um I man I cannot believe we're here like I'm just so so ready I'm so excited um I just can't wait for Monday and obviously tonight's going to be a good start but I cannot wait for Monday I can't wait man and you know for those who are maybe a new viewer of the show we first brought inur on last year when he would come on and he'd break down some of the all 22 coaches film from previous week's jet games and other than defensive highlights and maybe something here from Garrett or something here from Breece I mean it was miserable anytime we broke down offensive film that all changes Monday when Aaron Rogers is back and this offense should go out there and be able to be you know I don't want to say best in the NFL but they should be a top 10 offense I think that is a reasonable expectation given the amount of talent they have yeah I agree um obviously filmwise it's just GNA be night and day we we were stuck watching Tim Bole and Zach Wilson um which obviously was just brutal um and we got to see like the the the the good stuff about Garrett that he was open all the time so like that'll pay off a ton this year um the more and more I think about it by the way I've just been pondering I think Garrett for offensive player of the year is like in the a strong realm of possibility like I've been listening to podcast recently and I even guys that I respect are like very in on it so I I'm being more bought in on it but that's another story but yeah I think I don't know if you're gonna play the C clip but Rogers today was talking about how if they win on Monday the headline on Tuesday Super Bowl champions if they lose on Monday same old jets that we're going to have to like push back on a ton obviously because both it's just too drastic like we just want no one to get hurt it to be a good game the offense still has to gain chemistry it's the first time the five starting o linemen will be on the field together you just want to see the little things go well like win or loss Monday there's going to be a lot that's going to be able to be taken from the game that's positive um I would hope as a fan let's get to some comments that were made not by Aaron Rogers but by the head coach of this team this was Robert Salah earlier when asked about hisan chance not that I'm aware of no in meetings all morning no he's I don't think he's here so is he ruled out Monday not ruling him out yet how feasible is that though like if he to show up at some point it's feasible I mean uh the opponent we're playing now just had two guys show up to practice so um you trust that your veterans who know how to do things the right way we'll get themselves ready to play I mean I hear that and it's basically like hey Hassan if you show up we're still gonna let you play assuming you're in somewhat decent shape like this whole thing is bizarre but it feels like Andrew if he's not there today why would he show up then tomorrow right why would he then show up Saturday they fly out to the Bay Area believe on Sunday for this game on Monday it just it doesn't feel like Assan reck is going to be out there Monday night when the Jets take the field at this point if he's not there I mean I I would be surprised if he plays on Monday what's your read on that you don't say interesting yeah um I would be extremely surprised if he played on Monday um uh oh the fialco delay Andrew here's what we're going to do you're hearing me like 15 to 20 seconds after I said something so reset your streamyard come back in and hopefully the delay won't be as drastic now while we wait for heated conversation so when Mike Lombardi goes on McAfee and is saying this about Assan reik that's when you know Hassan reik or his agents or both might not be making the smartest decisions so the hold out that I don't get it goes down it could be as as bad of a hold out as Le'Veon Bell's hold out was years ago is the hotan Ric hold out I don't I don't understand that one you're just giving away money it makes no sense you due to make $14 million this year you're going to become a free agent next year and now you're going to pay almost problematic so uh you know I think that Jets haven't seemed to move I don't know why they would move now if they haven't moved and that's Lombardi saying that so I don't really understand what Assan reck is getting out of all this I'm gonna bring Andrew one of my favorites the Buffalo jefff I thought the way he described this entire situation was hilarious Salah indefinitely leaving the door open for week one Joe Douglas opening up 8 million in cap space the Jets don't want to text first but they are liking his pictures that's what's Happening Here the Jets have this stance we won't negotiate with Hanan unless he shows up yet you just created 8 million in c space if I'm Joe Douglas I'm calling up reck's agent saying let's get something done have this guy show up let's get something done enough is enough that's what I would do but Salah is leaving it wide open for a deal to be made and the question is will a deal be made comments question super chats will cut the line throw them in and we will certainly get to it let's get back to our I personally don't think he's going to be playing on Monday it's just a