what's up Noise by Noel representing right here Eugene Oregan in the house shout out to the Ducks what's up Dodgers D from Rancho Mirage so settle into the chat we would all your big big takeaways and of course every episode starts with the Dodgers Dugout poll question of the show I asked you guys over on the X did the Dodgers make the right move to DFA Jason Hayward and right now 54% of you say yes while 46% of you say no and after the show yesterday was talking with a lot of people it's pretty clear what's going to happen next as far as Jason Hayward and we talked about it right when it happened on the live stream that I didn't feel like it was likely he was going to return so we're going to get in on that next here on the leadoff the hottest story in Dodger [Music] baseball so the big news yesterday Jason Hayward DFA kind of pulled a Craig from Friday got fired on his day off unfortunately and you hate to see that because Jason Hayward is as respected as anyone not a big vocal leader but someone that young players can go to if they need anything just his presence alone has a big impact on his teammates of course he's Freddy Freeman's best friend he's really close with mookie bets but the first big takeaway I'm just going to answer a lot of these questions I got after the show and the first big takeaway I have from yesterday is the Dodgers are not letting their emotions get the best of them when it comes to making decisions about the Rock ER they could have easily said yesterday you know what Let's Kick the Can down the road we go up to Jason Hayward see if he wants to go on the I he's been dealing with a back injury All Season he's been dealing with a knee injury and you could easily throw him on the iil you have Miguel Rojas he's dealing with a hamstring injury you could have IED him you could have found a way to keep him on the roster until they expanded on September 1st to see if he with another opportunity which would been limited could maybe impressed enough to make his case for the postseason roster but what the Dodgers did yesterday is they sent a message and that message came from Dave Roberts a couple weeks ago when he said the best players will play meaning the best players will be on this roster and the cold hard truth is as much as we love Jay ha he is not one of the best 13 players on this roster this was a no-brainer decision and always said what must be done immediately should be done and I think when it comes to Jason Hayward this was not only for the Dodgers but for him as well the fact that you do this now that gives him time to catch on with another team before September 1st and be a fourth outfielder be a bench bat for a contender look the Atlanta Braves they are slim when it comes to outfielders they're thin at that position he could catch on with the Braves and he's going to to clear waivers everything I've heard he's going to clear waivers teams are not going to pick him up and he still owed $1.8 million and when he does clear those waivers he could either accept an assignment down for the Dodgers tripa a and go down to the Myer leagues which he's not going to do because he can refuse that because he has the service time the requisite service time five plus years of service time right he doesn't need to accept an assignment so what's going to happen with Jason Hayward next is after seven days he is going to clear waivers and he is going to be able to sign with any team and when he does that and just a little rewind if you don't know when you DFA a player you have seven days you can either trade that player remember how the Dodgers they DFA Ryan yarro and they got Kevin km and then after that he's released or put on waivers he's going to be outrighted and he's going to clear those waivers they can release him they can outright him he is going to be able to sign with another team and when he does that the Dodgers will pay the remainder of that $1.8 million salary and whatever team picks him up will pay him the pro-rated of the league minimum which is over $700,000 so yeah if you're the Dodgers if another team claimed him great you save some money they're not thinking about it from that standpoint but what are the top reasons why the Dodgers ultimately moved off of Jason Hayward I want to answer some questions that I got yesterday that we have more clarity on now now I said this a couple weeks ago the minute that Muki bets went back to right field it was the beginning of the end for J in LA because you lock up right field you have Taos herandez in left field they're going to be playing Almost 100% of the time at the corner Outfield spots and then on top of that the other position you played center field you traded for Tommy Edmund who's going to be your everyday center fielder and then you acquired Kevin kerm who has been an incredible steal an incredible pickup in his role Kevin km I'm not afraid to say this Kevin km is the best offensive player I've ever seen put on a Dodgers uniform he's that good Cody Bellinger in 2020 he was great he rob Fernando tatis Jr Fernando Tait Jr Mr Ring Worm cream he robbed him of his lunch money he changed that series but this version of Kevin km he clears he is that good he is the best Dodgers Defender we have ever seen and this is a guy in his last season who has already said he's going to retire but the throws the range the way that he can track down balls play balls off the wall leaping catches there is nothing that Jason Hayward that can do that Kevin kerm can't so even though Jason Hayward is an above average defensive player he can't come close to him in center field so what anytime you put a six-time gold glove award- winning right fielder back in that position who's an MVP bat they were just a limited role so that really is what it comes down to so even if he continued to have success in his at bats Off the Bench where this season he's four for eight as a pinch hitter Jason Hayward did have that three-run home run off of Andreas Munoz and that was 99 up in the zone not an easy pitch to hit yes he does have some pop in that bat but still you're talking about limited opportunities so they could have said let's find a way to keep him on the roster keep the clubhouse happy keep Freddy happy Jason her might be happy nope what must be done eventually should be done immediately and then last season another reason he still hasn't had the same success this year as he had last year