Is Ted Cruz in trouble? w/ Charles Blain

[Music] what what what what is going on here Charles Blain of Urban reform.org You're I know you you're Charles Blain you're the guy with all the conservative fiscal solutions to Inner City problems what what's your whole deal well you know now we're listening to blueg grass and we're going to be figuring out problems that uh or solving problems in the Bluegrass Country so that's where we are now you don't strike me as a Bluegrass guy you you you live in Houston W you talk like you're from Jersey actually you don't talk like you're from Jersey can I ask you a you as you know this is an unscripted show yes some people some people think it's scripted it's not scripted it's not scripted uh have you seen the video for those that don't know or Charles Blain by the way let me just explain who this is he he writes for Texas scorecard are you more of a journalist or an activist or what do you call yourself more of an a freelance activist if you will I think is a good way of putting it I like that but you do journalism and so have you seen the video of there's a I'm going to use a term here and I'm Italian so I could say Jersey Italian Jersey trash have you it's a dad and his son and they go to Costco and he's like what do you rate this chicken bake I rate it boom yeah isn't this the weirdest thing it's literally a dad making a living he's giving his kid diabetes while people watch on social media strange and I don't know if you've seen those videos is now they have Rivals they have arch nemesis that they meet up with at Costco and other locations and they fight them over things like chicken Paran and other stuff it's really interesting actually that can't be really what yes I can't remember what the rivals names are but yeah they're in a they appear in a couple videos together for those I know that most of us know what we're talking about but yesterday I was trying to explain this to a friend on the show uh a friend of mine a journalist and she she didn't she'd never seen them before hold on I've got them here uh this is who we're talking about bring the ball that's [Music] what so what is the boom basically they just they eat who's this kid that's the youngest that's the dad yeah the family got bigger because it was just two of them it was him and the dad now there's two others I know it's easy to make fun of them but they found a weird way to make a living the only thing that bothers me about this is the kid is clearly not healthy correct like there's no question about it he's not and they encourage it because that's what they're getting the views from is going and eating stuff like pan and showing up at Costco and stuff like that so it's not really the best but hopefully they find another Avenue of of maintaining that Fame moving forward all right watch me segue from that to what we're actually going to talk about as as America enjoys watching a father feed his son something unhealthy for entertainment are we feeding our voterbase and unhealthy policy position from the left I don't know you're it was almost there just kind of drawn this connection I feel like we're closer okay let's talk about politics cuz that's what this is I'm Kenny Webster this is a political show Camala Harris is going to sit down for her first interview it's going to be like political diabetes diabetes diabetes everybody says that wrong like Porsche it's not Porsche it's and so Dana Bash is gonna interview Cala and her emotional support pet Tim Walls and do I gotta think the first thing we ask these people uh Charles Blaine is what exactly is your position on the border because we've been told over and over again she hates walls she doesn't it's a vanity project how many times did she say this this issue is about a vanity project for this President yeah project a problem of his own making right and listen when I travel this country folks have plenty enough problems that they need their president to focus on and she knows about problems she grew up in Academia uh okay so I can't help but notice this is the same woman who not long ago said this a mother who pays a coyote coyote to transport her child through their country of origin through the entire country of Mexico facing unknown Peril to come here why would that mother do that I will tell you because she has decided for that child to remain where they are is worse but what does Donald Trump do what does he do he says go back to where you came from that is not reflective of our America and our Val values and it's got to end later to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous track to the United States Mexico border yeah do not come do not come do not come okay um then Charles is this the first question you ask her well I think either that because as we know she's doing this interview with Tim Walls so I think either that's the first question or the first question is does Tim Walls have or not have a dog named Scout because I think we we were trying to determine that the other day but no I mean it is absolutely ridiculous when you look at it because she everything that she has criticizing it's not just from Trump she also did this with Biden during the primary that year as well everything she criticized of him she flipped on when she became his vice president and now she flipped on when she's vice president because she knows the realities of policy and so it's a little ridiculous and you just never know where she's going to be on an issue look but you raise a great Point here of all the dumb things for her emotional support pet to lie about Tim Walls has an emot support her emotional support pad has an emotional support pad and people have noticed multiple social media posts this is Scout as you could see uh Scout is what color would you say Scout is uh black okay but this is another post from the same guy here he is again with Scout now how did Scout change color there is that is he is he transracial what the hell is going on something I don't know I mean and