Mielle Organics CEO Monique Rodriguez Responds to Backlash!!!!

hey y'all what's going on listen wait let me turn this dryer off because I'm deep conditioning my hair hold on I don't want to uh have it interrupt the show all right so um I made a video yesterday please go check it out about the mayel Organics a controversy with people claiming that um Michelle what was her name Michelle Rodriguez oh my God I don't know um I'm I'm bugging out right now now I'm tired um she's the owner of myel Organics and people are claiming that her products are breaking off their hair causing irritation they're having a lot of side effects and a lot of people are speculating that this is due to the acquisition of her company um by Proctor and Gamble and as I mentioned in my video yesterday often times when companies acquire small smaller companies when the big companies acquire smaller Brands the purpose is to scale up and along what comes along with scaling up in manufacturing is the change of formulation because you want to scale you want to drive production cost down and drive um Drive uh oh my God why am I draw in a blank you want to drive productivity up and um make more money basically that's I keep I'm missing the word I'm trying to say profit yes you want to drive profit up and the cost to produ to produce Goods you want to drive that down and often times that comes with changing the formulation adding preservatives adding adjuvant adding chemicals that slow the growth of um bacteria and products because the fresher your product is they can't last on the shelves when they can't lost on the shelves you as a manufacturer have to throw a lot of products out because you won't be able to sell them in time in that small time frame um that they are good on the Shelf okay so companies add elements to products to prolong the shelf life long enough so that you can buy the product okay and I'm we all know this is what happened here I strongly believe this happened here I have never heard of complaints with Mel's products um causing hair loss and irritation it actually was a staple in the ethnic and textured natural hair community along with Camille Rose along with um adua that's another brand along with um uh what are some the TG um so myelle was up there now not so much and so a lot of people were calling her out um because she has not responded well today she responded and let's see what why do I keep calling her Michelle let's let let's just go guys it's been a long ass day for me I I can't do it anymore let's go I hope y'all can see this may or that's not what I want hey y'all those that know me know me I'm still involved from the formulation to the packaging to the design I am still involved I pour my heart into every detail because this is my passion and I'm dedicated to continuing to drive this business forward our products are created with healthy ingredients and they are formulated to deliver safe and effective results we've always taken great care in ensuring the quality of our products and that commitment has never wavered so if you have any doubts I encourage you to explore our labels from 2019 to 2024 you will see that there have been no formula changes when you look at the with amazing high quality products and empowering our community to shine all right um so Mo'Nique Rodriguez maintains there has not been a formulary change however I do not trust big business big Brands big Pharma I don't trust them at all so you know who how can you tell how do you know how can one prove that a company has not added something to the formulation without having to test the products for that for that Target chemical that you're looking for someone would have to take the time to go and test for what and sometimes you don't even know so first of all the whole point the whole point number one is identifying what was added so you'd have to go through a list of all of the chemicals known to cause hair loss and hair damage and identify the brands that have used them before right number one then number two you'd have to go and test some of the myel products post acquisition to see if that chemical is in there so it's like you are looking for a needle in a hay stack this is going to be hard to prove so her and it's illegal yes but listen a lot of these companies are doing illegal things why do you think why do you think we listen we live in such a litigious society and with good reason because it's after it is after the claims are made and then investigation occurs that's when lawsuits come about so there would have to be some kind of class action lawsuit where with people who like swear by like like can can demonstrate that these products are the reason for the hair loss for any law firm to go and and and and spend resources to try to find the culprit and then if if that's true if the labels do not ref reflect accurately reflect the ingrediences that myel organic is in big trouble but again I honestly feel like because most of the people using these products are we're were a minority you know a lot of things fly under the radar they don't take it seriously so unfortunately we as people of color black people we're going to really have to hold their feet to the fire there's a lot of educated people of color out there law firms lawsuits get your