welcome back to this special edition of 11 news at9 I'm Katie Pelton graduation is about to get underway any minute now we are just hours away from those Thunderbirds flying over during the Hat toss let's get back to 11 news anchor Tony Keith who can tell us some firsthand knowledge about those fan favorites Tony you got a chance to ride with the Thunderbirds that's right Katie so fun little fact Missy Franklin you heard from her earlier uh she rode back in 2015 that a day after she had her ride in 2015 I had the chance to ride with the Thunderbirds a true honor to get that chance I took my hourlong trip I trimmed it down to about a minute so that you guys at home could experience it red light's good red light's good all right so you've got your oxygen panel over there okay you can go ahead and put your helmet on do your chin strap and then do your math practice a bayet I'll talk to you on the com got it 400 get ready here come some GES here we go we're going to do a loop all [Music] right next we're going to do is inverted flight okay you ready for that one I'm ready we're going to pop the nose up we're going to roll that upside down negative G's it's at minus one G right now so you feel your feet coming off the floorboard I do and we're on there's one two three and four you want to try and do a Max turn what's a Max turn n that's a high G that's the 9 GS you want to maybe pass that one uh you know what why not do it all right here come G look your team meter back there what are you showing nine nine all right you pulled 9.2 okay so Katie I cannot say this enough it was truly an honor to experience that and it's just something that anytime I see the Thunderbirds flying I think back to that flight and it goes back to what they stand for the pride in this country they're the face of the Air Force and I'm looking forward to see them from Falcon Stadium but Katie for the time being I'm going to send it right back to you they really are the best in the world I couldn't have done it Tony so you're braver than me love to see it thanks so much we'll check in with you in just a minute let's get back over to your fourth
