Arizona Cardinals Release Desmond Ridder My Thoughts!!

yo what's going on guys it's Houston Sports Talk Back another video day and today the Arizona Cardinals has released quarterback Desmond Ritter the third round pick in 2022 74th overall pick so in the last day we have seen two of the first quarterbacks that were selected in that 2022 NFL draft um you know ended up uh traded and released uh now the first quarterback that was selected that 2022 NFL draft was Kenny Piet but then you didn't see a quarterback selected in the draft until Malik Willis and Desmond Ritter were drafted in the third round um and yesterday Malik Willis was traded to the Packers for a seventh round pick and now today Desmond Ritter who was has already been traded was traded from the Falcons to the uh Cardinals is now being released uh but Desmond Ritter ended up starting 13 games for the falc last year in 2023 playing in 15 games when the Falcons had Ritter at as as a starter the team went six and seven but I mean you know they had a lot of help elsewhere solid defense great running back um he threw 249 for three for for 249 for 388 which is a completion percentage of 64.2 he threw 2836 passing yards threw 12 passing touchdowns that's good but thre the same amount of interceptions now this offseason or this you know this year's training camp in pre-season he has been in a competition with clayon ton who was a fifth round draft pick for the Arizona Cardinals in the 139th overall uh 139th overall pick in the 20 2023 NFL draft and um also went to Houston for college which I am from Houston so love to see it but these two guys have been battling and both guys have played good in Pre preseason I'm going to go over the two guys stats so Desmond Ritter in preseason 20 for 35 uh throwing 225 passing yards and has run for 63 rushing yards and has not thrown a touchdown but has not thrown a pick now let's get to clayon ton because clayon tun has been balling off has been balling sorry balling out in the preseason clayon tune 35 for 52 throwing 36 61 passing yards one passing touchdown dead throw one interception but he ran for 33 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown so Clayton ton scored two touchdown one one you know passing touchdown one rushing touchdown uh yes Ritter did have more rushing yards by about 30 um but clayon T had a lot more accuracy now uh yes yes I know uh both guys threw around the same number of incompletions Clayton tun threw 17 well Raider threw 15 uh but Clayton tun threw the ball a lot more I think it's more impressive to go 35 for 52 than it is to go to you know go 20 for 35 so uh and you know tuned through more yards um he he had more touchdowns yes CL you know yes Clayton tun was the only player out of the two of them to throw an interception but both guys played good but I I think at the end of the day clay and soon played a little bit better and uh so yeah let me know your thoughts on the Arizona Cardinals releasing Desmond Ritter uh that's the video hope you guys enjoyed and peace out
