[Music] good morning and welcome to living local 15 thank you so much for tuning in today we have a great show for you actually we have quite an adventure I am taking you inside of pages Crossing which is an activity theme park filled with fun games for the whole family from go-karts putt putt a golf driving range and I try out their baseball batting cage for the first time did I hit the ball you'll have to watch and see and later we are exploring all things eugen's restaurant has to offer out in Wabash are you ready let's get started fashion food and fun you're watching living local 15 with your host Jessica Williams [Music] I am here at Pages Crossing located in Columbia City they are full Fun Zone offering everything from go-karts a driving range rock climbing and also a batting cage I'm taking you on this adventure let's do [Music] it joining me now is Kaden polling the park manager hi kayen Hi how are you good how are you good okay so you probably have a really cool job being able to be over this really fun place yeah yeah so tell us all about Pages Crossing um so we got multiple different attractions here we've got a really cool arcade uh that's new and updated uh mini golf courses we have three different mini golf courses uh top Tracer driving range which is kind of like Top Golf if you ever been there um brand new batting cages um and then we got rides and go-karts as well yeah and you all have been in the Columbia City Community for 30 years which is great and so tell us about just the vibe here as people individuals family come to participating uh yeah it's a really great uh place for families to come have fun uh we do a lot of corporate events uh uh company parties they come out and uh do Employee Appreciation days uh to show their appreciation for their employees so we get kind of a group of a lot of different people that come through our Park yeah okay and so kind of break down a little bit more in detail each of the areas so behind us we have the racetrack or the the go-kart track and people just come do they compete with each other do they just go in rounds by themselves um you can go around by yourself you can get with some friends you can race uh you can do about anything it's a 4minute Race So you got 4 minutes to do whatever you want out there okay great and then in between I see that there are some rides and then also over here so talk to me about the ride options um yeah so we have three different ride options at the moment we've got uh frog hopper which uh goes up and kind of bounces you back down um Himalaya which is is kind of more like a kitty coaster um and then we have our twister over there in the middle uh which spins around and then you can spin your cart around as well okay and then I see here a nice wall climbing how high is this you know I I don't know it looks pretty high from where we are standing and so um it looks like it has about four slots that people can go at the same time kind of get a little competition going you can we we've seen a lot of competition yes okay and then inside you have your arcade and so um what's one of the most popular arcade games in there uh one of our most popular arcade games um is really any of the claw games okay uh so we have one in ticket Rings um that's a really popular one we see with uh a lot of the kids in there and then we have uh an Avengers game which is kind of like uh uh coin drop game that's another popular one uh even with adults okay yeah people like their prizes and then over here you have a batting cage and that's cool I don't think there there are many batting cages here no there's not many around the area uh we're one of like the only places I think there's maybe another place in Fort Wayne um and we just got brand new batting cages uh just they opened about last month so nice have you gotten in there I have I tried that is fun okay so now let's talk about the golf options CU you have two different types the pup put so um what type of layout is the p p call um so there's three different courses we have a b and c a being the easiest and C being hardest um so you can kind of challenge yourself or go the easy option uh whatever you prefer okay and then the long was it called the long range uh driving range driving range oh my goodness like you said kind of like Top Golf which is so fun and so people how many slots are there uh we have about 20 slots um we have 10 up top 10 at the bottom um give or take a few um and then we have uh 20 Bays with our top Tracer technology so that's a a ball tracking technology tell you your ball speed um ball distance carry all that stuff so yeah that's really cool so in addition to people being able to come out and of course enjoying them themselves you actually have events that take place or concerts right so tell us about your concert we have Thursday night concerts uh throughout the summer um we'll be wrapping that up here at the end of August uh every Thursday night we have food trucks that come out uh we have vendors that'll sell uh their goods baked goods um freeze drag candies different stuff like that um and then we have our bar um for our adults and then live music of local bands yeah and then you have an event center as well right so people can rent it out yes we have an event Center that uh can be rented out uh that's where a lot of our company parties are held uh we offer catering uh for company parties and then they can also bring in Caterers as well okay that's so fun lastly talk about how the tickets work so people can come and buy a ticket for the entire traction or is it separated um so you you can kind of mix and match uh you go on the arcade you'll get