Introduction greetings everyone welcome back to the north Texas mean green Dynasty here on college football 25 here on E uh Pastor game 2 yo I'm so ready for today I'm ready for this game because it's a Revenge game man the UAB uh Blazers beat us earlier this season in a conference Championship ship and uh we just did not show up that game if you go back if you if you just join us then you should go back take a look at that game spoiler alert we lost the game we lost that game and we it we just we just didn't show up man five in five turnover I mean it was it was an ugly performance from us and left the very bad taste in our mouth and and now now we get to we get to get a little revenge and the Revenge potentially in a really important type of way like you know they won the championship but if we get this win we will be able to battle for the national championship and that's just you know that's just a better trump card you know uh so uh I'm ready I want to beat these guys and I think they're beatable um I think they're beatable so it should be fun one thing to take a look uh take a look at here is the the uh what what was I going to look at before I jumped into the game oh I forgot what I was going to look at oh I think I was just going to mention oh yes what it was it's it's just a peach it's the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl y'all we've got a few uh we we're in it so I don't know man I I'm I'm flustered I can't figure out my words cuz the time has come and I'm ready so let's just get to it right let's let's do this thing I think I might we going to do the All Blacks but I think I might change up something about the all black we're going to go all blacks and maybe we will change it we'll go with green socks just black and white a Bo okay let's stupid [Music] black that doesn't look great I want to do something special for this game ooh okay we'll go with that let's go with that uh the black Jersey's good yeah the black Jersey is good all right I think I think this is it we going to do this thing also let me let me see what their Jersey is okay so if we're black then they would be white or light colored we'll go with the all white they have something fun oh they I mean I kind of like their jerseys honestly I kind of like their colors all right let's get to it [Music] Peach Bowl Matchup: UNT vs. UAB welcome folks to downtown Atlanta and Mercedes Benz Stadium ladies and gentlemen welcome to downtown Atlanta you heard him we are here far away from Dallas but hype as ever ready to get into the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl facing off against what could be a potential rival in this dynasty the UAB Blazers took us out in the Conference Championship and now we are ready to meet them again in just short time and the winner of this one goes all the way to the National Championship probably the Rose Bowl so you see the UN mean green faithfuls on the one side and the Blazer faithful on the other and it looks like uh the mean green will be the ones to kick off first and let see if we can get a little bit better performance out of this team than we did a few weeks ago if we remember right UAV likes to run a no color offense and so we will need to be ready to do that with this team and uh they were able to run the ball pretty well come out with three receivers we'll come out in the nickel package to see if we can wi do something about it put on a and they' already there's a run and he is met with a two yd gain and there they go They're going to come out with the no huddle stay in the eye formation looks like I think we're going to look at some more running here no they're going to pass it and the quarterback is brought down nice play by the linebacker number four I believe that's the linebacker squeaks through the line and meets the quarterback and already we have third and long third and 16 that's T Curtis coming off the left side of the defense offense rather getting to the quarterback and putting putting him down it's a big play for this team and it would be so great if we can get them off the field right now oh they may go with a they're going to go with a screen play and it's not going to be enough not to get the first and so the north Texas green defense who has found some life in the last three or four weeks are the standing up against this Blazer team by the will be caugh and they take them on three and out all right fellas this is uh the offense going to come out we have the true freshman quarterback Garrison Surman fast can throw the ball as a last time he played these guys he just was under pressure all over the place interview this week he said man he's ready to make a big difference look at old but there's R ragdale and he's already putting his step on this game but yeah Garrison Ser said look you know what last time he played the lights were a little bit too bright for him wasn't quite sure how he was going to deal with it look at this though there's a k of Rags down got another big game down the left side in the balls number 14 mean green moving the ball already much different than we saw in the last game that offense was anemic last time we played and this time already two pretty pretty good plays all right first pass play and there is a dropped oh that is a catch oo that's a nice throw so down in the redone get it going here is a crucial play coming up second and five there's the hand off and that one won't go anywhere so now we're at third and six defens coin will I just want my definitely want a touchdown here that one right there he almost ends up tackling the quarter as he's handing the ball this offense is lucky they didn't end up F there he is they find Landing size touchdown greenan [Applause] Greening ex Landon SI continues uh to be a solid contributor in this this uh playoff run and shout out to the offensive line the quarterback has time today um they've uh already kind of stepped up their game the Le he has not had a lot of time and did not have a lot of time the last time that these two teams met so we also didn't score a touchdown until I think it was the third quarter maybe the fourth it's already a very different feeling game the offense comes out and the defense has come out and made big plays there's a big hit on the kick off the turn see what we got here be careful about the run there he is does get in he gets a seven yd pick up on that back out in the I form formation here they're going to Auto out they feed the back again oh it couldn't