over that second level Defender that guy's going to stay underneath this is Drake I believe that linebacker stays underneath he throws it right over the top right in his uh tight end's hands really good ball right there and he didn't lead him too much cuz you got those Defenders up field in front of him he knew how to place the ball um in the right spot so not to lead his guy into danger really really good ball for Mark there here we go he's going to throw this wheel route this is another route that I'm talking about when it's like it's a really good ball good placement by him but the rece is wide open and credit his offensive coordinator for being able to scheme up really good um really good plays for him to get guys wide open um but that's that's that's what he was dealing with last season he's dealing with wide open receivers no fault of his own running that wheel route he's got really good weapons all over the place I'm pretty sure this guy was a freshman last year but he he made a lot of plays for them last year here you go on the bootleg throwing back on the um leak so you got one of the yonkee brothers right here they're in the bunch formation tight he's going to act like he's handed off booting out but you don't have anybody over here he's slipping uh I can't remember I don't know if this is Jaden or Jackson YY one of the twins seeping underneath getting up down that wheel um trajectory down the opposite sidelines of where he started on that leak route and catching it wide open for the touchdown really good ball for Mark granowski not his guy's not having a slow down a significant amount to make the play granted he was wide open but um sometimes you can tell when a ball is like severely underthrown on something like this and I like that his guy didn't really have to slow down he caught in stride here we go once again he was wide open though so um take that for what it's worth here you go I really like this um they're running a switch concept once again um maybe not even a switch concept but maybe sending one guy vertical and having a guy go on a post underneath him but it's still a switch concept you're getting the defense jumbled up with their assignment but really good ball from Mar gronowski um right in the Bread Basket I don't even know if uh the receiver was really out of his break by the time Mark granowski threw the ball but his receiver was able to run right into it catch it easily and up field really really good job really really good job here we go empty formation for South Dakota state markowski is going to scramble now I mentioned his rushing stats when we started the video um obviously he rushed for 4 93 carries 400 yards last year eight touchdowns 4.3 yards per carry so he he's he's not super super effective he's not averaging five six yards a carry but he's doing enough with his legs to be able to affect the game doing enough think really really good run there for Mar gronowski really good run once again wide open I mean this guy has had a great team around him a great team around him but you know you still got to make the plays still got to make the plays here you go um 10 Personnel it looks to me 2 by two set and you got your receiver so you got the corner route down here and it kind of looks like maybe like a juke like he's faking the stop route right here in the window and then going up field like it looks like they drew this up like they scheme this up because it looks like um Illinois State's trying to get three over two on this side they have successfully got three over two they look like like if he stops right there they have him bracketed if this receiver stops right where he was going to stop they have him bracketed that inside what am I going to call that linebacker that inside linebacker um hesitated when he stuttered and the receiver's able to get up field easy touchdown good ball from Mark gronowski but once again offensive coordinator scheming them up to get these boys open really really good offensive scheme he's been playing in here you go right here corner out from his young receiver last year um not particularly tight coverage or anything like that they're playing man coverage in the Red Zone um very tight inside the 5 yard line you know there not a much room to work so man coverage from the defense and it's a wide open TouchDown for this guy wide open TouchDown really really good play there from the guys fade ball to his guy one of the yonkey Bros floating it up there for his guy and he's making the catch not much separation right here but the ball was put on the back shoulder for where his guy can make a play on it really good play right there really good job right there great execution good ball from Mark rowski here you go scrambling looking downfield catching the guy catching one of the yonkey Bros coming across the field I think he started down here he might have started down there he might be in here though might be in here I'm not so sure what route they're running can't see it that's the Crux of not having an all 22 film but he gets back to him on the scramble really good job nothing crazy right there deep ball once again another wide open open receiver um we can't see it but it looks like um definitely just got beat might have run a double move seems like something um like a double move might have happen like an out and up maybe cuz look at the split he's very tight he's close to the hashes right here so got to believe he was leaving space for a double move must have run the