WNBA Playoff Push - Time Is Now For Teams To Show Up!

what up what up what up welcome back to Aces High podcast we're your hosts Mariah and Ty Ty what's up my guy happy Monday happy Monday how you doing doing good doing good yourself I'm doing good cannot complain well good because I wasn't gonna listen anyway so we're good there exactly no one no one will what's up chat happy Monday good to see you all hope you had a great weekend um what's up everybody great I I know few great games um past week some Duds in there too but you know we're not going to hate too much on you Duds um especially want to get into the two games that were played yesterday because both were very close um very good games back and forth um obviously the Aces game came down to Asia in a game winner um you know the other game I think at one point they were down by 16 18 19 points I don't know um and somehow came back and got the win so definitely want to get into those um I'm gonna switch it up a little bit you know how we've been starting with the Stars we're gonna do that but as we're doing that since I have a group of stars um from a couple of games that are actually the aces games and the the Stars aren't the ases players unfortunately um but the players that the aces played against and so as I'm talking about that we might as well just get into the Aces game and kind of work it around that way so um let's see who we got in here let me say what's up to some people of course throwback even says I know Mariah I'm fast yes you are appreciate you as always Don what's good appreciate you Brandon what um Alberto what's good um so I had put out if you guys didn't catch the show yesterday or not on X or Twitter and haven't seen so this is the fourth year that I've been doing a Faithfully in Vegas fantasy league it's a it's a money League um but the people in it they get to roll over each year so there really hasn't been any openings or chance to open it up to anybody else to join um with that being said I started a new league it's a free League a 12-man league it's on the NFL um fantasy Network um like I said it's free I'm going to give out prizes for first second and third place um we still have maybe five or six or seven spots I don't know are so open it's open up to you um to anybody that watches obviously on my channel I made it for you guys so it's open the spots are open to you guys first um first come first serve so we get into actually into the Stars you're welcome I want to start off with a little something special that happened this weekend let me share my screen here if my internet and [ __ ] wants to cooperate we'll see come on internet how things want to go today you can do it you can do it all right so Maya Moore um had her jersey retired fortime WNBA champ um this was you know long time coming Hy [Music] so obviously more you know means a lot to um you know that franchise so great thing for them to do before they you know did what we just watched a couple um well a few actually of her the players that she played with um a few other people had things to say spoke um so it was very nice ceremony they had for her obviously then dropped down the Jersey there so shout outs congrats to her obviously a legend in this league um played you know a long time helped you know without people like her this league isn't what it is today so um obviously not a team that I care too much for but you know respect where respects do so yeah thoughts on that we're talking about one of the greatest players that have ever you know touched down in the WNBA um College champ wab WNBA champ um okay four-time Champion I believe she was a like seven time Allstar won the MVP won the allstar MVP like twice um but five four or five time all WNBA first team some crap like that an outstanding career and she left in her prime she only played for eight seasons you would think she played forever having accomplished so much but she only played for eight seasons like she should still be playing right now to be honest with you um but we should know she left to pursue other things I mean just a great overall player she was great for the game she still is she still comes around talks to young players you see how the team honored her that we knew that was coming it just had to so um it was cool it was a great thing for the links to do their organization and it was great to see all the lyns players show up before the game in mayore jerseys like the different iterations of her Jersey um that was super cool um they gave out mayore retirement shirts to all the fans and as we know Caitlyn Clark is the mayore is her Idol who she looked up to um she wore one of the shirts and she actually stayed out during halftime to watch the the ceremony so super cool so you see how everyone's involved and it was just a great great great night great night um honoring Maya and it's much deserved yeah that you know that's I had even tweeted about it being awesome that you know it they they ended up doing it well obviously they were playing the fever and you know Caitlyn Clark getting there getting to be there to witness that and then obviously you know those that know the story you know fee and is you know Maya Moore is her Idol somebody look she looks up to too they grew up in the same place went to the same schools ended up going to the same WNBA team you know so kind of she's followed right along in her path you know so it's pretty cool story between those two as well um so you know awesome thing for them all to get to witness obviously um but you know obviously a little extra special for those two um all right so let's get into the stars um like I said I'm going to get into um you know a little we'll talk about the aces games a little bit too as we go through um with my stars yeah so the two I'm gonna you know add these two stars in together the two rookies for the sky um cardoso obviously Angel played um you know Vegas yesterday it's not an easy task to be tasked with defending um an MVP a you know the the scoring the highest scoring person in the league at the time you know like all these things you're having to do like that's no e easy task for anybody in the league let alone a rookie right um and these two rookies were tasked with you know guarding her off and on cardosa had five blocks on Asia five blocks like you know and something that I talked about last week like wanting cardoso to be you know more aggressive and since the break you know last week those games that we had seen that was something that was coming out like holy [ __ ] you know like Sky fans I know especially have been calling for that you know like just be more aggressive we know you have it in there like come on and you know it's slowly coming out and in this game um you know obviously once you get that first block probably on Asia you know Wilson it's you're gonna start feeling like okay like I got this right I just feel her confidence grow with each block each quarter of that basketball game and you know to where she is even turning after the blocks and talking [ __ ] to Asia you know and there's not many people that are just going to turn and talk [ __ ] you know friendly back and forth you know game thing um still not too many people are just gonna be there talking [ __ ] to her and Asia I mean um cardoso and Angel both