gaffa s Late drama how can you put that one into words uh very simply I thought we was absolutely garbage um until 87 minutes when it connected for the first time and um listen I'm delighted with the players the you know what do we want a team that goes to the end sure do we want a team where we Acclaim their character and their never die attitude sure I just thought the the first half performance was that bad even though the second half I thought was better um that it leave it drags down you know the whole 90 for me um and it was a you know it was a it was a swift blow to the nose and but they responded so I think we should I I just said to the players well done for staying with it well done for never stopping well done you know we all know we have to be a lot better than that yeah can you pinpoint an area which needs impr proven in what went wrong in that performance today oh the first half was definitely the team the team selection definitely that's listen when when the dynamic of the team ain't right some managers go either way I I pick the team the team goes up out there in that Dynamic whether they go out there and play really well or play really bad it's irrelevant the dynamic of the team was all wrong so that's on Darren s that's Darren Soul's problem but the great thing about that especially now is that we have Subs to remedy um that scenario and I thought the introduction of more regainers of the ball gave us a greater chance of holding on to territory a lot longer even though we never played particularly smoothly I thought Freeman and feon helped that construction side of it a little um and I thought SLO and Robinson really helped us give us a little bit of extra energy I thought I thought Jack bless him look really really tired today and that may have been a thing it may have been a thing with the fatigue of the the two the 10 men and the Tuesday night on the on that surface but you know I think that when the dynamic of the team doesn't start right that's on the manager 100% you know I I never shy away from that and I thought second half that you know I thought the subs did help us a wee bit nowhere near enough able to really take the game away from them um and I was mostly disappointed in the the positions we got into offensively could have been so much more beneficial for us with a better basic you know a first touch a pass a little bit more quality in our movement to create space um but look in a calendar year and a campaign kind always go perfect yeah and just positive with Greg ler returning first time we've got to see him out there in competitive action should be a big player for us this year oh absolutely but you know the facts are he was our most effective number 10 when he laid in or intercepted in um Nathan Sharon for his half chance it was the most creativity we' had from that position and you know and that that's something that I need to think about especially in August when we're learning we've always talked about this learning sort of month that we um that we learned you know what works what doesn't work who can play together who connects who doesn't connect and then we can make our decisions from that but I just thought with the two extra Midfield players on in that position we uh and Freeman a little bit more adventurous uh from fullback I thought um I thought he spiked it a little bit enough to get us to the C yeah and then just another word on another one of the subs Nicki featherston hit a important milestone for the club they enter in the top five alltime appearances Inc just you know a word on him you've incredible you see him he comes on and he Nikki FST by you know Sun rain or howling gals Nikki FST is him every time he plays so he makes him a real reliable player to include or put into the team because you know exactly what Nikki Fon does and and that's a big thing I think when you're when you're trying to make Solutions or picking teams when they line up in the tunnel do you know 100% what's going to come out the other side and I think when you put Nikki into a game you always know he's going to have that courage to get on the ball a bit more and play a little bit more so I I thought he had a big effect and what he did he made them go back cuz he held on to the ball a we bit longer than than the than we had done previously but a fantastic man and you know brilliant brilliant player and you know um congratulations Nick and you touched on the Never Say Die attitude and despite the fact that want our best today at a point and we remain unbeaten how is the mood in the in the dressing room yeah I think it's weird cuz a week ago we we got a nil nil felt like a win um we've got a 1-1 it doesn't feel like a win but I think there's some positivity there's some positive things to take about this we talk about the the town and the area and um what it stands for we've had a team that's gone to the full extent of the time of the clock today we actually tried to make another attack uh before the final whistle to go and win it um and they've got a they've got something from it which over a campaign this is 10 months it doesn't finish at the end of August you know over a campaign those points when you're not been great are going to be um are going to be really worthwhile and big message at half time was if we if we can't win it we we certainly don't want to lose it so I think the players deserve some sort of recognition for that for that attitude and mentality and just under 48 hours until the straight back and action all wi sorry to face walk and how did them hours look you mentioned one or two teared legs how does Preparation look for that one I travel tomorrow train um North London um down to the hotel a lot of debriefing and Analysis on today and we need to because it's the first time we can really hone in on critical elements of our performance so I think we need to make sure that we use that time at the hotel theoretically um but apart from that physically it's about rolling them out again and because we because we've underperformed today which isn't no one's hiding from that you know it makes Monday an even an even bigger opportunity to try and try and get a win to keep that balance of three points one point three points one point so it'll be um it'll be an important game for us for sure