last year hit 269 had a 120 weighted runs created plus he had 91% of his plate appearances against right-handed pitchers and he's still an above average bat against rties he can still provide that but this season those numbers dipped he hit 208 was 9% below League average 91 weighted runs created plus so it's not like he was an asset this season and I think one of the big misconceptions out there in dodgerland right now I've seen side by-side comparisons I've seen a lot of tweets on the X I've seen things on IG this wasn't a Jason Hayward vers Chris Taylor thing let me tell you that right now that is not what this came down to it was because one Jason hayward's role is diminished we talked about that so when someone's playing your position 100% of the time you're not going to be playing there he's a right fielder whose position is occupied by an MVP in Muki bets they weren't going to start him in center and then I think the best case scenario that you can make for Jason Hayward if you're a Jason Hayward truther out there that's upset that he's not on the team you can call Andrew fredman you call Brandon Gomes you call Dave Roberts and hey hey what he's bring some pop off the bench right bring some pop off the bench truth is six home runs in 197 plate appearances 9% below League average now as it stands right now Kevin kerme would be your only left-handed bat Off the Bench but the truth is this isn't the Dodgers roster from a couple years ago where you had a lot of platoon options outside of Gavin Lux potentially maybe down the road where if you bring back Andy pz which they intend to do Andy pz will be back on this roster in early September and Andy pz is on the bench in the postseason yeah you can use Andy pz against a left-handed pitcher when it's Gavin Lux to spawn the lineup in a key situation or theoretically you can can move Muki from right to second base sit Gavin Lux against a lefty and have Andy pz in right field so those are some options we can talk about too but really the point is there was not any platoon options for Jason Hayward and if you're going to have him pinch it from Miguel roas you're going to have to make multiple switches because he doesn't play the shortstop position so there's that now the other thing I hear Too is he dmac wait wait why not wait until September 1st well guess what what I've heard Chris Taylor's ready Chris Taylor looks good and Chris Taylor could help this team and they want to get as long of an evaluation period to assess what Chris Taylor can bring to this team so if Chris Taylor is ready right now you have to give him his opportunities because Chris Taylor is going to be facing the same problems that Jason Hayward was going to face in that there's not a lot of opportunities for him to play when Max M was injured you could say Okay CT or DK at third that could work but M's back M looks great he's your everyday third baseman short stop you better options Miguel Rojas Elite with the glove Edmund Elite with the glove they're handling shortstop second base Gavin Lux has been a top eight hitter in baseball since y all are bre Freddy Freeman is Freddy Freeman at first Outfield where does he play maybe you can give Tao a day off occasionally I think that's what they're going to do a day off occasionally you can see him in left left field and then some pin [ __ ] at bats so that's kind of the issue there is that even if you kept Jason Hayward until September 1st how many ad bats is he getting until September 1st two three maybe you get mooki a day off he gets one start but let's not forget this is a team that's in a pendant race this is a team that currently has the best record in Major League Baseball and with the way they're schule lines up with their lineup as it stands right now it's a really good chance the Dodgers after all of this all the injuries they finished with the best record in baseball so you're not going to not put your best lineup out there so there's that as well and I think for me let's say you want to say okay Chris Taylor versus Jason Hayward I think people are focused too much on Chris Taylor's struggles early in the season and not as much with how he looked before he went on the iil with that strained left groin now you know I bring my facts to the fight and if you look at Chris Taylor's numbers early on the season it was bad right CT three I mean you're Chris Kaylor swinging Miss Chris I heard all the insults in the chat and yes he was not putting up good numbers these were bad when he was batting 77 I mean ct007 I mean you guys were really really riding him hard and first part of the Season hit 95 198 on base a 107 slug a 305 Ops and a minus four weighted runs created plus so he was Nega -4% below League average offensively through his first 36 games but made some swing changes refined those mechanics and since June 6th since June 6 before he went on the iil with that groin injury Chris Taylor was really turning things around in his last 29 games before the groin injury he was hitting 238 with a 351 on base and a 425 slugging percentage the way to runs created Plus at 121 And even if you jump a couple weeks ahead I mean he was below League average when it came to a strikeout rate the hard hit rate went up significantly too I mean first part of the Season he was striking out at a 39 . 2% clip walking just 99.3% of the time but since the adjustments that walk rate has gone from 99.3% to 19% the strikeout rate for Chris Taylor has been almost cut in half from 39.2% to 22.2% that is a big time turnaround also the hard hit percentage has gone from 18.8% to 37% since the swing adjustments Chris Taylor said I feel like my mechanics are in a spire where I can have the approach that I've wanted to have the past couple of years I've always thought about just hitting the ball to Right Center that kind of puts me on everything before the last couple of weeks when I was thinking that I was underneath and missing now I'm in a spot where I can feel I can go back to that approach and it feels like I'm myself again he said it's been a process for him and it's more about the quality of that bats and moving the ball forward so that's very encouraging and it wasn't just for a couple of days was just for a couple of games it was for a month for a month of games Chris Taylor was at bat that was a 21% above average at bat so this is not some charity this is not some favor to Chris Taylor this is