Bachelorette Episode 4 Review: I'd Rather Jenn Pick Sam M Over Devin So They Can Argue on IG Live

was the case half of these contestants wouldn't even be [Music] here hi everyone my name is Demitri and welcome back to Demitri tube The Bachelorette night four let's talk about it as always if you're enjoy my videos please go ahead and pound that like button pound that subscribe button and ring that notification Bell I'm a growing YouTuber and like subscrib really help me out so before we get started let me just say this episode had everything drama arguments romance lust friendship New Zealand glamour outfits like it literally had everything the only thing that was missing was that so this episode overall was like fairly serious if they had edited in a way to make it more lighthearted I would have enjoyed it more cuz I will say I did enjoy on like older Seasons when they make it more lighthearted next a lot of people in the comments are getting confused in terms of my feelings regarding Devin and Sam M and I'm going to clear this up in terms of Sam M and Devin arguing in the house and not getting along just within that argument nothing to do with Jen I'm on team Sam M and I'm going to die on this hill because for me Devon just does too much and he instigates too much so I'm on Sam M's side now when it comes to Sam M and Devon in terms of fighting for Jen's love I don't think Jen should pick either of them they are both bad options and I think she should just go with another contestant but we are going to talk about that more in the video and that's all I got let's dive into the episode and talk about the intro package during the intro Jesse Palmer and Jen have a one-on-one and he talks about why you're not allowed to eat during the dates anymore on the show and Jesse Pal bringing this up was just like really corny like I I get why production is bringing this up to kind of like be more fun but like I don't know this was just really unnecessary like if you're going to talk about stuff from behind the scenes can you at least talk about something juicy like I really don't care why they don't eat on camera anyway so apparently they don't eat on camera anymore because during Jesse season it was like hard to hear him talk through all of the eating and like I watched his season but keep in mind I watched his season after I had watched a bunch of more recent seasons and like yes it was a little difficult to hear him but it was just more drawing to watch people eat on camera because I had watched so many seasons when they didn't so I was just shocked next I don't know if y'all caught this but in the intro Jen tells Jesse Palmer she's excited for engagement and then like 2 minutes later she picked Sam M for the one-on-one date and that was just so unserious to me for the date Sam M and Jen go to the top of this like really tall building they never said what the name of the building was like is it called sky jump or is the event they did called sky jump like I don't I don't think they ever mentioned it but the building looks like that space I think it's called the Space Needle in Seattle it it looks like that building that tall famous building in Seattle anyways so for the date Sam M and Jen get in some suits and they jump off the building but before they jump off the building Sam M and Jen have like a one-on-one beforehand and this scene was very interesting during this whole scene I was just like what is going on so a server comes in to let Sam M and Jen know that they're at the sky jump and they have the opportunity to like jump off the building and Sam immediately says okay let's do it and Jen immediately claps back and is like sir this is a two-person decision and Jen gets annoyed because Sam made the decision for her but during this whole moment I was like is she really mad like it was tough for me to like read her emotions also it was very hard for me to take her serious because she just jumped out of a plane like 2 weeks ago and now she's complaining about this like to me this seems like a cakewalk compared to jumping out of a plane and at one point Jen was arguing that jumping out of a plane is completely different from this because you're at the top of the building you could see the ground it feels different or something and I totally get being afraid of heights but if you were able to jump out of a plane you could definitely do this and not only that Jen is barely above 100 lb I'm sure so this tether is like not going to break if you were like Brett and you had to do this I could totally understand the fear cuz you would be worried that the tether would break but she's light and I would be a little petty I would be like wait a couple weeks ago you were down to jump out of a plane with Marcus but now you're not down to jump off a building with me anyways Jen pulls out all the dramatic she is completely scared terrified to jump off this building and she's not getting any support from Sam and at one point she even says I feel like I'm up here by myself So eventually Sam gets it and he hugs her and starts to support her etc etc but at one point I don't know if y'all caught this Sam was like laughing at her after that Jen says she feels supported by Sam and she says he ultimately shows up for me and then after