were and um you know if you look at the box score obviously at Asia you know she finishes the game with 24 points seven rebounds three assists um which oh for a normal okay that seems great right um however was that that game let me let me look oh no yeah 20 no she finished with 20 points 18 rebounds three blocks but she almost shot 28% from the field you know she even like tweeted after the game about you know about her bricks she was building a house with all the brick she's been the house and then her boyfriend bam you know puts out a tweet you know they still won't announce that you know they're together even though the whole world knows already um he puts out a tweet about oh just you know put those bricks to use to build a better tomorrow or whatever the hell some tweet about bricks at the same exact time too like you know like come on like they think we're so stupid right um but like so one Asia was just already having a off shooting night right the whole team is just been we're gonna get into it but it's juster freaking [ __ ] so even though they won this game they didn't win it great by any freaking means yeah um it came down obviously like I said to Asia hitting a game winner like in with point two seconds I don't know what was like one point six seconds I some crazy ass [ __ ] left um and ends up like they had to review it like it was so close like that it went into this long ass review um and then they finally you're like okay yeah they won but with all that being said like yeah Asia's having a bad shooting night but a lot of that had to do with those two rookies as well um five freaking blocks like I said like that's crazy and so even Angel she had two blocks she finished with 11 um 11 points 22 rebounds two blocks and then cardoso finished with eight points 12 rebounds five blocks so not just that game um for Angel but that game was you know great obviously but the last three games let me pull up these numbers for Angel because you know we always talk about the records that her and Caitlyn are breaking um this season which is crazy because every time we do a show I feel like there's more records to talk about that they broken like records that have been hanging on like for freaking ever like dinosaur ages Angels breaking records every night like gez yeah so I don't I'll have to look and see what the exact numbers is but this one is even included in the it's WNBA n NBA it says Angel is one of just two players in the WNBA and NBA in the last 50 years to grab 20 plus rebounds three games in a row the most recent streak before these was Wilt Chamberlain in 1973 Wilt was the only person ever to do it it's Angel Reese which she just did that August 18th through the 25th um 20 plus rebounds in three consecutive games and the other one's Ben Wallace um for Detroit Pistons and he did it April 25th through the 30th um 2003 so that shows you that this isn't something that's done you know very often and like she has there's something special like you know I don't know if I've ever seen a rebounder like somebody with the gift of rebounding like this girl like it's crazy like there was one play where she's going up against Asia and they're really like going back and forth against this freaking like even start laughing at each other afterwards that was a she keeps rebounding the ball like up over Asia every single time like four or five times in a row like Asia cannot get the ball from her she's like some like I don't know if it's her upper body like what makes her so good at like what is it that makes her so good at rebounding like that she she she knows how to get into position she doesn't mind throwing her body in there and bodying up on people and just going after it is that is just will heart she just wants it like that sequence between her and Asia that was like musty TV because that was awesome that was incredible that was like the top two rebounders in the league now going at it and that's like AIA like one you're not gonna score on me two you're not gonna get this rebound Angels like one I am G to score on you yeah two I'm gonna get this re bound no matter how many times I have to do it that was incredible it it was a great sequence a lot of people focused on it for the wrong reasons yeah but just to see like this young rookie and a player she looks up to a current player she looks up to and wants to model her game after them two just going at it oh man it it was great it was great I love when they play you know for that reason because like what you just said you know um kind of obviously we know um let's kind of talk about this as's game for a minute Meg got the start um obviously we'll get into the other game but AC got the start the game before so Becky is switching up the lines obviously after some shitty games in a row um like we've been saying something needs to be done like if you're if you're starting five aren't doing what they need to do well let's say you're starting four because obviously as is not going to be included right you're starting others starting four if they're not doing what they're supposed to do get their ass on the [ __ ] bench like there's no reason why they're so special that they should be out there throwing bricks and shooting airballs and are a cone on defense and helping us lose games instead of win games like fix it do something you're the freaking coach stop being their best friend and be a [ __ ] coach and finally you know we were seeing sorry Kia but I know you came back from an injury you you haven't been it this entire season you know and it's unfortunate that it took this long for the starting lineup to get changed um obviously Becky talked about it after this game and said you know going forward it's going to be depending on the team we're playing their size um she said next game ex expect Meg to be in the starting lineup again so I think Meg put in a great performance coming off the starting lineup me and Ty been talking about like even before going to the Olympics like we got Meg on this team and Saul like well in the past she like shoots all these threes you know like she hits she gets on the Aces and then can't make a shot to save her freaking life and it's just like where's this Meg right then she goes to the Olympics and we're seeing this Meg like she's making shots she's leading the team in rebounds like leading team scoring caring the team freaking yeah she's she's leading the team to their wins it's like where the hell's this Meg at yeah comes back and it's like nope nope that Meg's not here still yep put her into the starting lineup first start that she's got on the aces I have to look up her numbers but I swear she hit like three four five threes I don't know got us some big time buckets um when we needed like and so much better with her coming in the starting lineup you know and like I don't know if it's just the way Becky had been using her like even coming up the bench it's it was like she was just a three like a corner three and D type player like not even a full three like get your ass over there in the corner yeah just stand in the corner wait for yeah you're G to shoot your three ball from right there that's it if you don't make it then you're getting back on the bench you know and it's just like you can't play like that you know like when your