because they think that he can be an asset so let's not forget that Chris Taylor can help the Dodgers more than Jason Hayward if you want to go that route Dave Roberts told us a couple days ago reports have been good he's healthy I think the thing for Chris is he's got to hand the fast ball it's got to be a swing that works well enough to not play every day but to come off the bench and take good at bats so that's going to be the role and whatever that looks like he's done it before and that's what I'm looking for he's certainly a mechanics guy but once we get him back I expect him to be back and be ready to help us because we're going to need all 26 guys to be productive on this roster and so far in his rehab he's gone 6 for 18 with two doubles has four RB in three weeks down there for Oklahoma City and Rancho Cucamonga so all things are trending in the right direction and then of course there's 17 million other reasons why he's on the team is because he's still under contract for one more year the Dodgers owe him over $17 million remaining on his contract they weren't going to eat that so hey that's not saying that Chris Taylor is a lock to make this roster but he's certainly going to get an opportunity if Chris Taylor comes back and it's swinging Miss Chris if it's Chris Kaylor if you want to use those names if he's hitting like he was for the first couple months of the Season he will not be on this postseason roster but he certainly has earned an opportunity to get a shot and that's certainly what the Dodgers are going to give him and I think it's funny how things change right last time the Dodgers lost in the postseason what everyone tell me in the chat hey dmac we need postseason dogs dmac we need guys that can hit in the postseason and what happened with Chris Taylor a guy that's hit three home runs in a season game against the Braves I got to hit the Wild Card walk-off against the Cardinals in 2021 against Reyes a guy that started the World Series off that they should have won if it weren't for the cheating trash throws when he had a leadoff bomb against Dallas kyel in game one of the 2017 World Series I remember that my friend Joe megazen poured beer all over me after that we're up in the reserves it was good times it felt like I was right in the world and yes last couple postseasons hasn't been been great but still if you're looking for overall track record 7 years 16 series and 805 Ops nine home runs and 13 doubles in 250 plate appearances that's nothing to scoff at OCT Taylor is certainly a thing we've seen it in the past he deserves a shot this was the best move now one thing I want to say though I'm not no there's no locks you guys know me I mean I separate the emotion I want to win I want this team to win the World Series Chris Taylor could be a piece to that puzzle but I think you look at the roster right now who are the locks sh Otani I think has a pretty good shot to make this roster in the postseason pretty good player going to win the MVP mookie bets really good shot as well okay let's stop now I'll give myself some br br but you got Shi you got mooki you got Freddy Tao Smith Lux Muny Edmond Barnes 10 locks Kik is lock adjacent I mean I don't know if we got to get a stronger prescription on that glasses on that lens for the last couple weeks because the numbers have dipped since he exploded after putting on the glasses but I think that he's definitely in line to make this team and then with the 12 spot Kevin kerm I'm loving me from Kevin km I mean it's love it first side with me in this guy the way he plays what he brings I asked Dave Roberts after the game a couple days ago about Kevin kerm and how big of an impression that he's making and what are his chances to making this postseason roster here's what Dave told me Dave how big of an impression is Kevin Kar mid he he's been great um you know I mean on the field defense obviously you see that um the tough at bats the grindy at bats he doesn't mind being in the nine hole understands his role um you know impacting Gavin and other guys how they play run the bases those things are are tangible things and so he's a veteran player and I don't know I heard earlier that he was contemplating retiring after this year so this is a guy that this is he's emptying the tank and so there's a refound joy energy and uh it it's affecting all of our guys and how much of a push is he making to stick on this roster even when everyone's healthy he's making a very good case um so obviously C is coming back so um we still got to you know talk through the off day and see how things are going to play out and this watch is going to look on the position player side a little different on Friday so hey there's a a good indication that Dave gave us a couple days he said this roster is going to look different on Friday and it certainly already does let's get some chats here we got danat tonic a 199 Super Chat dmac can I get a bruh fire take and you win man all three of those I got you my man what do you want first let's do it in you got the bruh first bruh you with the fire take fire and we'll hit you with a what was the last one the U you in Street Fighter guy yeah we got a uh we got a myy pitcher Ronaldo y Thro and hadin down the myy we'll talk about a little bit so that Kik that Kik and Kevin km that puts you at 11 and 12 players and then the 13th spot is down to Chris Taylor Andy pz and Dalton rushing yes I'm throwing it out there Dalton rushing and I to I threw it out there during yesterday's show and for the people that say oh wait a minute we need a left-handed bat Off the Bench that can rake uh have you seen dlan rushing have you seen what he's capable of yes zero experience but he's special dlan rushing has a special hit tool he could certainly help this team will they give him an opportunity I think the big question with Don R rushing is this do you rush him up do you give him an opportunity in the show or do you do what you see we're going to do and bring back up Andy pz because the issue there is when pz comes back up he's not going to get every day at bats he's not going to get regular playing time so you have to take advantage of those pin [ __ ] opportunities come through in those spots certainly think that P has the opportunity to do that but with d rushing 15 games since being called up he said 300 down Triple A he's got 946 Ops the issue though is if you call him up do you stunt his