huge mess honestly I I'm I'm fairly disappointed I think he could be a huge contributor to the team and now we're going to be focusing on practice squad guys that have been made the team so like we're we're focusing on undrafted free agents that are gonna have to make a big impact will is gonna have to make a huge impact um but the whole narrative that like I don't know if this was on your show or someone I was watching someone was like oh like if the pass rush is Terri I think rich toini said this on your show actually he said like if the pass rush is so bad on Monday then it's GNA change the jet stance I completely disagree with that I don't think one game is g to be like The Telltale sign that we need to say oh Hassan come back for 10 more million dollars and we're gonna pay you now I I don't think Joe is gonna do that and I don't think that that will be the case um but do we want him and need him yeah like we we lost jfm we lost Bryce Huff we lost quinnon Jefferson those were three huge contributors to the defensive line and expecting that guys like Leonard Taylor and McGregor and watts are just going to come in and replicate that it's not a real expectation I've looked at it like this without Assan reic Andrew I think this defense could still be a top five unit in the league I think there's certainly a top 10 unit I think with them they may be the best defense in the NFL and that's why I don't understand Jet fans who are just like screw him we don't need him like no you want the best possible team you could put on the field this guy has had 11 or more sacks four years in a row he'll help you win what I don't get though from the Reddit Camp is what is he getting out of not being there as Lombardi who hates the Jets is even noting he's just costing himself money and the best thing for Hassan reck is to show up ball out someone will pay you next year dude you costing yourself money in the short term and then not being at your best to perform when the season actually starts that cost you even more money in the future so the way his agent and his Camp have advised him here they've given him some terrible advice or maybe they're telling him to show up and Hassan reck doesn't want to either way reck is making in my opinion a terrible terrible business decision by how he's handled this from the start of Camp to where we are right now I agree and I also don't know what his whole motive is because if we're gonna we're going to have his contract for next year if he holds out so is he just going to never play football again I I don't understand it there there's a good comparison is Trent Williams has made over $150 million in his career and he was holding out and then they gave him a new deal so if you're Trent Williams yeah you could hold out and play golf and have fun Assan reck's only made $50 million not only but he's made $50 million in his career he still thinks he could go for a huge payday holding out is not helping that at all I've said time and time again since all early August come in the building let's let's incentivize the contract let's pay you two extra million dollars if you have 10 sacks another 2 million if you have more than that we got to find a happy medium here where you you could come play football and help contend for a title uh this is if you really do love football like like Hassan is a football player you really care more about playing football than the money part of it I understand that he wants to get paid but we have to enough pass rush moves um right now no uh right now he's he's basically a speed guy so it's not like he's going to go speed to power much and it doesn't seem like he has a ton of other moves besides his like patented pin spin move which we saw works really well in the preseason and you just can't be a one-trick pony in the NFL it's not really going to pan out for you obviously it was a concern that he didn't put on weight in the off season he he's still not a guy that you would feel comfortable setting the edge on your defense um in in your 4-3 when you need him to set the edge on the run and he's going to get stonewalled by guys that are over 50 pounds heavier than him so I'm very very curious to see how the defensive line snaps play out on Monday that's going to be something for sure that we're gonna have to watch um because like I don't think Michael Clemens is a a good player but does he have a lot more weight on him than McDonald and he could maybe said the edge better probably so again it's what the the training the the coaching staff thinks and look to this point Jake Salah has done an incredible job Salah orri Aaron white cotton um they've done such a good job developing defensive linemen so we have to trust them at to to some extent we're talking with Andrew fiala if you have any questions for Andrew write him in I want to get game plan specific with you Andrew we'll talk about what the approach you think the Jets should take from a game plan offensively and defensively in this one on Monday but first Mr mcmoney with a super chat Jake where is Allan I could tell anyway let's get to the game now on Monday Andrew if you're Robert Salah if you're Jeff oi if you're Nate Hackett Aaron Rogers what's the game