leash is so freaking short that you're scared to make a [ __ ] mistake because as soon as you do you're getting benched you know you're already fighting for minutes like you're only getting five 10 minutes as it is you know and it's like okay I can't make a mistake I can't make a mistake I can't make a mistake like you can't live you can't play you can't nobody can live or survive at their job like that you know so it was much much nicer seeing her coming from the start starting lineup and even Kia did better coming off the the bench she had a better game last night I felt coming off the bench than I can't even remember how long um your thoughts and Kelsey Plum real quick on that and I'm gonna pull up that that last play last play yeah um but Kelsey on that play set such an amazing freaking screen that got but that even allowed Asia to get open to make that game-winning shot so as much as I've been riding Kelsey's ass for being a this season um if not for her on that play Asia's not making that shot yeah the perfect screen the as perfect as you could have perfect yeah it it it before we get to that last play because that was awesome but yeah starting with Meg um put her in the lineup try to take advantage of the matchup try to stretch the floor a little bit which which she can do um you know she can hit the outside shot you take one of those rebounders away from the inside so Asia doesn't have to battle two people like we've we've been calling for all year even though she still wound up battling two people because that's just what it is um but it was great and it was great to see her kind of get out of her shooting slump I mean 62% from two 60% from three-point range that's what you need you know that's the Megan Gus Guston this team needs to succeed right to help this team get points so it was great to see her have a good game hopefully this boost her con her confidence and um you know propels her for the rest of the season um Kelsey Plum had a good game too she she was her usual Gat self doing everything the three-point shots was not falling but aside from Meg no one was H it was just terrible and in this last play though she made up for all of it all of her shenanigans and complaining about the refs and everything else because like you mentioned the screen that she set up on this one whenever you can pick off two people and free up your star player that shows a great amount of self selfishness and execution and that's exactly what she did there I mean to pick off Rees and and get Lindsay to pick her off so she responded late freed Asia right up and this play was executed so well as turns into the a killer right here yeah I mean from Chelsea Gray's pass we talked about the screen but if you look at Asia she she doesn't go right away she times it up perfectly where she hesitates and then goes she waits for the screen to happen and then takes off it was beautifully executed and a lot of people aren't giving Asia her flowers for like waiting and not giving up who who it's going to because it looks like it's all about Chelsea right but nope it's her I mean Kelsey but it's her so it was great execution by those three and um it was a tight game though it was a tight game and the aces still got a lot to work on because they give up runs to their opponent and they go on these scoring lows where it's like five minutes six minutes Etc where they're not hitting any baskets and you think a team with a Chelsea Gray a Kelsey plum Jackie young and deia Wilson are not hitting shots it's like what is going on you should not go that long without getting a bucket so they got some things to work on I like how in this game though they came out and was like screw this we're going to Asia and we're going her early and just keep shooting I don't think they do that enough like sometimes you know you want to get everyone involved and like Jackie's a star Kelsey's a scar star uh Chelsea is a star but Asia is your Superstar and sometimes you just got to say F this we're going to our Superstar here and I think that needs to happen a little bit more yeah especially when nobody else on the team is shooting worth of [ __ ] yeah like yeah like we literally haven't been able to rely on anybody else like Jackie had two points this game she's supposed to be our number two behind Asia had two freaking points exactly and the other game we're gonna get into in a minut didn't do much better either yeah and like Chelsea Gray I mean let's talk about it she went three for 12 from the field 25% it what's that about yeah I don't know if they've rushed her back too soon because they were Los too many games and or she they lost six in a row yeah it was like okay enough she's she has looked better but she's still off like her shot still isn't where it where we know it is and it's still off and when you have a bad shooting night like that it's like and defensively how long's it going to take um for the other teams to where they're just going to be like well we don't we know we don't have to pay her any attention because she's going to Brick the shot anyway you know yeah like it's much easier for the other teams to defend you when they know you can't make a shot to save your life you know but uh but they still gave up too many transition baskets that it's still the same old story of if a team runs on them they'll just run right up the middle of the Court yeah Y and score and it's like who's stopping the ball like somebody do something it it's just bad it's just bad still can't guard the three to save their freaking lives can't guard the def is terrible and what's crazy about this game is we know Chicago is not a three-point shooting team they were they were last yesterday they were and it's like okay every team is when they play the aces exactly and it's like okay it's like okay maybe they're slacking off on a three-point defense on purpose because we know they can't hit three-point shots but once they start hitting them you would think okay let's go guard three-point line and they were still open three-point looks and it was like gez will somebody rotate somebody do something I mean Kennedy Carter hit two amazing shots at the end of the game that were guarded that's just hats off to Kennedy Carter she just made phenomenal shots but like the all before then it was like a layup line it was like just people just shooting wide open and it was like guard that [ __ ] already yeah so yeah and it's like AIA talked about it's like we we gotta want it on defense we gotta do it because this is getting out of hand I agree um I'll give my other players and then we'll get into yours because since mine are wrapped in with the aces games I want to too much into a craziness um so the links obviously the aces this just doesn't even you would think if I were just to see this team for example they're on a three game Road you know stretch right now so it started with this linkx game then it went to the Chicago game we just talked about and it finishes with the game tomorrow um but you would think the the team that showed up in Minnesota had no chemistry like they had never played together like there's so many players on this team that have been on the past two championships teams on the one last year even you know like there's a lot of rollover it's not like this is some brand new