that point the editing got a little weird cuz Sam was basically like oh you don't have to jump off the building buing if you don't want to and it looks like they're walking back but I'm pretty sure production made her jump off this building like there was this moment when she was ready to walk back and like the sky jump instructor the cameras production were like all looking back at her like n girl you're jumping off this building today and let's be real y'all they closed down the entire building for the day for ABC production in exchange for free promotion of the Auckland sky jump so she has to jump off the building it's part of the promotion deal and she faces her fears and ends up jumping off the building and basically throughout the whole date she really wants to get deeper with Sam M but at the end of the day portion of this date it was clear to me that whether or not she gets emotionally deeper with this man she's still taking him to Fantasy Suites like it really doesn't matter and then we move on to the night portion of the DAT and I don't know if y'all caught this but Sam M was definitely wearing white socks and he was not wearing like a dress shoe it was more of like an athletic shoe it looked a mess and he really should have worn a pocket square or I would have appreciated a tie just to look more formal he kept his shirt open and he wore a chain under it he clearly wanted to show off the chain but I wish he would have looked more formal for this like bro you are a front runner like pull it together and I know I keep dragging this man but also his suit could have been more tailored like I don't I don't think he got his suit tailored it looked a little big and like if you're a guy going on this show yes I know it's expensive for both men and and women to go on the show but please if you're a guy going on the show get your suits tailored like it's not that expensive and it's worth it because the suits will just look better on you and you'll just look that much better on camera and if y'all didn't know this if you're a contestant in terms of clothes it's way harder and more expensive for women than it is for men like if you're starting from scratch I think it would be tougher for women because it would be more expensive to get gowns that are suitable for the show whereas men all you need are like three different color suits suits and then as long as you pair it with a few different shirts ties pocket squares and maybe like get a few turtlenecks or something you'll be fine oh and get the suits tailored anyways going back to the night portion of the date between Sam M and Jen Jen asks Sam what do you need from a relationship that love that I want is wild it's very passionate and intimate I understand the feeling of wanting to be a better person for the person in front of you every day after that Jen talks about herself which is actually like kind of unusual for the night portion of these dates usually it's the contestant sharing their stories but Jen talks about the story we've heard a few times now about how she didn't have a good role model for Love from her parents and sometimes she feels unworthy and Sam responds and gives his story and he says he was previously engaged and as soon as he got engaged the relationship instantly deteriorated and he found out there was another man in the picture shortly after Sam explains this story he also says expressing my feelings through words has never been a strong suit for me clearly and then after that Sam ends up getting the rose Sam and Jen have a very hot make out and Jen ends up straddling him throughout most of it and we also get a confessional and Jen admits she's fing for Sam so just a few things I want to say about this first Sam M and Jen look really good together like personalities aside if you just just look at them as a couple I think they're the best looking couple out of all the contestants I mean you could also make an argument about Spencer and Jen as well next when you are looking for a partner you are never going to have it all you need to find who is the right fit for you and I'm sure you've all heard the hit summer song I'm looking for a man in finance trust fund 65 blue eyes the chances of you finding someone with every perfect quality is probably not going to happen and Sam m is a perfect example of that Sam is hot and out of all the contestants I'm pretty sure Jen is the most physically attracted to him but at the same time he doesn't seem to be the smartest guy nor is he the most emotionally supportive as a viewer watching the dynamic between Jen and Sam M during the sky jump me as well as I'm sure all of you could see from space that Sam needed to go comfort her but Sam just really was not getting it it took him a minute to catch on and I think Sam has the capacity to do it but he's just not always the quickest guy and if she chooses him he's not going to be the best guy in terms of emotions out of the options that she does have now Sam may not be the best with his emotions but he's hot and he's a general contractor and can probably remodel your kitchen so what's more important to you you want a man who's super emotional or you want a new remodeled kitchen the choice is yours and like all jokes aside Jen needs to decide how much emotions