Did you know Harvey Korman was briefly fired from The Carol Burnett Show?

[Music] hi guys welcome to classic TV Fox and trivia thank you for stopping by today's video uh is called Carol bernet show uh it's actually one that's kind of surprising did you know that Harvey Corman was briefly fired from the Carol brette show okay for years carinet and Harvey Corman collectively made millions of people laugh on a regular basis from their improv descripted content on the Carol Bernett show Corman is known for breaking character often as he struggled to hold back his Laps on the show which made the skits all more the more funny the Corman began to chuckle it often led to the others on stage doing the same and from time to time the entire cast of The Carol Bernett show would break character though Bernett and Corman had a great relationship and many years of laugh success and good times on the Carol brnette show one instance nearly prevented all those memories from being made Harvey Corman at his struggles with being an actor and one day his emotions got to him while on set 2016 Carol Bernett appeared on today to promote her book in such good comp and such good company 11 years of laughter Mayhem and fun in the sandbox one of the details in the book was how she had to give Harvey Corman a very direct wakeup Harvey was wonderful there's no question about it berett said sometimes he'd get in the mood but we would always get him out of it then this one day we were rehearsing and he was not a happy camper and he was a little Snappy with our guests Bernette said she could handle a little sass or snap herself but wouldn't tolerate it for her guest according to the list Bernette wrote in her book our guests that week were Tim Conway who had not yet joined the cast as a regular and Pula Clark to nicest people in Showbiz that night after the show I went into his dressing room Bernette said on today ask to ask Corman why he was acting the way he was he said well you know I'm just not happy here I said okay don't come back after Bernette said on a Friday that he was welcome to leave and not return Corman backtrack Bernette ultimately gave him another chance but there was an ultimatum he needed to be more positive at work naturally Bernette had something in mind she told him when I see you Monday morning I want you to whistle and Skip down the hallway at CBS Bernett explained with a laugh at Monday I'm walking towards the elevator it open Harvey came out we kind of looked at each other and he started whistling and skipping down the hall I howled finally I had a uh a plaque made that I put on his dressing room door that said Mr Happy gol lucky while Corman was never actually fired brette was very serious when she said don't come back so much so she stated in her book that she called corman's agent and made him aware of the situation so if anything further needed to happen it would be documented safe to say Corman got the message and a new decoration for his dressing room door and no further steps were taken the cast of The Carol berett show went on to have an ultra successful run uh it is known for today one of the best shows to ever hit television uh especially when Conway joined and him and Harvey Corman did an act together you know all their stuff together and Cony break him up every time and it always got to me that uh later in the years after they retired they come out of retirement and they did a u a tour uh Harvey Corman and Tim Conway and I was so upset with myself they was not too far from me and I didn't go and I had kick myself in the butt for that uh anyway all I got for you guys hope you enjoyed this please don't forget to subscribe please like this video you guys have a great day God bless you and I'm praying for you a