freaking team and you would think like these girls I don't know like they hate each other they they haven't ever played with each other before I don't know what the hell is going on but this is not the aces team that I'm used to [ __ ] watching and like I put that on the cover of this video the moods of watching a game because I swear I'll be screaming cussing at this freaking TV happy one second cheering clapping hating everybody on the freaking TV you know like oh my gosh and it's just like this I just don't you know we're gonna get into it about maybe why they're having some issues um but like we just talked about Jackie like where are you I don't they left her in freaking Paris you know what's crazy earlier today I was thinking and I was like she's having that stretch where remember earlier in the season when she was sick and like she was playing while she was sick but she was just not effective she couldn't do anything and she would have like two points Four Points blah blah blah it's like she's sick again and it's like what is going on because this is not like her I don't I don't understand what the heck is happening and I can't put my finger on it like I'm looking at her and she looks the same she looks fine it's like I don't get it I don't know I'm hoping they say something but yeah but like you said she's the number two and she needs to show up I mean well she did show up in the first game um against the links earlier in the week let me give her her her credit there she showed up she was doing her thing um but once again it's like you have this big three and the big three is supposed to show up and she's kind of the only one well she was two of of three cuz Asia showed up too she she did her thing but she was two of of three but other people disappear but the last two games she has been kind of non-existent and it's like what is going on so I don't know I don't know the player that I want to give their flowers is nafisa Collier um she's come back from obviously we know she had an injury prior to the Olympics she was sitting she went into Olympics um she's come back from the Olympics and has gone on a tear these last few games and a couple of them well she played us Wednesday and then Friday and then played again Saturday and you would never even know he had a backtack so her last game like she had a week off yeah this last game Saturday 31 points um five rebound bounds the game before on the Friday so very night before 27 points 18 rebounds um that was against Vegas the game Wednesday against Vegas 23 points seven rebounds one block one steel Saturday before that 30 points you know it's just like there was a point when you could look at Asia as MVP Undisputed runaway MVP nobody even close and the has come back from the Olympics and she said not so fast friends now obviously I you know these last few games that the Aces and Asia like I said you look at Asian numbers yeah they look good but at the same time that if you watch the game that's not Asia she's not playing as what we're used to but these last few games are not going to erase the first half of the season when she toally smoked everybody like dominated the entire half of first half of the season so I just don't take these last four games and say oh well or last four or five how many ever the hell and say oh well you know she's had up and down games here so no you know fe's taking over no I think Asia is still the MVP however it's gotten a lot closer than it once was well she hasn't been playing bad let's put that out there just her numbers aren't what they are the shooting percentage isn't what it is and the first game against uh the lyns I think she only had 15 points that game um yeah she had a 15.9 rebound game which for most players is like damn she had a pretty good night right like oh had 15 points nine rebounds uh she had six assists look at that that that's a darn good night but for Asia Wilson it's like what's wrong wh what what is she sick what happened did she fou out that's way too low so let's put that into perspective um I think the shooting percentage is the biggest thing because like you said she's missing some bunnies and and like things have been off and she's not get into the free throw line as much as um she normally does and that could be ref related let's put that out there but but it's a thing but you just get to give hats off to nefa ker I wanna I want to go back to her give her her flowers because she has been on a tear the backtack performance is what really like like yo that's crazy like one I said this earlier in the year when the Aces and the links played like nefisa ker and Asia Wilson guard each other this isn't like one of those things where the superstars stay away from the superstars and you know they just go off they guard each other so they're battling so they just spent two games battling each other and then the next night neia ker comes back no rest and exceeds her performance performance you you normally don't see that most players drop off but she had even better performance she's on a terror right now yeah I don't think she's the MVP for the year that's still Asia but you can make a case that okay Asia isn't unanimous because I got to give a few first place votes to fee I'm cool with that but they're two two of the best players in the league right now like you look at those two and you can throw in Banna Stewart and those are your top three and go from there but she yeah what Fe is doing is crazy right now it's just it's just insane yeah and then any other thoughts on this game and then we'll go over to your stars well well the the the first game or the second game or we grouping them together you can group them together if you want I'm not spending too much time talking about either one yeah it's just it's just once again the defense I think the defense was off just allowing them free and open shots and you know the lynx is a team that can hit some threes they got players that don't mind jacking it up from three and they will hit them and the the whole thing with the aces not being able to guard the three-point line effectively came back to haunt them and what's really what mentioned earlier is just guarding the the freaking the runs the the the transition defense like there was a play where neia ker grabbed the rebound and ran straight down the middle of the court I mean dribbling she dribbled straight down the middle of the court and I'm like Kelsey Plum was there and I'm like Plum stop the ball and well she's so Ker freaking crossed her left her over just did a little Handover move and left her standing still and went straight to the rack and laid it up and it was like what the heck is that I'm like Kelsey blow at least grab her Fowler do something she just complete I mean a that was ugly it's embarrassing that that was ugly and it was like oh and I understand the Fe of CER is great and all that but you don't allow that to happen that shouldn't happen poke her in the eye something Tripper do something you know what I mean to wear goggles like gogg kick your leg out like don't just let her Cross by you know do something that's right pull them braids do something like oh my gosh so yeah it was a whole lot of that going on and it was just like all right this is this is two games in a row this is terrible like