on a man man my cousin man you know uh Dey [ __ ] that who had was it Minnesota or the Giants last year man this [ __ ] going into the game talking about I'm I'm uh I'm I'm I'm tanking this year I'm like what [ __ ] I said what the [ __ ] you mean I said what you talking about you tanking bro I said you do know that uh majority of everybody play that first two three years after that four fifth year you kind of like just barely catching on on the game I said BR everybody trying to get they stuff ready now bro you you tanking now like a man I'm just trying to get this pick I said bro you need to you going to mess up all your players for one pick then he backed out got blew out by no how said yeah I told you I was tanking I could have went that SC I said nah you couldn't do nothing boy I seen all L running back searching for a hole I'm like bro you Ain nobody's tanking like that man especially the first two say I said why you think everybody doing all trying to get all the good players now cuz this the time where you can just get you good uh run on the first year everybody still learning how to play got him down really confident throw and catch there big the H moving quickly to the line many times the H have had a dnam threat running the ball at quarterback but you got to be efficient like this in the passing game no doubt and you got have come on man let get seven on me like that down the field in the passing game to make you honored get some guys out of the box so it's not just running quarterback all the time looking to pass on second down and this sophomore able to wreak some havoc and get the sack third down following the sack by the D from the gun wants to pass and picked off just a small return but a big it now at the 45 well statistically this defense is not one of the better units against the pass they're trying to change that here today what a great job tracking the ball down making a play on it stabbing it out of the air for a big interception early that should be massive for their confidence here comes the offense on first down pulls and fires complete he Dro down and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land expect him to dve talk about tackling the catch you saw it right there there was nowhere for that receiver to go he had possession as a result no game he could have used a little bit more there pick up of three it's third and S oh man there's some big hitting going on in the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game and see if they can contain this running attack Smith dropping to pass looking to the big tight end fires into traffic it's picked off trying to take it back ah give you one ah man in on both sides of the ball interception on the first drive of the game and now they come out and this defense gets a pick in return there are a lot of dudes in the back end with speed with the ability to close what a phenomenal play by that young man just now to get the ball back to his offense at the 35 he's open will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense defense is going to have their hands full trying to stop this guy they better rally to the football and get multiple hats cuz he is not easy to bring down from the 22 on First and 10 might as well give it to him again determined effort to pick up six and get it inside the Red Zone and down to the 16 and the hes will hustle to the line on second down just keeps firing nowhere close on that one as he got drilled trying to deliver the foot B and now they face third down we're already in the first quarter but already you get the feeling this could be a long day for this QB he's already been sacked he gets hit right there on the incomplete throw they've got to find a way to do a better job up front of protecting this guy or it's going to be difficult to put up points couldn't find his man last time now they'll have to convert third and four quarterback making adjustments with his receivers wants to throw it's Dr he got it and he will score touchdown Virginia tackle and what a nice start for this offense the throw game getting working getting the touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this offense and the extra point makes it seven nothing about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown and be overdoing it keeping it away from The Return Man as the kickoff goes out of bounds the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty offense getting set for first [Applause] down snags it quickly on the left in college football you see this a ton now you use a quick passing game basically is the running game get a few yards get your offense ahead of the sticks keeps it for Success they ran it on first down now on second they'll ride the running back and leave it with him and he didn't have a whole lot of operating room after he DED and he stopped for a short gain I think you run that play so you stay out of third and long third and long is not where an offense ever wants to drive third and medium hey I'm good with that so you run that play to make sure you're set up for a good third down bully ball on Third and short gets it all the way down to the 39 yd line it'll be a first down well if at first you don't succeed try try again right it's been really hard for this offense in this game to run the football but they finally break off a big run there that could be the play they need to really generate momentum and get this run game nowhere to run on that when he loses four on the car couldn't get him blocked on that last one now it's second and 14 that