double move one cuz he's much closer to the sidelines after whatever happened he's wide open good ball from Mar gronowski right once again wide open receiver but there's something to be said about the ball being put right in his receiver's hands no missed steps catching it right and stride for the easy touchdown really really good job there really good job great execution um another ball on the Deep over or not even the Deep Over the sail route so you're getting a sail route from this tight end who's attached down here tight end attached right here they're in um 12 Personnel two tight ends Ace formation out of the pistol and this tight end's going to run a sail route get into that empty window and the zone in the zone looks like a cover three Zone Manning up back here on this receiver one high safety getting in that zone that was voided by that receiver taking that take right over top and it's a really good big completion good ball from markowski his guy's able to catch it in stride not catching it too close to the sidelines catching it to where he can still run up field not late with the ball or anything I like it good execution mesh inside with a deep out over the top or the Deep out on the backside so I think they're running deep out with yonkey brother right here the Deep out at about 10 to 15 probably rolling maybe deeper and he's catching it along the sidelines good ball for markowski this is tight coverage and his gu is able to make the catch um along the sidelines really good job they might have waved that off they did wave it off dang good ball for maranowski still nonetheless but wow I can't believe they wave this off looks like he for sure got his foot down well maybe that right foot came down either way where we got U Alban versus South Dakota State South Dakota State absolutely ran these guys off the field last year broke this down before the game when they were going into the Montana game here you go they're going to run this nod route up here at tight up top with the tight ends they love to do two tight end sets um they love to do two tight end sets they're in empty right here looks like Isaiah Davis is down here probably went before the snap pre- snap or he might have lined up there but two tight ends up top and one in the hit position one attached and and running that nod right on that linebacker really good ball for Mark ganowski there wasn't a lot of space where that ball could be put and Mark ganowski put it uh right on the money for his tight end for the touchdown really really good job great execution here you go right here marowski is going to run this is probably one of his better runs of the season um really good yardage here on this run really good move right there with the design quarterback draw on Third and six really timely play call right here um and it's blocked up really well by the guys up front and he's going getting very close to a touchdown inside the 5 yd line inside the three yard line really really good job great job right there great job got another Corner route by his guy one of the yonkee brothers this is a more deep throw he's throwing it from closer to this opposite hash throwing it to those opposite numbers over there on the money his guy once again is fairly open but once again we're not going to blame him for having weapons but really good ball really good catch really good run after the catch as well for from the yonkee brother here we go right here first and 18 for Mark granowski throwing it deep on the out route to number 12 um once again decent leverage from this defensive back on this out route his receiver wins it's another deep throw from one hash to the opposite numbers really like this throw Big Boy Throw on the money for the first down on First and 18 obviously this is more of the tight quarters throws that people like to see that are he's going to see more often in the professional league in the NFL so um this is something that I know the the scouts love to see him execute at a high level throws like this big boy throws like this on the money great job good timing good everything here you go first and 10 marowski is dropping back throwing it deep wants to get another wide open receiver they're running this switch release also again um the one tight end stayed vertical um Hines was in a hit formation he's going to bend it inside and maranowski puts a perfect ball on there really good execution right there here you go now we got cam Miller cam Miller is personally who I think is the better of the two you guys can say what you want about that I personally think he's better he was like the most accurate passer in football all season last year he was like the most efficient passer in college and FCS football all season last year I think he hits a lot of um tight quarters throws I think when the game is on the line you can depend on cam Miller more than you can depend on a lot of quarterbacks in FCS football that's not a shot at anybody else but I think cam Miller knows how to show up when the moment is the biggest he's won a national championship as has Mark granowski but I'm a big fan of Cam Miller I think cam Miller runs a little better I think he's a little more explosive in the Run game as well um a little more than Mark gronowski obviously Mark I think was asked not I think the numbers say that Mark threw the ball a little more than cam Miller so a lot of people would say that you know cam Miller is not asked to do as much as Mark granowski but the numbers are very