from Amazon and you might see two people on the Atlanta Dream wearing it today um so shout out to you guys um oh I can put that on but also I was excited today I got a pumpkin spice latte and I know it's still August but I was really excited now that it's on Starbucks's menu all right that's it wish us luck what up y'all this your boy Ace here and welcome to track and Ace so I wanted to talk real quick about Lexi Hall bro Lexi Hall becoming a better offensive player since she's been with Caitlyn now we going to talk about this some more in the future that's why I said you know what I'm not going to try to make this one too long because we're going to talk about is more in the future you know uh maybe even after tomorrow Chicago game or after the Dallas game or whatever we going to talk a little bit more about this and it's the changes we're seeing in Lexi Hall's game offensively her making getting back to making layups uh on the transition you know the you know CCE pushing the ball on the fast break you know getting it down the court cuz Lexi have yall noticed that Lexi is like the first down there on the court that's why she getting these opportunities to get those easy baskets and she's finishing now she's learning how to finish only see how missed like one finish in the past four games see I missed like one finish and I think it was either the Atlanta game or the Minnesota game where she missed the Bunny at The Rim but Lexi man she's taking her game to another level I think she's I think another element to her game besides shooting a three ball and slashing I think one of the things that she wants to do too that she's seeing that Caitlyn's doing she wants to playmake a little bit cuz she can she got a huge pass out to Kel MIT to hit that three and she's seeing she's around two good passers right now Boston is a really good pass out of the post as well and she's getting fed some of those passes um you know she's getting fed some of those passes uh from the rim to kicking it back out to the three I think K I think think you know Lexi is trying to get to a point where she could become a playmaker and help CC out with the passing and taking some more dribbles and cutting in and then kicking it back out because the passing on this team right now is is looking so crisp right now it's looking so crisp on this team it just that the girls just got to finish these layups man that's the problem right now with the fever it's got to finish these layups and it might be you know like I said with the women's game as a as a total like there are players that could finish I just think maybe with the women they're not just as athletic as the guys are so when you're watching men's basketball you know they're able to just finish cuz they they could dunk in you know the guys could dunk as well you know they don't have to just lay it up but women had to really lay it up so there a little bit it's hard to make a layup than it is a dunk right you know what I'm saying as long as you got the athleticism you could dunk and with women you got to lay it up you know you know what I'm saying and then when you got a defender on you it's even harder to make a crisp layup but we've seen some easy ones too like we seen when no one was around and they been some bunnies so I don't want to give her too many excuses on that but Lexi yesterday played a more rail round the game I think getting on starter minutes really made her want to do more than just stand around in the corner and get a pass and shoot a three like she was trying to do a lot more getting to the top of the key getting the ball passing around finding the open passer then she was dribbling sometimes trying to get fouls she got she made a really smart play at the end of the game to seal it uh to get to the free throw line you know what I'm saying and and Lexi someone that's shooting in a 70 you know 70% range right now so she she'll be relied on hitting free throws at the end of the game she was three for four yesterday from the line and I think that I think she'll get I think she could become she could definitely become like a 80% something free throw shooter in this league just got to shoot more more get more experience at the line and uh cuz she man she's got one of the best Strokes on the team bro part is between her and Mitchell they stroke like it's it's it's perfect for hitting threes and Lexi was someone even at Stanford she could hit the midi like so I think she should get back to that point of her game as well getting some midies you know what I'm saying but I just think her hanging around Caitlyn has had a super positive effect on her game the growth of her game man offensively because I think she's picking up habits from Caitlyn and that's good you want to see that you want to see somebody actually try to copy and paste somebody that's what Kobe did when he was trying to get Michael's moves copy and paste with that and it worked for him as a pro why not be inspired to go be like someone that's your friend on the court you know what mean on and off the court cuz you you're practicing together anyways you might as well pick up some of the things that she's got her game obviously there's some things that CCE does that you can't do because you don't have the talent that CeCe got but there are some things that she does that's like more fundament fundamentally sound that you can do you know what I mean and I think that's what Lexi is doing Lexi's picking up a lot of stuff from Cece man is and the one thing I noticed yesterday that was kind of new to me was the playmaking ability that she had the you know get on the outside kind of run a soft point right kind of be at the top of the key look for people cuz there was times where like like Caitlin was the shooting guard she was a point point forward to something she was at the top and that's the thing too like I think Lexi could get to a point where she's taking the ball down the court as a point forward and because Lexi is listening I think she's listened as a shoo guard right now but we know she's like in and out as a point as a small forward and I really think she can take the ball up the court sometimes let CeCe get arrest or whatever and hang around you know kind of become a decoy on the court and it set somebody else for a basket like cuz I think if she adds that in that's going to be good for the team too but that's why I also said nothing against Kelsey Mitchell but this why I said this is why I've been trying to replace her because it's not just the ball selfish stuff I want someone who could also play point next to CCE someone that's a little younger and can play the point because I said it again we almost had a scary situation on Monday where this thing could have been really bad for CeCe you know I don't know what the diagnosis was I heard sprain ankle or whatever um twisted ankle you know I don't know really what it was but it could have been a scary situation where she had to come out of the game like an Alicia great did on the other side with the Atlanta team Atlanta Dream you know what I mean and so so if that situation ered obviously wheelers got to come in this is why I hated that uh we don't use Grace Burger cuz like I said like we could be using somebody off that bench cuz who knows if somebody gets hurt bro before the playoffs and you don't use Grace burger right now where she's going to have to be used out of an emergency situation sze you got to wake the hell up and play up you know what I mean because you got to think about those scenarios you got to have make sure everyone ready to go by the playoff time cuz you don't know who going to get hurt on this team injuries happen in Pro Sport I mean not pro sports Just Sports in general you don't know when they're going to happen you can't account for them happening the best thing you need to do is make sure your death is set up good so that you not look I mean obviously if if it's something happen with CC we're not going nowhere you mean she's just too important to this team okay but still if you just want to at least have a Fighting Chance while you in the playoffs you know what I'm saying you want to at least see who else is out there who could maybe take this thing up put Grace Burger out there man you know what I mean ain't gonna hurt this team to have Grace Burger out there I ain't talking about she got to get it important fourth quarter minutes put her in the second quarter early in the second quarter you know what I mean and just see what she can do get herself back used to being in there you know what I mean like it's it's ridiculous the way they got it right now or qu you off you know I know chrisy Wallace was playing bad in the first half of the season but I I still give him another chance you give him wheeler all these damn chances why not give Christy Wallace the [ __ ] chance and and Nissa Smith so come on man I don't even seen Saxon get some minutes so got to give these girls some minutes man and you you've given Lexi Hall the minutes and you seeing what she's doing with him she's a way better player than she was before you know you know what I mean and I truly believe her playing off of CCE has really helped her man just think it's helped her game um and she's becoming better and better because she's picking up on Caitlin's habits I can see that she's doing that bro he's picking up on her habits and she's becoming a better offensive player because of it and it's only going to get even better because they haven't even had a full offseason together so just imagine when they're working out together in the offseason what this going to look like in the next couple of years you think you seen something now you ain't seen nothing yet when it come to Leo and how much better she could get you know we just seeing little spurts of it the only thing that's really established from her is her defense her defense is the the most established thing about her right now that's something that she don't even really I mean obviously she has to practice on it but that's something that if she didn't practice on it for the rest of her career she'd be set you know what I'm saying but offens I think she's going to get there man so what I want y'all to do right now man is give me your thoughts in the comment