your tickets if you just want to do go-karts you tell them you want go-karts and they'll load it on a card for you that says Pages Crossing you'll take that down there and you'll be able to go on go-karts um and that works with just about anything here so okay thanks for coming to w bash listen I'm happy to be here this is such a cool City and I know you all have a lot to offer especially in the art and the Performing Arts to be specific and so we are here at this wonderful restaurant so why don't you give me a little bit of background about it I will and thank you for mentioning what we do our concerts and our theater that's kind of our what we're known for but you know we also do some great food and beverage here at Honeywell Center and we are at eugenia's restaurant and Eugenia that name is the name of Mark honeywell's wife okay that's where that name comes from and so we named a restaurant after her and so um what we have is every um day we're open for lunch from 11: to 2: and you're going to get to experience some of that great food in just a minute uh but we and we we we basically change the menu twice a year okay with the seasons kind of a spring summer and fall winter and you're going to be experiencing uh the spring summer today yes I'm excited the menu looks so good and I like the color and just the flare that you all provide and so the way that you all interact because we are actually inside of the honey well Cent the way that you interact with the shows you also offer show and dining or dinner in a movie essentially that's right so we call it pre-show dining so if you come for one of our great shows you say where am I going to eat and um we provide a great pre-show dining experience right here yeah and uh you come and you the greatest thing about pre-show dining here is there's no stress once you're here you're in you're eating nobody's wondering oh oh I got to I got to walk somewhere to get to the show you're here and people just find that very relaxing it and we um we actually do it buffet style but I would say upscale buffet style and we have different we change up the offerings um quite a bit for each show yeah that's so great and so with you being over Hospitality overall I know that you all offer so many different um venues and this facility so kind of give us an overview of what else Honeywell has to offer here yes well it's a great question you know the Honeywell Center itself is it you know has other PRI what we call private event spaces um didn't always start out that way because this was built as a community center okay uh but we have several here we own and manage the Honeywell house which is just up the street beautiful on several Acres so there's really it's a really a beautiful place to have an outdoor event or as well as you know an event inside the mansion gous and then the Eagles Theater which is just right up the street even though we do live shows there and movies there's also a ball room on the top floor do a lot of weddings up there so it's a you know multi-property operation with I would say um things for everyone um you know if if if having a a wedding at the Mansion isn't your thing it might be at the top going and getting married at Eagles Theater right on the stage and then going up to the Ballroom for your reception oh I love that so many options something for everyone and one thing that's cool is that um you offer so much more than the ey can see and I heard that you have a skating rink here oh my gosh how did you hear about that top secret it it is secret you have to have a secret code it's like a Speak Easy down there so yeah you know that's the one of the neatest things about the Honeywell Center is that you know it opened in the early 50s but people have been coming here for a long long time and back in the day down there was where all the kids went and there was a cafe and a place for them to skate and um the cafe isn't there anymore but the ring still is and we have some special Pro like in the like during spring break we do spring break bash and part of that is we open up the skating rate for kids in the community and it gives them something to do and we do that several times through the year oh that is awesome well sounds like a lot of fun is happening you can almost book a private SK I can be like you're like I want in on that I'll give you my card you can book a private skating party okay okay I have the secret code to get in and that's a good workout too by the way yeah skating well it's gotten real it's gotten real popular again yeah no it's fun well we need a workout to work off this food that we're about to tast you have no idea well let's sit down and give it a try okay [Music] the fun continues at eugenia's restaurant and I am here with Chris route who is the vice president of hospitality all right you ready to have some tasting fun I am well after after doing all that skating we're hungry yes we got to run down there real quick work out on yeah exactly okay well I'm thrilled to try your food as I said I really love the pop of color okay it's really fresh and it looks healthy too which is always good especially for lunch that's true I mean people there it depends some days you're totally stressed and you want a burger and other days you're like I got to be good I got to get that salad right and we just make sure we're ready for anybody in any mood any mood I love it well let's start actually I'm going to pour me a little sparkling water yes which looks very fresh and delightful and we're going to start with a burger you are I'm surprised I got to Dive Right In yes you are girl okay so talk to me about the burger what type of meat