season and in the postseason but uh the story of this one all about resiliency for sson Bennett and the Rams matching up against the Dallas Cowboy Squad yeah no Dak Prescott in this one we got a heavy dose of Trey Lance in the ball game we wanted to see how he would respond you guys talked about it in the pregame just not a ton of got 41 attempts he got a chance to throw it a bunch he also did this just scrambling and and trying to buy time not a lot on Rhythm or timing but he did get a lot of attempts a lot of attempts a lot of messes couple plays later marer ooh just incomplete no that was it was out of bounds yeah you're right he falling out of bounds there a little bit later how what's up Jimmy I thought Jimmy was going to get a little bit of running this G that didn't happen it's all good said somee it kid cool two yeah cool his nails back there throwing to the wrong team uh what happened a couple times actually it happened four times in this game if I'm being very specific here and a lot of these throws from in the middle of the field to uh Marquee right in the middle to Scott he was feeling lonely at that point very lonely bonck an opportunity for him maybe to win the starting job maybe didn't start this game he will start against the Packers which you'll watch on Sunday on NFL Network Jared S got the start but when he took over here here bonix little scramble action taken off Porton Sutton yeah he got him good throw it was second quarter action Josh Reynolds had a chance put in a good spot great G his receiver a chance right here cho cho have to settle for a field goal tie in the game three next Bronco's possession here and if you're wondering if there's a heavy dose of B knck you're right what would that count two drives worst at him five for bow five for bow so he had an opportunity to make some plays happen he did he did with the opp he made the most of those opportunities we'll see how that workload is next week on NFL Network against Packers scrambling using his legs guys oh man Dynamic he's not a pocket passer place got the one touchdown right therein Marvin little misdirection RPO game that's it keeping it vanilla freeze put it in a good spot yeah keeping it vanilla no game planning up there bonex would end up leading four scoring drives 15 to 21 passing 125 yards and a touchdown along with 17 rushing yards but once again this is a real competition with stinum and Wilson and nicks here's the head coach Shan pton they're doing a good job of handling the competition they really are um and they're taking advantage of the Reps they're getting when they're in and uh and they're focused on like putting their best stuff together on tape when they're in the game all three of them and so you know those numbers will unfold a little differently next weekend we'll see you know on Sunday at home AR if you've made it a point we we talked about this right after the game and you and I were having this conversation with Baldi uh before we got on air to you it's not Apples to Apples to try to compare these guys when the workload is a little bit different yeah the workload I I call it false enthusiasm right you come out there and you you know perception is reality in NFL and you go look at all the headlines and everybody's talking about B Knicks had the best debut he had five drives compared to two two that that's that's not Apple to Apple right so I'm imagining next week bonick should get two stenham should get five and Zack Wilson should get his five I don't think it's a three-way uh three-way horse I I just think it's two but I really think it's it's beneficial they want B Knicks to win win this shot bottom line they can say they can't I've seen this story before I've watched the soap opera i' I've seen you've been in the soap opera yeah I've seen and it just look it is what it is andon is going to get a chance to start with the number one offense against you know the opposing uh defense we'll see how he moves the team he moved the team today they responded he got a lot of opportunities like Steve said it you know it took him a little while to get going but he found a rhythm and he had some production so let's see what he does during practices this week who gets the number one reps you know this week I that's a big deal and then let's just see how it plays out next week and I think you'll get a much better barometer about what is really going on in this competition yeah Shan Payne's been a little koi about this competition and and the Reps but I remember Patrick Claybon was in Denver for ITC and sort of said hey like Sean's being a little cryptic not exactly giving us uh a lot of Direction on where he's going to go you don't you don't have to you don't have to believe right some some of the coaches I've heard this phrase with the media and we're the media they're like mushrooms yeah you just keep Fe keep them in the dark keep it dark here's the problem internet social media 52 sure that's well the scale of justice is tipped yeah at least for right now so we'll see what it looks like next week but you're right you can keep us in the dark right and we can be mushroom at at this point but everyone watched this game so we at least saw where he might be leading we'll see though if it evens out after week two once again that game on NFL Network meanwhile Kansas City yeah Patrick momes getting the the KN here Hollywood Brown this was scary yeah goes down with the injury now earlier today on NFL networking and Rapaport told us you had to go to the hospital roughly about four weeks now the timetable for Maris Hollywood Brown the uing Jags possession here Trevor Lawrence he just got paid Trev at into the end zone two series for lawen play three for four passing 42 yards and a touchdown Which we just showed you a little bit later Brian Thomas Jr a lot made out of the Rie wide receiver this a heck of the W great catch great catch contested uh good concentration right here you've got the defender all over him and he's able to like secure that catch and uh you know that's that's what you want he he's excellent R we all smil at this because you want to see the league at its best and when the stars are playing that is a good think Joe burrow in the pre-season Baldi here we go yeah he's right in front of the safety right there great great job of leading the receiver out of the we were anticipating ball placement think a lot of us were watching Hard Knocks the slip in slide as Caleb was trying to learn how to slide they had some fun with it in practice did a good job protecting the ball sliding uh uh getting that first down on third third down right there all right keep that drive alive so the Bears offensively nice to see Caleb you you guys have loved him up and and we've seen some positive things baly you and I were in uh Chester for training camp we had some questions around this bill's offense they must her up six points get it's the preseason here how concerned are you though without Diggs now in this offense I know Baldi you you've been saying like hey it's okay other guys are going to step up the Run game is going to be big well they I mean they they don't have a number one okay I mean ston Diggs is number one I don't care you put the best corner on him he's going to beat the best corner third Downs Red Zone and the big thing was Diggs I to me Steve I thought when the play broke down like his ability to come back and get in the vision of the quarterback wanted the ball yes I agree with you it's uh it's a tough deal I I actually have to go out there uh doing the Panthers game and the thing that you have right now is you have twos and threes fighting to be number ones and guess what that's not going to be good enough the bottom line that that just isn't that hitch route uh Coleman has that's excellent for a rookie but at the same time when you're pressed up like that and you open up the gate and you allow that corner to be able to uh Pursuit downhill you know they have Curtis Samuels he's a uh he's a slot guy um sha Shaquille Shaquille slot guy yeah I think they have uh um Chase uh no I was about to say Chase Daniels but um Claypool Chase got guys that have traveled this yes uh he's on the street for a reason right you got a lot of guys in there who are all the same type of players you have no dominant outside receiver and then co uh Coleman he's a guy he's young to put that much heavy workload on him I'm not sure that you're going to get what you need out of him so it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out but it's not going to work out the way you think it is just because you use some draft picks and you sprinkle around some money yeah we'll see how it looks in week number two of the preseason the