this is the thing this is what politicians do and they pretend you don't they if they they pret pretend that it's not there and hope that you will do the same but it's ridiculous I think you and I ought to do this I we should we should show up at Harris County Commissioner's Court I'll tell people I'm Charles Blain it's a great idea and then the next day you show up at Harris County Commissioner's Court you tell people you're Charles Blain and let them figure out who's the real Charles bla like will the real Charles Blain please we don't know what to think I don't know anyway okay so what what do what do you ask you're Dana Bash you've got to help but at the same time is there anybody that needs Donald Trump more than CNN's ratings uh no I think that is that is actually true but I I truly think the first question if they want this to be a very serious conversation is they need to ask why she could not do this herself why she had to have her Vice Presidential nominee with her why you can't sit down and answer questions from a f from a friendly reporter at a friendly station but you have to have someone there as an emotional support person right that should be the first question yeah that would be the first question and then the next question would be okay uh border wall right and then so many policies she claims to not support anymore that she supported literally weeks earlier this summer Summer's not over yet at the beginning of the summer she supported a ban on fracking subsidies for EVS what happened to Medicaid for all is that still a policy of hers um depends on the hour and the day I think it might change by the end of the day but you're right I mean it just changes so fast and that's probably why she doesn't want to sit for these interviews because she knows that she has no policy consistency and she's going to get called out on it yeah okay so and then of course the other issue here now look I'm not probably not the right one to talk about this cuz I am as you could see a cracker faed honoy but they but part of the reason why they picked her to be the candidate is she was supposed to be the candidate that would appeal to poc's disenfranchise minorities that sort of thing I'm reading through a list of there's about to be a biography published about her this week and one of the things it says here this is very interesting uh her mom's from the Indian brahaman cast system did you get what the cast system is in India can you explain it for those that don't get it yeah so in indan Indian cast system you're kind of born into a place in life and it's very difficult to move up or down the cast system you know in America we have a socioeconomic ladder and a lot of people try to work hard so they can move up and move into a better neighborhood different things like that well in other countries the cast system kind of prohibits that and and it is very difficult to move out of your your level and into another level okay right and then so that's the top of the cast system that's where her mom's from there's from an affluent family uh born in another country fine whatever that's okay and then her father comes from a family of wealthy Jamaican slave plantation owners her dad was an influential Marxist Economist her formative teen years were living in Montreal Canada as it's explained in the biography at no point in her formative years did she ever live in what is customarily referred to as the African-American experience she claims she celebrated not what is it not wakanda um uh K Quanza Quanza growing up look I'm Donald Trump and I can't talk about this because it's not good for mess but but is she is she part of the African-American experience how do you you know I mean it's hard to question I don't know what she's gone through to to claim that she is but I think when you look at her family upbringing in yeah and you look at where what she's been that is not the typical experience that you would find from a typical African-American household now I think a lot of when when she talks about this issue what she reverts back to is talking about going to an HBCU and so that seems to be from all public perception the first incidence in which she then inserted herself into the African-American experience and so uh yeah I don't know how much that allows you to relate to the average day-to-day happenings of every Aver every average everyday African-American family yeah okay have you seen this Don Lemon traveling around the country talking to people during the last two weeks Don lemon's out of work as you know and so he's been traveling around the country speaking with potential voters mostly black voters about Don Donald Trump and one of the things that he did expect to experience I've got to assume is that according at least according to Don Lemon um Kamala is actually not that popular with black voters what did they think about Harris did they have anything to say about her uh they did have listen um it depends on where you are we went to a number of different Battleground States in Pennsylvania Ohio uh we were in Michigan Indiana on our way obviously U Illinois on our way to Chicago and it it sort of dependent on where you were Pennsylvania well I shouldn't say Pennsylvania I should say Philadelphia was a bit more liberal and the answers U to the questions about her and him were quite different but for the most part um in Pittsburgh or in at the Jersey Shore and in Atlantic City in Ohio especially um many people did not know who she was right they they weren't familiar with her sorry I didn't mean to do that sorry go ahead they weren't they weren't familiar with her is what he's saying and that black people didn't like him as much as a lot of us thought uh my mouse got stuck there on on her face but uh is it is it just me or is something going on with Jen's face a lot of something a lot of a lot of Botox lately is that part of being at MSNBC you think yeah I mean it might be that might be one of the requirements to sign on as a News host over there