I expected them I expected them to bounce back like I understand the links are tough very good team Etc like after the first loss I expected them to bounce back and it was more of the same and it was like gez so yeah they got some soci searching to do some things to work on and hopefully they get it together because that that you can't have that in the playoffs when you started playing those upper echelon teams like yeah and then it's only a beat Chicago you would have just got your asses home yeah You' have been home that's two in a row see you see you next season so yeah they gotta get it together get it together see you next Tuesday yep all right give me some Stars give some stars all right first I want to talk about uh Ria Jackson I have LA Sparks yeah I've been I've been I've been checking them out you know giving some some notice some special attention and I noticed that she is the star now like she's the go-to player she's the Asia Wilson of that team like y they run plays and default to her and try to get her going and and like over vet veter and stuff and it was like okay I see what's going on I see the vision she has played her way into that role and she's thriving in it I mean um her last three games she's averaging 19 points a game um yesterday she played yesterday day before she went six of eight from three I mean just having a great shooting night talk about from yesterday yeah yeah having a great shooting day um she's been really really balling out I mean and and like for a rookie to have that thrust upon you you know from like a place like uh Los Angeles it's like okay it's the home of you know Lisa Leslie and Candace Parker played here and all of a sudden it's me like that's something you know even for a team that's battling right now and um and that's why having a hand be on the team yeah and with Hamby who who who was who was the star she was that person and to see the role completely change it's it's it's it's a testament to her and what she brings to the table and all I and I said earlier in the year like before it was all said and done she would be throwing her hat into the Rookie of the Year talk I don't think people will pay attention to it but like you can see like maybe if she had started from day one like some of the others she would definitely be getting more attention that part I hate that we are robbed and she was robbed of an entire rookie season you know like she should have been used correctly from the beginning but her stupid ass coach don't know how to handle two rookies at the same time so unfortunately it took one going down for the other one to get used and I know it was terrible yeah sck even though the entire WNBA world was calling for ikia to be used we could all see it but you know but that's the thing that's the crazy thing you would see when she got into games how good she looked exactly and it's like yo he needs to seriously consider starting her because she she's looking damn good better than her starters like sit one of them down just throw out there but nope he has to wait till this person gets injured and this person gets injured and then it was a we have to wait to a third person got injured until she got in the got in the starting lineup it's like gez but yeah shout out to Ria because she is flourishing and it's great to see yeah um real quick from that game yesterday too um shout out to Odyssey Sims you know for her to go through everything that she's gone through this season and now she's there with the Sparks um coming off the bench and yesterday she ends up being the first player in WNBA history to record 25 plus points and nine plus assists Off the Bench in a game so yeah shout out to her like I said you know it's never easy having to go through you know from Team to team and here to here and over here and this [ __ ] that they're dealing with you know and she's found her already a nice little rooll there and coming off the bench doing her thing opening the path for the younger ones to be the stars of the team I'll take the back seat roll and I'll come in and I I'll give my little measley 25 points no problem so yeah hell yeah she is she could start on a lot of teams like she's just one of those people that's unfortunately like looked down upon because she plays overseas and yeah you yeah you're not gonna help her feed her family so you know she gotta go do what what's gonna help feed her family you know like yeah people are ridiculous hey go make her money overseas then come here late and it's like oh you're late so you know we'll see if we can fit you in and then it's like Oh Come Off the Bench like dude she could ball um yeah yeah hopefully we can see her for a full season one time because she she's a really good player I like I agree um and yeah that game yesterday between the Sparks and the Dallas Wings was so good um at one point like I almost turned off the game because the Sparks were so ahead that I'm like oh okay like what like when a game gets 18 points whatever 19 points you know it's like why even watch this anymore right like it ain't my team so what why am I suffering through this um but you know like there was no other game on it time so I'm like okay I was doing some things around here so I had it on and then all of a sudden I look up and I'm like holy [ __ ] like I'm like like even because you know I'm like streaming it you know so I'm like going out of the site I even brought the game back up because I'm like is this thing tripping like am I like you know no man arque and freaking Howard yeah Natasha Howard they're like excuse us La uhhuh not so fast and came back back um so yeah you know watching that after the Vegas and Sky game like two hella good games yesterday I'm like this is the kind of basketball that you want to see yeah games that come down to the wire good scoring good action is going back and forth like you gotta love it that was good stuff and what a great game by like two teams a lot of that's not being talked about enough because I know they're down in standings and they've had a bunch of injuries so people tend to not think about him but they were going at it yeah and they got they're fighting they're still fighting for those last spots so exactly so it was fun to watch most definitely any other stars you got yeah uh shout out to Shakira Austin of the Washington Mystic she is back from injury and it's looking good round into form I mean her last three games she's a 18 points a g G 8.3 rebounds I mean she's out there blocking shots and imposing her will um you know she's the the Mystic star and they've been missing her they missed her for the first half of the season they did yeah and she's back and and you would think you know all right she's back and she's gonna be rusty slow blah blah blah now she's looking good so it's it's great to see you know these good Stars s come back and playing well um for a team with like Mystics I have a lot of I have a lot of pieces so if they can like continue to you know she can do her thing and they can build around her hey the mystics could be making some noise maybe not this season but the next season so shout out to Shakira Austin yeah shout out to her any other ones not it's all I got it's all I got all right you're all stars in our book but you know we don't we don't have time to be