And the concern over the peaceful transfer of power. Looking back at January 6th in the Capitol riots, obviously that has special significance to those of us right here in the area. Now, when asked about that day, former President Trump said, he quote, just showed up for a speech and then made a claim about DC Mayor Mariel Bowser and he joins us. Now, uh, she has a, uh, a brand new response from, from D CS mayor. Yeah. Yeah. Immediately after the 90 minute debate ended DC. Mayor Muriel Bowser fired off a message on social media in response to a statement Trump made during the debate. I want you to take a listen to what he said. I went to Nancy Pelosi and the mayor of Washington DC and the mayor put it back in writing as you know, I said, you know, this is gonna be a very big rally or whatever you wanna call it. And again, it wasn't done by me, it was done by others. I said, I'd like to give you 10,000 National Guard or soldiers. They rejected me. OK? So in response, I wanna show you the message that I found on our official account on X, the mayor said on January 6th, Trump summoned a violent mob and dispatched them to the US Capitol. Trump never offered DC 10,000 troops and the president, not the DC mayor controls the DC National Guard. Unlike Trump, we immediately offered the DC Metropolitan Police Department to support the US Capitol Police. We owe the DC police and the US Capitol Police are never ending gratitude for saving our capital and democracy. Directly from the mayor's ex account. Uh This claim by the mayor is backed up by the final report by the bipartisan select committee to investigate the January 6th attacks. It is determined that there was quote, no evidence to support Mr Trump's claim wisdom. All right, 609 is the time.