what do you think about what Don Lemon just said about her I mean I think here's the thing you know well one he plac as he were mentioning were not all swing States as you know and as you said and when you look the same thing happened when he was doing interviews on the ground interviews you watching them I think it was during the DNC or something he was going and talking to folks and during the same thing it people don't like her as much as we are being told that they like her and if you go back to when she was vice president not running for president there was a there was everyone agreed that she was kind of universally disliked and then once she announced suddenly everything changed and now she was incredibly popular and so I think a lot of this is manufactured by the media because when you actually talk to people it's not the case and and the only people who do say it's the case are the die hard Democrats who are determined to see her elected so are you suggesting that she's not going to bring the boom like a Costco chicken bake is that what you're saying she's not going to be like this Italian family from New Jersey live from Texas broadcasting across the People's Republic of think that Ted Cruz I know he's what he went to Cancun or one time during a winter storm okay but if you're a conservative and you look at Ted Cruz's voting record he's great even still the Texas Tribune not exactly a nonpartisan news Outlet is reporting today Harris is shrinking Trump's lead in Texas Trump may not win Texas according to the Texas Tribune now to me that sounds a little bit like wishful thinking but they've also pointed out that Colin Alid is in within Striking Distance of Ted Cruz this isord to new polling data from our friends over at let's see here well from the Texas Tribune the University of Houston's hobby School of public affairs uh is this reliable polling data you know I think I mean listen I think it is only because we're still a little far far out from the election uh Labor Day is nearing it's this weekend and I think things are going to really pick up and so not too many people are paying attention so I think it's reasonable to expect that it's close and we also remember the bo crew election so I think it's reasonable to expect that it's close but do I think that he's in any danger of actually losing I would say no no I mean look I've got to assume he's not either but Colin alred is not having the love affair with the media that bet aor did people are trying to come up with a funny nickname for Colin and I will tell you right now I've heard a few people call him black B that's not it guys no it's not concussion B I think is better I think conc because he's like the dumb jock version of b b b would roll across the stage on a skateboard and eat waterburger and then when he to run for president we all knew what was going to happen he was going to go to Wisconsin and need at Culver's get a custard burger and that's exactly what he ended up doing Colin doesn't have that Colin spoke the other day at the DNC and he's listing off all the his what he's going to do if he gets elected you know more trans kids and more gender affirming care and more uh more abortions and all that and then and then he says and secure the border and nobody in this giant Stadium filled with liberal Democrat voters had any they secure the Border are we at the are we at the wrong convention what's interesting is you look some at some of the commentary around it before he spoke he was getting criticism from some Texas Democrat saying that he wasn't aligning himself with Democrats and he was trying to distance himself and I think this is part of what they were speaking about then he spoke and obviously it landed you know like a a brick and I think the problem is is that people who want Democrats who want to win elections especially in places like Texas understand that that's an issue they need to address where you have the party loyalists who refuse to even acknowledge that it's a problem and so they turn on those who do and I think it goes the same as when there was a video I don't know if you saw it when kamla was speaking and she said something about uh you know Public Safety or the Border or something and they flashed to her her stepdaughter and she was just sitting there not clapping because she was not happy that she referenced you know securing the border and and and reinforcing our our armed services I think that's perfectly put uh before there was Colin ald in the state of Texas there was bet oror and before there was bet oror there was abortion Barbie that was Wendy Davis and I don't know look we live in Texas I know a lot of people watching us on social media not be from Texas but I cannot help but notice here was December 8th 2015 let me put this up on the screen here what we're looking at there were a lot of these news stories about there's abortion Barbie why I caved on guns when I ran for governor of Texas now over and over again these liberal Democrats who want to try to take the state of Texas will come out and go I support gun rights I support border security and then as soon as they don't win both Wendy and B did this they come out and they go I didn't really believe that I just thought I might be able to take over the state of Texas and liberal Democrats defend them there's no Republican equivalent of this where like a republican tried to win in California and he came out and said I support abortion and then he loses and he goes I didn't really support abortion I was just trying to win and for some reason they get the pass do liberals just not have any ethics or morals why does this why is this okay I think they're willing to throw everything out when it comes to winning an election or at least they used to be nowadays I don't know if it's as much we just said about Colin and and him talking about the bordering being turned on by by uh progressives but I think they're just willing to say and do whatever it takes to win an election and they're a