very similar very close so they're both really great players we're splitting hairs here I'm not trying to say one is bad just because I say one is the be is better than the other um one might not be better than the other but I prefer cam Miller over Mar granowski so let's get into a little bit of Cam Miller's film right here deep ball to his guy wide open I said it for Mark I'mma say it for cam Miller as well both of these guys like I said at the beginning um have a ton of Talent on their teams they have a ton of Talent on their teams so sometimes you're going to be dealing with guys who are um super super open deep ball to his guy I think that was a slot receiver who started right here out of the slot ended up running a post from that slot formation ended up running a post from that slot formation right here and cam excuse me CAM Miller's getting the ball to him with accuracy really big time play against South Dakota in the quarterfinals deep ball to the guy to on the sail route to um his receiver number 13 I think that was green last year um I think his name is Eli green but really good ball from cam Miller here along the sidelines good route from his receiver as well but good ball from cam Miller good ball from cam Miller got a little pressure in the pocket as well not always a clean PO for cam Miller and it's an accurate ball on time I mean say what you want the the man's accuracy speaks for itself 71.5% completion percentage is no joke here you go ball on the run along the sidelines a little behind but once again he's under pressure hitting a guy under pressure along the sidelines his receiver Eli green once again here you go play action something that we see a lot from North Dakota state looks like they're growing deep and it's right on the money for his receiver once again Eli green great ball this is something that we did not see for Mark granowski and this is one of the reasons why I would prefer cam Miller over Mark granowski you can say what you want about um sometimes he does have his laws sometimes he does have his down times when he's not playing as good but for the most part I think when you need him to hit hit an open receiver when you need him to dial up a pass when you need him to be on he's on and I don't see Mark granowski hit tight quarters receivers all the time now there was against Montana Montana I think he hit a couple of tight quarters throws um but but I didn't see it a lot from maranowski last season so I'm not hating on him I'm not trying to put him down or anything he does hit tight quarters throws he is a very good quarterback you don't win two national championships and not be a good quarterback but I see it more of Cam Miller and if I was personally choosing I would want the guy who who does it um better at a higher both good quarterbacks let me reiterate that both really really good players really good players here you go play action once again for North Dakota State getting it across the middle great ball got a taller receiver coming across the middle he's your number three he might be your number two I think he's the number two Receiver right here I think that was matthysse or I think this guy's name was matthysse but uh getting it to your guy across the middle um right on the money lot of people lot of traffic around there a lot of red jerseys around there cam Miller puts it on the money that accuracy I will reiterate that reiterate that that accuracy from cam Miller is something that stands out to me and that is a damn accurate pass on second and 16 clean pocket for him right here but tight quarters catch for his receiver and it's right on the money from cam Miller really really good job here you go looks like their playoff game against Drake in the first round of the playoffs he's getting it across the field on the over to Eli green Eli green is open the Pocket is clean as well you see Eli green starting to go on the over right here looks like he motioned in from deeper outside and hitting him right in the right in the chest and he gets more after the catch really really good job right there here you go third and 16 going deep to your guy right in the Bread Basket and getting the touchdown really really good job right there this is a really good ball this is a really good ball guys going in from the slot you got the slot guy right here running the slot fade look like a widened hitch from your outside receiver slot fade pressure in your face I mean this is not an easy hit throw to hit it's along the sidelines where you don't have a lot of space but on top of that he's got a a Blitzer free Blitzer just running straight at him and he knows he's going to take a hit despite that he still delivers a perfect ball for the touchdown I mean cuz that was some pretty decent coverage I mean he's got a step on the guy but really really good ball under pressure for the touchdown really really good job great execution that is something for me that stands out for cam Miller above Mark granowski no shot at granowski it's just something about cam Miller that stands out a little bit more for me once again another tight quarters catch to his receiver um green right over the top floated over the top of that uh Defender with his back turned and then you got a safety coming over the top I mean right on the money for the touchdown once again really really good this is really beautiful beautiful ball good spiral on the money to his guy great execution right there love to see it I love to see it another deep pass