intercepted I'm to get him out of there man that boy that boy is looking real suspect Eng this is obviously not a great start for this quarterback here two interceptions already in this game he's got to do a much better job with his decision Mak and Virginia Tech sends the offense onto the field boy David they would love to stack another touchdown on top of that last Drive and this offense did such a good job on the last Drive everything in Rhythm moved the ball down the field didn't make those mistakes Jesse and they need to do it get on this one yeah you're right they had the defense on their heels you wonder what sort of communication was going on that sideline what sort of changes were they able to make because they got to stop the bleeding right now after the productive first down play it's second and six to the air it's drones fir ball in the air intercepted and we know turnover margin is a huge part of winning ball games interception number two this quarterback has to do a better job taking care of the football Don't Force It take the high completion percentage stuff don't always try to go for the big play the Houston offense ready to go back to work one of the most valuable things a quarterback can have David shortterm memory memory just forget that last pick you're dang right clear the mechanism it's over move it behind some players can't do that real well and it leads to more mistakes Jesse you got to just forget about it and move on and I think the coaching staff can help him too David I think you can get the running game going here and also give him some easy throws pulls and throws off the RPO they stop him almost immediately short gain there still a little ground cover pick up the first well we knew coming into this game offense was going to try and get this receiver involved and get him involved early so here they are just finding an easy completion it's not a touchdown but they just want to get this guy lathered up and get him into a r they'll try to run for it that'll be enough for the first down as they mark it down at the 31 yd line first for the [Applause] that's hon z Houston coming to the line with a new set of downs secondary walks up on the line showing press coverage he'll come out throwing on first down finds his tight endend and they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down looking at a second and short [Applause] now from the gun the ground game they get him on the ground but it's a first down Houston wants to play [Applause] Fast the Smith wants the and he is wide Defenders all over the field his third interception of the day come on man he got to go he got to go man he got to go that bbody the midle nobody open and if I'm the QB man I don't need to force it I Don't Force It In The Tight Windows if it's not there he throws it unfortunately gets the interception bad decision by the QB there and you can forget running in the middle against this defense on the how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 he's looking to throw unleashes one deep throw into the end zone it's picked off really nice focus by this sophomore and he jumped on his chance to make a play that's one of those throws he tried to give it some touch and as soon as it left his hand you know he was thinking no no no please bring it back bring it back as a quarterback Reese you got to throw the ball with conviction generally when you do when you throw it harder often times you're a lot more accurate all of a sudden now you try to take something off you're trying to throw the perfect spiral and cut the wind and your accuracy goes down and that was an example there erant throw on the interception defense impressed coverage wide receiver coming across in motion touch pass on the Jet [Applause] Sweep and they'll pick up the first down and Mark it at the 47 I love that play call and I love the timing of the pre- snap motion because the qub back was able to get it to the receiver right behind the offensive line because of the timing he was able to outflank the defense that puts him out in space where he's able to use his speed nice job with the pre- snap motion and tight that back had absolutely nowhere to run the football actually is he counting I think he's counting to make sure there's only 11 guys on defense now the play fake gets away throws for the tight end just flying through the air like a superhero to make the grab man I I love those guys that are willing to put their body on the line and he does it right here man just lays out that Ball's coming in you can see it from several yards out making that play laying out keeping the football from touching the turf great concentration great effort by the receiver you know I think a big part of this isn't necessarily scoring a touchdown on that plate but you're just trying to get your offensive line in the rhythm of the game let those Big Fellas get lathered on Smith dropping to pass and he was hit just as he was releasing the pass and it falls to the ground incomplete doesn't take this defense a lot of time to get to the quarterback man they've got speed all over the place they hit him so quickly and because of that the ball Falls incomplete on third down he drops to throw fires to the middle another interception that's his fourth of the day looking for more room the 30 running inside the 20 and he's going to run it all the way back touchdown H look I know it's only the second quarter but we're starting to see a pretty sign gap devel between team yeah he got to come out man I don't know what he doing that boy out