development you stunt his growth because he's not getting consistent every day at bats that is the most important thing for minor league hitters after they've made an inseason jump is you want to see as much pitching as you can as many different looks as you possibly can now you could call him up on September 1st and that way he'd be eligible for the postseason roster or you could let him stay down Triple A continue to rake continue to get better and then if you wanted to you could still kind of find a a little glitch in The Matrix to get him on the postseason roster by having him fill in for an injured player and you can use anyone that's injured a godlin I mean whoever you want to use you could theoretically use that as a way to include him on the postseason roster you could go that route if you wanted to find a way to get dton rushing on the postseason roster so I'm just throwing it out there that you can one not call him up on September 1st and still get him every day at bats down Triple A and still have him on the Dodgers postseason roster and then two see what Andy pz does in those limited opportunities because I'm still very bullish on Andy pz Andy PES still can bring a lot to this team and you look at Andy pz this season versus lefties think 337 against lefties has an 871 Ops versus lefties so that can provide a lot of value issue for him though he plays right field that's his best position that's where mukie bets plays so how could you find at bats for Andy pis well you can use him as a bench bat late in games you can use him for Gavin lux's spot potentially versus ay or you could bump mooki to Second and have Andy out in right and that way if you're facing a left-handed pitcher let's say you're going up against Jordan Montgomery in the nldd or something like that it's something to consider I doubt they do that we're going to see mostly mooki and right but this all goes back to the optionality man you want those options and that is what he provides so it's going to be a very interesting battle I think at the end of the day it's going to come down to two things does Chris Taylor hit like he has in his last 29 games if he does that here to tell you Chris Taylor is going to make this postseason roster does everyone stay healthy that's always a wild card as well especially with this team but Kevin kerm needs to be on this roster I will be absolutely Furious if he's not because defense wins in the postseason late in games and he's been productive at the plate he's only 6% below League average at this point after having an awful year at the plate with the Blue Jays So based on what Dave told me it feels like they're very high on Kevin km and you can pretty much pencil him in at this point can't right and Sharpie but definitely you can pencil him in at this point I think that he has to just fall off a cliff offensively provide absolutely nothing for the last months of the Season you got you got you know a little over a month of the season for him to not make this postseason roster so it's going to be a battle Taylor pz wild card is rushing but let me ask Down Below in the comment section who do you want getting that final postseason roster spot for your Dodgers you want Chris Taylor you want Andy pz or Dalton rushing we got Rick OTE I wouldn't be surprised if Kevin changed his mind about retirement he seems like he's having so much fun playing absolutely I mean he is having a good time give you a little we give you a fire take for that one for sure because yeah absolutely I mean he has revitalized his career he's already said the Dodgers have pumped life into him he's for the watch man he doesn't look like he's ready to retire either and if he has some crowning moments in the postseason some big time plays and he hits there's going to be people out there going to be interested in his Services maybe the Dodgers will be interested in his Services because they haven't figured out the center field position Andy pod won't be playing there James Alman hasn't been able to hit you have Tommy Edmond next season but Tommy Edmond can provide some versatility because K Hernandez is going to be gone Chris Taylor's under one more year of on his contract but Philip Falon ct3 postseason success helped the decision as did his versatility and his hopefully his tweaked approach on his rehab my dream ct3 gets that big hit and makes the great play in the playoffs sh I like that you're doing that little Daniel Hudson sh right there I like that right there you know you bring up a great point because we saw Gavin Lux turn his season around why wouldn't Chris Taylor a guy that's full season peak has been higher than that why would he give his opportunity especially when you consider the fact that he was having that kind of success so it makes all the sense in the world Michael night 1966 says rushing and pz take Barnes off the roster hey first of all you go to Clayton Kershaw and you tell him that Barnes is off the roster you know these guys love Austin Barnes is as as funny as it gets in the in the uh in the Dodgers Clubhouse and also you need a backup catcher of course you could hash let ke catch that's not going to happen Austin Barnes let's not forget who caught in game six of the World Series it was Austin Barnes Austin Barnes game calling is as good as it gets he's a clubhouse leader and honestly he's been pretty good the play too Austin Barnes has been good Austin Barnes disrespect this year come on now come on Ray stto give me Lux Edmund Kevin km at the 7 through N I like that Ray give you a little let's go Dodges for that one we got Nathaniel Le J ha patches on all jerseys for the rest of the year still the right move hey he's not dead man okay he's not dead first of all and you got a nice little graphic for J will always love you and hey honestly I hope he continues his career but I also think it'd be cool if he did decide to retire he would be just the third player in big league history to hit a home run in his first at bat hit a three-run home run for the Braves in his first at bat and hit a three-run home run in his last at bat doing that with the Dodgers that'd be kind of cool uh Christopher um leaving off Jay was the right move being a cool guy in the clubhouse isn't enough I'd rather have a guy people who hate who's good rather than likable who sucks facts over feelings okay you bringing the heat right there little fire take facts over feelings