listing all y'all all right so exactly we like to point out D that the few that's doing exceptional exceptionally well that may not be getting some attention you know nationally that's right all right I have some tea let's get into the tea here break it down so yesterday while Dana Evans is there playing basketball mhm her agent slash manager slash whoever you want to call him is tweeting well she's playing or sitting on the bench what whatever you want to call it um and ends up saying I've never seen a player who was playing close to 30 minutes per game averaging 13 points per game five assists per game get blamed for slow starts moved to the bench and can't get 10 minutes consistently again a player who is at 135 as your point guard then goes on to say so now it's starting to look like and smell like she's not getting minutes because she wanted out of Chicago instead of professional basketball looking real amateur because folks feelings were hurt if you're not going to play her at one makes sense to play her at two so she can score and play some defense team didn't want to move her when she requested a trade and didn't want to move her at trade deadline yet bringing another point guard make it make sense sounds like she requested a trade yeah she wanted out and Sky either didn't have a trade partner or refused to find a trade partner that's what I want to know was there a trade partner out there was there anyone willing to bite Evans can light it up she's been yeah go ahead on that tweet where where they say um so it smells like she's not getting minutes because she wanted out of Chicago AAR Stevens comments on there and says shaking my head free Dana well they play together in Dallas didn't they they did yeah so they homies so she's gonna talk about her homie I get that um you can't tell me no no other team would want her or could use her because as a backup point guard even right the Mercury the storm the dream all could use a backup point guard see the you know the problem with her is she's not really a point guard she's more of a shooting guard well even a backup shooting guard regardless because they're asking her to play point but yeah I get that that's why he's saying if you're not gonna play her at the one play her at the two like player somewhere that makes sense you know like you guys I think the part yeah the part of real problem with her being on the sky is they wanted her to be like a point guard play the one that's kind of not her natural position exactly and she's been a little inconsistent at it so it's like oh so and I think her trade value is low because of the inconsistency she shown this season and the scoring and everything else so that that's why like they talk about he talks about bringing in another point guard in Mariah Jefferson but before that she was benched for Lindsay Allen like Lindsay took her place because she was just more consistent at the position so um I guess we'll say Dana won't be there next season uh I think it's safe to say that I can bet um Brandon's paycheck on that that yeah Dana won't be there next season yeah and and I think they've they've kind of settled on their two guards with Allen and Carter right now so it's like who's just GNA be behind them and they'll work that out yeah but I'm I'm Dana Evans and and it was funny I was watching the game yesterday and I'm like she hasn't gotten any run at all and you would think they would just put her in for a few minutes to spell the starters because they played way too many minutes I was I was like okay what is coach spoon doing because me too they they're and puffing like their lungs are about to fre fall on the court angel needs a blow Allan needs a blow like they need some rest you need to sub them like just give them a few minutes off and I'm looking at Dana Evans and and [ __ ] Isabelle Harrison and all them in the third late in the third and the fourth quarter and I'm like why aren't they playing she's over there like she's sitting on the beach something is off yeah Dana didn't even take off her warm-up jacket like she she ain't even that's how bad to the court yeah that's how bad it is so you would think that she would get playing time just to spell them a little bit that didn't even happen so yeah I would one out too I can't even spell you could say she has low trade value okay but what what is she doing right now she's literally sitting on the bench not helping your team whatsoever and you're paying her money so you could have traded her for a [ __ ] bag of potato chips why are you gonna keep somebody on your team that has told you they won out from the sounds of it told you prior to the trade deadline and then again at the trade deadline I W out yeah and yet you chose to keep her because she has low trade value well she's costing you money being there she's not helping you she's literally making the team worse because now the rookies and everybody are seeing her [ __ ] attitude and how she's acting because she's not getting playing time and she's not happy and she doesn't want to be there like that's make that's hurting your freaking team so trade her for a freaking bag of Skittles and [ __ ] carry on like why are you keeping people I'll never understand why you keep people on your team that don't want to [ __ ] be there and you're not using them it would be a difference if she's asking like Marina she didn't she didn't want to be there she asked for a trade but she was still getting playing time she's still putting up points she was your leading freaking scorer at times you know it's like she was still helping your team win Dana literally is not helping do [ __ ] so low trade value are [ __ ] not she could have zero trade value kick her to the [ __ ] curb yeah let her go well good thing for her she's a she's a a free agent after this season so she can go where she wants to go um and with expansion and you know teams that always looking for different people I think she has a good opportunity to go somewhere and hopefully go somewhere where she's valued yeah and you know teams especially like you know the Valkyries are one of these young teams yeah you think that Chicago is you know should be a young team that needs a vet on there but obviously she ain't the right vet for them so um I'm sure she'll find some spot yeah she's only in her this is only her fourth season yeah I don't know so yeah the fact that she's a free agent after the year could be another reason why a team didn't trade for her like all right I'm gonna give up a pick and then maybe I'm not even able to resign her next season right depending on what she wants to do so that that could have played into it too you just never know but it's I think it's safe to say next season she's out of there she will not resign with the Chicago Sky you know we talked about um Chicago not using their bench players and as Brandon says right here in their game against Vegas literally all 75 points they scored were from their starting five not one single point from a bench player they hardly played them they hardly played them it was like I thought Vegas didn't play their freaking bench enough man maybe it runs into the [ __ ] friendship between the coaches I know like what what is going on here like it it was crazy when I was looking at that I'm like wait a minute they're