Intro hey everyone going over my favorite four Sleepers at the running back position this year and again just to clarify for me a sleeper means a player that's going to dramatically outperform their current ADP so first on this list is Josh Jacobs Josh Jacobs who's currently going the third or fourth round depending on what format I understand every concern people might have oh Jacobs didn't play very well with the Raiders last year well he was coming off a contract situation was injured early in the preseason as well and was under a Josh McDaniel's offensive system that was putrid for the entire Raiders team it was the reason why the head coach got fired Midway through the year Well Matt lafur loves to rotate running backs that's why you shouldn't draft Josh Jacobs AJ Dylan done for the year on injur reserve marshan lyd made the 53-man roster but also projects to be injured it's just Emanuel Wilson maybe that won't happen right now or at least that'll change in the near future but I anticipate Josh Jacobs is getting at least 20 plus touches early on and Matt laflor has never had a running back like Josh Jacobs who can handle a three down workload we have seen that before and in fact Jacobs averages or has had the second most offensive touches since he's been drafted back in 2019 that might be concerning even if you go back 10 plus years Jacob's second most touches that he's currently had since he's been in the league was something that Adrien Peterson or Matt Forte or even Chris Johnson would do routinely in fact jacobs' touches that he's had over this point would be 14th if we went back even 10 years the running back position has not changed that dramatically that a Workhorse back can can't still be a Workhorse bat in a scheme that matters and I think in this case Matt laflor and his offense are going to be using Josh aams heavily whether marshan Lloyd is a factor or not so he is one of my sleepers because he dramatically outperforms his value moving over to the Blake Corum next sleeper running back it's Blake km for the Rams I never normally care about draft status at least in relation to third fourth fifth round picks when it comes to somebody drafting Blake km early third round that does not mean a team that was picking middle third round didn't like him just mean they weren't able to get him but I think the Rams were able to say hey kyone Williams was really successful for us last year let's just go ahead and get Blake km who can do the same thing has the college pedigree and is also a touchdown Menace Kyon Williams has had five lower body injuries ankle or otherwise now in his past two seasons there is absolutely no way the Rams with I think playoff aspirations if not Super Bowl aspirations can reliably say Kyon Williams will be there at the end of the season with the workload he got last year and that's where Blake korm comes in that's if Kyon Williams stays healthy if Kyon Williams does in fact get injured as he has a n point in his career Blake km immediately steps in as the three down guy can be a pass catcher is a better goal Lineback than KY Williams and has a same body type in build that made Kyron Williams successful you're getting Blake km past round 10 and at minimum it's just like Alexander Madison to Delvin cook in past years but Blake km has way more upside and I think is more certain to play and play consistently than we've had those backup or handcuff running backs do before Blake km is definitely one of my favorite Sleepers at the position the next one up Old Guard here Ezekiel Zeke Elliott Elliot I understand Zeke's about four steps past his prime the Cowboys likely will add somebody after all the cut down days somebody that probably adds depth to position maybe even better than Rico Dole who I don't think is anything relation to starting caliber running back in the NFL but Zeke can pass block and pass catch just like we saw last year at the Patriots when he had 50 plus catches that's a valuable thing I the Cowboys offense will want to do certainly after they sign CD lamb to that Mega extension earlier this week and Ezekiel is a known commodity both to the coaching staff and to his teammates you can't say the same thing about any of those other backups so we're getting at minimum a rotational back one that probably has the leg up on his competition in round 12 yeah I know he's old but Ezekiel can produce at a level that I think will at least be a running back three or four can be a flex in certain weeks and by the midpoint of the season if he gets passed over he can cut him I think Ezekiel makes complete sense as a sleeper Target given the workload that you expect to have early on finally Ray Davis my last sleeper and possibly favorite is the cheapest one Ray Davis rookie running back for the bills we know the bills don't want James Cook to be a featured three down back last year latavius Murray Damen Harris and Leonard Fett combined for about 690 to 700 snaps they looked at that backfield and said latavius Murray Leonard Fett and Damen Harris need to be more involved because we can't have James Cook getting as as many touches as he was Zach moss and Deon Singletary combined for 750 snaps in Cook's rookie season so it's very clear no matter who is back there they want James Cook to be rotating and if you are expecting James Cook to be a ball carrier in between the tackles we know that's specifically the place where the bills want to have another body Ray Davis fits that category right away he's being drafted I don't know right around that round 14 range a late fourth round pick the bills aren't married to Ray Davis don't need to make him a thing per se but he has a power function in that offense that clearly values having a power functioning running attack and it can't just be James Cook doing it all the time I think he's a deceptively good pass catcher too and if James Cook were to get injured the guy who's gotten 62 receptions in the past two collegiate years can probably operate at an 80% capacity that James Cook does so give me Ray Davis is one of my favorite sleeper options at the running back position you can get round 13 and later right now
