you know what we actually did adopt a dog together already but then it ate my passport and so I took her back to the home Lily Allen is responding to receiving death threats after revealing that she returned her adopted dog the singer comments on Instagram about backlash she's received for recently saying she and husband David Harbor found a new home for their adopted dog Mary after it ate her family's passports she writes on August 25th I have never been accused of mistreating an animal and I've found this whole week very distressing the 39-year-old goes on to accuse tabloids of releasing a deliberately distorted cobbling together of quotes designed to make people angry Lily clarifies previous comments noting that her family gave it their all with the pup writing the dog couldn't be left alone for more than 10 minutes she had three long walks a day two by us and one with a local dog Walker and several other dogs we worked with the shelter That We rescued her from and they referred us to a behavioral specialist and a professional trainer the smile singer's comments come after the August 22nd episode of her Miss Me podcast when she revealed she and her fam are getting ready to welcome a new dog into their home she explained that they already tried with one pup but a passport incident was the straw that broke the camel's back you know what we actually did adopt a dog together already but then it ate my passport and so I took her back to the home got it it ate your passport that's a hungry dog she ate all three of our passports and they had our visas in and I cannot tell you how much money it cost me to get everything replaced because it was in covid and so it was just an absolute logistical Nightmare and because my the father of my children lives in England I couldn't get them back to see their dad for like 4 months I was like you've ruined My Life um yeah she was also like you know she passports weren't the only thing she ate she was a very badly behaved dog and I really tried very hard with her um but it just didn't work out and the passports was this was the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak Lily accuses some tabloids of leaving out that part of the story where she detailed that her family did indeed try very hard for a long time with the dog the songwriter who has been married to stranger things Star David Barber since 2020 clarifies saying after many months and much deliberation the family ultimately agreed their home wasn't a good fit for Mary and she was placed with someone known to the family Lily asks her audience to stop acting on clickbait articles noting it is Distortion and all you are doing by engaging with these stories is making more money for people who profit from sewing diversion and tearing us all apart [Music]
