Philadelphia police officers on dirt bike detail struck by car | Digital Brief

hello I'm Jan carabo with your digital news brief for Saturday August 24th Philadelphia police say a 38-year-old man is now under arrest for arson murder and other charges that's after this deadly house fire in Kensington Flames engulfed four homes on East Russell Street around 4:30 yesterday morning police say 66-year-old Evelyn Payne was found dead inside of one of those homes the homicide division is now handling this investigation and the American Red Cross is helping near l two dozen displaced neighbors two Philadelphia police officers on motorcycles should be okay today after a crash in Kensington police say a car turned in front of those officers at Kensington Avenue near West Morland Street around 9:30 last night the officers are part of the city's task force to crack down on ATVs and dirt bikes on city streets and a big event is rumbling into the city of Philadelphia this weekend the Hot Wheels monster trucks live glow party is back at the Wells cargo Center the event will bring fan favorite Hot Wheels trucks to life in the dark there will also be a laser light show those shows are today at 12:30 and 7:30 in the evening now let's check our next weather forecast here's meteorologist Tammy Susa hi Tammy well hello J beautiful weekend in store we'll see sun and the 80s out there both days early in the week we're going to have to deal with the chance of an isolated shower storm late in the day on Monday and by the time we get into Tuesday Wednesday and possibly Thursday the '90s will be returning to the area so we're sandwiched in between two storm systems one to the north and one to the South and we have high pressure keeping us sunny and dry for the weekend ahead a few high clouds will drift through midday and then clear out for a beautiful evening if you've got barbecue plans or anything else should be a nice evening and look at this 10 o'clock if you're out and about it'll be clear and beautiful great for some stargazing as well we start tomorrow with some sunshine a few high clouds drift through I am skeptical that we even see a Sprinkle tomorrow I think it really holds off until Monday so I'm just going to leave us nice and dry with just a few high clouds Monday we start with sun a few high clouds and could see an isolated shower or storm late in the day and some of these could actually turn marginally severe then we clear out as we head into the we hours of Tuesday morning so late in the day and during the evening on Monday again an isolated shower storm that could marginally turn severe level one out of five damaging winds would be the big threat and that is the entire Northeast that's included in this as well as Philadelphia 85 out there for today 79 down the shore and we're looking at 83 for all of you in the Lehigh Valley we go tonight to 65 in Philadelphia 61 down the shore that's a nice temperature and a crisp clear 59 in the Lehigh Valley for tomorrow 87 degrees and it will be a very pleasant day we're looking at the chance of a shower storm late in the day Monday and then Here Come Those 90s Tuesday and Wednesday Jam all right Tammy thanks thanks so much and remember you can always get the latest news and weather headlines right here on CBS philadelphia.com I'm Jan carabo have a great day