a along the sidelines on the money I mean you guys I cannot make this I cannot make this stuff up y'all I cannot make this stuff up I I've looked at all the film I looked for so many clips for Mark granowski I watched many games I watched some of their best games some of the deep throws that they've thrown um maybe I just didn't catch some of the games where he was throwing um tight quarters cat catches like this but these we've seen it back to back to back to back to back with Cam Miller I put a bunch of throws on for Mark granowski put a bunch of throws on for cam Miller um cam Miller is is dialing it up for sure dialing it up here we go a little running ability for cam Miller on the read option um good block from his tight end he's getting an end zone but he looks like I mean even when he runs he just looks like he's got a little bit more juice than Mark Mark is a little bigger guy so that's might be what you see the difference in you know explosion from cam to mark but um I think they're kind of the same cam was asked to run a little more than Mark so I think if you if you did gave them the same amount of carries in a season they'd probably have the exact same rushing stats probably the same for the passing stats honestly maybe not really good ball um I don't necessarily think this is a great ball from cam Miller he kind of floated it up there he gave his guy an opportunity which is a lot what a lot of guys ask for but I mean damn good play from his receiver to go up and make the play your quarterback can only give you an opportunity it's up to you to go make the play and he did that catching At His Highest Point Eli green really good job really really good job here we go little read option once again great mesh point right here with the running back you see that in that he's reading this is the guy we're reading this is the guy we're reading hold that mesh point until he commits he committed I'm running see you later and he's going to run to the end zone easy peasy easy peasy for cam Miller here we go drop back out route here's another one of those big boy throws that we talked about with Mark rowski cam Miller is on the opposite hash he's throwing it to the opposite numbers all the way over here you see the out route um at about 15 to 18 yards maybe hit the break at 15 roll to 18 um good ball camiller right in the Bread Basket for his guy little hop to make the catch and it's a first down really really good job on third and 14 Big Time play right here big time play on third down money down really really good job really good job right there here we go another deep over on the run right here I'm not so sure he might have thrown it I'm trying to see it's kind of hard to see where they end up on their routes yeah so this is the slot guy from over here this guy right here is going to run the Deep Over camer is going to get pressure in his face on the roll out going to have somebody trying to get him somebody trying to hit him in the face and somebody chasing after him despite all that Under Pressure getting the ball on the money to a wide open receiver nonetheless a wide open receiver still on the money great job right there great execution here you go first and 10 Deep post to his receiver and it's right on the money right on the money great job great job clean pocket get something that Mark and cam Miller both deal with a lot clean Pockets but getting it to his guy for the for the big completion really good job read option right here um got the the tight end or the fullback Arc releasing probably can hand it or pull it he decided to pull it that guy bit on the handoff fake that's probably the read right there we read him we leave somebody else to block and he gets in the end zone good job good job cam here we go empty formation empty formation for NDSU and they're throwing it deep to the receiver on the money kind of looks like he yeah widen and slipped on the DB down here who's playing hard outside leverage cam Miller puts the ball up and down and it's a touchdown really really good job really really really good job great job right there from cam Miller here we go third and seven third and seven deep ball on the slot fade guy had to slow down a little bit to go up and make make a play this is probably not one of his better throws but still gave his guy an opportunity guy went up and made him right good job way to put the ball up from cam Miller good job for his guy to go make a play really really good job here we go deep ball to his guy along the sidelines on the money once again clean pocket guys in tight coverage and either my guys catching it or nobody's catching it right in the money right on the money I love this this is like Po Tre when you see a catch like this over the shoulder the ball the catch amazing amazing here you go drop back scrambling on the Move throwing to your left getting it to your guy right along the sidelines might look easy he might like make it look a little easy but this is not easy to flip your hips to get this ball off uh with good accuracy along the sidelines really good job from cam Miller really really good job really really good job that's something you see a lot from Patrick Mahomes these days Josh there's a lot of quarterbacks doing that stuff but it's it's not normal all the time it's not normal let me not say all the time it's not normal you got this boot um little boot naked action to the right and getting it to your guy on the um out route on the flood concept looks like a basic