Going To Colorado For A Subaru

we're about to pass Lal and we are headed for Paradox Colorado we just got called from Sheriff's Department there's a lady stuck up here in her Subaru up on the road up here there's been some issues anyway EMS is heading up there now check her out make sure everything's okay we've got coordinates from the uh sheriff's department so we're going to head up here and see what we can do see what's going on we're in Colorado this is cool I've definitely never been here before all right we have arrived we're going to go talk to people and see what's going on so yeah we uh looked at the Subaru we checked it out the steering is totally gone they're not stuck in the ditch they just have no steering it's all electronic steering so we don't know whether the pump went out we don't know whether the steering wheel's locked we don't know like it you cannot turn that thing this is a very modern car 2024 yeah so we're going to have to bring a trailer up here and get it we're coming this way to look and see how bad this is to bring the trailer up this way yeah this road is not bad like we drove across Way bumpier Road like this is the best road we've been on yeah and there's cooler rocks look at the cooler rocks down there there check it out it's early it's 7:00 and we're rolling out going get fuel yeah we're getting an early start today hoping maybe we can beat the heat a little bit Yeah I think they're calling for like 106 or something like that woo going to be a hot day okay Mike is doing some intense internet research over here trying to figure out trying to learn about the uh electronic power steering that we're going to look at on this 2024 Subaru and results are it's electric and I'm wondering I found a picture of the steering rack and the wires seem to go underneath it I'm wondering if we didn't spunch a wire going to the electronic power steering so I'm wondering if we shouldn't Jack it up and at least see if we can put some wires back together I don't know it was just a thought it's a 2024 that's a dealer issue oh yeah no we're loading on a Traer trailer all right here it is this is Paradox Valley Super hazy because of a bunch of forest fires nearby all right so we turned off of the main Highway we go through this Canyon and anyways Rory had a genius idea we just had the master plan we dropped trailer here we take the trailer we head this way cuz cut across and go up you run the Narita to pick her up we'll go load the car up and come down we'll meet you at the bridge down there and then we can swap the trailer and then you guys can head for and then then we're not backtracking all this different run around dump stop you know I was thinking on the way over we could have just put Blue on here oh yeah idiot yeah it's it's Tuesday it's F Tuesday no I was oh wait no it's Wednesday he's headed to the r13 road about a mile mile and a half past hanging Flume yes mile mile and a half is the epitome of all directions if you can incorporate that in your giving of directions you are living well very well sometimes a plan comes together other right on time yeah all right so right up here we have two rivers come together all right we had to come check it out this one's super clear this one much less clear very silty and then right here check it out if I was a fish I think I'd want to live in this River oh yeah and then up here this is where he that hanging Flume those little posts coming out of the wall so right up there they did a little reconstruction of what The Flume was way back [Music] when it's super cool putting her in low range this right here is the whole reason for four-wheel drive and low range this right here oh yeah look at that yeah it's Steep and it's a little bit loose all right here we are jump out go turn around okay so we's going to go up here get turned around and we'll get let's set up to load up the [Music] vehicle So based on our internet research there are multiple fuses that could be involved D in the power steering on this vehicle we're going to see if things have changed if maybe today the steering wheel turns does not seem to be the case goad and start it up and put it in neutral drive forward [Music] easy little bit hold up hold up [Music] [Music] [Music] all right Rory pointed out that on the passenger side of this vehicle you can see where the skid plate has come up and touched the power steering rack and pinion it has it has touched it very inappropriately in addition to some other skdy marks on the car but basically the rack and pinion is damaged and that's why it's doing what it's doing basically this car should not be here just absolutely not and I know the Subaru guys are going to lose their mind and I don't care I really don't cuz just no yeah must have been whatever's broke up in there yeah when I got it to turn a little bit it cuz there's that there's a big piece right here so it's a standard rack and pinion so the steering goes straight into the rack yeah the steering wheel go straight into the rack and then it has an electric pump that runs the power steering to make it easier to turn okay but like the rack right there is smashed up and you can see it's twisted so something in the gear box that operates it is just smudged okay so we would literally have to break it yeah to get some steering out of it [Music] right down there is a bridge and at that bridge is where we're going to meet up with Sean putting her and super low keep it nice double low so theine can do the braking not brakes [Music] [Music] [Music] look at that they made it probably like 10 minutes or so all right look who's here it's Sean yeah so I'm going to send Mike with you all right cuz it's going to be a nightmare to get it off of there okay hey trees get out of my way blocking The View look at them all there we go look at this it's super neat Gateway Colorado okay I'm made back to Moab just ran and grabbed some lunch so we going to head out to the shop have lunch uh Mike and Sean should be getting pretty close to having the the Subaru unloaded so we'll check on them see how they're doing check it out we got the car offloaded and we are at the subar dealer and we are going to go to Panda Express get us some lunch if we can get out of here yeah if we can make it out of this parking lot I'm not worried 's got this we just had lunch we're headed back to Moab we got Panda Express success Mikey finally got his Panda Express after how many months it's been a while but it was a good it was a good while good good stuff they even had the spicy orange chicken oh my God we're going to get back on the interstate and Jet back to Moab so see you guys in Moab bye I don't know if you guys can see this let me try and zoom in here along the edge of that Cliff there is apparently a flume and it was used to supply water for gold mining what an incredibly huge project this is 13 mil long The Flume theing Flume to yeah to divert water and and take it over there and whatever that's that's how that's that's an incredible amount of work people are wild that is impressive well that and then imagine how how heavy that volume of water is you know that's a substantial amount a yeah Mass oh but I mean like hanging from up there on a on a rope drilling a hole oh yeah you know super exciting I don't know what it is leave a comment below if you do I need that in my