of there we have to stop throwing when time Bo you can't go jump back and forth this mad and this uh College yeah man I'm CAD this I don't see Jim bran MCN out there team has struggled to pull away they're up by seven over Liberty we'll Circle back if anything big happens you should know that and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere Houston sending the offense back onto the field this possession will be a test after squandering that long drive throwing a pick six Jesse you're right reys well I think this is really dependent too on the leaders in this huddle right now to step up and help this offense get back on Pace here on this drive yeah and this defense is frothing at the M they're excited they're jacked up they just made a big play they got all the momentum so they're ready to hunt on second down he'll let it fly they've got the screen set up oh what to move delivers to stiff ripped off a huge chunk play on that one as he gets the first down before he steps out of bounds and now a fresh set of downs for this offense going up top on first down fires to the big fella and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play that throw and catch a really good example of why coaches don't want a quarterback to get stuck on a particular Target isn't it David yep it's exactly right find the guy who's open because you got so many guys that have so much speed that do so much damage on the field find my match up get it to him let him do the rest couldn't make the play last time now it's second and 10 from the 30 DB's lock up tight on the receivers throws to the wide out it's caught touchdown Houston hello made the grab and finished the deal in the end zone that passing touchdown man that should spark this whole team I had take that like they got the touchdown they cut into the lead you want to get a stop and go into the half get all the juices all the excitement and be like listen the passing game's rolling we got this The Comebacks in full effect almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown what the hell from inside the 15 here comes the return needed just a little more help turn that into a big return they'll Mark him down at the 29 and we're about to get another look at this Hoke offense the state are going to happen as they did on that last drive now how will they respond Jesse and this is the kind of guy who's going to take full accountability that was my bad that's on me I'm about to lead this offense now down the field to score some points dang I wish I would have played with you I didn't play with many quarterbacks that were just like yeah my bad hey guys I got this sorry about that it was more should have ran a better route got some of the work done on first now let's see what they have on second down dropping back it's drones he's got the tight end they're able to get him stopped just shy of the first down marker a nice job by the defense there tacking the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game and aot lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to doid heuck and excellent Vision to find Running Room there and make a really good pick up before the defense put a stop to it they're going to go right back to him on first down and the running back didn't get much there nice job by the defense you can tell they're focused in on this running back on this run game being physical getting knock backs and liviing his carries from the gun give on the inside and they'll stop him just short of the first down just inches away from moving the steps they'll try to pick it up on the ground and I don't think he got it the defense Stands Tall on Third and inches the offense uses a timeout to stop the clock and they get a quick [Applause] breather they'd be looking at a 53 yd field goal from here instead they'll try to pick it up on fourth down he'll sneak it and try to Surge forward will not get there a fourth down stop great job by the defense there on fourth down I'll say this QB sneaks are not a guaranteed play that you're going to get on offense everybody thinks it is you dial it up it's an automatic first not the case that time the defensive line was lower they got more push there was just nowhere for the quarterback to go great job by the big trying to start the drive with a pass he lets it Fly it's complete a huge pickup and perhaps a touchdown saving tackle as they get him down at the 37 and this defense is going to have their hands full because they're to need to be comfortable with guys one-on-one on islands in the perimeter of the field and they're just going to have to make better plays than what we saw right there they knew this offense was going to try to be aggressive got to need better effort in the back end for this defense moving forward unloads to the wide out excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away as a quarterback this is going to be a very tough game you're going up against one of the top 20 units in the entire country they know who your primary target is they're going to be keying on him just like they did that last time forcing the incompletion PA to fire on second down pressure is effective from the defense they knock him down just behind the Midfield strike at the 48 clock winding toward zero they'll get one more snap off on Third and long he'll have to turn it loose deep can't make the connection incomplete pass and one second remains great job by the defense dialing up some pressure on third down they hit the quarterback and force the incompletion on fourth down they're taking to