hey look I don't want to be that guy right because everyone parrots the same take about Jason Hayward from 2016 the Cubs were down it was raining the Cleveland now called the Guardians don't want to get canceled and what happened Jason Hayward rallied the troops and that speech meant everything the they went on to win the World Series and end their World Series drought I also want to point out he hit 150 that Series so he was three for 20 that Series so not hating on J Love J but as you point out production matters it's a performance based business and limited role not enough production hey man it look it was a nice little uh parting with him and Freddy Freeman they had a nice little Year together last year and this year too Pika peep says Barnes best game caught on the roster he's not getting moved lol felt that LOL Bro I feel like he really laughed like in front of your laptop right now Martin do you think they will resign Jack flarity hopefully for at La at least three years or two look I mean everything I've see from Jack flarity I like I think I'm still waiting to see the dominant Jack flarey that we saw that put up top five numbers with the Tigers but he's given them consistency he has gone at least five innings in each of his four starts he went six one start we had the 10 strikeouts against the Pirates but Jack flarity is still I think going to pitch his best baseball in the future with the Dodgers I don't think we've seen the best of Jack flare so far with the LA 322 e really nice the whip a little high at 1254 he was posting a sub one whip with the Tigers that's up to 1254 but first of all give me that that swag man The Edge that he plays with that dog that he had going up against Randy Ros Arena Rose R was crying after getting hit with a 91 m per hour Sinker when he had two strikes on him is a lead out batter dog he was not trying to hit you Randy Rose Rand was mad because he got traded to the Mariners and not the Dodgers and he's been slumping ever since what also I know that I know my man uh Noel likes him because I mean he's honestly I think him and Yamamoto and he's right after the have you seen his pregame fits yeah yeah he's fresh he's clean with it he's clean he's pretty clean with it for sure yeah what's deir mean like I I oh deir I I think I'm maturing because I look it up you know not you're not very deir D no you are Amir you're very de I feel like people are misusing that word yeah I don't you did you watch the show last week when uh we learned what torto means yes Tony definitely knew what Tor was yeah and I got I'm here saying I love delicious toras and people are telling me I can find in the left field Pavilion so I like we in the left pavion cuz the last time ick I didn't see any toras at Dodger Stadium the the best wet t is intier there's a spot iner I got on really yeah real good but is show Tani show that's a good one I saw this I saw Tony say that in the chat ear hey but on the topic of um Jack flarity man that that that game was really really good I really really liked everything that he showed seemed like everybody was really happy that he didn't back down I also like the the response that you posted that he said after the game he said it's all respect it's all love between him and Randy and even though they shared words in the moment you know they still respect each that's the way it's got to be you know they got to you got to have that fire during the game and then once it's over you know that's it you don't got to be too extra no for sure I mean I think that that's respectable and then we asked him too he said hey what what do you say to Randy Rose ran he said you know what I'm going to keep that between the lines like I mean look man I've been at like LA Fitness pickups where I'm yelling at guys more than that you know what I mean like it was just a cool opportunity to see the bullpen clear The Dugout clear you were telling me you know it gives you Rockets Russell Westbrook Vibes he gives me Westbrook Vibes and general honestly maybe it's to zero but just like the way he carries himself he's like he keeps it chill keeps it cool with like you know the fans but he honestly would have been a better fit on the Lakers than Russ I know that hurts you to say that hurts me because I'm the big I'm the biggest Russ fan but hey he does wear zero for Russ and Tatum so I think that's really cool but you know as far as resigning him absolutely think it's on the table especially when you consider that Roki Sasaki someone who the Dodgers were definitely going to go all in on you know my take Roki Sasaki is the Dodgers Paul SK I think that that would be the case there but Mark feinan he dropped a piece on mlb.com addressing this topic about Jack flare and the possibility of where he could resign and he had him as going to possibly the Mets which the Mets need pitching and I think two the Red Sox so he had the Dodgers Mets and Red Sox as options for Jack flarity but I will say this what the Dodgers have going for them for Jack flarity is he loves being at La it's his dream to pitch here if he has a successful postseason I could certainly see the Dodgers bringing him in remember a couple years ago we were like oh where's ber going to sign is it going to be ber Seager belly Julio which one of these guys we going to sign sign none of them they're either out of the league not playing for the team so absolutely they could IB stro is a dmac the Tora Slayer the fire take right there um step brother dmac a $5 Super Chat says I've been thinking about this and I would rather the Dodgers get the second seed so we can play the Brewers instead of the Padre's or the Dbacks you know what that's a good transition right there I'm going give you a let's go Dodgers step brother dmac got dmac junr step brother dmac and I will say anytime you face a division rival in the postseason it scares me wake up at 3:30 in the morning in a cold sweat thinking about a match up with the Padre's and the Dbacks because it feels like they have nothing to lose you always got to be scared of the guy that has nothing to lose and 2022 they slayed the dragon they beat the Dodgers that had just won 111 games last year the Diamondbacks they beat the Dodgers decimated pitching staff but still you got swept by the Dbacks but 2021 the Dodgers they'd be the Giants in a five-game series against two teams that one had one 106 games in the Dodgers one had one 107 in