I'm excited man going on year 12 man just to just to get to play football you know so I've been doing since as a kid and know I've been seeing Mike T you know for for years to come and he he was at my pro day you know when I was coming out and it's it just feel great know to get to just just get get here and and be under his wings I feel like we're going to be talking to you about the kick return until the end of time essentially but what excites you about these new roles and the opportunities for you honestly I got I got mixed feelings about it you know yesterday I probably told somebody I feel good about it now today I kind of hate it so it's just each and every day man is it's different you know and you know going out there you know trying to practice in and all the different kicks we going to get and stuff is you know it's kind of tough but it's honestly it's just going to make make me better as a kick returner and make the 10 guys up that's blocking for me make us all better do you see opportunities for to have some explosion on the kickoff now and uh different than maybe in years past I mean hell yeah I mean I mean when you get first uh past that first wave it's over with you know and being the kicker and I like my chances would me uh 100% out of 100 times you know so I mean they better do a good job you know and filling that ball and not getting right to us and cuz we got a great plan that that we got and you know I'm excited for for for the opportunity you know to try to show the world you know this new rule don't affect you know me and or my teammates in any way some of the guys were saying that players who played with Arthur Smith prior to have kind of come come in here served as sort of a mentor rer just kind of helping explain things a little bit more have you played in that role what what have you notice about these guys coming in and doing that honestly I just feel like Arthur you know he he went and got all the old guys you know so we all the older guys that been with Arthur you know me Pro you know Scotty van I mean we we know his system man we we know Arthur man he's a great guy man and you know I'm glad he here and I'm I'm glad they gave me the chance you know to work with him another year going on four years so and I just appreciate everything he did for me over the last three years and I'm just excited to see what happens off you've been used in a versatile set of ways was that a conversation you guys had about how you that I would say the first two years we did you know last year we Ain we ain't really do nothing for me so so Arthur he got to get on his this year you know and find some ways to get me the ball you know but nah man like I said I'm excited man and you know he I know he got a good plan for me you know this season and know I'm excited to see what he going to do for me what's it been like learning this off everyone else learning this off as it it it's crazy man cuz you know once the season's over you you try to get away from football try to erase your mind and everything and coming back you know in this this mandatory uh mini camp you know just hearing familiar things man it feel good to you know go to offense you know going on year 12 and stuff you already know what's your level of conditioning right now level conditioning with another month to go out of what out of a 10 out of your own I'm I'm probably a two out of 10 right now but when I get the cam I'll be eight out of 10 when Cam's over i' be a 10 out of 10 how about that usually is it usually like that for it's it's the same every year man I mean I take the same approach you know every year every offseason man I go in man I I do my thing I don't uh I don't go out and just just try to make sure I'm in the the best of the shape cuz I know uh when OTAs and Camp come I'm going to get in the best shape of my life so I don't go and stretch myself up when I'm away from football I I like to get away you know and joy my family do what I need to do let my body get fat unhealthy do what I need to do and when I come back in when I come back to Camp it's go time how much weight do you want to L how is it how is it being teammates withon Robert I really don't I really don't even know Landon Roberts never seen that goddamn life honestly I'm not trying to you know lose anything no no no no no man when I when you feel good you play good that's all that matters thank you thank you for checking out this content for Post Gazette sports if you watch this video on YouTube please like the video and subscribe to our channel for all of the sports coverage the Post Gazette has to offer visit postgazette.com [Music] oh [Music]