she needs from a man because with Sam M she's probably not going to get that much but with some other contestants she can get a lot more and like no shade I could totally see Jen picking Sam M because often times a lot of women will claim they want a man who's more emotional but then after they are presented with more emotional men they end up picking the guy's best friend instead of them next this date is also just so fascinating because us as viewers we can all see that Sam m is just not the one but Jen in the moment is just so attracted to him and she really just cannot see the bigger picture it's very clear to us that she is letting lust run her decisions but I don't think she herself can really see that and y'all the last thing I want to say about these two before we move on it is very clear that she should not pick Sam M but y'all if she chooses him imagine the drama we will get normally after a season ends I do not follow the couples but this is a couple that I would follow on social media after the season ends I could totally see them arguing on Tik Tok live and I would be very entertained and not only that I'm pretty sure they both would air everything on social and I would I would watch the train wre after that we move on to the group date and for the group date the guys play rugby which if y'all didn't know playing rugby is very d dangerous it's almost like playing football just without any pads sidebar I have a friend who plays rugby and I hang with him and his friends sometimes and they're trying to get me to join the rugby team and I'm like absolutely not like if I break my nose out there y'all are not going to want to watch me on YouTube and also while the guys were playing rugby production tried to play them and act like they're bad players because a few of them were like slipping on the field and stuff but that's not fair they were not wearing cleats if y'all didn't know if you get on an actual grass field and try to play like soccer kickball rugby Etc if you're not wearing cleats it can be very slippery so just a few things I want to say about this rugby game first Sam n kept referring to himself as a bad [ __ ] and saying he had bad energy and that just was not it next I don't know if y'all caught this but before the game started Jen was chilling on the mic next to Jesse Palmer and she says bring on the men rugby Royale bring on the men but she said it with no enthusiasm you're supposed to be like yes bring on the men y'all I don't know what it is but I love when The Bachelorette or like if one of the contestants on Paradise says that it's just I don't know it's so fun and last thing I want to mentioned so the orange team lost against the blue team and I felt so bad for Jeremy I just wanted to console him after he lost the game next the guys were playing this rugby game hard they were trying to win and just overall the men are fighting this season like it has been a while when we've seen the men just be so competitive like this and the show is better when the guys are competitive like this like so far this is an amazing season and easily this is so far one of my favorite seasons of the bachelorettees and moving into the night portion I just realized I did not talk about the outfits so during the sky jump date with Sam M I really liked Jen's Blazer that she wore she paired it with like a cream top and some oversized matching cream pants I didn't love the rest of the outfit but I thought the Blazer was cute and then during the night portion of the date with Sam M her dress was cute but I just didn't love it there was like this cut in the middle that I thought was like kind of weird and it just wasn't one of my favorite [Music] outfits and yep it's that time outfit of the episode for this week's outfit of the episode I'm giving it to Jen during the night portion on the group date also I keep saying I'm giving the outfit of the episode to Jen even though she's clearly going to win every outfit of the episode like there's no other women in the running like this is The Bachelorette Jen is wearing this tight orange dress with long sleeves and on the side there's a cutout but in the cutout there's like this sparkly kind of belt that shapes the cutout and this dress was really cute she looks amazing and she pairs it with some bone straight hair with a part in the middle this dress was such a serve and I'm starting to think I may like her more in Orange then I do pink and I normally don't love the the color orange but this shade of orange just looked amazing on her and like when she walked in the room she definitely grabbed all the attention and overall this dress was just such a unique choice but it definitely paid off so when talking about the night portion I'm going to talk about all of the other one-on ones and then I'm going to finish off with Sam n so Jonathan has a one-on-one with Jen and he brings out to thecross sticks and they toss around the ball a little bit because apparently they both played cross previously and y'all this was just so thoughtful like I would take Jonathan's thoughtfulness over Devon's charm any day of the week and Jen also says during this one-on-one I think in a confessional she's like we always have a good laugh together no matter what we're talking about and it's