huffing and puffing because they no one else has played oh no one else has played I swear I feel like Angel played every single minute that game yeah like that's what it felt like they got her officially at 36 minutes and 47 seconds of a 40 minute game like yeah she's young she's in shape but come on like this is somebody had didn't even have an off season like she has nothing she's coming straight from college to hear and now like the coach is playing her freaking 35 Plus minutes of freaking game like yeah I got you she's young and in shape but she's been battling Asia Wilson for most of the game and Kia Stokes and everybody else like you see that we talk about how she throws her body in there and goes after it like she's not some guard standing outside the three just looking she plays she was getting whacked in the face she was getting beat like a lot of calls that didn't get called and she was getting beating out there she need a rest like sit her down let her rest and come back nope just left her out there it's crazy yeah yeah I teaspoon makes some very questionable decisions like the more that I've been watching the sky The more I've been like come on teaspoon like we've been trying to support you on this show now you're making this look like we're freaking going to The Nut House yeah um you know another crazy stat you know like that 75 points um when and this isn't a good one for thees either and I meant to bring this up when I brought up um fee but but the game against them fee had 18 rebounds against us I brought it the aces had 17 rebounds as a team yeah yeah yeah she had one more rebound than the entire AC's team like and you wonder why you're [ __ ] losing games like come on it's like nobody on that team seems to give a [ __ ] all right so the next Little T well not really T but you know some conspiracy let's put it out there no obviously this whole lawsuit thing Becky seems a little frazzled out there her her eyebrows are a little more sunken in than usual the team like I said even prior to the Olympic break when they were losing games there was never a point when I saw oh this team's losing games because their chemistry is off or this team's losing games because they don't give a [ __ ] about each other or they're too selfish and they're only worrying about themselves instead of the team and they don't care about winning anymore never did those thoughts cross my mind it was well Chelsea's out the team you know we have Jackie trying to play a role she's not supposed to Kelsey has gone through all this [ __ ] in the offseason that she's trying to do deal with we have Kia coming back from a major injury then once you know um Chelsea gets back it's like okay well she's not playing great because she's coming back from this injury we still don't know if she should even be back playing like we don't know what the hell's going on with her right like is this just the end of the point guard or is it because she came back from injury too soon who knows um but now I'm looking at this team and this team just looks different now I don't know maybe it's just in my [ __ ] head because I know that the lawsuit came out and everybody's watching their every move trying to find out what the hell's wrong with them what's going on is Becky gonna get fired is this gonna happen is it so we're watching paying attention I'm like reading into everything something just seems different and I hate to get up here and talk bad about my own team you guys know you hardly find me say a bad word about the aces just something's not right now I don't know if it's Becky losing the locker room hell maybe Jackie you know she's straight maybe she doesn't want to play for Becky anymore because she's thinking well what now I can't have a family I can't start a family she's gonna [ __ ] me off who knows even Asia [ __ ] she's straight what she's not allowed to have start a family now like this is going to come into players Heads This is their baby making time of their lives this is when they start families and now they have to start questioning every move that they going to make is my organization gonna get rid of me is my head coach going to turn her back on me if I if something God forbid happens and an accident occurs and you get pregnant are the aces gonna [ __ ] [ __ ] ship you off to the middle of nowhere like how are these girls supposed to feel at this time so much [ __ ] has been said has been like this was their teammate they played alongside this girl that this is happening to right like spent hours Blood Sweat and Tears with this girl so to think that it's not going to affect them at all whatsoever you're blondly [ __ ] mistaken like this is very important to the women in all of these locker rooms and it's front and center of this AC's locker room you know Kelsey Plum and um hamy were tight too they were homies and now they don't even follow each other anymore you know what I'm saying it's like crazy um it was funny though I was looking at watching the game and Coach looked a little frazzled she was kind of looking like the Bride of Chucky out there like just if she just had this frazz old big-haired mean look going on and I'm like and and and an inkling something something made me think like is there other [ __ ] on her mind does she have too much going on right now how could there not be cause cause yeah and it made me think of everything that's happening and she's human the weight exactly she's human and the weight on her shoulders and everything else and it's like excuse me and it was like I wonder if this is just taking a toll like it's a rough rough moment for her and it could be reflective of her coaching and everything else and of course that's going to trickle throughout throughout the players and everything else right just the environment and if your leader is that way and bringing it to you it's going to show up on the court so it's funny you brought that up I it it me it entered my mind yesterday and I didn't want to dig too deep into it and think about it because you know I'm still Mr positive and nah stasis they just got to work their [ __ ] out but like you said the human element will always play a role and always take over and it's definitely out there and at the end of this season we we could be hearing some stuff we could be hearing all the stories of how this was going on and that was going on and how it affected everybody like it wouldn't shock me if we see one of those Aces specials where we hear the players talking about this and last night I was in a WNBA space led by an Aces fan it was very late now remember the aces are on a three- game Road Trip they're not coming back to Vegas so they're out on the road they had just got done playing and all of a sudden AC's assistant coach Tyler Marsh pops up into the space and he spent probably a good hour or so just in the space listening wow and then left during that time a lot of things were talked about about the aces we know how it goes down in spaces oh yeah and specifically questions about Becky about her coaching about whether she's fit to be coaching right now um you know it's and like you said it's gonna be very interesting when this season ends to see now I talked about this last week I don't think unless all of a sudden things speed up and stuff comes out that