Kshama Sawant BASHES Kamala’s Embrace of Dick Cheney Endorsement

I guess I wasn't surprised but it's still kind of shocking um Dick Cheney Dick Cheney uh came out endorsing vice president kamla Harris so did Liz Cheney uh and vice president Harris seemed to warmly uh accept this endorsement let me play you her response actually I'm honored to have their endorsement and I think that um what they both As Leaders who are well respected are making an important statement that um it's okay and if not important to put country above party and um I'm honored to have their support and I think it's an important statement right now a lot of what I think is happening and I was just talking with some folks here in Pittsburgh about it is that people are exhausted about the division and and the attempts to kind of divide us As Americans and um them stepping up to make this public statement I think is a courageous so she is honored to have uh the chenes endorsement and uh interestingly she said they're well respected which I think is quite an alternative reality um yeah I don't even have a question your thoughts yeah as as you said uh it's an alternate universe they inhabit to call this grotesque war criminal uh a well respected member of the community I mean Jesus Christ and and and you know and in in in addition to Harris I think it also has to be mentioned that Bernie Sanders which is an especially shameful moment for Bernie Sanders who said I believe this is an exact quote I applaud the chines for their courage in defending the Democracy I mean this is this is where you the these are the cues for us to break from these complete betrayers and obviously Bernie Sanders is not the same as Kamala Harris but for him to purvey this illusion in this long time war criminal that is unforgivable we cannot we cannot we cannot stand we cannot abide that and we have to call that out for what it is which is completely shameful I mean look at look at um the war totals by George W bush and this is you know Dick Cheney was the vice president and I'm sure so many of you viewers were very very young or not even born when this when the Iraq War started but look at the human cost of Bush's War which sheney was widly known as one of the princip architects of 1 million dead 4.5 million displaced a million to two million widows and five million orphans this is unspeakable what what was done to the Iraqi people not to mention in Afghanistan was unspeakable and now you know going back to your Deja Vu Point Jordan and now yet again we have a genocidal War so you have a current genocidal candidate kamla Harris C crating her endorsement by another war criminal and you can you know you can call him another supporter of genocide I mean this guy also supported Trump in 2016 so I don't know what his claim to fame is so in other words we are seeing in public in for everybody's eyes to see we're seeing this very uh clear Nexus between the Democrats the Republicans the warmongering baren on Wall Street all of that you know all the imperialist interest the capitalist interest all of this is bound together there is this is this you know if this didn't show why we need to break from Kamala Harris and Donald Trump both then I don't know what will so I think this this is this is our cue really to understand that there is no there's no way out in this War uh on this basis uh and it should also be clear when when the labor leadership and when the Democratic Party leaders they you know for over decades they have used the slogan never again in reference to genocide and now they are party to genocide and as far as the Democrats are concerned they are actually you know they're actually responsible for genocide they can never use the slogan never again they have no right to talk about ESG they have lost all credibility all believability to speak of the needs of the oppressed and let's be clear the blood of esgi and of the 200,000 Palestinian lives that are Lo have been lost in the genocide are all over the hands of Harris Biden and the whole Democratic party and it's so it's not surprising at all to see uh it is shocking and unspeakable but it's not surprising at all to to see Harris celebrating Chan's endorsement of her and you know what also strikes me is and I'm sure you remember uh I was a little younger during uh the Iraq War but in the 20 thousands the emails we're getting now the fundraising emails and the media hyperventilation about democracy being on the line and Trump is a fascist threat we were getting similar emails about Dick Cheney just in different just in different language different language for many of the same people but then you know 20 or so years later it's this kind of revisionist history I mean they've done the same thing with George W bush I mean I think it was Keith alberman or the view said oh I missed the days of bush because Trump is so bad so what does this mean for present day in 10 to 15 years are they going to be you know revising Trump and you know befriending Trump when it's uh potentially more uh you know a similar extreme but more competent you know Neo fascist so it just seems like how do you trust that they actually that the people that they're saying are such a threat and and war criminals or what they said about chenny how do you trust in real time they mean it if they just revive it for political purposes and reinvent that that history 10 to 20 years later oh completely I mean it is beyond ironic and shameful that the the same Democratic party which is celebrating chenes endorsement of Harris they are the same ones who once ruthlessly attacked independent left candidate Ralph nater because according to them they you know he allegedly helped to bring George W bush and Dick Cheney to power and now they are they cannot hug Cheney hard enough and uh this is all but but but let's be also clear it's not surprising in in another sense because the same Democratic party that attacked nater for allegedly helping Bush and Jenny come to power were also the same party that embraced Bush's carpet bombing of Afghanistan and Iraq just as they are now embracing genocide in Gaza so uh you know we we see the again the Nexus there again there's another aspect of this Nexus it is the same Democratic party that fiercely drove forward neoliberal the neoliberal B bipartisan Onslaught against working people over decades including during the Clinton and Obama administrations which carried out massive massive um just assault on uh Social Services on funding for affordable housing for poor people I mean just a massive Onslaught on poor and workingclass people so this this is the same Democratic party it has always been the party of the ruling class party of the billionaires party of warmongering and and uh so uh you know that's why we we we we simply you know we simply cannot have Illusions in either of them sorry um um Jordan I have to rush to my meeting um go ahead that's fine no problem I just wanted to get that get that one can I just say one thing for your viewer and and be that and because neither of these two parties represents working people and both parties have clearly been exposed as parties of genocide I think it is extremely important for working people to begin the work of building a new party for the working class a new anti-war party for the working class because such a party doesn't exist today and that's why uh we want to use worker strikeback wants to use our campaigning for Jill Stein and building the highest possible vote for Jill Stein as a step towards that building the new party and that's why we are we're not just campaigning dur during the election we are also building for an organizing conference in February which will hopefully be attended by thousands of people in order to begin a serious conversation about ending the war and building a new party because as I said before come January it is going to be Harris or Trump in the White House absolutely thank you for
