Introduction it's Sunday welcome back to part 2 of my bat relocation project and we're doing it with a beer what I'm gonna do I'll give you a recap between what happened on Part 1 you can go back and watch it I'll have it linked here um at the end of the video um so that you can find it really easy so I have an office area that's over here it's in the garage and in this wall there's a post just like this but there's a board that goes down here that seals it off so let me show you the inside the sides so in this corner spot and there's one in that corner too it's probably hard to see with the the light outside there's a post and the bats go up and down in here and then there's a post that goes across the ceiling here they go under that and they go up and down in this area unfortunately I'm starting to get that urine and Coco coming out from the bottom and that's not good so I decided to do a relocation project and get them to leave the area to get them to leave this area you have to seal up all the entry and exit spots so that the bats only have one spot to go in and out of and basically I was going to use this mesh to do that and to be honest it worked pretty good the problem is I have to staple it in and not it's not that easy to get the stapler in certain spots up there so then I decided to go a different route and you're gonna see how I did that what I did is I decided to use foam that expands to fill in the gaps where I cannot get this into Using foam to fill in the gaps so the scary part is I do not know how much this expands so this could turn into a mess but good thing is when it dries you just cut it off so let's see if we can see where this gap is at and what I got to fill this will be on the outside of the house but let's see yeah so this is the area that's the they've been getting in and out so way back in this corner and I just could not staple stuff in there so gonna fill it with foam I just hope they're not back down in that area but I think they can get out so we'll see alright I think it's formed up enough so we'll see okay it's all formed in see if I can give you guys some shots of what it looks like that area has all formed in all the way up to the top all the way to the back and then along along that edge all the way back into that corner and of course on top between the outer wall and the beam there I also sprayed foam when it dries the stuff on the outside I'll cut off and see go outside as you can see so like those spots up there up there all that stuff I'll cut off so you can't see it it'll be below the the edge and they won't ever go back in so I left them an opening right there they can get out there and I've seen them come out there so I'm not too worried so we'll see what happens the next couple days tonight at about 6:10 it's gonna be bat watch again I do it with a beer so it's at least halfway fun so on the back corner which is over here in this wall The found another spot to get in! like I said there's a 2 by 4 week call in America 2 by 4 there's a piece of wood that goes all the way down and there's a piece of wood that goes all the way down here and so what they were doing is climbing in they were going all the way down and somewhere down here in the bottom inside inside the wall there's a spot where there's a gap between this 2 by 4 a piece of wood that's there that allows them to get in to the other side so I'm going to go up there this morning because it's 65 degrees and they're really active and I know they're gonna come out this morning and I'm gonna staple it in I could probably put a piece of wood in there you'll see what I mean when I get up there but um that's a lot of extra work that's a final fix maybe but for now the quick fix is this and the staple gun okay I gotta go over there this is what I'm talking about that's foamed in they can't get in there however right here they're going down and way down there they're getting in I don't think you're gonna be able to see This is wear they are getting in. right at the end of that blue cable they're crawling into the other side so that's where and there's no way for me to plug this hole with foam I'm going to put in some of this mesh it's not working for that point in zero okay what do you think I think I'm going to win today alright stay tuned They are back and looking for away in! haha so after fixing the back corner with the with the mesh this stuff right here I started watching them and interesting when I fixed that back's corner the first night there was five or six bats over there and they were mad they were trying to get in there they're scratching and digging and stuff like that and I thought I'd won but I didn't and all of a sudden I heard scratching again one morning wasn't a lot and turned out it was only one bat so I put the mesh on and they stopped going in over there then I heard him in the wall again They found a new way in. or at least like I said there was one and guess what on this side same thing I don't know if you can see but there's nails right here these nails represent where there's a piece of wood goes and he was flying in going all the way down to the bottom and crawling in I'm gonna show you the mesh that I put in I turn on my light make a little bit brighter and let's do this so this is where he was coming in he basically land right there crawl over here and go all the way down to the bottom Fatty the one bat that won't give up and you saw in the video that that little fat guy that was him that was going in here so I put this mesh in and then I started the bat watch and every day he comes and he lands right here and he just sits there I feel bad for him too because I know he wants to get back in there but he can't get back in and now that it's been warm and it's been three days and I haven't heard any any bad noises any scratching no nothing I'm taking this mesh off it's right there and I'm taking that tube of pipe off and I'm gonna fill this in with foam this is the phone we're using Filling in the last hole. I won. what's up our bat relocation project will be complete and I have one I don't know what the score was for the bats because they were winning quite a bit but in the end I won and I'm glad because they're still in the area they're still coming back and trying to get in so I know they have another home and I also know that they're eating bugs because the little fat guy that shows up is pretty healthy looking Cutting the foam off. Clean up. you know gotta pick this stuff up because Maya choose everything pineapple Pineapple cachaca abacaxi so we're done it's all sealed up no more bats anyways I hope you enjoyed this video if you have bat problems this may be in the help I know there's a lot of videos out there on YouTube that explain this but I think you have to figure out what works for your situation and come up with a solution but the mesh worked really good for where I had access but where I couldn't get the staple gun in there I had to come up with something different so thank you for watching appreciate you guys see you next time