they're willing to turn a blind eye to their elected officials who do but the thing is if you're willing to do that for candidates who are running then what's going to happen when they're actually elected in office and they do the same thing all right so this polling data tells us Trump's in trouble in Texas it's hard to believe but that's what they say it also tells us Ted Cruz if if Trump's in trouble they're on the same ticket now it reminds me of 2016 honestly it reminds me 2020 as well because in 2016 everybody knew Hillary was going to win and then she didn't in 2020 we all went to bed thinking Donald Trump was going to win and then he didn't are the pollsters just wrong once every four years I mean I think they're increasingly getting it wrong people don't want to answer pollsters it's harder to get people to actually give accurate answers if they choose to engage with them um you know the timing of the polls the size of the polls I think we're just not where we used to be when people used to be home all the time and you can call their house phone and get them to answer a couple questions they were a little more accurate nowadays I just don't see that being the case and so you got to take them with the Granda all right one of the things that really helped out the liberal Democrats in 2020 we were all there we all remember was that suddenly your health is on the line if we don't let people do 24-hour drive-thru voting in a low-income neighborhood with sketchy crackheads as our pollster judges and it's like nothing about it made any sense but now once again just like four years ago we're being told Co is on the rise especially in blue States and swing States and then now we've got two new viruses here let me get this up on the screen for those of you watching us on social media New Hampshire residents die from e e is a rare mosquito born virus um and then what was the other thing this is this the right story this is not the right story sorry um the other story was uh monkey pox on the rise again so monkey pox Co and then of course the E whatever that is is this just wishful thinking or people is obviously you're a health expert Charles tell us everything you know about these brand new diseases we just discovered 5 minutes ago I Moonlight as a health expert just get you to know but no I mean this is the thing you know they find these one-off cases and then they make big news about it because one person passed away I you know sorry to that person and to their family but this isn't something that is so widespread that we all need to be concerned about but they want you to be because yes it does help them at the end of the day and so just like Co they're going to lean on this I wouldn't be surprised if another variant of covid comes out tomorrow and we're worried about that too why is it still called covid-19 shouldn't it there's been so many mutations Delta 24 at this point I would think I would think so too right we could start it all right you texted me the other day Charles Blaine a good friend of mine for those that don't know who I'm talking to Charles Blaine runs a website called Urban reform.org Charles and I are like unicorns in the sense that we are conservatives that live in the city and we're deeply involved in local Pol we're Republicans in a big giant blue City and you know it's like it's like a fish swimming Upstream what's the point Charles has this great we website besides Texas scorecard.org would probably get behind we have a new story today involving text Dot and for those of you that are local to Texas or Harris County this is very important yeah it's kind of ridiculous as a lot of Texans know we get toll r roads and everybody is frustrated with toll roads but the idea behind them is that they toll these roads so that they can build them pay off the cost of building them and then in theory they would then remove the toll and it would be a free Highway paid for three your regular tax dollars well with two Highway 288 which we all know kind of runs through the medical center that whole area you can go downtown or off to you know par uh parland and places like that they have a toll road that Texa is now purchasing for 1.7 billion of your tax dollars and then they have a plan to continue to toll you on it so they're buying it from the private developer paying over market value for it when the private developer said they would immediately cut the tolls and then they're going to continue to to you for it so you're getting taxed twice for it's ridiculous okay so there's no such thing as a temporary tax no it doesn't exist income tax was designed just for the rich people right up until everybody was getting taxed and now the Biden Administration is cracking down on what is it service industry people getting paid in tips Camala claims she's against it but of course she's part of the administration that's doing it the the new thing is capital gains unrealized capital gains tax what that means is if you own like a Mickey Manel rookie card or a house in the suburbs or whatever and it and it increases exponentially in value you have to pay taxes on it even though you haven't sold it yet and they say this will only affect the very very rich knowing what you know about everything we just said income tax and the the tolls and all do you believe that not at all not at all because you know what it's going to hurt it's going to hurt people who have some sort of precious family heirloom they might not be rich but it's been passed down upon Generations on generations and they're holding on to it with no intention of selling it or maybe they do want to sell it because they might need some extra money and then it's going to hurt them and those are the many people who can't afford to actually pay stuff like this and that's what always happens with this stuff and again it's like you said it's not temporary so even if they want us to believe it is it's going to be here permanently if they choose to make it amen to that Charles Blain Urban