the Giants the Dodgers took that series but if you look at where it stands right now the Dodgers are at the top in Major League Baseball and if you look at the standings as of today as of right now heading into tonight's Series against the Rays the Dodgers they are right right at the top and it's a beautiful thing sitting at 76 and 52 one game up on the New York Yankees a game and a half up on the Phillies in the National League and if you look at the seating I mean if the Dodgers are two you're right I I mean if you could face the Brewers that would be a more favorable matchup but as it stands the Dbacks and the Padre's if they finish at the top would be facing the Dodgers the winner would face the Dodgers it's like hey man NL best right got the NL West they have the NL best right now and you face a division rival in the postseason one thing that they have as far as an advantage is both teams are extremely familiar with the other and yes you have some new pieces with both squads and yes you're not playing each other 19 times it's 13 times now within the division but familiarity is a factor they're familiar with your Stadium they know the the Dodger Stadium crowd they have more match ups against your pitchers and your relievers and their pitchers have had more matchups against your hitters and we saw in 2022 the Dodgers were 14 and five against that Padre's team and they lost to them in four in the DS so I don't think you intentionally lose you're not going to tank for two you're not going to tank for the Brewers but I think the way it shakes out you definitely would give yourself the best chance to have postseason success and by doing that you kind of you kind of tempt the baseball Gods a little bit okay we're not going to see Brent Honeywell starting for them in a game because they want to just throw that Series so they can face the Brewers that's not going to happen you don't want to tempt those baseball Gods but it's going to be really interesting interesting because hey man the nlds NL teams the NL teams have had a lot of success man and it's definitely a a world where the Dodgers are 2011 since the All-Star break and they're cooking right now so I I wouldn't say that I wouldn't drop them but it's interesting to we got Cedro what's up Dodgers Nation from London oh nice we got uh refreshed from a 3:00 a.m. start time today all right man that's hey you got to get it baby got to get get your T and crumpets and your Dodger Dog over in London toown we got Andy Padre's have an empty torta case yeah emptier than the aisles the toilet paper aisles during Co we got the dmac if Miller implodes again tonight do you still give him more stars from Ro Estrada I think it depends on a lot of things I think it depends on when you get glass now back Yamoto is not going to be back until midt and you still don't know what you're going to get from Walker bu and that's kind of their decision-making process is yes you still have another option on landed Knack you can send him down five times and roesy hasn't been that much better this season he's had some home run issues as well but if he gets rocked tonight there is a chance that it's one of the last times you see him this year there's no doubt about it but you also have to consider the Alternatives as well Keith Potter best postseason lineup I like this here we go Keith Otani DH batting lead off bets in right field Freddy Freeman at first we got Talos Carz in left Lux in the Five Spot we got Will Smith batting sixth Muny seventh Edmund eighth and yeah you got that short and the ninth km yeah I think I think that's spot on I think that that's a line lineup we absolutely could see but that doesn't include Miguel roas and Miguel roas has continued to hit and he's going to be playing shortstop for sure if he hits like that and he's healthy so it's tough to imagine them moving off a rooh house but you do bring up Muny in the seven spot that is something that really is kind of blowing my mind I mean Muny has continued to rake since he's been back he's been great and to have a player that talented batting seventh is just kind of crazy to me because of his impact on the offense I mean he missed 80 games this season hits a two-run home run in the first game on Monday the Dodgers shut out win H again Tuesday Wednesday he hit two doubles including a bases clearing double he was Fant fantastic and this season has a 133 weighted runs created plus and here's the thing he is that glue he's that secret sauce for this Dodgers offense this year without Max Muny in the lineup the Dodgers averaging 4.7 runs per game with Max mzy in the lineup 5.29 runs per game so that is their best lineup when it includes him if Lux continues to hit like this I think he stays there but I wouldn't be surprised that by the time the postseason rolls around you could see Lux and Muny kind of flip-flop there in the order because you know they're going to want to stagger that and you're also seeing a lot of product from the 789 hitters against the Mariners the Dodgers were 9 for 32 with their seven8 n hitters so they were great I mean you had three doubles three home runs you had a triple nine rbi's two walks Edmund stole a base so yeah they got a lot of dep right now you're seeing the best Dodgers line we got Muny at 7even doesn't give the pitcher a rest yeah the pitcher does not get arrest they cannot breathe against this lineer lineup I mean you're absolutely correct with a lineup like this if these guys continue to perform at this level they're going to be tough to beat now we could see history this weekend in fact we are going to see history this weekend sh Otani is going to hit a home run he's going to steal a base and when he does that he will become just the sixth player in major league history to have a 4040 season that's 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases and hasn't happened since Runa Jr last year but has never happened in Dodgers history to be the first 4040 player in Dodgers history Matt Kemp came so so close 39 home runs and 40 steals in 2011 think a little asteris there's the fact that the Dodgers only played 161 games so I will always believe I'll take it to my grave that he was going to hit a home run and be 4040 that year but Otani Matt K and R mesy they're the only Dodgers to have a 3030 season so he's already breaking records and we're going to kind of list off some of these Milestones from Shi this