very clear that Jonathan just gets hotter and hotter for Jen the more she gets to know her the more she gets to know him next she has a one-on-one with Grant and y'all they are just boring together that man is not going to win after that she has a one-on-one with Jeremy and I don't think we got to see much of it but y'all I would risk it all for Jeremy like I think he's so hot and I really wish we got to see more of him next we get a one-on-one with Marcus and Jen and Marcus's outfit was amazing he had this turtleneck and he paired it with a Blazer he had the pocket square the whole thing was just A1 and there one-on-one was very cute Marcus admits that he hurt wrecked his shoulder and was worried about letting that out cuz he didn't want to be perceived as weak and overall this moment was just really adorable and watching him open up emotionally for Jen was just like really heartwarming to see the only read that I do have is that if Jen were to choose Marcus I'm pretty sure she would have to carry a lot of the emotional weight in that relationship which which happens a lot for relationships between men and women whatever but specifically this one I think she would have to carry a lot of the weight and I don't think she would want to do that necessarily like it would just be more weight than she would want to carry just due to Markus having a a fairly traumatic past okay now let's talk about Sam M Sam n was on the winning blue team and after the win Sam n thinks he's the and honestly I think this was manufactured by production Sam n just acts very arrogant all the other contestants in the house can see it he walks ahead of the all the other guys he carries the trophy as long as a jersey and his jacket and then he places the trophy on one of the seats on the couch so Marcus can't have a seat and the whole thing just was very arrogant Sam n pulls Jen for the first one-on-one and that further angers the other contestants but during the one-on-one Sam n pulls a jersey out of his shirt and he gives it to Jen and it says Sam's wife and I will say I did think that moment was pretty cute but overall during their one-on-one it was very clear that him and Jen are just friends like there's really no romantic or sexual chemistry there and while Sam n is having his one-on-one with Jen the rest of the guys in the house are talking and Austin says you should not be here if you don't have a certain level of emotional intelligence and like I hate to break it to you Austin but if that was the case half of these contestants wouldn't even be here and Sam n returns to the room with the rest of the guys and Marcus has the biggest smirk on his face like I laughed so hard when I saw his face and a few of the guys call him arrogant they tell him he's doing too much and basically the rest of the guys in the house agree and I don't know if y'all caught this moment but they had receipts too I don't know who said it but somebody pointed out the fact that Sam n didn't even score any points and just a heads up y'all amongst guys that means something like that's literally a receipt so like years ago Drake won a Grammy and during his speech he talks about how the Grammys is subjective whereas Sports is not subjective like if you're playing basketball if you get this many points this many assists this many rebounds etc etc you're going to win and you're the best so there's an actual metric there but in terms of the Grammys a lot of it's subjective so there's no actual metrics and this very much relates to the scenario we're watching right now cuz Sam n literally is so arrogant right now and he didn't even score any points like the rest of his team scored the points so when the rest of the guys in the house are calling him arrogant they actually do have something to back it up so Sam n really doesn't care he said he's focusing on himself and his relationship with Jen and he's going to do what he has to do yada yada yada and then he later gets into an argument with Thomas and y'all Sam n is literally the perfect example of the most selfish person you know is sitting in therapy right now being told they need to be a little more selfish so after that Sam is determined to get a kiss from Jen that evening so he interrupts Thomas's one-on-one have another one one-on-one with Jen and this whole moment was like kind of weird because he already had a one-on-one with Jen like instead of talking about how he's focused on pursuing her he could have tried to get a kiss then so for him to go back and try to get another another one-on-one especially interrupting Thomas's time for it was very weird I hope it made sense when I explained that like Sam literally spent all of his time talking about how he's focusing on just her instead of like actually taking steps to get to know her so Sam ends up getting another one-on-one with Jen he asks for a kiss Jen denies him and she breaks up with him and sends him home oh and right before all of this happen Grant is talking with the other guys and he's talking about Sam and he says he needs a humbling he needs a spanking bro and that was pretty funny and Sam ends up in the Uber XL and he is completely blindsided by all of this in the Uber XL he even says I wore a denim jacket and like his jacket wasn't denim it's