get out there ooh there's a flag on the play out going to come back number 77 for the blaz had a good gain there and will have to over theing now important second down play coming up it's going to come back back in the eye formation here could be run to the outside as run to the inside no not an inside there's a play action and they do get the completion over the middle off the the tight end track route is the perfect option for offense looking that position open for some ex another nice run and he gets four yards there and they're kind of taking a little bit temp [Applause] noing around the on the Jet Sweep try to get a Jet Sweep going but they don't get very much now we come right back out here we are third and seven this not where you want to be against this defense third and long want to switch to the right and quarterback's under pressure and we get in for the sack again this time is number 45 I believe coming off the Right End gets to the quarterback and pulls him down 55 that's Johnny Florence Phillips and somebody says something to this offensive and defensive line The Trenches look a completely different right right now and so this going to be a punt the Blazers having a hard time getting going now and University of North Texas is feeling pretty good and that's set up a return was a lane the ground here comes the north Texas offense back on the field they punched it in the last possession can they do it again will this defense make some adjustments to get a stop there's r he gets five yard defense di up they're unable to get the Back Field running DT Sheffield has one1 on the outside we may test it here he is we're going to go deep can DT get there he will and it's the touchdown grab for DT Sheffield and the mean green score a second time this time going deep a much different okay that's the last time I say this game is different 14 to zero Garrison Surman putting the ball out in front of DT Sheffield he had one man uh to beat no safety in the back and the question was could he get in front of his Defender and he did and then the ball just need to be put on time and it was TouchDown for North Texas to the lead now with the p 14-point lead extra point is good the stretch lead a little bit more just so you know if this is going to be one of those games where we score like 80 to 12 I will score 80 to 12 we we we I hate that we lost to this team in the championship and so I do want to smash them I like that very much that's good cover there out the field okay first and 10 up had to kick it away can they come up with something here off the play f looking to throw quarterb I Target I thought it was going to be behind him somehow he grabs that hold up did he did he reach back or something let's take a look uh the ball hits hits him down low I thought I was behind him he reaches down and grabs a good catch [Applause] first and but not up for a first down so now it's third and short from the 43 and they keep the drive going or caps face a tough fourth down decision breaks loose at the 45 tackle made after a big game the Blazers are moving quickly down the field great shot here by this offense being able to convert let's face it they DG themselves a hole they're down here early in this game with all this height the last thing you want to do is have to punt the ball come up with the conversion keep your Rhythm keep your momentum stick to your play good job here keep that [Applause] R third and four on the uh with about 7 seconds left here in the first quarter it's probably going to let this run out no they're going to follow play there's a quick throw and he does get enough for the first down that's going to move the chains and scored 14 to Z at the end of the First with UAV moving into scoring position maybe just outside the Red Zone and the UAP Blazers R number three Nation we'll see if out of right now quter beginning right now about time this offense gets going it's a first and 10 from the shotgun an inside hand off stop him behind the line for a loss of one offense operating no think we got to watch for a pass here no they're going to go with the run and nice open field tackle there he gets the third and one UAB trying to run the ball here football games oh and they throw it behind them and it's not going to be good enough they try to get the quick screen and it's not going to work okay so now fourth and one and they're going to go for it they want to tie this game well not tie it but they want to cut into into this lead can we can we stop them oh he had a person but we couldn't get there the safety comes up and makes the tackle I was worried that they may try passing it instead of running it and the quarterback drops back looking for an open man looking right the play and let to call him I think they're going to get him with a face Mas first time I've seen a face mask in the long time maybe the first time ever in this game offal catch thaten the off gets a first down the blaz looking like they're going to go ahead and punch this in first and goal on the three oh and it's a touch down the player Defender is not there to break up the pass and a good reception by number one breaks through and gets their first score of the dayari Thomas get the work quarterback has time they throw a quick slant and he does a good job of shielding off the defender to get get the catch and now they'll set up for one point [Music] after kick is up and it is good A Little Closer UAB one touchdown away cannot relax it yd line so has to break forward couldn't get there almost though 23 yd line we're going to come out in our own eye formation quick ragdale only gets one jble toing down quickly second down after that is play easy here's the snap quarterback drops back a a big hit by the lineer able to knock him down and the tight third and one love to see the big man get his quarterback barking a few commands and he get there on the ground ragdale still up does get the first down did a lot of fighting just to get maybe two yards nice to see him it out trying to stay behind his offensive lineman and bounce over boun over bit the previous play quarterback appears to be changing the play second down going to throw it and looking for a big play oh nice job by the defender it's third down looking for sides deep and we didn't get it third and nine for on third drops to throw there's the pass and it is caught and Derek sheer there is an injury this receiver has just that combination U andal that is a nice nice grab and a first down that was a