Oscar Piastri Post Race Interview Italian GP 2024

hello everyone Welcome to our Channel we have Oscar p on the interview let's watch together through the start Tau me through lap one the move past Lando he said to us and I get it emotions are high after a race he said maybe it was a little bit too close but talk me through it from your point of view and and how it all played out I thought it was a good move um I broke late and uh left left plenty of space and uh you know we got through ons skate and um I knew I had to to do that to try and give myself the best chance to win the race so for me it was good how could you have won that race today what differently what could have been done differently I should say just pitted once um at the time to any point was there a choice or is it just on the cards not really I mean we uh yeah we we thought from pretty early on it was a two stop um you know I knew that that Lando had pitted onto a two stop obviously and it just felt very risky to try and go for a one at that point you my left front tire was was very grained and uh I had still have to do 15 more laps so um yeah obviously in hindsight staying out would have been the right thing but you know I think in Charles's position if the One Stop didn't work for him he would have finished third and if he did a two stop he would have finished third so why not try something a bit different in case it works and uh yeah when you're leading the race it's um yeah a tough decision to make were you surprised by the pace at the end were you surprised by sh's Pace at the end because trying to catch him just I mean you got within two seconds in the end but it just wasn't enough um yeah I mean I was uh I think the pace was about what I expected it was just that I was hoping he was going to fall off a bit um I think he kind of went through the same kind of graining and then it it seemed to clear up for him which I didn't expect uh you know in in all of practice and even on the Medium as soon as the the front tires started to grain it was basically game over um so yeah I was a bit surprised that it it kind of came back to him and he could maintain that pace um yeah just obviously in hindsight it's it's a a great thing to know but um at the time I think what we did was a sensible strategy and the team going forward now I mean it could have been with a one two it could have been at least level on point at the top of the constructors as it is there's a 10-point gap to Red Bull right now to the team what what do you expect the team to say to you this evening do you think everyone's happy or are there plans going forward where actually we need to set even more rules than just the papaya rolles I guess I don't think so I mean we're both racing drivers we're you know we still got eight more races left and I gave myself the best chance to win that race and uh you know race wins don't come around very often we got three between us so um you know it's always a difficult decision of course um but yeah you know we of course are a bit disappointed I guess that we're not first and second and we're second and third but uh yeah for me it was a sensible strategy just yeah you know I think those are kind of Championship winning days obviously not race winning days but uh yeah uh you know I think there was probably a more than 50/50 chance that that goes wrong and uh uh you know you can kick yourself at the end of the day of a long Championship with with if that kind of thing goes wrong obviously now it hurts um but if it had have gone wrong and we had have lost the champion the constructors by that amount of points you know I think we would have felt pretty pretty terrible in the year thank you through the start talk me through lap one the move pass yeah all right Oscar gave his best but he has been from from Miami let's say it like that from Miami yeah from Miami or from yeah from Miami he has been started to be much more selfish and uh that's my honest opinion I just want to clarify that he has been uh very selfish towards his teammate Landon Norris and the team of M Laren has been giving him Wings let's say like that to to to not care about anything else but look only at himself and try to gain points and he's been doing that and he doesn't care if Lando is competing for the driver Championship or not or whatever he's just driving and looking for himself uh I don't know like I couldn't have done that if I was if I was in this place I would have looked to help Lando even if I hadn't had a chance to be on Podium I would have have helped Lando uh earn more points and uh get more closer to Max ver stappen in pointwise I don't know if that's what I think and uh hopefully I'm not wrong but it is what it is thank you everyone for watching this video with us please don't forget to like And subscribe our Channel if you have something to add up comment down below and I'll see you in the next one ciao