flood concept got a ghost flat flood and then a go route more go route on more go route on the outside good completion from cam Miller on the Move nothing crazy rolling to his right that should be something you can hit especially when they're wide open drop back scram ramble in got somebody coming across double pump it and get it to your guy for the first down really good job on second and seven the double pump with once again pressure in your face good accuracy first down really really good job keeping the drive alive not taking a loss not taking a sack I mean great job no turnover either really really good job right there really really good job third 19 once again money down deep ball getting it to the over to Eli green who's getting up field for good yardage nothing crazy right here I like it how he's you know kind of moving up field doesn't 100% have a set platform gets it to the guy um for the first down on third 19 good execution good execution third and seven running running with it quarterback power and he's getting upfield for the F for the touchdown really good blocks here from the line really good blocks from the line blocking everybody down right here pulling the guard around guard's got that backer that tight ends work up field sealing this edge with this tackle get up field to that second level with that linebacker good block one guy to miss and I'm In The End Zone really good job really really good job money down once again third and four getting it out to your guy on the out route nothing crazy um this is an opposite hash throw a little further throw but it's a shorter route get it to your guy for the first down though Eli green feels like all we've seen is Eli green deep ball on the slot Fade to the slot receiver I think this was Eli green again as well really good completion right here by by cam Miller good um judgment on this ball by the receiver cuz he kind of had to slow down to offset um trejon from Montana and kind of slowed down but stuck that one hand out there really good catch great job right there great job right there here you go from cam Miller rolling out I don't know if I would call this a good ball he's throwing it across his body to the middle of the field um his receiver is there he's in tight coverage some might even say being pied but he makes the catch really good job really good job from cam Miller really really good job here you go right here this was one of the biggest throws of this game let me tell you right now hear me and hear me good when I say cam Miller knows how to show up when you need it folks it's second and 13 I think they had just taken a sack or tackle for loss before this play second and 13 two minut 2 minutes and 40 seconds left if you don't complete this it's now third and 13 Montana's for sure going to Blitz everybody go zero coverage to every body else on the sticks and the game is essentially over after that you still have two timeouts but it's looking dire for you like this throw right here on his back foot to his receiver to the field I mean the cameraman thought he was sacked but you got an open receiver on the Deep out up here deep out up here at the sticks cam Miller's getting some pressure backing up off his back foot one foot in the ground when he's throwing this ball all arm straight gets it to the guy for the first down to keep the drive alive and essentially keep their season alive this this was a damn good throw y'all this was a damn good throw and this was a damn good drive if you don't watch any else of that Montana Montana that Montana North Dakota State game please go watch that last Drive of The Game and Watch How cam Miller LED his team to overtime every throw every time they needed him to make a throw he made a throw please please do me a favor and go watch that really good ball from cam Miller great great execution right here I did have all 22 of this game but if I'm not going to put all 22 of you know the rest of the game I might not as well have put it on for this so that's why I didn't do all the rest of this cut up that's why I didn't do it and then for the touchdown to tie it up um Second and seven receiver Eli green once again who else um running this corner route I don't know if it's a corner route or out it kind of looks like a corner but he's running to that back pylon cam Miller puts the ball on him he sets you can see the receiver kind of sets the angle to the back pylon and cam Miller is like no I need you back down here he's on your back I'mma throw you down that's how they like it you set your angle let the quarterback then put the ball where he wants you to be he set an angle to the back pylon pulled him back down great execution right here really good ball when they needed it most amazing amazing so that is going to conclude my cam Miller Mark granowski breakdown obviously I would prefer cam Miller they're both great quarterbacks if I could play with either of them I would have played with I would have loved to play with both of them pause but they're both really good players both really really good quarterbacks great accuracy from both of them they're both national champions um they're the class of the FCS right now people are trying to catch up to them um it's going to be a great season to see what they're able to do this year um you guys let me know in the comments what you guys think about both of these quarterbacks two of the top quarterbacks two the two top quarterbacks in FCS football um I appreciate you guys for tapping in