lawsuits ready have evidence show and clearly demonstrate what is going on for this to be taken seriously and for some investigations to occur to say no you are lying your formula was in fact altered and it's causing harm to people that's what's going to have to happen but until then I mean we see claims look um see people are talking about in the comments here she sold it to Proctor and Gamble I want to be by her side because I've been using since 2018 but I got alopecia last year and my hair thinned out and has bald spots that I had never had before we don't know see it could be coinci we don't know could be coincidental I don't know if it was myel but it's a little scary someone else me too all of a sudden having clumps of hair falling out when ma'am a lot of people suffer from hair loss and alopecia okay a lot of people can be suffering from it and all of a sudden they see myel and then now they jump on the bandwagon see this is a very hard situation to judge see even me so um so my daughter's hair I noticed her edges started thinning out I noticed my edges started thinning out I don't really use my yel like that I just use like I showed you yesterday the the Hawaiian Ginger um leave-in I think it's Hawaiian Ginger something like that I use it sometimes I did notice my edges were thin out however I have been been wearing a lot of tight I've been getting my hair braided I cruise a lot and every cruise I get some kind of braids put in I attribute it to my braids you don't know as people of color as black women a lot of us will get braid I don't get braids a lot only for vacation but I have been doing it more recently because I am out here in these Cru streets in these Caribbean streets so who's to say if it was my I use it more often in my daughter's hair both of my daughter's hair one daughter like I said yesterday her scalp is extremely extremely dry flaky okay um but it we we are also coming off the heels of summertime my kids here at my condo complex we have a a pool they've been swimming Non-Stop and also their their scalp because the way I comb her hair her scalp is kind of exposed it's it's exposed to the Sun so if I'm not not moisturizing their scalp it's going to flake it's going to get dry and Flake off sometimes if you put product on your scalp as well it'll flake see we don't know my other daughter whose edges were were breaking off she wears a tight ass swim cap so now what did I say I didn't quickly attribute it to myel I attributed to the tight swim cap and the chlorine seeping into her edges what am I doing now now that summertime over I'm getting her on a more regular regiment and I'm going to grow her hair back out again it's genetics her hair will her edges I'm not worried it'll grow back out as long as I stay consistent keep her hair clean and moisturized same thing with me I have apy in my hair as we speak I need to be on a more regular regimen so for me personally I can't blame myel totally because there's other factors these women my hair broke off I cried I was growing it for years okay elaborate what else is going on in your life someone else it made my son scalp break out so badly I had to take him to a dermatologist I've been hearing this a lot a lot of people are seeking um help from dermatologists specifically the myel pomegranate and honey I can only use the Rosemary mint oil once a week all right look at this she used it in her son's hair maybe a lot of boys don't use myel maybe she used it and he's allergic you know a lot of boys don't really use hair products like that some do but not as much as women she says she can only use the Rosemary mint see a lot of people are complaining about the Rosemary mint we have someone here that can use it people are different in my profile picture that's my hair before my L not my hair now oh now my hair sheds badly not to mention the balding I have now I thought I was starting preop pause I went to the doctor and turned out I'm not all right um so I was using my old products Faithfully because I love how my coils popped it was your products wow does mayel have a clarifying shampoo I don't know so you know what okay some damage control Maybe mayelle I don't know she may she may not maybe she needs to have a hair care Channel on YouTube she might I'm just saying that shows people with her products because her products offer a lot of slip they do they're highly moisturizing they offer a lot of slip so again like other people have been wondering I'm wondering too are people properly clarifying their hair to remove all of the buildup on their scalp that's another thing I haven't heard of a clarifying shampoo maybe she does I don't know um she came out also with a new line the rice water relatively new to me rice water is a strengthening it's it's like a protein if you use too much protein in your hair your hair will dry the hell out and break off are people not using her products properly so maybe I don't know she needs to have an education Channel with the purpose of each of her products CU if you're using one line Faithfully like the pomegranate honey that's highly moisturizing like I said yesterday you cannot stay on stay using moisturizing products only you have to balance it out with protein so you know for me the jurry is still out um people