big one third and eight or third and nine there a runner oh braxdale has it going to lower his shoulder and fall here try to force a field goal attempt looking to pick up the first down through Carrison going to try it and he's almost in I started the dive keep we didn't do it another third up for open there he feels like to meam we've hit him a few times but we've uh probably underutilizing him in our offense and the return starts just inside the all right let's see what we got we're going to try something different we going come out in a 3 four I don't know if they're going to continue to run the ball but may not be the best idea they're coming out with the pass and they get a time out let's see yeah we're we're going to do the same thing didn't love it probably going to give up some more yardage here but going to try out the 3 four4 second see if we can get some more pressure oh and they get us again underneath pretty much we call the same play and they got the they call the same play to run the hurry up on First and 10 they'll look to throw it that's intercepted nice play that's number 23 I top of it Bryce that's who it is Xavion Bryce the uh defensive back of the of the Year makes his presence felt with an interception back out there now offense protecting the lead here but playing so well let's see if they go I think we're going to try size on the left side oh throw the ball the is made that's a nice uh he double clutched it for some reason there's a nice sack by this defense something that they've been looking for they've been on their heels most of double clutch for some reason now we got second and 19 still going to go deep to try to catch it oh he reaches his hand out and can't get third down 19 try one more shot not only thats that up into the going deep to Sheffield there he is and we do get the first down and they'll butat 50 seconds left and we would love to score effici love the score here looking to throw the ball there's a throw and that's a first down no that's not he drops it second and 10 ball stop uh clock stop 43 seconds drops back from the shotgun looking for an [Applause] open a tight end and third and four is the call 34 seconds but the quarter's ACC and the size of the ti end up a nice game out of the gun now on third down incompl like I was in position okay so well we should probably play in 21 seconds left want to make sure that they points they don't score more got to be thinking about going for this on Fourth and we did think about going for it but we didn't do it Turner out of play Blazers offense takes the field now it'd be a surprise if they took a risk here the final seconds of the first half backed up near their own End Zone they want to run the ball and with 11 seconds left we see if they decide to hike the ball we probably w't going to go into half with the score 20 oh no we do get a hike and we oh there's a don't let get oh he finally gets taken down and it's okay we don't you can have the yardage you know what we're accepting it because we don't want you to have the yardage and that'll end the half though 21-7 UN in the lead DT Sheffield with a big plays today five targets four catches 119 y one touchdown DT making his putting his step on the game already again a very different game a very different start every part of the team playing a little bit differently maybe they just got Shell Shocked by being in the UAB Stadium I don't know what it is but or maybe they're just hyped up for the Revenge game but there's BT straighten down the left side and he gets the touchdown one more touch here going over to DT he gets the catch and it's brought down will be moving on to the next round of this college football playoff kick is will kick this away to start the second half kick is a little short out from inside the 10s of bounds right at the 25 yd line here comes the north Texas offense back on the field first and 10 first play of the drive going to throw the football room to run and he's going get out of bounds after he gets enough for the first outs it Mo the stick more than enough for a first down guys up line up it's first down and the quarterback dropping back on the run here let oh man that's a terrible throw he throws it a little bit better he can turn up the field that second down from the shot drops back another run there's Garrison with space and he's got more yardage on the ground last game he had five turnovers he himself responsible for five turnovers this time he can run the football hold on to the ball a little bit better they need with the pressure they look like they're in good to be able to come up to drags and I think the quarterback may be a little bit tired we're going to have to run the ball a little bit B second down play coming up for this [Applause] offense hand it off oh big run good enough for rag not going down [Applause] [Music] easy on first down they'll keep their running game turn another one he get a little stiff arm action about 5 minutes left they are looking for the run [Applause] here really want to try play action but we're going to go ahead and stick to the Run we might lose some yardage though going to run it here oh he's got enough speed no he's not going to use the any yard touchdown no answer for this offensive machine so the offense lead here in the second half SC 28 to7 I was trying to understand what I was looking at with the uh with the animation there he just kind of threw the ball down I hadn't seen that before so s i put the hitch there offensive run comes through pretty big I thought they were lined up to uh to play The Run and we still got what we needed tled at the 17 J by the coverage team UAV offense is back out on the field now they had some good things going on the last drive but it ended suddenly with the let's see what they can do here there's the Run oh runs right by as he gets the draw play and hits up about six takes the hand off looking to throw there's the throw and the safety is there to make it difficult we want to come into this play here want to come out into 335 see if we can live in this formation for a few plays o third down and they get the short pass and it's going to be fourth in inches and they won't take a chance they're going to pun in another good run a good uh stand by the defense and the returner decides to Signal fair Catch and the mean green offense is back on the field now this has been a dominant performance so far of double digits at the break building good job by of Defense there was only two of