definitely leather or plea and don't get me wrong I truly think Sam was blindsided by all this but at the same time a lot of this felt very manufactured by production and I'm pretty sure he's going to get a slot in Paradise so after the group date Marcus ends up getting the rose and he sheds a tear on the couch after he gets a rose like this man starts crying and y'all that was so crazy because it wouldn't be me crying in front of the rest of those guys like he waited until Jen left but I was still shocked he cried in front of those guys after getting that Rose and just one more thing I want to say about this Marcus got the rose but I truly feel like Jen is sleeping on Jonathan like I really had wish she gave Jonathan the rose but my theory about this is ultimately I think Jen is more attracted to Marcus than she is Jonathan Marcus just has like mature energy whereas Jonathan just gives a more young energy and I'm not saying Jonathan is immature or less mature than Marcus it's just his energy feels like more young whereas Marcus's feels more mature and I think Jen just prefers that hence why she sent home Sam n and didn't even give him a kiss and lastly we have a one-on-one date with Devon and Jen and for the date they learn about Mar maroy Mari culture I can't even pronounce it and overall this was a good date it was a very cultural date but I kind of wish Jen and Devin had done something else like this date was very meaningful and Jen got to share the fact that she was Buddhist she also shares about how she grew up in a white neighborhood and being vietmanese she struggled culturally like it's awesome she got to share that but I don't know I wish they kind of just had Le a less serious date so we can kind of see more of Devon in his natural element also quite a few of you in my comments are really riding for Devon please let me know Below in the comments if you're riding really hard for Devon please let me know why cuz I I am not seeing it and like don't get me wrong Devon is very charming and has some endearing qualities but I do not think it makes up for some of the bad qualities that he has also this is just my opinion so when Devon is around Jen he is amazing he is charming he's gentle with her he's so nice he's able to convey his emotions and he does have a knack for just making her feel like she's the only girl in the world but when he's around the other guys he acts very different and I'm not saying he's fake that's not what I'm getting at but I do think when Jen watches this back she is going to be very shocked at how he acts around the other guys and I don't think she's going to like it and I mentioned this in a previous review with a lot of The Bachelorette leads a lot of the leads like when they don't get along with the other guys in the house like they don't want them to be too broy with the guys in the house but I don't think Jen is like that I think Jen is going to see how Devon interacts with the other guys in the house and I think she's going to be genuinely surprised and like in a bad way and then we move on to the night portion Jen's dress is cute but I just don't love it and Devin shares his story he talks about how his mom got pregnant like pretty young and then she struggled financially because his father was not around much and he talks about how he idolized his father a lot even though he wasn't really there he also lashed out some because his father wasn't there but he grew up and eventually learned how much his mom really did for him and appreciated it more so in general I hate to say this but this is just a very common problem and not just for guys but with women too like a lot of people just struggle when growing up without a father in the household like this is just a problem our society is dealing with and I'm by no means not diminishing Devon's experience I actually appreciate that Devon has so much self-awareness regarding this entire subject anyways Devon ends up saying he's falling for Jen and at the end of the date he ends up getting the rose after that we do not get a rose ceremony but we get this cute outfit of Jen she's wearing this like navy blue coat and she pairs it with a gray sweater dress and I think some boots this was a really cute outfit and we find out her ex has returned and ABC very much leaves us on a cliffhanger but there's a couple things I want to mention first her ex is not that cute next a apparently this is not her toxic ex that she's mentioned multiple times before ABC made sure Jen mentioned that next Jen is completely gagged at this whole situation he is laying on the feelings hard and I think he even says he loves her and Jen responds back to him like are you do you know you're on camera right now like she didn't say that but that was very much her reaction and during this part Jen says that they dated 3 years ago but they reconnected within the past few months which I thought that was weird because a few months before this she knew she was going to be The Bachelorette so why is she connecting reconnecting with an ex and the other thing that was weird is based on this timeline her ex reached out to her after it was announced that she was The Bachelorette it felt a little Fame hungry to me but we'll see where this goes on the next episode and that