plan what's your approach break down what you would be looking to try and do to either gain an advantage or exploit a matchup or something something in this game yeah so offensively there's a lot of ways we could go about it I I think Mike Williams is going to be on a snap count so you guys are going to be watching the game and I would watch out for the Jets to be in a lot of 12 Personnel so two tight ends on the field Rucker Conlin um and just try and get into that little area where we established the run enough that it helps us off the play action um I think that's going to be huge now staying out of third and Longs is also going to be huge uh we don't want of being able to tee off uh there's a lot of similarities between the 49ers defense and the Jets defense but they do have Steve wils now still I'm pretty sure so he is a bit different um they're not running the same system that we're running actually now it's Nick senson um so I'm not very familiar with him but they have a good defensive line Javon hardgrave is is is very solid but besides Fred Warner the their linebackers aren't great it's Deandre Campbell so they're going to be susceptible to the Run they've consistently been susceptible to the Run um that's kind of been the knock on their team and then their secondary is very good look travarus Ward is going to be on Garrett I'm assuming they're going to travel him a good amount of the game so offensively I would look to the Jets to be giving Bree 20 to 30 touches um manufacturing it between Gap scheme runs Zone runs screens um that's going to be a lot of the game plan I would assume and then a lot of quick passes we're we're not going to be having Rogers hold onto the ball and try and make stuff happen uh that's going to end up being a thing because in the NFL not every play is going to be I'm gonna go to my first read my second read and something's going to be there but for the most part you hope to see the ball coming out of Rogers hands quickly now offensively for the Niners and defensively for the Jets is where it gets a lot more interesting because they have one of the hardest skilled groups to defend in the NFL you have mcaffrey with all these motions you have Brandon auk who's one of the best players against man coverage in the NFL so I'm praying that we don't go back to our old ways and that we utilize our defense in the way where SAU will be traveling with the strength of the offense meaning wherever auk is SAU is GNA travel I don't have a problem with DJ Reid in man coverage against um dbo Samuel Debo is not a great man beater he's never been that type of guy um but it's going to be interesting how much zone are we going to play how much man are we going to play obviously when you're playing Zone there's a lot of match Tendencies so you're essentially in man if the guy if you're guy goes vertical um but we match up well with them like these are these are two of the most talented teams in the NFL uh just roster on paper that's how it is but I mean their offensive line besides Trent Williams Is Not Great perie holds on to the ball for a long amount of time he's one of the longest guys in the time to throw category so again it's going to be huge for the defensive line we we our defense we don't Blitz a lot it's it's it's imperative that we get four guys that can pressure the quarterback so that's another thing that's going to be really important um I think starting the game off well is going to be important I I would love the Jets to I would love the Niners to win the toss defer and have the Jets go down and score seven and then let's just see if we put the pressure on them what happens but I mean I could talk about Tendencies and different game plans we could run forever but really solz had the whole preseason and like the last two weeks to prep prepare for this game so it's a it's a guy that he knows very well in Kyle shanan so you would hope that the team is going to be prepared when it comes to Bree Hall Andrew I think this offense especially early on in the year it should all flow through him he might be their best pound-for-pound player on this team I know Rim said there's people in the jet building who feel that way like let's go man no there's no pitch count for Bree this time around in week one feed him man let him take over this game because you could run on the Niners as you're talking about like this to me could be like the Bree Hall hey reminder I'm the Man type of game to like a national audience that's tuning in I mean Bree is going first in fantasy drives this year like I think he could make a statement if if they give him the opportunity to kind of just be you know the best running back on the field and that's a a field that includes the guy who everyone thinks is the best running back in mcaffrey who breaking news was limited today at practice so he's still on a reps count himself I heard a Niners beat reporter say that Kyle Shanahan made note they gota you know basically protect mcaffrey from mcaffrey so he's not going to be at 100% so you know let Bree go out there and dominate this game and if the Jets could dominate the time of possession that's only going to help your chances of winning this thing yeah I