how do you all prepare sure so um when um when we look at a menu if you're going to have a burger on the menu it it's got to be good and so um we um going into this menu we we looked at what kind of burgers we were um using previously and what we're using now but this you know we I want you to know it's a it's it's a it's a burger that has about 20% fat in it okay so that we keep it nice and juicy okay um and it and I also wanted to make sure it was big it is Big yeah so it so that's why we call it the hunger Burger so if you're really hungry then this is the burger for you so we went with a we went with a 10 oz um Patty instead of like an 8 oz Patty which you get at most places and uh and we cook it medium unless somebody says hey I'd really like it well done we think a little pink in there um keeps a lot of that juiciness in mhm so good good very juicy yes thank you um what type of bread is this this shabata so it's interesting that that bread is actually gluten-free I love it nice and crispy has a warmth to it but the bottom bun is actually has a softness to it so it's a nice balance that intentional well here's the thing the when the burger is sitting on that bottom bun some of the juice is Flowing down into that burger and so if there's ever a part of the bun you're not going to eat just get rid of the top because you want the bottom with all the juice in there right that is so good okay well we went big so now let's go a little bit lighter tell me about this dish what is it called so it's called the Baja Cod bowl and fresh Cod and we pan fry it um and we put it on top of of course this is part of the trio of rice bowls that we have for summer put it on top of rice some um SL uh Co saw that we make in house some mango that you probably see in there as well and it comes with a Southwest Crema on top so a little bit it might have a little spiciness to it you might detect that um a lot of people like to squeeze a bunch of lime on it um and then we also serve it with some soft tortillas um if somebody would like to make their own fish taco you could just unroll the tortillas and put all your pieces together yourself yes this is quite tasty and I normally don't gravitate to Cod okay so this is a really fun and delightful way I'm going to go ahead and get some of that mango you were speaking of and so with the white fish you know people like white fish but a lot of time it's it's it's hidden um in the fryer right they put a batter on it they put it in the fryer and that's great fishing trips is great cuz we have that on the menu but I think that a lot of people don't get the true flavor of cod unless it's it's prepared in this type of fashion and this is grilled it's put in it's actually put in a frying pan yeah with some oil uh uh maybe a little bit of butter okay and uh you like but yeah because that gives it that crispiness right so it just pan Sears it or I say pan fries it even though you know it's not in a fryer it's still in a frying pan but that gives it that beautiful golden brown color and that crisp that we want but it's still um very juicy and um flavorful in the middle so tell me about the other bowls that you all offer so the other bowls are there's a green goddess Bowl so if you're really if you're really like Green Goddess dressing asparagus um edamame it's I would say it's the healthiest Bowl they're all healthy but if that's the healthiest if you want green all day long do that one Green Goddess um the other one is either a blacken shrimp or um chicken bowl um that um also has a a little bit of a um uh you know a little bit of a SP like a that's blackened so it's got a little bit of spice to it good yes and you nailed it with the lime that lime everything yes okay so the last dish what is this called This is called our mandarin salad so Mandarin because of the Mandarin oranges as you can see that gives it this beautiful color um and it's it's Roma lettuce we also have some slivered almonds and ramen okay that we take that Ramen and we just squish it up of course we have a glove on but we squish it put it on there and and it gives it this crunchiness you know that you wouldn't have otherwise and then we put just a beautiful piece of grilled chicken on top so you get your protein right protein is really important so this particular this has been a crowd favorite uh because it checks all the boxes I'm getting my greens I'm getting my fruit I'm getting my protein and guess what I'm getting my Crunch and they love that and uh so it it's good and this is a sesame Ginger yes I was to ask tell me about this sauce so I don't know I mean it seems like to me for this kind of a salad like if you don't have some type of Sesame or Ginger you know it just it basically what it does is it just punches it up mhm so that is so good what I really love as you said the protein is good to have you have your green but then that crunch did you get takes it to the next level yes and then the sauce on top wow yeah I this is I I I think it's um our team our culinary team designed this and we are just so lucky to have such talent here at Honeywell and they've done just a great job I couldn't be more proud of them yeah that is awesome well the time has come for me to do Jessica's favorite pick okay all right I think I know you think you know let's see oo this is actually going to be hard okay drum roll this the manderine salad was that going to be your guest it was cuz you went on about the crunch you know what I mean and I was like I know that's the one she's going to pick yeah and then the dressing mix it kind of gave that Tangy everything that you need but I like the other options too this is