season the first one April 21st this season he hits his 176 bomb he broke a Dei Mat Su record for the most home runs ever by a japanese-born major league player couple weeks later with his eighth home run of the Season May fourth against the Braves he passed Dave Roberts for the most career home runs in Dodgers history by a [ __ ] he's born player he gave Dave Roberts a little mini Porsche thought that was really cute Dave Roberts still has in his offense and then July 13th he had his 200th career home run and then eight days after that he his 30th home run of the season so he did that in 100 games 30 home runs in 100 games and that was the fifth fastest in Dodgers franchise history he also has the most stolen bases ever by as a designated hitter in his season he passed Paul Moler who had 31 in 1992 and he has a chance to be the first 4545 player Alfonso Sorano had 45 bombs and 41 swipe bags in ' 06 and the most home runs ever for a player has 30 steals was Larry Walker 49 bombs and 30 steals so all this is to say is we're never going to see this again this is unprecedented for the Dodgers this could go down as the best offensive season that we've ever seen and he's a DH but have you seen the decoy gold bobblehead what are your takes on this because that Decoy bobblehead is going to feed families man is going to feed families you better get in line now how about the gold one do you like it Noel how many are they going to be uh I I didn't see details as to how many they're going to be but it looks pretty crazy that's going to be a really really good collec I think you should try to get it dmac you probably go I can't try to get it I mean well I could I mean well I get I don't I don't know if the the on they get to the media that'd be cool if they're random because the some of the the bobblehead boxes like this one you can't really see what's inside right some of them you can't like the tail when you can the gold one I've seen people say it looks like Bill Clinton n that's cold I mean I don't love the gold one I you try to get the gold one because you used to rock like the two chains back in the day you know I I did Rock CLE chains it go yeah I mean the gold you know got Gold's you know my grill back in the day too but I mean I kind of wish they had done either the city connect one or the gry Jersey like they did wait better than hold did Dag just say the city connect Tony docent this because because this is history I could use as a chew toy you know I me oh sure sure sure yeah you know I mean you'll give it to your dog what are your thoughts guys on the uh what are your thoughts on the gold Otani bobblehead uh dice melon 9999 what up dmac I'll be in C for the first time this week of September to see the Dodgers play three times hopeing to get some dope Dodger merch it will be my first time at Dodgers Stadium September 6 go get some dope merch man top of the park store go to gear up.la on my boy Noel's cooking up some fire t-shirts as well uh Dana Tong says Machado and tatis smell each other's cup before games 499 you're getting double you getting two BR for that one for sure some more comments down below gold bobblehead is horrible from ell Shiva Jones also don't like it that is uh we got Michael Barnes ranked 57 through 63 be catchers at throwing out Runners Smith can't keep taking two games off a week plus the off day on Thursday yeah I mean that's definitely an area where Will Smith has improved that and the pop time I agree and you're going to see more Will Smith and he's working his way out of a funk too uh Joey Martinez yo dmac this may me happy I saw a plate in Boise Idaho that was itfdb it's time for Dodger baseball that's awesome play I know that's a cool story hopefully he got it hopefully ate off it hope this Dodgers offense eats tonight give me a bruh please dmac you guys BR man uh we got to Ed the show becomes the leader for second and third base swipes home run and doubles in a single season yeah absolutely now before we end the show real quick high five our top five individual offensive seasons in Dodgers history so starting at number five I'm going mukie bets's 2023 season last year he had a 987 Ops 164 Ops plus 39 home runs that was a career high for Muki had 51 hits in August alone only issue is it didn't end strong was hitless in the postseason just did not have it in that Series against the Padre's but still when you look at that season definitely one of the best seasons in Dodgers history for mooki bets offensively speaking was one of the best now number four Jackie Roosevelt Robinson Jackie Robinson 1949 three 42 batting average that led all of Major League Baseball 37 stolen bases wins MVP Jackie Robinson I mean people forget just how good of a player he was I think he would have played a big role in this era but the fact that he wins rookie of the year for the first time the first ever Rookie of the Year 1947 couple years later wins the MVP that year still is one of the top War seasons for the Dodgers all time so I mean M I mean Jackie Robinson mookie bets Mook at five then you got Jackie at four and just looking at those offensive War years for a single season I mean you're right at the top on with those guys and coming in at number three Duke Snider 1953 LED all of Major League Baseball with a46 Ops 370 total bases 42 dongs 38 doubles Duke Snider was a dog absolute beast at the plate 1953 Duke Snider third best individual offensive season in Dodgers franchise history then coming in at number two one of the biggest injustices in MVP history Matt Kemp not winning the 2011 MVP still to this day it angers me it infuriates me Ryan Brun was on the juice and even if he was on the juice Camp had a better season he had a 172 Ops Plus 72% above League average was first in that category 353 total bases 39 home runs 126 RBI LED all of Major League Baseball and all those categories still did not win the MVP but it's still the second best individual season in Dodgers franchise history and then coming in at number one I almost didn't want to have this as number one because of how his career ended with the Dodgers but the best individual off offensive season in Dodgers franchise history was Mike Patza in 1997 a 185 Ops plus was 85% above League average LED baseball in that category hit 40 home runs had 32 doubles a 1,70 Ops should have ended his career in La lots of turmoil with the ownership kind of got mad at Vince Skully you don't