mean we've been begging for it for years we want to see this Jets defense with a lead we want that's really all we've been asking for so let's make Brock pie have to be that guy and and I I think Brock p is a good quarterback and obviously he's in the best system in my opinion in the NFL so it's hard but this is a game that we should be in the entire night and look I'm taking Rogers over Brock pie at the end of the day you you you want to dumb it down to the smallest things it's coaching and quarterback play and while I'm not taking Salo over Kyle Shanahan I will be you give an example do the Jets utilize this Tech I'm a firm firm believer in analytics um there's actually a clip David you could watch yesterday from Brian Callahan who is talking about EPA per play and that's really taking over the league and that's that's a stat that we abide by and I abide by um the chart that Jake used to have to pull up to talk about Zach Wilson was EPA per play and while it doesn't tell you the full story it tells you how efficient the offense is being ran and um yeah I think the Jets believe in Analytics I feel like teams are more and more um getting into hiring guys that are on the analytic side of the ball I know the Ravens were one of the first teams that did that and it's now gone into like the fourth down decisions and obviously the Lions have fully bought into that with Dan Campbell being um really in on going on fourth down a lot whenever you're on the plus side of the field but you need to be in Tunes with analytics at this point in the NFL because it's kind of taken over I mean every team uses it it's just a matter of you know how they how they deploy it but 100% now you had some uh defensive metrics you wanted to go over here it's a little tough to see I'll put it up on the graphic just so people initially could see it but explain the defensive coverages here that we could be looking at for both teams in this game because this was an interesting note that you were breaking down before we started yeah so first off just in case the account sees it credit to football insights they're great on Twitter um I have like a ongoing relation ship with them and the dmss they always give me any of the stats I need the main guy's name is Nick really good guy um so yeah I just wanted to show like the 49ers Tendencies they play a lot of cover three a lot of cover four so that's going to be really interesting in the sense of like there the quarterback comes to line he looks at the safeties Rogers has said this a hundred times that where you'll know the shell of the of the defense is in the safeties so could be two guys deep or one guy deep it seems like this year I mean last year was wils they they were pretty versatile in that aspect now Nick s's a defensive coordinator I'm not really knowledgeable on what what tree he comes from but the the Jets and the Niners are similar in the sense they don't run a lot of cover zero meaning that they got four guys that are going to rush the passer they're not blitzing a lot um as you can see the Jets played a lot more cover one which is just one safety deep and then man across the board they did that 28% of the time obviously we have better cover Corners than the ners do um the 18% of the time that the the Niners could deploy cover one that's going to be Garrett Wilson the slot on Choice routes meaning left or right or you could just break it up field that's gonna be Mike Williams back shoulder routes with with one-on-one coverage so again this is just a little little chart just to show the Tendencies of the defense obviously it's going to be a a lot different come this year with a new defensive coordinator but it it's just notable in the sense I think the Jets are more notable they played a ton of cover four last year and that makes a lot of sense to me because SAU and DJ were on the outside that's essentially you run that as like a man coverage type of of shell because if the guy in front of them goes deep it's man everywhere you go we call that Meg um so yeah just tendencies that we're going to have to look at on on Monday I think most third Downs teams are playing man coverage I think that that's going to change a lot when Rogers is on the field because you're G to want to make sure that all the looks are are muddied and it's not going to be easy for him to read the defense but any man coverage you see just watch Garrett go and if they're ever in press coverage against him they're probably gonna end up doing what we call like a a twom man thing where they have a safety over the top so we're gonna have to utilize Garrett in the slot on the outside and I'm praying that Mike Williams could play on third Downs because I know that I would much rather have Mike Williams on a 50-50 ball than a guy like alen Lazard they uh said said earlier Silas said earlier Williams probably could play 60 plays but they're going to be careful with him so he feels like he's ready to go but the Jets are gonna have him on a pitch count at least to start the season right which is interesting because like then lazard's gonna get a lot of burn on Monday I I don't think it's going to be like a malikot Corley type of game he he could see 10 to 10 to 12 