JT: THE BASEBALL ACTIVITY HAS SLOWED DOWN A LITTLE BIT. I WILL COME INTO CAMP TRYING TO BE AS PHYSICALLY READY AS I CAN BUT I DID NOT HIT AS MUCH IN THE OFF-SEASON AS I USED TO. I'M NOT AS READY TO HOP INTO THE FIRST GAME IN SPRING TRAINING AND GO FULL BORE GAME ONE AS YOU ARE WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO MAKE THE TEAM. TRYING TO LEARN MYSELF. I JUST TAKE IT A LITTLE SLOWER. I DO NOT MEET THE SIX WEEKS OF SPRING GAMES TO BE READY FOR THE SEASON. IT TAKES ME A FEW WEEKS AND I AM READY TO GO. HAROLD: I SEE YOU HAVE THE GUNS OUT GETTING READY TO DO YOUR LIFTING. WHAT IS YOUR WEIGHTLIFTING PROGRAM IN THE SPRING AND DURING THE SEASON? YOU TAPER OFF OR DO YOU KEEP GOING ALL YEAR ROUND? J.T.: MY PROGRAM -- THEY WRITE THE SCRIPT FOR ME. DURING THE OFF-SEASON IT IS A FULL SCHEDULE. SIX DAYS A WEEK. ONE SPRING HITS I DO SIX EXERCISES A DAY EVERY SINGLE DAY. ONCE THE SEASON STARTS IT DROPS DOWN TO ONLY THREE EXERCISES. IT IS THREE EXERCISES EVERY DAY AND I HAVE LEARNED THAT KEEPS MY BODY AS FRESH FOR THE LONG HAUL AND I FEEL BETTER LATER IN THE SEASON DOING IT THAT WAY. HAROLD: YOU LIFT AFTER THE GAMES? J.T.: EVERY DAY AFTER THE GAMES. AFTER EVERY SINGLE GAME THE FIRST THING I DO, I GO STRAIGHT TO THE WEIGHT ROOM. IT TAKES ME 15 TO 20 MINUTES. IT IS JUST A WAY I CAN STILL GET MY LIFT IN AND STAY STRONG.