the air deep shot for the End Zone incomplete he took a shot on the final play of the quarter and couldn't quite find his man we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connors in our half update the kickoff unit about to go to [Applause] work no return coming he'll call for the fair Catch e e here comes the Houston offense once again those two first half turnovers really damaging in the primary reason they find themselves trailing to start the third quarter and this is an offense that Prides themselves on taking care of the football and then having explosive plays you know they're playing angry right now they're mad they know they're the reason why they're down in this game so I expect them to come out here lighting it up here up the first drive of the second half yeah and this defense playing fast playing physical forcing things into action forcing those turnovers that played really well in this first half this is where you make the money on the drive ball at the 30 it's third and short the corners are walked up tight looking to throw on third oh they really could have used that catch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down Houston will be forced to punt first time today we've seen a punter go to work gets the first one of the day off and hoping he's not as busy as he was in that loss last week when he kicked it four [Applause] [Music] [Music] times and Virginia Tech sends the offense on to the field they've got it back after that last Drive stalled out and they were stopped on fourth down David yeah and they put a little bit of a drive together but Jesse they stalled on the other side of the field and they got to find a way to keep that momentum going as they get closer to the end zone I agree I I do like their mindset though and I think they need to continue being aggressive moving forward in this game [Applause] and here comes the offense on second down quarterback checking off to the air it's drones throws to the tight end it's it's caught downfield brought down to the ground but he has up for the first down love that throw I'll tell you keeps making more of those Lane stadium in this incredible crowd is going to be going nuts we've called games here plenty times in the past this is one of the best venues in all of college football and this guy right now is heating up at the QP position watch out it's going to be a sonic boom in hit hard just as he released it on first down and just couldn't get it to the receiver back to the air one more time with the catch it's Thomas and he's able to shed one tackle but still just a very short game you know it's funny I know running backs often times are afterthoughts when it comes to the passing game but when you think about it this guy's been making people miss his entire life taking handoff so why wouldn't you try to get him involved in the passing game as well you just saw in that last play how dangerous he is after the catch they've got to get the football to the 32 to pick up the first down tun trying to move the sticks on third down through the air and the quarterback will be slung down back at the 43 and how about the defense getting home with the pass rush playing man coverage in the back end you need to win up front those guys got to get to the quarterback do a great job rushing the passer I can play man when I got a pass rush like that bro I had to bench that dude man the uh my starting quarterback man I threw four picks first half yeah I said him down and the ball comes to rest right there H I'm down buddy the Houston offense comes onto the field last time David it was 1 two three kick last out of his hands so quickly that's why he seems like he's in a great L Knocked Down at the 29 after a pick up of four it's a nice game but the big theme Here is they just haven't been able to get the Run game going on offense they've been very onedimensional they just not being physical enough they probably feel good about their field goal chances from the 29 but they'd love to convert this third and short he behind the line ofage that'll be a Los of came up on that so that they'll need to convert on this fourth down Corners right up on that line of [Applause] scrimmage Tove alive some people won't like that but I like agiv who they are as an off so it's okay to be aggressive but I know one thing now after thatth down stop and your trailing I'm going to need my defense to be aggressive it's going to be a big possession right here in the fourth quar to get the football back and Virginia Tech sends the off onto the field he's looking to throw it doing what he does best he can [Applause] move and exped thatt spot boy who is it what a beautiful throw and catch on this I love the job sleep tracking the ball in the air nice job of locating the throw and then hauling it in they'll try to keep this clock moving on the ground go this offense thinks that they have enough left in the tank here to run the footb and run all the time off the didn't get the first down on that last one but it's not going to surprise anybody if they turn around hand it off again here that should have been a pck six when I car get in didn't get much on first down it's second and nine quarterback checking the play off play action that pass is incomplete and they probably forunate that it wasn't knock free for a fumble well this defense felt coming into the game that if he was going to try to throw from the pocket they could get to him and affect his accuracy and they did on that last play got it they couldn't connect on second down now staring at