snaps so look it's going to be a ton of Garrett I I would be shocked if Garrett didn't have 15 targets come Monday and then lazard's going to have to make a couple plays for us we I I honestly keep forgetting Conlin's really really good over the middle of the field so watch out for him um and then you hope that on the plays that Mike Williams is in he at least takes coverage to his side to give Garr better looks or they give us one-on-one Chances with him which he will win against guys like I think it's like damor Lenor yeah who is listed at 510 and Mike Williams is 6'4 so he's a huge mismatch I I I really hope they get him on the field more than not one of my season opening night predictions Mike Williams Endzone Monday night I think he scores a touchdown I like it I like it I I think he's going to be in the game for most of the passing Downs I would hope so that may be obvious when he Subs in so maybe they'll try and do do that a bit differently but this is a really good matchup for Mike Williams he's not gonna have to see travarus Ward a lot um again dador Lenor he's a fine Corner he's a very undersized so that that's a really good matchup for for Mike if you're watching live hit the like button here's the question I have for Andrew and I want the chat to weigh in who scores the first touchdown of the game on Monday either team I'm gonna go Tyler Conlin conch I like it I like it I think odds wise that's probably really good value as well um Red Zone you guys are gonna are gonna see it Garrett is going to be getting doubled shadowed by two different guys a ton um I think the obvious answer probably is Bree I think brillan and Conlin probably have the best odds um that I could see scoring for sure Bree is my pick but Mike Williams finds the end zone later on yes sir who scores the first touchdown of the game I'm seeing some unique answers here brillan Allen nyjets Florida Rogers on a sneak Gator saying mcaffrey Minnesota jff F fin says Lazard that would be wild if it's Alan Lazard after everything he's been through with this fan base I really could see it like I'm not I could I could see that like a 100% um I I wouldn't be shocked who scores the game's first touchdown um someone wrote Charles Gorman last I checked I don't think he's he's appearing in the game but that would be something that would that would definitely be something uh Oscar the Grouch wants to know Andrew what's your go-to McDonald's chicken nugget dipping sauce um I love the the barbecu is great and then whatever like the like their like their house their house sauce I don't know the name of it um it's like the it's like it's like the Chick-fil-A sauce but for McDonald's I think it's just the um you guys got me Googling McDonald's dipping sauces for McDonald's for me it's the sweet and sour sauce sweet and sour is great as well yeah um I guess they don't have like a they don't have it here I like their honey mustard too you really can't go wrong there Pittsburgh Mike wants to know Andrew do you see Aaron Rogers game of Bing to be a bit more conservative post injury will he throw dead balls go down on the sack limit Mobility Brady did something similar in later years yeah I 100% think that would be the case for to start the year for sure um I don't think he'll go down like willingly on plays that still he feels he can make but there's two guys coming off the blitz to him he could dirt the ball yeah uh but that's on us to have answers off off him being hot meaning like if there's an unblocked rusher um the receivers have to be turned and have to be ready uh for the for the ball to come out quick again that's going to take time so yeah in the beginning of the year I could see him being a lot more conservative but hopefully as the year goes on he he feels more comfortable with the the structure of the offense there was a h fourth in one you should basically always go for it um where are you like you see in college especially schools like Tech and some other schools where they go forward on Fourth and floor over the middle you know middle of the field in between the 40s what are your thoughts on that and do you think that will move its way from college football into the NFL anywhere in the foreseeable future so you're saying like on their own 40 if it's like fourth in three or you'll see Tech fourth and four or less you'll see Tech go for it or if it's a two-possession game in the fourth quarter Tech just plays basically four down football right because now it just becomes we don't have enough possessions and like fourth and 12 right and they beat Texas this way a couple years ago right because they just kept going forward on fourth down they kept getting it um you know it's risky and you see teams like Tech do because Tech do it because they don't have the talent to compete so now they playing four down football to try it and even that out I like it a lot you know do you think it makes its way over to the NFL over time where you see teams start going for it more on fourth down especially in between the 40s haven't we seen that have we seen more teams go for it on fourth down in recent years than any other year prior kind of sort of but like I'm not yeah I see what you mean not before
