PSA FUTURE HOF REGISTRY PICKUP-FREDDIE FREEMAN

[Music] hey what's going on Sports carts fans Ray from Philly here it is Thursday night August 29th and I picked up a car for one of my PSA set register it's the set registry that I like to call the it's it's not I'd like to call it's what it is called PSA future Hall of Fame set registry and what that entails is rookie cards of players that aren't in the Hall of Fame yet and if this player if if a player from that set registry does get inducted into the Hall of Fame then they'll move it from the future Hall of Fame set registry and that card will be the card representing in the in the postwar rookie Hall of Fame set registry so all the cars that you see that are already in the post-war rookie Hall of Fame set reg registry uh most likely got started in the future Hall of Fame set registry the future Hall of Fame set registry lately has been getting some um criticism and deservedly so because there's a lot of cards that are in that set registry that kind of doesn't make sense to be quite honest with you um years ago if you were a PSA member PSA would uh would P PSA would take suggestions from anybody out there of cards that should be added to that future Hall of Fame set registry PSA would then accumulate all of the people that made suggestions send those suggestions out to members and then we would vote on it I remember I would get cards to vote on uh a couple times a year asking yes or no should this card be added to the Future Hall of Fame set registry um they stopped doing that about two years ago now PSA has a department uh for set Registries that determine to make to see if a card is should be put into a certain set registry you could still email them and or go to their website and uh select a card to be requested into the say future Hall of Fame set registry their Department then will take a look at it and determined so for example um there's a couple of cars that are in the future Hall of Fame set registry now that I requested and they voted on it they did PSA and got it in uh the 2012 tops update Bryce Harper rookie for one um I put in the TOs Chrome JT real Muto rookie as a suggestion they haven't got to it yet I called them about a month ago and they said they're behind on taking on new cards to be added to the set registry so it's going to be a little while for them to look at the real Muto rookie um but that's how they do it now years ago they would ask you to vote and we had more of a say on it but now it's totally different but anyway on to the pickup for uh this player is currently playing so all the cards that are into future Hall of Fame set registry aren't necessarily current players they could be retired players like the dayve Parker um you know the Pete Rose rookie so forth or their current players this guy is a current player who I think is on the right path trajectory of getting into the Hall of Fame and if I can get his sleeve open here it's a can't see where the opening is for this there you go usually they have the the opening on the on the top of the core and they have it on the bottom so okay and it is the 2011 Topps Freddy Freeman rookie card in a PSA 10 so this is the card that is in the PSA future Hall of Fame set registry is uh let me move over here is the 2011 Topps Freddy Freeman rookie so and there's the back of it nice looking card but in my opinion I I don't know what really determining are they picking Flagship tops card if that's the case then all the cards for that are going into the future Hall of Fame set registry should be the flagship tops cards but sometime a player might not have a tops card so they might only have a Bowman card like Joey vad his card in the future Hall of Fame set registry is a Bowman card which makes sense because I don't think he has a tops Flagship base card from that rookie year but it just it's it's inconsistent they'll take a they'll pick a tops card now or they'll pick a tops Chrome card or a score card I mean it's it's kind of all over the place but I I nonetheless I still really like this card in anyway uh and it's a 2011 Topps which is 2011 as you guys guys know is loaded with rookies especially the tops update with the Mike Trout rookie and you know you have the Altuve but we're going to go to the uh PSN a set registry now and put this card in the PSA set registry for the future Hall of Fame okay so as you can see here this is the future Hall of Fame set registry first I'm going to add this card to it and the picture should come up a it of it because it starts with the number eight so it's very recent so PSA has taken G pictures and I'm pretty sure I should see the picture oh it's I'm sure it's in here let's go down and take a look yep so here's the picture of my card as as you can see it it's a it's actually a really nice looking card uh it's a great you know action shot of him playing first base all right so now I'm going to um share the screen and go to his uh career St his career stats on baseball reference okay so he currently you know he's 34 years old he has 2,242 career hits 338 career Hummers his career batting average is right on 300 uh 1,2 16 career RBIs he has a 59.9 war so what do I think in as far as Milestones goes I think he has a shot at 3,000 hits I don't think he'll get to 500 homers there's not too many players in the hiss year of the game that are in both the 3,000 hit and 500 home run club uh just off the top of my head I know it's uh Hank Aaron Willie Mays Eddie Murray Alex Rodriguez rafhael pal rro Albert P holes and Miguel Cabrera so there are seven and I don't think I'm missing anybody else the last player that had a shot was Adrien bele he got the 3,000 hits but came up a little short in 500 Hummers I don't think Freeman will reach 500 Hummers he's 34 years old he's actually having a little bit of a Down year this year 128 hits 17 homers um he still has a month left in the season so let's see if maybe he can get to like 23 Homer his average is down a little bit this year 284 uh RBI is about the same 73 RBI so he has a shot at the 100 100 RBI season started his career as you know with the Atlanta Braves in 2011 uh this is his third year in a row now he's been with the Dodgers let's look at his Hall of Fame monitor if it's above a 100 that's really good and it's 130 so that's really good his Jaws is fif his uh he's Hall of Fame standard right now he's ranked 23rd all time according to Jaws at first base he did win an MVP and eight-time Allstar um surprised he's only won one gold glove I think that's probably because of Paul goldshmid taking up a lot of the gold gloves uh he won his MVP in the year 2020 so great player so as far as the Milestones like I said uh I don't think he'll get the 500 homers but I do think he'll he has a real really good shot at 3,000 hits if you go down to his career numbers what he's been averaging is about 181 hits a season he's not getting that this year he's at 128 so I think he'll probably finish it around 140 something hits this year so he'll finish this year with around he's got 2,242 hits uh I think he'll finish this year somewhere around 2262 hits and then next year if he gets a if he averages he's not going to average 181 hits a season uh I do think he can average around 140 150 hits so if he plays four more years till age 38 150 times four more years is 600 hits and that should get him real close to 3,000 I think he'll finish with a little close to 2,300 by the end of this year 150 hits a season gets him there at 2900 and then who knows he'll probably at that close there's no doubt he'll stick around to you know get to uh 3,000 hits and there he have it so let me know what you think yay or nay on Freddy Freeman I think he's a yay I think because he's I think he's got a better shot than gold Schmid uh Goldman's a little older and I don't think Gman has a has a shot at any of either one of the Milestones of 3,000 hits or 500 homers although I still think Gman has a good shot of getting in the Hall of Fame anyway but Freeman has a better shot I think Freeman's had a a great career so once again let's get this in Focus there is the 2011 Topps