a third and nine [Applause] easy to the air it's drones throws for the tight end let's go and is the occasion when you're happy to see fourth down but it's better than throwing another pick I tell you what I don't know if the offense was expecting man coverage that time field go ranger expecting it to be Zone instead they lock him up manto man everybody on an island everybody W they get the incompletion Now setting up [Applause] fourth on fourth down trying to find his man yo come on man why my [ __ ] quter this see yeah I need you can't you got to let them pick the stuff theyel thenis CU I'm hting triang and he just fing down bro game situ here comes the Houston offense once again there have been a couple of missed opportunities for these offenses in the last couple of drives Jesse and I think for this offense here it'd be nice to hit an explosive and the a lot of wait till he clear it the first play that can get you going the QB just kept backing up and going backwards and that is not the start to the drive they were looking looking to throw on second down he's got it oh let's go get out of there y slow ass tack on this dude is a good idea they needed it but he still got the first down and I love the awareness by the wide receiver on that play because I'm not sure that route was supposed to be that deep you got to wonder if the receiver decided maybe to adjust the route a little bit to make sure that he got the first down and he was on his way gets it all the way to the 38 in search of that tying touchdown they've moved the chains a couple of times it's first and 10 again he was to throw they're trying to get to it hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and never had a chance great job of timing the Blitz and calling it at a perfect moment when the offense was going to drop back and throw they're able to get to him hit him they don't get the sack but they do affect his accuracy and Falls incomplete fires to the anded turn from the defense that's weak man good return the interception and the senior just snatched the out of the and it back to his big I can't I can't do this time momentum late in the game when you already got a lead nice job D and we're about to get another look at this hookie offense back to throw it's drones guys you want to be productive here and not go into a shell but You' got to take of the yeah at Point the game is running the clock and first it don't matter bro cuz I just can't read this that's why a lot of press on an off I'm pretty sure going give it's probably man coverage probably get BL that's going to be into a small window it is not easy to ex this situ wide [Music] open the after kid the field in an instant and he has it down the 25 yd line man this offense is so dangerous re they've got dudes all over the field that can make plays there's a big gainer in the pass game you get a chunk of yards like that now the defense is really on its heels [Applause] you know you want to [Applause] go yeah smart move to keep it on the ground defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense smart offense I love it man make them use that timeout run the football I can run the football and let that clock now tick inside of a minute I'm in great situation to win this football game just be smart and keep that thing they'll be perfectly content to go right back to the ground here on second and Dam bro I'm looking for finally makes the after the S run and good gain and the no that's say some money use the running game on First andal and he roll they push that lead out a really good opportunity to get back in the wind column that is exactly what you want your offense to do you wanted to eat clock but if you score go up by two possessions na coff great execution by this offense to put this game up to one more on that LE I did all let practicing on that running and that not messed up line finnesse endured a hostile crowd and the challenge that always comes with playing away from rocking top and the BS came away with a win it wasn't a blowout but it is a w it's one game you don't want to react too much either way but I think both teams will leave this one with some things to work on moving forward and Kevin Conor is keeping an eye on everything all over the country sounds like they had a good one there to the tie endend the5 comp out ofs but he has his off rolling with first down they really got things moving on this drive second play of the drive comes from the 37 he wants a big play here late and he throws his third of the day his head has to be spinning and they capitalize not only but the great return to the off tremend fi position that the what a great break on the football getting the big turnover you got the lead now just go out there be smart on offense and run that [Music] clock kind of that [ __ ] with you kind of crazy man when you know you beat yourself knees on vict yeah and this offense has done their job man they've been so prodive built the leaden don't sit right with you man now Jessie you get to Exhale you get to breathe and you know we got the W and we played well and we got to think about where we're taking our girlfriend and parents for dinner right what side are we ordering with our giant steak we've earned it in this game now it's time to go celebrate after getting knocked back to open this drive it's second and 12 quarterback extends the play going to try to get it himself at the 35 he's got room they're able to make the stop but a little extra icing on this winning this one winning those individual 6C battles every play