hasn't already like you know more stuff comes out um against Becky specifically I don't see her getting fired before the end of the season just because this isn't a Hami versus Becky thing again this is Hami versus the WNBA and the aces thing right I'm gonna again say this I said this last week I if you're blind dumb and deaf and stupid if you think that what happened to Hami stops abcki if you think that nobody else in not A's organization had anything to do with it well come here because I got sand from a freaking secret desert to sell you okay like Becky don't run the freaking Aces organization so if you think that she's making every call that goes on in that organization come on um so after this season I would expect now again this is if results happen you know hopefully during the off season all this they have a long enough offseason that there should be enough time hopefully something gets done yeah now I would think if it comes down that what Hami saying is true the aces Becky and whoever did this that this and the third obviously Becky's gone Natalie's gone I wouldn't be so I wouldn't even stop saying that Mark Davis would have to sell the [ __ ] team who knows how far it freaking goes because he already has bad [ __ ] on his record so um now if if Becky's gone I would expect if they don't find obviously another head coach you know if there's not a head coach somebody that's already has head coaching experience that wants the AC's job okay I could see that happening but I would think Tyler Marsh gets that job now if he does Jackie stays if for whatever reason Becky ends up staying or the aces get rid of Becky and they hire another head coach I could see Tyler maybe leaving and taking a head coaching job at another place if that happens I think Jackie follows Tyler wherever he goes that's her guy that's been her guy that's helped her from day one in this [ __ ] building every single step of the way nothing Jackie does out on that court in this Aces organization happens without Tyler Marsh being there yeah I agree with that I don't think well you never know I think they're hired Natalie first before Tyler and it's just kind of like everybody gets bumped up like Natalie becomes the head coach and then Tyler becomes that weird title they have this weird title of like first assistant coach or some crap like that I don't know I'm talking they clear the house of every female in this [ __ ] organ that [ __ ] to do with this if you talk about like that well I don't think Natalie had anything to do well well who [ __ ] knows we don't know you never know exactly that's why I'm saying that's why I'm taking a step back and going well you never know this could go like you you you you name names like this could go all the way up to team president like it could go all the way up that high with they're all females let's not forget so exactly that's what I'm saying so they can like be clear in house so you never know but Tyler too right he could have something to do with it I'm not saying he's innocent but it's more likely that Tyler is not talking about those things right with another woman like I'm sure they keep him out of those conversations when it's a guy coach involved you know he's so quiet and Reserve he's probably like I don't want to hear this anyway I'm going home to my wife and kid like I'm out of here he probably it's hard to has has a hard time talking to his wife about being pregnant exactly don't call me when you want to shoot around that's it so but yeah yeah the end of this season the off season is going to be something and I'm just trying to survive until then like because like this thing could be blown up yeah you never know you just never know like backtack championship titles on a team and the entire organization that brought that could be gone yeah and like you think about it like this is this organization right now the way it's constructed the players and everything has a Dynasty look to it like we talked about the links and mayam Moore and how they won four that group like four in eight years like this team is constructed in the same way they could have that dynasty type run in them but it could all be blown up and we might never see it so man gonna be sweating in the off season yeah it's gonna GNA be some weding like gonna be crazy to see how this all ends up but still it's going to be even crazy to see how the aces end up finishing up this season yeah exactly because there's still a lot to come into play here and a lot can happen between now and then y um I definitely am not thinking you know going into to start this season I did bet that the aces were going to win a championship this season I would be saving my five bucks from that sports book right now because I would not be making that damn B just tell you that no way in hell I'm not expecting that the aces are going to threee and I'm so heartbroken like yeah and you know again like those feelings of watching the game and it's just because like like I like it's crazy to say you know like you feel like you got love for these players because they brought something to my city that I've been wanting since I was a little kid like I had had you know like and so this means so much more to me than just basketball like just a championship like yeah and so you know to think like they could have like really like already two P like you know back to back is so special I won't I will never take anything away from that but the three pie could have been so much more special and to know like that's most likely not going to happen it still could still could it's most likely not going to happen like it hurts my heart hurts my soul it hurts that you know like Tiff Hayes came out of retirement thinking like this is my best chance you know to win a championship and ring she's one she's literally one of the only ones right now besides Asia that's out there every night giving it every single thing that she has throwing her body around playing offense defense doing everything she needs to do out there she's out there laying it on the line I mean like last night she freaking got hurt and like I felt my my freaking heart fall off to my stomach like like no don't tell me like she came out of retirement and now it's gonna get a [ __ ] serious injury you know like that's the least thing you want to see freaking happen luckily you know she was okay but it's just like you hate to see that for players that you know put so much into this and it's just like uh you know like this could be our last year that Alicia Clark plays who knows she could retire after the season we don't know exactly you know it's like I would expect the aces team looks a lot different next season regardless of how any of this shakes out yeah like I said this whole thing could be blown up and we're looking at just Asia and a whole bunch of new people like all right and what's that hurt hurt rookie yeah exactly those three is AIA Kate and who else oh um fcking um freaking KB will still be on the team C no she's one of I things for sure gone for for some reason they just won't let her go I don't like no she's gone it's crazy her contract's up after this season she's gone she don't we don't need that dead weight hanging around anymore no thank you she doesn't play she doesn't do [ __ ] no thanks um all right
