was right there that two- count and watch him go back to being crafty the fast ball up was a little bit of an issue for him last year he's developed the ability to go and get that and now it's a 31 count they have a little league Home Run Derby here as well during the week and the kid that won it is on deck for Florida Landon Bono the catcher has yet to hit a homer during the tournament way World Series for decades bringing teams from across the world this is the greatest form of sports diplomacy it brings people together and these kids are having so much fun and and it's just great to see these will be lifelong friendships made right here in Williamsport so really really proud of the work the state department has done over the years I'm a huge fan of all you do because we have done a lot with the sports diplomacy that you reference in the importance of having these kids together from different countries different cultures I mean you see it here at the Little League World Series every year but you see it on a daily basis and all that you're doing and why Sports when you talk about that diplomacy well there's so much that divides Us in the world today I know that Sports brings us together and I think about the next decade in the United States the Olympics in Los Angeles the FIFA World Cup the Olympics in Salt Lake City we've got this great opportunity to bring people together in a way that we haven't done before and I just think this is a way to transcend Vision these young people are so special and young boys and now girls are are doing amazing things on this field and it doesn't have to be in the World Series it can be on Ball Fields Across America which is what my experience has been so again just so proud of all these kids from every corner of the world proud of the department at State Department for bringing these people together proud of the Little League World Series and all the people of Williamsport who make this happen each year Well living it Derby you can see they move the fence in a little bit The Boys winner landed mono playing right here for this team from Lake Mary and the girls winner was really putting on a show Sophia Silverstein I mean it was just mashed potatoes one hop in the far wall she was just absolute cooking we haven't seen a female like her ever here at the Home Run Derby over 6,000 kids from across the country participated in local competitions ahead of the championship here in Williamsport with each participating League receiving an equipment donation from T-Mobile congratulations to everybody including that guy who finished third last year and this year take two wins it all great look at lomy the hill that is so famous for people bringing the big pieces of cardboard and sliding down that's the top