are commenting about the packaging has changed since the acquisition it's very industrial it's very you know it's not it's not pretty anymore um I have been buying myel since the beginning me and my daughters have no issues with any of the products I will continue to use them unless any issues develop keep your head up see this lady might be practicing proper hair care you know we don't know someone else callus my hair to fall out literally threw all of them away why is my hair thinning and falling out while using the rosemary oil I've been seeing a lot of this maybe Rosemary doesn't agree with someone with some people I didn't even really think about it but my hair is thinner after using it regularly you know what and that reminds me let me go take away the rosemary oil for my daughter she uses it too rosemary oil does cause shedding you know what um I have another comment to make I used to to use also a lot of ayur ayurvedic hair products and I remember one in particular I could never find it again it smelled oh my God it's it it didn't smell good however when I tell you that made my hair grow so fast y'all and I can never it was called doth or something like that I can never find it this was back in college I used to go to the corner Indian store I bought it when I tell yall my hair grew like I'm going to go look for it I couldn't believe how fast my hair grew but I did shed a lot too so keep that in mind a lot of oils that do cause your hair to grow shedding Will O will naturally occur your hair is growing out a lot of people your hair has a lifespan some people's hair can grow but only up to a certain length like your hair has your hair is set for a certain length until you know it sheds it it's it's done it's dead it's it's it's gone past its its life cycle right and my hair was growing so fast there was shedding I do remember but that I got to go find it was called doth or something like that but so that's another explanation the Rosemary oils making people's hair grow but with that often comes shedding my hair was so bad I had to do a big chop very depressing was losing my hair in chunks okay guys so we get the point people are still getting at Monique my thing with this she needs to do damage myel organic hair products ruined my hair you heard me ruined my hair I started buying their products back in like November 2022 and I know this because it's all in my like Target app I can see when I purchased things and I used it probably up until this year and yeah completely ruined my hair I couldn't figure out for the life of me what the issue was I got a blood test done to get like my hormones checked and stuff because my hair was shedding uncontrollably breaking falling out just a complete mess and I finally realized that was the one product in my hair routine that changed and that I was using consistently throughout this time period that my hair was just transforming for the absolute worst so yeah thanks myel Organics for that um I've seen other people on Tik Tok talking about their hair falling out breaking shedding I even try to insert some pictures in here of my hair this summer I took braids out y'all my hair I had a clump of hair probably this big come out of my hair I had the braids in my hair for a week for a week okay um it's just so broken so damaged and every time that I would wash my hair or do my hair that's how much hair would come out every single time so I've resulted to now that my hair is a complete mess and tragedy I have to go cut all my hair off yeah I've cried about it I've made my piece about it at this point but it's just so sad that you don't even know and realize when you're using these hair products that this is what's happening to you and to be specific I Ed the Rosemary line the oil and the uh leave-in conditioner never had scalp irritation never had flaking never had any issues with my skin or my hair from those products that would tell me or alert me to know that these products are an issue for my hair before anybody says that so yeah I just wanted to get on here and let y'all know if you use those products and they work for you cool but to the people who use those products and your hair has started falling out breaking all these other kind of things yeah that's the issue the products are the issue and stop using them ASAP i' I've stopped using them for a few months now and yeah I my hair I have to get it cut off and I'll even show youall my hair it looks a mess but this is what my hair looks like now it's like so thin at the ends and everything the top part so damaged broken off I look like I have bangs I never cut bangs in my hair this is literally yeah I never cut bangs in my hair these pieces of hair used to come down here and you see where they are now so yeah oh God W I mean I feel bad for these women her hairs still look kind of thin from I mean uh they were a little I don't know man what do y'all think who has been affected by myel anybody ber ber who has been affected um I'm still I just I don't know this is this all one big coincidence or was there in fact a a big formula change that was not disclosed to the public y'all what do you think about Monique's uh you know response to all of the backlash is it enough you think she's bullshitting y'all you know you think she's