them over there and uh they still made a play from the gun for an open man there's the tight end he's got room tries to split the defense first down off the arm first and first and go the ground back takes the hand off don't have much there the what's the playful here on second down for this offense spider two spider there's the snap looking to throw the ball he's moving out of the pocket oh big hit I should have decided to run or throw I was holding out I thought I had Sheffield coming across the the field and the defender actually ended up following him pretty well it's another another play that we waited too ahead go for this four and defens coin of finally find a way to affect the timing between the quarterback there a throw to K care of the ball no and that's the end a paying attention to the clock that's the end of the third quarter norack is in good position to win this game and move on to the championship if they can just hold on for one more quarter and look at the UN fans they never thought this would beep true that they would be in the hunt to begin quarter as the sets up first andal for a national championship kickoff team is out on the [Applause] field and field Turner trying to create a big play here he 19 good job by the coverage teamu here comes the UAB offense back out there they were held to a quick three and out last time looking have put together a positive drive here first play of the drive they'll come out throwing the catch down field and the throw to the left they do get something come like has in a premium for these guys wonder where plays like this have been all game long off the play fake looking to throw on first down quarterback has to throw it out of bound he was under pressure oh got slow him down and win the football game if we don't could be a long afternoon good job here by dialing up the pressure this time it's complete nice tackle they find a guy on the right side and they may try to run this ball so we are going to uh Play The Run third and three come out in the 3 four formation quarterback has to throw it oh my goodness that nice play Under Pressure we got to him and he still was able to release it and get it to his receiver for the first down four 5 minutes and 20 seconds left in the game and they come with a reverse but we are not falling for number 32 is there Ethan wasowski there to make the tackle run the football I'm all about balance I'm all about trying to make defense second and3 throw at Point the game they haven't been able to run the ball they're going to have to go through the air take a lead in this game still the second time they try a reverse and it's a no go all right we step back a little bit cut back the counter or reverse that time they stayed home and were in perfect position they were able to stop that reverse in its tra and they have to throw the ball away but now it's Fourth and 19 what do they want to do byter step back a little bit wants to bring pressure if I can it kick the if they thei he to the it is O almost tipped and caught in the end zone but falls to the ground and the defense holds four minutes in the game and we may try to just do enough to keep this clock moving and knows maybe even see that's how you limit what an off wants to do this time the defense just W the battle up front at the line of the better team and after this one that's a nice throw and that's a nice catch Harrison Surman completely different wants to be a reason for the win he's got it on the ground he's got it in the air caralin for no game Bo the defense does a good job of pressuring the quarterback but really impressed with the quarterback's effort not only is he pull out of that he's able to get back close to the line of scrimmage ooh good route CAU can he get in first and go but he doesn't get in and can we stop him this the last play 5 4 3 2 1 they're going to try it oh he was right there and then you get a touchdown at the last second man but it's okay they can score at the end and feel a little bit better about it but we do get the W are we going to still kick it yeah we areow doesn't matter no time left the game is pretty much over and Ladies and Gentlemen The Mean Green is going to the National Championship having won Beach B Coach B Jackson in two years has already made enough of an impact to get this team to the National Championship Garrison Surman comes into this game 269 total yards four touchdowns and coach got this team ready for this Revenge game Landing sze as you see there big plays DT Sheffield big plays deep the ker rag there also was a pretty big uh had a pretty big showing and there you have it the the uh Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl trophy belongs to the north Texas main Green in 2005 42 to4 over our shortterm Rivals we'll see if they continue to be a rival for us or not but uh a big game before a big game congratulations me green you did it Garrison serir 15 for 27 four touchdowns 269 yards over 100 yards for Ragsdale nice job by him two touchdowns for him DT Sheffield with the big day in the air and you had Lon s also contribute with two touchdowns and then BJ Allen the free safety he's the team in tackles uh alongside Xavion brce Brian Nelson and David spru big win these are indeed exciting times as we figure out how we're going to End Game Recap/Recruit Update man what are we going to do I'm I'm curious who we're going to who we're going to face off against who will it be semi final playoff game winner congratulations you have won a semifinal game all right let's see who it is going to be [Music] PJ Allen Jr gets the player of the week and I think he deserved it it was only a couple games though right so the likelihood is high but he had a he had a great week Garrison stman stepping up into his into his own I'm telling you this guy is going to be a big name for this dynasty in the coming years and there we have it the north Texas mean green will face off for the national championship against the USC Trojans very interesting let's take a look at the staff we looking at a particular coach and we do hire our guy we get Bruce virgin can come in and be the offensive coordinator for us I wonder if uh um I wonder if we could have waited I kind of wanted to wait he wasn't the the best uh wasn't somebody that we were like really really excited about but was I know might me some of the best of the of the lot there okay so what do we have here now well we have uh we only have one thing to do North Texas and USC play for all of