get mad at Vin Skully man you just don't do that as a Dodger did not end well with my Piaza I'll never forget the day he gets traded to the Marlins then ends up in New York thankfully we got Sheffield and I love me some Gary Sheffield I like some good Gary Sheffield Stadium stories at at one point but uh those are the top five best individual seasons in sh Otani right now already at 6.3 BW without even playing a position without pitching at the end Otani is going to crack that list it's just how high is he going to be on that list I'm looking for 50/50 it's never been done we've never seen a 4545 never seen a 5050 it's going to join oral Hyer as one of the best unbreakable team accomplishments that we've ever seen when Hyer had the 59 consecutive inning streak in 1988 so the show goes on tonight against the race so quick predictions tonight we're going to start with Tony ters Tony ters we got a rematch of the 2020 World Series tonight they should give Kevin Cash's anything for taking out Blake snow in game six all right Tony tayers what do you got what do you got for your prediction for tonight did they already release a lineup who's pitching tonight Bobby Miller you got your boy Bobby Miller some point he's like the Jimmy Kimmel to Matt Damon for the show at this point but uh at some point Bobby big time will be on the show but you got Tyler Alexander sporting a 517 ER 5 and3 on the year 68 punchies going against Bobby Miller and 802 erra 28 punches outs the Friday match up then Saturday you got Taj Bradley going against the goat clay Kershaw Kershaw has been fantastic had one bad outing against the Padre's outside of that he's been great it's not old kersch it's classic kersch and then on Sunday it's Shane baz versus Gavin Stone Gavin Stone fantastic in those last start so let's go what you got let's go I'm gonna go with my dog Bobby Miller he's gonna go at least six quality Innings quality start and he's going to get that dub GNA get that dub and who's going deep you know what you know who's looking really good Max Muny I'm GNA choose Max Muny again I like that pick it works it works for you and how about the series they take all three two out of three they get swept I might just say they get swept they get swept dog and cl is going to go deep too book it nice so cool it they don't bat anymore but it's all good Noel Sanchez Noel no I'm just playing with you what go deep into the game all right what do you got for this uh who's your called shot for tonight for tonight I got to go with my guy mookie magic I need a mook B I've been needing it a mook bomb for tonight exponentially it's going to happen and how about this do they sweep take two out of three oh Dodger sweep for sure for sure we're going to start rolling real soon I I really been liking what I've been seeing from Tommy Edmond man he's he's been the guy that I've got my eye on and like I said Jack FL killed it too I think bobb's gonna have himself a good start tonight get his confidence back up and we'll have him on the show real soon I like it good vibe from the white pill right what about you D Mr optim well we'll get my take but first Serena who's going deep tonight for the Dodgers is Shi getting 40 show is getting 40 for sure I feel it I'm calling it I don't know what we getting drinks celebrating we'll get the gold show bobblehead that's currently on eBay someone has a gold Shi Bobble on eBay for over 3,000 I'm like bro do you actually have this in hand they got they probably got a picture and cut it out that's what I'm saying like dog you have this in hand but she's got sh going deep let's go let's go I think Dodgers take two out of three go Bobby Miller tough we need to see a better Bobby tonight two out of three for this series against a raised team that it's not like a raised teams in the past Dodgers are rolling right now so I wouldn't be surprised if they did take this sweep but tonight I'm going with seren's pick to sh Otani gets 40 does he get the 40th stolen base he has to get on base I was talking to someone who said he what if he does in his first at bat I was like you can't steal a base and hit a home run the same at bat that's virtually impossible he hits a triple and then steals spase steals home yeah that'd be pretty cool that'd be pretty amazing would love to see him Ste home for sure wouldn't put it past show but let us know down below I want to see some of your called shots who's going deep you got the Dodgers sweeping the Rays what up deac what up BC what up chat what up Chris over there got Grizzly on the right says dmac we you do a shoey if Shi makes it to 4040 this weekend if he goes 5050 by this weekend I'll do 10 no I I'll get you your I'll get you your shui Otani and I still haven't rock my new balances did you get them I got them you going to wear them bro I'm just I'm pretty devout Jordan guy it's it's tough we we should go ball up and then you can wear them should I okay uh I'll I'll do it in possibly my show hean if he goes 4040 this week it has to happen right on Kobe weekend come on now uh yeah for sure they're going to find some like Kobe numerology watch like oton hit the home run at at 240 and it was the eighth pitch of the at batan get ready for that they always have those BC frankly I don't want Hayward or Taylor taking a bats in October but numbers are what they are even this year and especially the last two years haywards are so much better we got a left-handed pitcher tonight dmac hits a home run tonight okay we got Will Smith in a bomb give a little fire take for that one he's doing a cuppy what Samy boy Smith's crazy gold Otani looks like an Oscar yeah looks like a little little Oscar the Oscar is like eight and a half inches um dmac needs to change his name to torto MAAC if sh goes 5050 Dyan McKay how about this if he goes 50/50 I will do it for one day on my ex I'll go as tor ma _ la for one day you heard it right here you can clip that you can write it down I'll sign something so there we go I'll be torto maore LA on the X if Shi gets a 5050 going on a streak the Dave Barnes win in the offense is rolling now dmac loves Barnes he's a winning player man you know one of the best backup catchers in the league we got torto in the house Dylan McKay dmac de devour torz okay how do you know an Oscar is 8 and a half inches uh tall I know some weird stuff man but uh that's going to do it for this episode of Dodgers Doug live my name is
